When Mindy got off the bus, the first thing she noticed was Damian talking to two young ladies, both dressed very similar to her. She sighed in relief. Even though she felt strange, she wouldn’t look out of place. Damian saw her and walked the two girls over.
“Hey Minds…this is Meagan and Kristine. Meagan, Kristine, this is my good friend, Mindy.” Paul introduced them.
“Hey Mindy! It’s really great to meet you. My mom is looking forward to having you stay with us. She would be here but she already had plans to meet some people at the hotel.” Meagan hugged Mindy. Mindy immediately stepped back. She was not a great fan of hugging strangers. Next Kristine said hi and smiled. Mindy smiled back.
“Meagan, there is something I must ask thee. Would thee, I mean,"you", have a needle and thread I could use?” Mindy asked.
“Um…no Mindy. I really don’t carry needle and thread with me…why? Did you lose a button or something?” Meagan asked.
“Oh…I just injured myself and need to stitch it before we leave.” Mindy held up her bloodied hand, the material she had wrapped around it soaked with blood.
“Oh my God!” Meagan yelled. Paul took one look at Mindy’s hand, turned pale and dropped to the ground in a dead faint.
“Paul!” Mindy rushed to him…kneeling down next to him and started patting his cheek.
“Mindy! Why didn’t you tell someone you cut yourself?” Damian reached down and pulled her up to a stand. “Are you going to need stitches?”
“It is of no concern…. Paul may have hurt himself, I must check on him.” Mindy tried to pull away.
“Paul has the head of a rock. Let’s take a look at your hand.” Damian replied as he took her hand. Everyone watched as he unwrapped the makeshift bandage. Blood started to pool at the open gash.
“Whoa…that looks pretty serious.” Meagan paled.
“Don’t you pass out too…I’ll go and get George, he’ll know what to do.” Damian put the bandage back in Mindy’s hand and told her to hold it tight, then ran back on the bus to find George. Paul started making moaning sounds from below.
“Paul! Are thee well?” Mindy kneeled down and patted his cheek. Paul opened his eyes and looked up at Mindy.
“What happened? Mindy! Your hand….it was bloody! Are you ok? What happened to your hand?” Paul started to sit up…,rubbing the back of his head.
“You fainted when you saw my hand. Does your head hurt? My poor Paul.” Mindy pulled his head to her bosom, stroking his hair. Paul, still in a daze, but now very much aware of being in Mindy’s arms, started to lay it on strong.
“Well, my head does kind of hurt right here.” He pointed to the back of his head. Mindy gently parted the hair and felt a small bump. She gently lay a kiss on the back of his head. Meagan and Kristine groaned, a “oh brother” could be heard from one of them. Just then all the lads came running from the bus.
“What’s this? I thought Mindy was hurt, not Paul.” Ryan commented.
“Mindy lass…let me see your hand.” George told her. Mindy lifted up her hand to show George. There was another groan from Paul when he looked at the bloody material.
“You faint again lad, and I’ll leave ya there to for the birds to feed on. Now Mindy, this looks like a serious cut. We’ll need to take you to a clinic and get you fixed up. Neil…can you catch a cab for us?” George gently put the material to the cut. “Now press the material tight and keep your hand up above your heart. There ya go lassie, good job. That will slow down the bleeding. Paul, if you don’t feel you can handle holding her good hand, I’ll have Ryan hold her hand at the clinic.”
“Ryan will not hold her hand, I can do it. Just don’t let me look at the blood; I’m not real good with blood.” Paul started to get up from the sidewalk.
“Yeah…tell us something new.” Damian whispered to Meagan and Kristine, which got both of the girls laughing.
“I got a cab.” Neil yelled to the group. The group moved as one, all headed to the cab.
“Only one cab, we all can’t get in there.” Keith commented.
“Paul and I will go with her, you bunch can stay here and wait. We’ll be back in an hour or two.” George told the crowd.
“Bye Mindy, you take care of yourself” Neil kissed her on the cheek.
“Laters Mindy. Don’t be scared, it’s going to be okay.” Keith kissed her on the forehead.
“Mindy, if you want to dump this loser and let me hold your hand, I will. I won’t faint at the sight of blood.” Ryan took her hand and kissed it.
“I thank you, Ryan…but I’m sure Paul will do just fine.” Mindy smiled. “Won’t you, Paul?”
Paul frowned at Ryan, then put his arm around Mindy.
“Of course! I’ll be your Rock of Gibraltar. Now beat it, old man.” Paul let Mindy to the cab.
Mindy, George, and Paul climbed into the cab. George gave directions to the driver and they took off toward the clinic.
“Well, looks like we have some time to get something to eat. Shall we find a diner?” Damian looked at the girls.
“Hey! I could use some breakfast…can I tag along?” Ryan asked putting his arm around Kristine. “Do you know any place around here to eat?”
Stunned speechless at gorgeous green eyes, or are they blue? No , green eyes looking at her, Kristine nodded and started walking, Ryan’s arm still wrapped around her. She looked at him again, well maybe they were blue….green. Hmmmm…they were nice eyes.
“We all could use something to eat…let’s all go.” Keith said. The group headed to the nearest diner

Meanwhile the cab moved through the streets of Boston, headed to the nearest emergency room. Mindy, knowing how Paul felt about blood, held on to his hand while hiding her injured hand next to her leg. Paul, on the other hand, watched the passing scenery, so he wouldn’t happen to look at her hand and pass out.“I can’t believe you didn’t tell me you cut your hand when you first walked out of the bathroom. Honestly Mindy, were you planning on bleeding to death?” Paul asked her.
