Chapter 13 “So Mary, is there something that you would like to tell me?” Nicole asked later that day as she and Mary sat in a little café not too far from the hotel where they were staying. It was after rehearsal and Nicole decided that while everyone else went off to do their own thing, she would take Mary out and get to know her more. Mary, because she liked Nicole for somewhat taking her under her wing and showing her all the ropes of touring, agreed. “What’s there to tell?” Mary asked, thoroughly confused. Making an eye gesture to Mary’s clothing attire, Nicole elaborated on what she meant. “Why are you wearing Keith’s shirt? And don’t deny that you aren’t because I have known Keith for quite some time now and that is his favorite shirt.” “Oh…I ran into him this morning at breakfast. Well, he actually ran into me and spilt my whole plate of pancakes, sausage, and bacon on me and totally ruined my shirt. So, he offered to lend me one of his and since I didn’t have much time to go back to my room and change, I just agreed. Hence, me wearing his shirt.” Mary lied on the spot after thinking about an excuse. “Liar, I know that Keith’s room is right across the hall from yours. So, it doesn’t make any sense as to why you would go to his room instead of your own.” Nicole saw right through the lie. Mary, practically sweating buckets in her seat from the interrogation she was now receiving, could not think of another excuse. When she stayed quiet, Nicole silently said, “There’s something going on between you two, don’t you dare deny it. But, I have a feeling that you don’t want to talk about it so I will drop it now. Just know that whatever you’re hiding will probably come back and bite you in the bum later.” Mary, eyes widened, nodded her head. They were silent for a moment before Mary, without even thinking her words through, let the phrase, “Me and Keith are dating” slip out. Nicole nodded, clearly not surprised by the statement. “I had a feeling that was what was going on between you two. And let me guess, you have his shirt because you guys decided to have some ‘fun’ last night. Am I right?” She make quotations with her fingers at the word ‘fun’. Mary, who was as red as a tomato, nodded. “Yeah.” “And let me have another wild guess; he’s Colleen’s father?” Nicole had also seen the picture of Mary’s four year old and like everyone else, could not deny that she looked like Keith. “Yes.” Mary squeaked out. “Wow. When everyone finds out, it’s gonna be like watching a reality TV show…only better.” Nicole said with a laugh. “You won’t tell anyone will you?” Mary pleaded, not fully knowing if she could trust the lady in front of her or not. “Don’t worry, I won’t. Does anyone else know?” Nicole said with a reassuring smile. “George, but only because he was the only one I trusted at the time and because I knew Keith had to talk about us with someone, that he couldn’t keep it all to himself.” Mary said softly, glad that Nicole would keep her and Keith’ secret. “Well, hopefully you don’t get pregnant on this tour.” Nicole said with a laugh, referring to the information she had acquired at the start of the conversation. Mary’s eyes widened in shock as she remembered one important detail she could not believe she missed. “Oh my God…” Meanwhile, as the girls were talking in the café, Keith was up in his room playing his beloved guitar when there was a rapid knock on the door. “It’s open.” Keith called out as he plucked away on the strings of his acoustic guitar. The door slammed open and in walked a very furious looking Emmet Cahill. “Are you freakin’ mad?!?” He exclaimed as he stormed over to Keith. “What the heck are you talking about?” Keith shouted back, confused at his friend’s odd behavior. “You and Mary? I mean really Keith? It’s one thing to date her but to…you know…what were you thinking?” “How did you find out?” Keith asked, curious to know since he felt he had been very discreet about his relationship with Mary. “Well, there’s the obvious reason with her wearing your shirt.” Emmet said in a dull tone as he glared at the twenty-six year old singer in front of him. “Yeah, probably wasn’t the best idea to do that. But, she needed a shirt and had no time because Sharon practically had the IRA looking for her.” Keith joked. Emmet just continued glaring, not in the mood for jokes. “What’s it to you anyway? So we’re dating, who cares? I love her and she loves me and that’s all