Chapter 41
"I'd love to, but I promised Lori Sensai I'd teach class today because she's sick." I said sadly. "And I have my sixth degree black belt test later. All the other Sensais will be there."
"Can we watch then, little sis?" Sean asked.
"Sure. BUT, these are the rules of our dojo." I said, handing everyone a sheet of paper.
Dojo Rules (A/N: Some of these were real rules at my dojo)
1. When coming in, bow to the Kamiza
2. Don't come on the the mat wearing shoes
3. Be quiet during classes
4. If you take the bathroom key, bring it back when you are done and hang it back where it was
5. No food in the dojo
6. Do not bring drinks on the mat
7. Take off all jewelry and/or things that could get caught in people's hair
8. DO NOT push people when bowing in or out, sit Saiza with your hands folded neatly on your lap, stare straight ahead at the Kamiza
9. Always be polite
10. If you have shoulder length or longer hair please put it up
11. Have fun!
"Wow." Damo said. "Um, so what do you do again?"
"Aikido." I said.
"Wow, love. Sixth degree? How many degrees are there?" Keith asked.
"Ten." Lis said, laughing. "I'm a first degree black belt, Sunny is fifth, hopefully sixth, Hazel is a first degree as well, and so is Leslie."
"Wow." Liza said, eyes wide. "I didn't know you were SIXTH degree Sunny. I knew you were a black belt but...."
"Leslie, Lis, Hazel, find your gi*s. (*pronounced Ge as in GEese) We'll all be training today." I said.
"Yes!" They said. "'Kay, sis!"
Josh opted to stay at my house with Sebi, my brothers Dom, Joe and Sam, my sisters Sarah and Alisabeth, Zara, the other dancers and Jesse.
So my van had me, Paul, Keith, Dom, Damo, Meg, Sean and Janey while Sharon, George, Ryan, Lis, Liza, Emmet, CC and Belinda had another van.
Janie, Cassie, Jessica, Hazel and Leslie had a pickup truck. (Because they couldn't find a purple tractor! lol )

"Are we there yet?" Paul asked.
"Paul! Be quiet!" Dom said. "We are not there yet!"
"Are we there yet??" Damo asked.
"No!" I said.
"Are we there yet?" Meg asked.
"No, an' we won't be unless ye are quiet!" Keith said, coming to my aid, like Dom had.
"Okay! New rule! If anybody else asks that, they will be dumped on the side of the road!" I said.
"Kay little sis." Sean.
"Okay cuz." Janey said.
I bluetooth called Janie, because both Cassie and I were driving. "Are they playing the "Are we there yet???" game like they are here??"
"Ugg. Yeah. It's like having my brothers with us!" She answered.
I turned it into a three way call be pressing a button on the dashboard. "George, are they playing the "Are we there yet???" game there as well??"
"Yep, they're driving Sharon crazy." He said, with a slight chuckle.
"Okay, lets play "Dead skunk in the road." !!! " Sean said. "There's a dead skunk in the road! I one it!"
"Two it!!" Jess said in the pickup.
"Three it!" Leslie said.
"Four it!" Meg said.
"Five it!" Lis said.
"Six it!" Hazel said.
"Seven it!" CC said.
"I jumped over it an' you ate(eight) it!!!" People in all three vehicles shouted, laughing.
"Next round!" Sean said. "One it!"
This time we all said........ "You can have it!!!"
"You guys are no fun!" He pouted, eyes sparkling.
With a relieved sigh, Cassie, Sharon and I said "We're here!!!!"
We got out of the cars.
"Sorry to keep you waiting!" I called to everybody waiting for me to unlock the dojo. "I have some guests from, um, out of town."
I unlocked the dojo.
"Leslie, Lis, Hazel, the changing rooms are over here." I said.
Hazel headed toward one of them. "Um, Hazel! That's the guys changing room, the women's is over here!" I said walking into it.

(Note: I'm not sure I spelled the terms right. After all, it's Japanese. And this is stuff I had to do when I was in Aikido. I miss it!!!!!!! )
"White gis!?!" The lads laughed.
"Shall we show them what we can do?" Lis asked.
"Sure." I said.
" Ihomne Ekeo Ahmote and Oroo." Lis said, she and Hazel demonstrating.
"Gakoohamne Ekeo Oroo." Hazel said.
"Koshunage." Leslie supplied.
The lads looked awed, as did the kids I was to teach.
We threw each other across the mat, and acted crazy.
It was now four o'clock.
"Okay kids! Line up!" I said.
They lined up two rows from the Kamiza, the way they had been taught, with their hands on their laps.
"Bow in." I said.
"Nahagushmas." They replied.
"Okay, good!" Even numbers today!" I said.
I pointed to half the kids. "Window."
The other half was of the side without a window.
"Seal." They crossed the mat, dragging their legs, with their hands turned backward.
"Good. Sideways, one footed crab." I said.
They dropped down to the mat and crawled, one foot and both hands on the floor.
"Very nice! Okay, hmmmmm, Butt-walk!" I said, laughing to myself, the kids hated this one, just like I used to.
Sure enough..... "Awwwwww!! " They said.
But they sat down anyway, legs straight out, arms crossed, and lifted their legs one at a time.
"Good. Shiko." I said.
That got an enthusiastic reply.
"Yay!"
Until I added, "With spins."
"Aww!!! "
(By this time it's 4:30)
"Okay, rolls. Forward and backward, both standing and sitting."
"Yay!!" The kids said.
They do rolls across the mat.
(4:45, the class ends at 5:00)
"Ukemi practice!" The kids yelled.
"Yep." I said smiling.
They practiced Ukemi for fifteen minutes, until it was 5:00 and their parents showed up.
"Alright, time to bow out!" I said.
The kids sat in Saiza for five minutes because there were two girls that were talking even though the other kids shushed them.
"Good. Domo Aragato Gesiai Mushta." We bowed out, they started to get up.
"Wait." I said. "I know I'm not your regular sensai, but that doesn't mean you don't have to behave. All sensais should be treated with respect." I said, looking at the two girls.
"You all did very good today." I said, letting them go get changed.
More will be added later, in the next chapter. hehehe