“I was going to stitch it up as soon as I found a needle and thread. I didn’t think you would have them being that you are men and don’t sew. Did you have needle and thread?” Mindy asked him.
“It really doesn’t matter if we did or didn’t, Mindy. People don’t sew themselves together, that’s what doctors are for.” Paul turned and looked at her. His eyes involuntarily flew to her injured hand on their own, sort of like when a person sees an accident and can’t help but to look. His face paled, he swallowed and quickly turned away again.
“Gah! Doctors! Worthless men…they do nothing but bleed people with their slimey leeches! I shall not see one. You can just take me back.” Mindy stated matter of factly.
Mindy realized she made a huge error when both men turned and stared at her strangely.
“Mindy lass, what are you talking about? Doctors haven’t used leeches for a couple of centuries.” George held her hand looking kindly at her.
“I…I…know that. Of course I know that. But I have never seen a doctor before. My grandmother always took care of me and then I always took care of myself. I guess I’m just frightened of the pain.” The tears that started pooling in her eyes were not tears of pain, but tears of embarrassment for almost giving herself away. These men were so nice, but they would probably put her to death for being a witch if they ever found out. Mindy promised herself that she would be more careful.
Paul looked at her carefully. He could tell she was hiding something and he was determined to find out what that something was. Just then the cab pulled up to the emergency room. Paul got out first and helped Mindy out. George got out on the other side after paying the cabdriver. Both men flanked her as they walked into the emergency room.
“You two go sit down, I’ll go and check her into the desk.” George walked up to the nurse at the counter.
Mindy and Paul sat in two vacant chairs. Mindy looked around at all the people in the waiting room; many looked sick and many looked worried. Some were holding children that were crying. Some just read papers or were talking into their hands seemingly to no one. Maybe this was a madhouse too. George came and sat down next to her, handing her a board with a paper on it.
“You’re to fill this out, and then the doctor will see us.” He said.
“Here, you hurt your hand, I’ll fill it out for you.” Seeing the question in Mindy’s eyes, Paul took the board out of her hand and pulled out a pen. Mindy watch him as he wrote. He could tell she had questions about the pen. He would let her look at it when he was done.
“Last name?”
“Kinney.”
“First name?”
“Melinda”
“Address?”
“I know not what you mean?” Mindy looked at him questionably.
“Where does your mail come? What is the address of your house?” Paul asked her.
“I do not get mail. I have no address, my cottage burned down.” She answered.
“Ok…so I guess I know where this is going. I’m just going to give you my address.” He scribbled down his address and phone number.
“Birthday?”
“June 27”
“Year?”
“I am 27 years.” Mindy answered.
“So that makes you born in…” Paul calculated on his fingers. “1983.”
Mindy did not feel too great. Here she was, telling lies to this wonderful man, when he’d been nothing but nice to her. She suddenly felt like throwing up. Her face must have noticeably paled because Paul looked at her and dropped the clipboard.
“Mindy! What’s the matter! Is your hand hurting you? George! Get a doctor…I think she’s going to pass out!” Paul put his arms around her and held her to him. “It’s alright my sweetling…you’re going to be fine.” He rubbed her back and whispered in her ear while George jumped up to talk to the nurse.
The nurse immediately brought a wheelchair over and together sat Mindy in it, wheeling her into an exam cubicle. There were strange things and people running around everywhere, Mindy was amazed. The nurse checked put a stick in her mouth, then pulled it out, looked at it, then her fingers flew over a machine. Next she put something around Mindy’s arm, blowing it up until it was very tight. Slowly she let the air out, listening to her arm with something that was connected to her ears. Once again her fingers moved on a machine. After explaining that a doctor would be in shortly, she left.
“Why did the woman put that stick in my mouth?” Mindy asked Paul.
“She was checking your temperature to see if you had a fever.” Paul replied.
“Could she not just feel my head for heat?” Mindy asked.
“The doctors have to know how high a temperature is if you have one. The thermometer gives them the information. And before you ask, the nurse was checking your blood pressure when she blew up that thingy around your arm. I don’t know what blood pressure is, so don’t ask me. All I know is, if it’s high then it’s bad because you could have a heart attack or stroke; and if it’s too low…well I think you’re about dead.” Paul explained to her.
Mindy nodded.
A very nice man came in carrying a board.
“Hello. You must be Melinda. I am Dr. Carter. I hear you cut your hand pretty badly and need a few stitches in it, may I take a look?” The doctor seemed very nice to Mindy, so she held out her hand to show him. “Wow…that’s a pretty deep cut. Looks like we are going to have to put a few stitches in it, wait here and I’ll have the nurse put a few things together.” He smiled politely and left the cubicle.
“He seems very nice,” Remarked Mindy.
“Yep…and not a leech in sight…yet.” Paul teased. “Maybe he’ll bring in the big giant leeches…to suck out your blood..” He made a silly face at her.
Mindy couldn’t help but giggle.
“You sir…are being unkind. You are mocking my ignorance. I shall repay you by showing you my bloody hand.” She started to move her hand in front of his face.
“No! That’s okay! I’m sorry…I promise not to “mock your ignorance” any more.” He closed his eyes quickly so he wouldn’t have to look at her hand. “That shall teach you to mock me.” Mindy smiled and held his hand with her good one.
The nurse came in and started setting items out on a tray. She then sat down in a chair next to Mindy.