there is to it.” Keith said with a shrug. “How can you possibly know you love her? You’ve only known her for…oh my God. No way…no frickin’ way.” Emmet muttered, staring at his friend in disbelief. “Are you high or something?” Keith questioned, shocked by the twenty-one year olds behavior. “It makes sense now…” Emmet continued muttering. “What makes sense you idiot before I lose all interest in this conversation and kick you out.” Keith stated, starting to get bored with everything. “You’re the father of her child aren’t you? The guy that she was so hopelessly in love with when she was growing up? And she was the girl you were going to marry?” Emmet let out. Keith sat upright in the bed. “Okay, I can see where you get me being Collie’s father from, that’s kind of obvious at this point. But how did you find out I was gonna propose to her?” Keith asked, furious that Emmet would know that information…Keith classified that as personal and he had wanted it to stay that way his whole life. “Your sister told me once when I questioned her about why you never have any girlfriends.” Emmet informed. “I’m gonna kill her.” Keith muttered angrily. “So…it’s really true? You’re the father of Collie and she’s the girl you bought a ring for?” Emmet questioned, his angry tone replaced with plain curiosity. “Yeah, pretty much.” Keith said as he grabbed his guitar and started playing again. “Wow…wait til all the other lads find out.” “You had better not tell anyone Cahill or I swear to God I’ll personally kill you with my bare hands.” Keith growled. Never seeing Keith act the way he was now, Emmet quickly agreed that he wouldn’t tell anyone. “Good.” “Well, now that I know what’s up, I’m gonna go.” “See ya.” Keith mumbled as he strummed away. Just as Emmet was walking out of the room, he turned around and said, “Don’t hurt her. Or I swear to God I will kill you with my bare hands.” Emmet quoted his mate as he took on the older brother role, even though he was younger than Mary. “Don’t get your panties in a twist. Hurting Mary is the last thing on my mind.” Keith said softly, smiling a little as he thought of his wife and daughter. Nodding, Emmet exited the room to leave Keith in his thoughts and so he could sort out his own as he tried to process the newly acquired information.

Chapter 14 The sound of banging once again on the door interrupted Keith, who was still trying to write a new song. “For the love of God WHAT?!?” he hollered, thinking it was either Emmet again or one of the other lads. “Keith! It’s me! Open up!” He heard Mary’s voice shout through the door. Feeling slightly bad for yelling, but still just as annoyed (an emotion he always felt when someone interrupted him when he was in the process of writing a new song), Keith placed his guitar down, rolled off the bed, and went to greet Mary at the door. “Can it wait?” He grumbled as he let Mary in. “NO.” She shouted, a little too harshly for his liking. ‘Must be because I yelled.’ He thought as he presumed his former position on the bed, gesturing Mary to join him. Looking at the bed with such distaste on her face, she slightly shook her head and said, “We need to talk about what we did last night.” “What about it? I thought it was good.” Keith said with a smirk. It took all of Mary’s self-control to not beat him senseless. “We forgot something you idiot!” She hissed. Keith’s facial expression turned from amusement to confusion VERY quickly. “Huh?” Fed up and completely frustrated, Mary tried to say as calmly as she could, “You best hope I don’t get pregnant again you idiot!” “Wha-ohhhh….” Keith trailed off. “Yeah, oh.” Mary huffed. “What are we gonna do if you are…” Keith couldn’t bring himself to say the word, he just couldn’t. “I don’t know. Raise it?” Mary sighed, finally agreeing to go sit next to Keith. Wrapping his arms around her to comfort her, Keith muttered as he kissed the top of her head, “Well, if you are pregnant, at least I’ll be here for this one’s whole life.” Mary’s heart soared at those words. While the completely in love couple discussed what they were going to do if Mary did indeed get pregnant, Colm, Neil, Emmet, and George were all in a local pub together for lunch. It wasn’t until halfway through the meal when Colm bluntly stated, “Something is going on between Keith and Mary.” Emmet, who told George that he knew prior to entering the restaurant, and George quickly looked at each other before becoming