“Now this is going to hurt quite a bit. I have to clean the wound thoroughly so it won’t become infected.” The nurse explained.
Mindy started to ask the nurse questions as she cleaned the wound. Why did she clean the wound? What did she use to clean the wound? What were germs? She was so interested in the conversation, she hardly felt the pain. But still she held onto Paul’s hand tightly, hoping he would not pass out again. When the nurse was finished, she told Mindy not to move her hand and that the doctor would be in to sew it up.
When the doctor arrived, Mindy watched as he inserted a needle into her skin. It really, really hurt and brought tears to her eyes. Paul tried to distract her by making goofy faces and making her laugh. Mindy was amazed when she saw the doctor start sewing her hand, yet she felt no pain. Before she knew it, the doctor was finished and washing his hands.
“Well, that should heal nicely; I am going to send you home with a prescription for some antibiotic, in case it starts becoming infected. You take care now Melinda, and be more careful in the future when handling knives.” The doctor nodded and walked out.
“My thanks kind sir.” Mindy replied.
“All done…how does it feel?” Paul asked her.
“I can’t feel anything…will I ever be able to feel it again?” Mindy asked.
“Well you’re going to wish you can’t feel it when that Novocain wears off. It’s going to hurt like crazy. Let’s get out of here. I don’t like hospitals.” Paul grabbed her hand and pulled her out of the room. They picked up the pills on the way out. George was seated out in the waiting room. With a wave, Paul summoned him to come on.
“I paid the bill already, so I suppose we can leave.” George told them.
“Can’t get out of here soon enough! Let’s go.” Paul put his arm around Mindy.
The three headed out the emergency room door.

Sorry this took so long...I hope you enjoy!!!
Mindy shook her head. “TIS INDECENT!!! I will not enter this place.” Mindy stood in front of the Victoria Secret window in the mall. Mindy stared at the half naked lady with a lacey see-through corset on.
“Mindy…I swear to you, this is a great place and everyone is really nice. You get so many really pretty things here.” Meagan told her.
“I shall not wear one of those!” She pointed to the corset.
“Well of course not…that’s for when…well….” Paul looked up at the outfit and cleared his throat. “That’s for when you are married. So let’s go in and just look around.”
Mindy reluctantly took a few steps into the store. Her face flushed as if it was on fire and she looked down at the floor.
“I don’t think there is anything I would wear in here.” She said.
“What??? You mean you wouldn’t wear these?” Paul held up a lacey triangle with strings attached.
“Not even if I knew what it was.” Mindy replied.
“It would make a good slingshot!” laughed Damian, and everyone laughed with him.
“May I help you?” A polite voice asked from behind them.
“Yes….we need some simple basics for this young lady…Nothing fancy…just plain.” Kristine answered.
“You guys need to scram…you do not belong here!” Meagan pushed a resisting Mindy more fully into the store. “She’s embarrassed enough without you guys.”
“Do you know what size you wear?” The girls all looked at Mindy. Mindy of course had no clue what size she was, let alone what article of clothing they were talking about.
She could only shake her head no.
“Well, let me just find a changing room and I’ll measure you, then bring you something to try on.” The saleslady replied. “Please follow me.”
The girls followed the lady to the back, while the lads looked around. Meagan took one arm and Kristine took the other as both girls practically dragged Mindy to the back of the store.
Mindy was amazed as she entered a big room with one full wall being a mirror. The saleslady brought out a measuring tape and measured her around her bosoms and then took a measurement under her bosoms. She then measured her waist and hips.
“Alright….I’ll go pick out some plain and maybe a few pretty bras…I’ll be right back.” She smiled and walked out.
“Meagan….you have strange customs here. What is this woman getting for me?” Mindy asked her.
“Mindy, we’re getting you new underclothes. You can’t wear the same underclothes all the time…and Paul said your clothes were burned up when your cottage burned down.” Meagan told her. “Haven’t you ever bought bras and panties before?”
“All of my clothes are handmade. And I know nothing of bras and panties.” Mindy told them shyly.
“Well you’re going to love this…it’s fun. I’m going to have to help you though. I don’t think you will be able to do this with one hand.” Kristine pointed to her bandaged hand. “I hope you’re not shy.”
“Very shy.” Mindy replied and looked to the floor.
The saleslady tapped on the door. When Meagan opened it, she brought an armload full of bras, panties, and a multitude of other intimate apparel and laid them on a bench.
“Let me know if I can help you in any way.” She backed out and closed the door.
Both Meagan and Kristine looked at Mindy….who stared wide eyed back at them with her arms wrapped protectively around
“Well…let’s get her clothes off.” Kristine sighed and headed toward her.
Paul’s head went up on alert the minute he heard the first scream. He headed toward the dressing rooms.
“Sir…you cannot go back there.” The saleslady stepped in front of him.
“Out of my way lady.” He pushed past her and ran toward the back. He stopped in the doorway when faced with fifteen separate doors. Then hysterical laughter emanated from one of the rooms. He ran over and pounded on the door.
“Mindy! Mindy! Are you ok? Mindy! Answer me!” He hollered.
“Paul!!!! Go away!! Tis indecent for you to be here!” Mindy yelled through the door. He heard more giggling. “I heard you scream…are you ok?” He asked.
“Of course I am ok…how else could I be? How can I be in mortal danger here.” She answered.
“Okay…if you’re sure.”
“Yes…I shall be out soon. Now go away!”
There was another round of giggling
Paul moved away from the door under the watchful frown of the saleslady. He smiled and gave her a look of innocence, strolling back into the store, his hands behind his back.
An hour later, three laughing ladies heads close together talking came out of the dressing rooms, Meagan holding a pile of lingerie. She sat the pile on the counter.
“Paul, how are we going to pay for these?” she asked.
“Well…let’s see what we have here.” His hand reached toward the pile.
“NAY!” Mindy stepped in front of him quickly. “Thou shalt not look at ladies underclothes.”
“My…that sounds like one of the ten commandments.” He reached into his pocket and pulled out wallet, handing Meagan his credit card. Mindy watched with fascination while the lady behind the counter wrapped everything up in tissue and rang it up…putting the lingerie in a big pink bag.
“That’s $483.68.” The lady swiped the card that Meagan handed her.
“$483.68!!!! What did you buy!!!! Diamond bras???”” Paul growled.
“Just the basics…are you ok? You look a bit pale.” Kristine patted Paul on the shoulder.
“Oh I’m fine…just have to eat a bit less the rest of the trip.” Paul signed the machine.
Just then Mindy noticed a little pink bag in Paul’s hand.
“Did you buy something here too? What did you buy?” She asked.
“Never mind…put this in your bag will you? I don’t want to carry it around.” Paul put the bag in Mindy’s bigger bag.
“Now…we have the basics, let’s go find some clothes.” Paul headed out to the mall. The group followed. He turned and noticed the girls, heads close to together talking and giggling. He learned something very important here, women seemed to bond in a Victoria’s Secret changing room.

The group spread out at the Macy’s store, everyone looking for something for Mindy to wear. Standing beside Mindy looking through blue jeans, Paul glanced at his watch. Oh no…he’d forgotten about soundcheck and it was only ½ hour away.
“Hey…we have to leave. We have a soundcheck in 30 minutes.” Paul told Mindy.
“I see…well, I’ll go get the girls.” Mindy started to move away.
“No, if you think you’ll be okay, the lads and I will go. You girls stay and finish your shopping. Do you think you’ll be ok without me?” Paul wrapped his arms around her rubbing her back.
“I shall be fine, Paul. Go and check the sound.” Mindy hugged him back and breathed in the scent of him. She didn’t think she would ever forget his smell.
“I’ll see you later then.” He hugged her tighter to him. “Mindy…why am I finding it so hard to leave you, even for a few hours.” He sighed, gave her quick squeeze, then let her go. He walked over to Meagan to let her know they were leaving.
“Hey Meagan…I’m taking the lads back to the venue for soundcheck. Do you want to meet us somewhere for supper?” Paul asked.
“We’ll be back at the Hilton around 5:00. Why don’t you just meet us back there? We can grab something to eat.” Meagan suggested.
“Hey…how about pizza in your room.” Damian suggested.
“Pizza party in our room it is then. We’re in 652 and 654…we’ll see you later.” Meagan smiled and hugged Damian.
“Would you keep a close eye on her, Meagan? She’s not like everyone else…she hasn’t seen much of the world.” Paul asked Meagan.
“Of course I will….she’s my friend too, Paul. Don’t worry; we’ll make sure she makes it back safe and sound.” Meagan gave his hand a squeeze.
“Thank-you” Paul smiled and whistled at Ryan, who was over by Kristine laughing and flirting.
As Mindy watched the lads move away, Kristine walked over and put a huge pile of clothes in her arms. “Looks like round two here; Let’s go find a dressing room.” The girls headed to find a salesperson.
The lads were almost to the door when Paul forgot that he hadn’t given Mindy a credit card to pay for the clothes. After telling Damian and Ryan to wait at the door for him, he ran back to the women’s dept. He found them over by the dressing room door.
“So…it looks like Paul has it big time for you, Mindy…lucky girl. So how do you feel about him?” Kristine asked.
Paul’s ears perked up and he ducked behind a rack of clothes.
“Paul is the kindest, handsomest, most wonderful man I’ve ever met. I believe I am falling in love with him.” Mindy answered honestly.
Paul smiled widely. That what he liked most about his Mindy, she was always honest and didn’t play those silly flirting games with him.
“Awww…that’s so sweet! I’m sure he’s falling in love with you too. It’s just the way he’s so protective of you; like he would move mountains to keep you happy.” Meagan giggled. “Hey…how about this shirt?” She held up a shirt only the get an affirmative from Kristine to throw in on the growing pile.
“Yes, but he may not love me so much when he finds out my secret.” Mindy said.
“Secret? Oooooo….tell, tell, tell, tell!” Kristine whispered.
“I have a room open for you ladies now.” The sales woman told them. “Right this way.”
The girls headed off into the dressing rooms.
Paul stood up, stunned by what he had just heard. So she was keeping something from him, but he already knew that but thought it was something minor. But this sounded serious.
The sales woman came out. Paul walked up to her and handed her his credit card, and explained to the woman that it was for Mindy’s purchases. The saleswoman nodded and headed back into the dressing room. Glancing at his watch again, Paul headed off at a dead run toward the doors. They were going to be late for the soundcheck. The lads had already caught a cab and were waiting for him. He hopped in and the cab took off. Staring out the window, he thought of the conversation he’d heard. What could she possibly be keeping from him? Somehow he didn’t think it could be all that bad. Could she be running from the law? A boyfriend? A husband? This was going to make him crazy until she told him. He was determined to find out as soon as possible.

Oh..such impatience. Don't worry, it's coming.
“So…what’s the big secret?” Meagan asked as she helped Mindy with a black dress.