intensely interested in the food on their plate. “I’m not sure. I can’t see Keith to be the type to hide something from us.” Neil pointed out. Emmet and George remained quiet. “Well, I haven’t known him for very long but look at the facts. He hates her, she’s all weird around him. Next day they are best friends and always sharing little looks and smiles and always hanging out together. Emmet saw them walk into the hotel late at night with each other. Her daughter looking like an exact clone of Keith. And today, her wearing what you lads described as Keith’s favorite shirt? You’d have to be an idiot if you didn’t think something was going on.” Colm pointed out. Emmet finally decided to butt in. “If there’s something going on, there’s something going on. But, it’s none of OUR business Colm, so just leave them be.” “Emmet’s right lad,” George added. “Besides, what’s got you so interested with Keith anyway?” “Yeah,” Neil said laughing. “Is there something that you’re not telling us?” It didn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out what Neil was getting at. Choking on his water, Colm had to be clapped on the back a few times before he managed to find the breath to say, “I have a girlfriend you idiot! And I’m just curious as to know why he doesn’t even so look at girls…well, not anymore. It doesn’t make sense.” “If you must know,” Emmet started, aware of the warning look George was now giving him. “Rebecca told me once that he had some girl who he was gonna go the whole nine yards with and then one day she just vanished without a word. He’s been dealing with a broken heart since he was like twenty according to Becca.” As vague as he was, he made sense and Colm said, “Makes sense. But why the sudden interest in Mary if he still has that ‘broken heart’.” Colm did hand quotes around broken heart as Neil suggested, “Maybe he finally got over it. Who knows? All I know is if there is something going on between the two, they best hope that Sharon doesn’t find out from anyone but them or else they’ll lose their jobs. heck, when Nicole and I personally went to her and told her that we were dating the moment after we got together, she almost canned the both of us.” Neil grimaced at that memory. “Well, all I know is that if he is involved with Mary somehow, he will do the right thing. Besides, I have a feeling that Keith knows what he’s doing. Lad’s smart anyway, knows not to screw up.” George worded carefully, not wanting to give too much away. All the lads around the table nodded, all of them in deep thought about their band-mate and friend. *i know im dancing on a thin line, but what's life without some risk..and besides YOLO! haha...anyway, all comments appreciated along with advice, suggestions, and whatever you please to tell me! *

Meg love the way Mary stormed into Keith's room! And the little trip down memory lane for Neil and Nicole was priceless! And the rest of what happened in the PUB was a hoot to read! Especially Colm choking on his water! Here's some advice: HAVE KEITH AND MARY CONFESS EVERYTHING AND I MEAN EVERYTHING TO SHARON ASAP! I'VE ALWAYS HAD A FEELING KEITH WAS SHARON'S FAVORITE! SO SHE CAN'T FIRE KEITH AND IF SHE DOES NOT WANT TO LOOSE KEITH SHE BETTER NOT FIRE MARY!

Chapter 15 It was the week before the Celtic Thunder singers, band, and crew would leave for America to start their fall tour and Sharon had graciously given them that week off so they could be with their families. For Mary, that meant she could be with her daughter quicker than she expected and for Keith, it meant that he would be meeting his daughter for the first time. He and Mary had decided that it would be better than sooner that they meet. No one else knew that they would be spending the week together. All the other lads thought Keith was going back home to spend some time with his sister. “Are you ready for this?” Mary asked softly as she and Keith took their seats together on the one way plane to County Sligo. “I’m scared. What if she doesn’t like me? And what if I’m an awful dad?” Keith muttered, scared as anyone would be knowing they would be finally meeting their daughter for the first time. “Keith, she already loves you. And you won’t be a bad dad.” Mary assured. “She loves me as her boyfriend, not her father. And how are you so sure that I won’t be the worst father ever?” Keith mumbled. “She’ll love you as her daddy, Keith she’s been praying and wishing since she