“I will tell you in a private time, with no listening ears…later. It’s very important that you tell no one, else I could be in terrible danger.” Mindy whispered.
“This sounds bad.” Meagan replied. “If it’s really bad you should go to my mom. She’ll help you out.” Meagan zipped up the back of the dress.
“I shall think about it…thank you Meagan and you too Kristine. I feel so much better having friends here.” Mindy turned and looked in the mirror.
“Oh yeah…that is a definite YES.” Kristine looked her over. “And…I think you should wear it tonight to the concert.”
“It’s so short! My knees show! Are there trousers that go on under this?” Mindy looked at herself in the mirror. She noticed the v-neck of the dress and covered herself with her hands. “My bosoms are showing!”
“And your bosoms are perfect!!!! This dress is perfect!!! Believe me, everyone woman needs a little black dress in their wardrobe and you could not find a more perfect dress for you. Honestly Mindy, it’s not that short and not that low cut. You’re just not used to wearing a dress like this…there are some women that wear their dresses shorter and lower.” Kristine explained.
“We could get her some really nice hose to wear, maybe she would feel better about it. And shoes…she would need a new pair of shoes. Better yet! Red shoes…with a red scarf, since she doesn’t care for the neckline…at least until she sees that she is dressed the same as everyone else.” Meagan suggested.
“Hmmm…” Kristine walked around her. “Mindy, your hair is very long. Have you ever considered cutting it shorter?”
“I have never cut it. It is such a trial to keep the tangles from it, I must keep it in a braid or a bun at all times. I would like to cut it off.” Mindy said.
“I’m sure there is a hair salon in this mall. When we’re finished let’s go see if they have time to trim it up.” Kristine suggested.
“I would like that.” Mindy smiled. “Thank you for everything. I am so happy that Damian suggested that we be friends.” She gave them both a big hug, something that Mindy would never do normally, but she felt close to these two. She knew that she could trust them.
After trying on several clothes, choosing a few and leaving the rest, the girls purchased the clothes with Paul’s credit card and headed out to the mall. On the way to the salon they passed a shoe store with the most perfect pair of red shoes sitting in the window. Mindy tried them on. She wasn’t used to walking on heels and practically fell on her face. Meagan and Kristine assured her that with practice she wouldn’t have any problem. They bought the shoes along with a pair of black hose.
Next stop was the salon. Mindy was led to a chair and a large drape was wrapped around her. She couldn’t stop staring at the woman who was going to cut her hair. She had pink hair that stuck out all over her head. She also had pieces of metal stuck in her nose, ears, eyebrows, and lip. Mindy wasn’t sure but she thought she saw metal stuck in her tongue. She suddenly didn’t want to be sitting there; would this woman do this to her?
“Okay…so what are you wanting to do with your hair today?” The woman smiled at her.
“Uh…I have changed my mind…I do not want my hair cut.” Mindy started to get up.
“Hold on a minute, Mindy.” Meagan saw the fear in Mindy’s eyes. She turned to the hairdresser. “Could you give us a minute?”
“Mindy, what’s the matter? I thought you wanted your hair cut?” Meagan asked.
“No..I do not want my hair to look like that.” Mindy pointed to the hairdresser.
“Well of course not! She won’t do that to you! That is just the way she wears her hair. Some people like to wear their hair like that, but she will just cut yours the way you want it cut. See like mine? I wouldn’t like my hair cut like that either, so I just keep it trimmed up.” Meagan explained.
“OK…but don’t leave me. You stay and watch her so she doesn’t cut too much and make it pink.” Mindy told Meagan.
“Of course I will.” Meagan grabbed Mindy’s good hand. “I promise I won’t let her do anything weird to your hair.”
With that promise, Mindy sat back down.
They decided to cut her hair right at the middle of her back, then layer it out to give the hair some body. The hairdresser cut off about 10 inches of her braid, then combed out her hair. While Mindy was getting a shampoo, something that Mindy thought was glorious; Kristine went out in search of a red scarf for the dress.
Mindy was turned around so she couldn’t see the mirror, but she did see all the hair falling to the floor. She was getting nervous as each lock of hair hit the ground. Meagan stood in front of her and comforted held her hand, assuring her that she still had plenty of hair left. Then the hairdresser pulled out a hairdryer and turned it on, pointing it at Mindy’s head. Mindy flew out of the chair in terror.
“Okay…I think she’s had enough. We don’t need you to dry it.” Meagan hooked her arm around Mindy’s waist and walked her toward the mirror. When Mindy looked at herself she was amazed. Even though her hair was still damp, you could almost see it start to curl…and her head felt so light! Mindy smiled…she really liked the new hair style. She shook her head back and forth and let her hair fly.
“I thank you very much.” She said to the hairdresser.
“You’re welcome, Mindy. It really looks pretty and it will be really easy to take care of. Just use this shampoo and conditioner like I showed you, and your hair will look shiny and healthy.”
Meagan and Mindy paid for the haircut and headed out to the mall. Meagan pulled out her cell phone and called Kristine to find out where she was at. Mindy watched her curiously. When Meagan hung up she looked at Mindy’s questioning eyes. She sighed and handed the phone to her.
“It’s a telephone. It allows you to call someone and talk to them from far away.” Meagan explained.
“How far away?” Mindy looked at the phone and pressed some buttons.
“Anywhere you want…and yes, even Ireland. As long as you have a telephone number, you can talk to anyone.” Meagan said.
“Tis wonderous!” Mindy replied.
The girls went to find Kristine, who was just purchasing a red scarf. Kristine screamed and laughed happily when she saw Mindy’s hair.
“You look gorgeous! I’m jealous.” Kristine exclaimed and hugged her.
“Well, I can’t believe I’m saying this but I am too pooped to shop anymore…let’s go back to the hotel and stuff ourselves with pizza.” Meagan suggested. All the girls agreed, so with hands full of bags, they headed out to get a cab and go back to the Hilton.

Sorry for the long wait...updates should be coming a bit faster now. Thanks for the patience. ;D
The girls finally made it back to the Hilton. Walking through the lobby, they headed to the elevator. Mindy stopped dead when she saw the elevator doors open.
“What is this?” She asked suspiciously.
“Really Mindy, it’s okay. It’s an elevator, like a car that takes people to whatever floor they are staying on. We’re on the 6th floor. So we go in and push 6 and it will take us there. It’s okay, and kind of fun.” Meagan explained and she walked on the elevator and held the doors. “Mindy walked on and the doors shut. The look on Mindy’s face as the elevator moved caused both girls to laugh, making Mindy smile uncertainly. The doors opened and the girls carried their packages down the hall to their room. Mindy watched as Meagan slid the card into the lock and opened the door.
“MOM!!!! Are you here?” Meagan yelled.
“Hey! All done shopping?” A older woman walked through the door of a connecting door. She looked a bit like Meagan, only blonde and Mindy thought she was beautiful.
“Mom this is Mindy, Paul’s friend. Mindy…this is Mom…or I guess Perri to you.” Meagan said.
“Mindy! It’s so good to meet you. I’m so happy that you are coming to stay with us for awhile.” Perri took Mindy’s hand and squeezed it, sensing Mindy was shy. “Oh my Lord…what happened to your hand?”
“I cut it this morn. Paul and George took me to have it stitched. It’s nice to meet you.” Mindy replied.
“Oh, I’m so sorry. We’ll have to take a look at it later to make sure it isn’t getting infected. Does it hurt much” She set her arm around Mindy’s shoulders and led her to the bed.
“Not too badly, the needle they put in my arm hurts worse. They gave me a shot for tet…” Mindy couldn’t remember what the shot was for.
“Tetanus shots do hurt. Anyway, I bet you’re going to want to clean up. Kristine, why don’t you show Mindy the bathroom and help her.” Perri suggested.
Kristine let Mindy to the bathroom, showing her the shower and tub, explaining how it worked.
“Such a large tub! I would love to bathe. The doctor told me I should not get my hand wet.” Mindy explained. She also needed willow bark to clean her teeth but assumed there was something better now. Not knowing what to expect back, she tentatively asked. “I need to cleanse my teeth, is there something I can use?”
“Oh, the hotel provides complimentary toothbrushes for people who forget them. I’ll call down for one. Here are some bath salts you can use. Just sprinkle them in the water and they will dissolve.” Kristine started the water in the tub and set the plug. She helped Mindy get undressed and put up her hair in a messy bun since Mindy was one handed, then promised to come back with the toothbrush, first explaining about toothpaste and making sure Mindy didn’t swallow but spit.
When the door finally closed behind Kristine, Mindy felt a little relieved to finally be alone. She was alone most of her life and all this activity and all new things were starting to wear her down. She sprinkled the bath salts in the running water; the smell of lavender filled the air. Lavender, finally something she recognized. She had used it many times with her patients. It helped to calm nerves and it was exactly what she needed right now. Carefully climbing into the big tub, she lay back and relaxed in the hot water. Now this is something she could get used to.
The six lads walked into the Hilton and headed to the elevators. They caused quite a disturbance as they walked through the lobby. Several fans that were staying there stopped what they were doing and stared; even people who didn’t know who they were stared at the tall gorgeous men crossing the lobby. While waiting for the elevator a young man approached his arms full of pizzas.
“You headed to 652?” Damian asked.
“Yeah.” The delivery kid answered.
“Hey…we’re going there too. We can take those for you. How much do we owe you?” Keith and Damian grabbed the pizzas from the kid.
The four left all pulled out their wallets and contributed to the cause.
The first thing Paul noticed when he walked into the hotel room was that Mindy was not there. His concern must have shown on his face because Meagan immediately explained that Mindy was in the bathroom cleaning up. Meagan’s mom walked in from the connecting room and welcomed the lads, hugging them like they were her lost children. The pizza was set out on the table and everyone dug in. Damian, Meagan, Kristine, and Ryan went to the connecting room and started playing video games. Keith and Neil turned on the TV and sat back on the bed, stuffing their faces with pizza. Paul, George and Perri sat comfortably at the table. Paul’s eyes kept darting to the bathroom door, waiting to see Mindy. He found that he’d missed her, just the few hours he’d been away.
“Maybe someone should check on Mindy.” Paul announced.
“She’s fine Paul, she’ll be out soon. From what I heard, they had quite a time at the shopping mall. They spent quite a bit of your money too, I’m afraid.” Perri told him.
Paul lifted his shoulders in a nonchalant way.
“It’s okay, that’s what I expected. I’m looking forward to seeing what they bought.” He bit into his pizza. Just then the bathroom door opened and out walked Mindy. His heart jumped at the sight of her. She was dressed in his t-shirt and sweats again and looked a bit flushed from the heat of the bathroom. Her hair was piled up on the back of her head in a messy knot. She never looked lovelier. He noticed that she held her sweats up, just like the night before. He got up and walked to her.