was able to understand what a father was that she would have one. And now you’re gonna be there. It’s gonna make her year meeting you. And I know you won’t be a bad father because I’ve seen you with kids Keith and you’re amazing with them. You’re funny and playful and kids love to be around people like that.” Mary assured. Keith nodded, his worries still there in the back of his head. After about a four hour flight, the plane finally landed in County Sligo and there was no turning back for Keith…whether he liked it or not he would be meeting his daughter in just a few short minutes. “Ready?” Mary asked as they made their way to baggage claim. “As I’ll ever be.” Keith mumbled as the squealing of a four year old could be heard. “MOMMY!” Collie exclaimed once she spotted her mother. Pulling loose from her Nannie (pronounced: Nun-ie), she ran as fast as her little legs could carry her. “Collie!” her mother exclaimed as she engulfed her into a huge hug. Picking her up and holding her as she greeted her mother, Mary couldn’t help but see out of the corner of her eye Keith’s facial expression as Collie stared at him. “Collie, you remember talking to Keith right?” Mary questioned. Nodding her head and giggling, Collie made a move to break free from her mother, wanting Keith to hold her. Getting a slight nod from Keith to show his approval, Mary gingerly handed her daughter over to her father. “Hi Keith!” Collie exclaimed as she locked her arms around his neck. Keith’s heart swelled at holding his little girl as he replied back, “Hey Collie-girl.” Collie unlatched her arms from Keith and started playing with his locks of blond hair. “You’re my daddy.” She said after a second. Keith nearly dropped his daughter as Mary gasped. “Collie, what makes you say that?” She managed to stutter, shocked that her daughter would know the truth about Keith. “Nannie told me.” The four year old said simply as she became entranced with her father’s hair. “MOM! Why did you tell her!?!?” Mary exclaimed. Mary’s mom failed at hiding a smile as she simply said, “She wanted to know who he was so I told her.” Rolling her eyes at her mother, Mary turned to her daughter and said, “Collie you’re right baby, this is your daddy.” “Hi Daddy!” Collie said with a giggle. Keith’s heart exploded…his daughter just called him Daddy. “Why don’t we leave this crowded airport and head home, then we can talk more.” Mary’s mom suggested. Agreeing, the two parents quickly grabbed their stuff and together the family left the airport, Keith never letting go of his daughter the whole time. “Mommy, did you know that I have two sets of grandparents now?” Collie questioned as Mary buckled her into her car seat. “Yes baby, I do. Maybe someday Mommy and Daddy will take you to meet them.” Mary said as she clicked the last buckle. “But Mommy, I already met them, they’re at Nannie’s house.” Collie said simply as she picked up her favorite stuffed pig that she’s had since she was born. “WHAT!?!” Mary and Keith exclaimed at the same time. “I may have invited Keith’s family up for the week. They came in yesterday.” Mary’s mother said from behind the wheel. “God Mom, you’re just full of surprises today aren’t you?” Mary grumbled. “Oh hush darling and get in the car.” Was her response. Letting Keith sit in the back seat with Collie, Mary took the front. But, just as she sat down, a sense of queasiness came over her. A feeling that she hasn’t felt since she was pregnant with Collie
*yeah...dont know what i think of this...but who doesnt love Mary's mom? haha...anyway, one big happy Harkin family reunion coming up...how do u think theyre gonna take it? And what's this with mary feeling sick? Do you think she's pregnant? comment and let me know! and thanks for everyone who's commented so far!*

Chapter 16 To say that the whole situation was awkward was an understatement. The moment the Collie, Mary, Keith, and Mary’s mom walked into the house, no one knew what to say or do. “Mary, how nice to see you again.” Mrs. Harkin said curtly after she embraced her son. Mary gave a small nod as she said, “And you Mrs. Harkin.” She no longer felt comfortable calling her by her real name. The daggers that Rebecca was giving Mary didn’t go unnoticed by Keith as he discreetly hit her on her back and gave her a look to say ‘knock it off’. “Well, why don’t we go into the living room and catch up?” Mary’s mom suggested, trying to lighten the mood. Agreeing, everyone made their way into the living room. Keith sat down next to Mary on the loveseat and Collie sat on Keith’s lap, snuggling up against her father’s chest. “What I want to know Mary is why you didn’t tell us about Collie. Did you not think it was important that we know about our granddaughter?” Mr. Harkin asked, trying his hardest not to display the anger he was feeling towards the girl. “I didn’t want to drag Keith down.” Mary said meekly, knowing full well that she was the most hated girl in the world at the moment. “Oh for the love of God could you have at least come up with a better excuse than that? That’s what everyone says. Spare us the feelings and just say the truth.” Rebecca said to the girl. “What truth? That’s the real reason. I’m not lying.” “Yes you are. You just used him so you could get pregnant then disappear then come back years later once he was famous so you could take his money.” Tears fell from Mary’s eyes. “Is that seriously what you think?” She was shocked. Mary knew that this whole ordeal would be awkward but never did she expect it would be like this. Keith quickly jumped up to defend his love. “Bec, that’s not true and you know it! How could you even think of saying something like that?” “We all know it’s true Keith! Even Mom and Dad agree with me! And deep down, you do too!” the younger sister yelled. “How dare you say that?” Keith said murderously. If looks could kill, Rebecca would be ten feet under the ground favorite sister or not. “Keith, what your sister is saying makes sense, you’re just too blinded by love to notice it. But, think darling, doesn’t that make sense? Doesn’t it give an explanation for why she just abruptly left?” Mrs. Harkin reasoned. Mary and her mother and Collie watched this whole conversation take place, too shocked to say a word. “I’m the reason she left Mom! We got in a fight and she left because of it. Collie had nothing to do with it and if you dare say my daughter was only conceived for money then you are no longer my family anymore.” Keith glared at the people who raised him, shocked that he had to just say what he did. But, he would not let anyone tear down Mary and call his daughter a mistake like that…not even his own parents. “Keith, be rational here son, we are only trying to look out for you.” Mr. Harkin said to his son. “I’m twenty-six years old dad; I don’t need to be looked out for. I can live my life on my own thanks.” Keith sneered, beyond upset that his family would make Mary cry like she was now. The tension in the room could be cut with the dullest knife. With everyone glaring at each other, no one knew what to say or do next. “You can either accept that Collie is my daughter and that I love Mary with my whole heart or you can leave. It’s your pick.” Keith simply said after a minute or two of silence. “I guess I have to find a hotel room then.” Rebecca said to her older brother, a man she had previously looked up to. “I’m sorry Keith.” His mother said as she followed her daughter up to the guestroom where they were staying to pack up their stuff. “Even though I will be leaving with your mom and sister, I do support you on this Keith. And Mary, I am sorry for the accusations we have put against you. Goodbye son.” Mr. Harkin said before he went to join his wife and youngest child. Keith felt he had been punched in the gut and Mary was feeling sick to her stomach. “You just ripped their family apart.” Her mind repeated over and over. Suddenly, everything became too much and she was sprinting to the bathroom to empty out her stomach. Keith quickly followed her to hold back her hair. Once she was through, she leaned against him and whispered hoarsely, “This probably isn’t the time, but I think we need to get a pregnancy test.” Keith nodded in agreement. “I’m sooo sorry about what happened today Keith. I didn’t mean to take you away against your family.” “Don’t worry about it love.” Keith said absentmindedly, still trying to wrap his mind around the fact that he might be the father of a second child. “I love you.” Mary whispered. “Love you to darlin’. And don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.” Was his response. Mary just weakly smiled, thankful that she had a man who loved her and just proved that he would do anything for her and stick with her through thick and thin. Mary was glad that she had Keith back in her life again, despite all the struggles it had brought.