“Need some help?” He smiled.
“I’m afraid I cannot tie these with one hand. I don’t want to lose them again.” Mindy blushed and giggled when she remembered what happened. Paul laughed too.
“May I tie them for you? I promise I won’t look.” He smiled.
“If you do not look, how can you tie?” she smiled at him and his heart flipped.
“Well now…let’s see what we have here.” He pushed up the t-shirt a little and found the strings, pulling them tight and tying them in a bow. “There you go.”
“I thank you kind sir, I would not like my sweats falling to the floor again.” Mindy laughed.
“Well, I hope you aren’t wearing those big underwear anymore.” Smiled Paul.
“Sir…we shall not discuss undergarments here. Tis in…” Mindy started.
“I know…I know…Tis indecent.” Paul smiled and pulled her into a hug. She smelled of wildflowers and fit just perfectly in her arms. “I missed you. So how was your bath, did you enjoy it?”
“Oh Paul, you should see the size of the tub. It was so large it could fit 2 people. I almost didn’t want to come out of it. And the soap smells so good and lathers so soft” Mindy smiled.
“Yes…well, I don’t think I’ve ever enjoyed a bath as much as that.” Paul smiled.
“Well you have never had to bathe in a small round tub or a stream then. It must be indecent to have such luxury.” Mindy thought about that.
“I expect most everyone has a bathtub, Mindy, even the Pope. So I wouldn’t call a bathtub indecent or a luxury. Are you ready to eat some pizza?” Paul asked.
“I am assuming pizza is something to eat. By the way, where is Captain? Did you bring her with you?” Mindy asked.
“Captain is currently the queen of the bus; I’ll bring her around after the show, ok?”
“I have missed my friend; I hope she hasn’t been a trial to your friends.”
As they headed to the table, Mindy noted the television set.
“What is this?” Mindy asked her eyes wide with wonder.
“It’s a television.” Paul told her. Keith jumped in to explain what a television was and showed her the remote and how to switch channels. Paul handed her a piece of pizza which she ate seemingly without tasting it, because she was too interested it the different channels on the television. He watched her as she laughed with Keith and Neil, falling for her even more. He liked how she would look over at him once in awhile; giving him a special smile that told him she hadn’t forgotten about him. He would wink at her and make her blush and she would turn away smiling. Before too long it was time to head back to the theater to get ready for the show. Paul handed two tickets to Perri, so Mindy would get front row seats.
“I will see you after the show. I hope you enjoy it.” Paul hugged her goodbye.
“I am sure I shall love the show, you have such a beautiful voice.” Mindy said.
The guys all walked out of the room.
“Well….the room seems so much bigger with the lads gone. Okay ladies…time to get ready for the show.” Perri announced. All the girls giggled, excited about the night ahead.

Okay Mindy, here is your update...you can unlock the ball and chain now. ;D Thanks everyone for the great comments...I really am excited that everyone likes the story. You definitely inspire me to write more. Thank you all!!!!!
The room was in chaos as everyone got ready for the concert. Hair dryers, curling irons, makeup, hose, shoes, clothes and excitement filled the room.
Mindy sat in a chair, while Perri tortured her hair with odd hot appliances; the purpose of those appliances Mindy had no clue. While Perri worked, Mindy told her about her shopping experience that day.
“I was not going to disrobe in front of strangers. Then Kristine had an idea. She told Meagan to take her clothes off down to her underclothes so I would not feel alone.” Mindy explained. “Then Meagan told her if she had to undress, then so then Kristine would have to. Just watching them made me laugh, which got them laughing, then of course they saw the underthings I had on, which brought on more laughter.”
“Yeah mom, then Paul comes, pounding on the dressing room door like we were killing Mindy or something. Geez….he walked right back to the dressing rooms of Victoria’s Secret!” Meagan added giggling.
“He certainly is protective of you.” Perri answered. “It sounds like you had fun and I see you bought some really nice things. Now let’s see how you look.”
Perri stepped around and checked out her work; inspecting Mindy from head to toe.
“Hmmm…I think a little make-up and we’ll call her good.” She said.
Perri reached for some make-up to put on Mindy, but Mindy stopped her.
“No, I do not want to be made up.” Mindy said firmly.
“Mindy, I won’t put much on, just enough to enhance.” Perri replied.
“No, I would rather you did not.” Mindy firmly replied.
“Okay…that’s fine. You’re beautiful no matter what.” Perri smiled and hugged her. “I’m so glad you’re going to stay with us Mindy.”
“Thank-you for letting me stay with you.” Mindy hugged her back. Perri turned her to the mirror. Mindy almost didn’t recognize the woman in the mirror. Her hair, normally pulled back in a bun or braid, fell softly around her face like a cloud, soft and curly. The rest of her body, usually covered by one of her work dresses, was neatly outlined in a black dress, Her legs, normally not seen by any human eye, were encased in black hose. She felt uncomfortable, but she had seen many women with less on.
“Mindy, put your shoes on; is everyone ready?” Perri called to the other girls.
Mindy put on the hated shoes. The heels were high, but Meagan and Kristine assured her that they were not that high and she would get used to them. Never had she thought she would wear red shoes with heels. She stood up. Her ankles felt like rubber, bending back and forth.
“Mindy! You’re so beautiful! Paul is going to be wowed!” Meagan told her. They headed to the theater, Mindy on wobbly feet.