*had some difficulty finding a good spot to end this so that is why it ended so abruptly. so...betcha you werent expecting that....which is why i did it! haha, dontcha love me? lol...all comments welcome good or bad, i wont get offended i promise. thanks for reading!*

Chapter 17 “You know that if this thing is positive then we are going to have to come clean and tell everyone about us.” Mary commented as she sat down next to Keith in their favorite spot in town. Keith, wiping his sweaty hands across his jeans said, “I know.” Mary leaned her head against Keith’s shoulder as she placed the bag that contained the pregnancy test besides her. “I’m scared.” She admitted as she intertwined her fingers with his. “Why?” Keith asked his girlfriend as he wrapped an arm around her. “I…” But Mary didn’t finish her sentence because she didn’t want to admit her fears to the man she loved because if she did, then she would be questioning his commitment. As if sensing what she was going to say, Keith said softly and gently, “I’m not ever going to leave you. I love you too let you go again.” “Promise?” Mary whispered as she watched two ducks waddle into the pond that was in front of them. Knowing that there was no better time to do it, seeing as the situation was practically handed to him on a silver platter, Keith pulled the small box out of his coat pocket that was protecting him against the early autumn chill. As he opened it, Mary gasped. “Keith…” Chuckling a bit, he addressed his speechless girlfriend by saying, “Before you get your hopes up, it’s only a promise ring. I figured a legit proposal might be too soon so I got you this as I promise that I will one day propose to you and marry you. I love you Mary, and I don’t ever want to let you go.” He slipped the small silver, diamond encrusted band onto her finger. “And when that day comes, I promise that I will say yes.” Mary softly said as she pressed her lips against her loves. Smiling against her lips, Keith questioned, “Do you like it?” “I love it. It’s absolutely beautiful Keith.” “Good, I’m glad.” They sat by the pond saying sweet nothings to each other for a few more minutes until Mary declared that it was time to go and find out if she was pregnant or not. “Please tell me you don’t turn into one of those crazy pregnant ladies.” Keith laughed as he and Mary drove home. With her hand in his across the console of the car, she laughed as well and said, “Not so much the crazy, but I hope you like waking up at three thirty in the morning to buy me Chinese or whatever food I am craving.” “Oh dear God, help me now.” Keith pleaded, pretending to be serious. “You’ll be meaning that in a few more months.” Mary commented, secretly ecstatic that they were talking as if she was already pregnant. Mary desperately wanted to have a big family and with the knowledge that she was probably pregnant again, well, she could barely contain her happiness. And Keith noticed. “You’re hoping your pregnant aren’t you?” “As against my beliefs and values it goes, yes, I hope I am.” She said with a smile. “You always did want a family that would put that American show to shame.” Keith said with a laugh, referring to the Duggar family. Mary laughed with him. Everything seemed so perfect in that moment that she hoped it would never end, that they could stay like this forever and never have to go back to reality. “I love you Keith.” She muttered, taking his hand up to her lips and kissing it. “Love you too darlin’. Forever and always.” “So, how long do we have to wait?” Keith asked once they were back at the house and Mary had taken the test. “Five minutes.” She informed him as she smiled at her daughter who was coloring fairy pictures with her father. “Daddy! Daddy! Do you like my princess?” Collie exclaimed as she waved a scribbled picture in her dad’s face. Elated at how quickly she had taken to calling him ‘daddy’, Keith pulled his daughter close to him and said, “It is beautiful princess, but you are a much prettier princess.” Collie started to laugh as her dad started to tickle her. “Daddy! Daddy! DADDY!” the five year old shrieked. Laughing at the silliness of her daughter and boyfriend, Mary walked back into the bathroom to check the small stick that would change her life. Noticing that the results haven’t come in, she went into her bedroom and sat down on her bed to wait, the laughter from the kitchen barely audible as she zoned into her own world. She could see it now, the white picket fence surrounding a white house with dark shutters, a big backyard, five or six kids running around, her and Keith sitting together on the front porch, growing old with him…the image was so clear that it brought a smile to Mary’s face. Without a doubt, they would be THAT couple who lasted through thick and thin, no matter how thin, she thought. Completely lost in her life ten or so years from now, Mary almost missed the end of the five minute wait. Practically skipping into the bathroom, she quickly went to pick up the small white plastic stick. Tears rolled down her face as she looked at the results. *well, is it positive or not? because i did not specify what kind of tears those were...hope you liked this! all comments welcome! and feel free to check out my colm story! thanks! pictures: Mary's ring: ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/317pNsrhf5L._SL190_CR0,0,190,246_.jpg the house she was thinking of: www.celsias.com/media/uploads/admin/House-White-Picket-Fence-Lg--gt_full_width_landscape.jpgplease review!*

Hmmmm....personally I don't think she's pregnant. She's got a great image in her head but I don't think the reality has set in. If she is pregnant then there is no way Sharon will let her stay on the tour and there's a good chance that Keith won't be able to stay either. If she isn't pregnant then there's a chance that she and Keith can stay on the tour and raise their daughter together.
This story keeps me on the edge of my seat and I can't wait to see where you take it!