The lobby at the theater was full of people. Meagan explained that they were called Thunderheads because they were great fans of the show Celtic Thunder and big fans of the lads. Mindy was introduced to so many people, her head swam. Meagan and Kristine introduced her as a friend of Paul’s, which caused quite a stir making Mindy the center of attention. A place Mindy would rather not have been. Her feet were hurting and she felt self-conscience the way it was. Finally it was time to move into the theater. Mindy’s tickets were on the side in the front row. Meagan volunteered to sit with her during the first half and Kristine would take the second half. Finally the lights went down, and the music came up. Mist formed on stage. Mindy panicked, thinking there was a fire but Meagan explained it was part of the show. The lads emerged on stage singing. Mindy was amazed. Their voices blended so well, each with their own sound yet seemingly sounding like one. Each lad took turns moving to Mindy and Meagan’s side of the stage, each of the lads smiled when they spotted them, Ryan giving them a wink and George a little wave. Paul however did not come to that side of the stage. Mindy’s eyes were glued to him whenever he sang. She thought he was wonderful, his voice bringing tears to her eyes. Finally, the last song of the first half, he headed toward her side. He seemed to be searching for her, finally spotting her in the front row at the side. A look of shock crossed his face, before he grinned broadly and gave her a wink. Mindy blushed as her heart pounded. He was so beautiful she knew in her heart, she loved him from that moment.
The end of the first act brought the lights up. Everyone stood to stretch talking excitedly between themselves. Meagan was asking her how she liked the show so far when she suddenly quieted along with everyone around her. Following Meagan’s eyes, Mindy turned to look behind her. Paul had walked out from behind the side curtain and headed toward her, murmuring hellos and thank yous to fans along the way. Finally he reached Mindy.
“Can I talk to you a minute?” He asked as he grabbed her hand and started moving back toward the side curtain. Mindy tried to follow as fast as he was moving, but her high-heeled feet just weren’t cooperating. She felt herself start to fall forward. Many Thunderhead hands reached out to catch her. Paul, finally figured out something was up turned just as Mindy landed into the arms of the first row of spectators.
“Oh Lord, I’m so sorry Mindy; thank you ladies for catching my girl.” He gave the rescuers his most charming smile, then picked Mindy up in his arms and carried her off to the side of the stage. Mindy hid her face into the side of his neck, embarrassed beyond belief. Murmurs and sighs could be heard from the audience as he moved behind the side curtain.
“You have just embarrassed me, how can I go back in there. People will stare.” Mindy scolded him.
He didn’t seem to hear her. He was mesmerized by the new Mindy.
“You cut your hair. I can’t believe it’s you, you look so different. I like it.” Paul dug his hand into her hair and let it fall. “What is up with the shoes?” He looked down at the dreaded red shoes.
“I am unused to them, it is hard for me to walk but Meagan and Kristine said I would get used to them.” Mindy looked down at the instruments of torture.
Paul bent down and lifted one foot, pulling off the shoe, then threw it behind him. The shoe flew across the stage. He did the same with the other shoe, it too landing in the middle of the stage. Mindy could hear laughter from the audience as a stage hand ran out to pick them up. Paul gave each abused foot a little rub bringing back the circulation. Mindy moaned in pleasure sure that she was now in heaven.
“I do not know how I will get home with no shoes, but right now I do not care.” Mindy smiled down at him. “You’re my hero.”
“Twas my pleasure my lady.” Paul stood and looked into her eyes. “And now for my boon.” He gently lifted her chin and bent his head kissing her softly. “I need to go get ready for the second half. How do you like the show so far?” He whispered into her mouth.
“I love the show, but I like this rest time better.” Mindy whispered back.
Paul laughed loudly.
“I will find you after the show. Just stay at your seat and I’ll come get you. We’ll do something after the show, just you and me. Okay?” Paul kissed her lightly again.
Mindy nodded.
“Okay, but now how do I get back to my seat without being seen and with no shoes?” Mindy smiled.
“Here I am, your hero at your service.” Paul picked her up and carried her back to her seat to much laughter, hoots, and whistles from the audience. Mindy thought her face would be red throughout all eternity.

Hey everyone....heres another update. Sorry about the wait.
The rest of the show was just as entertaining as the first half. Mindy laughed and clapped with the rest of the audience. Paul sang and danced a silly song that made Mindy laugh out loud. Ryan pretended he was a bad guy named Leroy Brown. Mindy clapped with the crowd. Damian sang about wanting to go home that brought on a strange longing for her simpler life. Keith jumped around singing about girls with a strange instrument in his hand. The dancing girls behind him made Mindy blush much to Kristine’s laughter. Whenever Paul would walk by her, he would wink or smile at her, which made the ladies sitting by her scream also making Mindy blush and smile. Mindy realized she was having fun as was the crowd. And the lads seemed to be having as much fun as the crowd. No wonder all those women loved the lads, it was because the lads loved the audience and it showed.
After the last song was over, everyone stood and talked among themselves. Many women talked to Mindy, asking her about Paul and if they were together. Mindy just smiled and nodded. She wasn’t sure how to answer that. Soon a man came and tapped Mindy on the shoulder.
“Excuse me mam. Paul asked me to come and get you. Will you follow me?” He asked her.
“Go ahead, Mindy. Have a great time. Megs and I will be waiting up for you! You have to tell us everything!” Kristine whispered in her ear and hugged her.
Mindy hugged her back. She was getting used to this hugging thing. Turning she followed the man backstage. The maze of sets and people running around amazed her. The young man led her down a hallway and stopped to knock on a door. “Come in.” She heard a reply from inside. The young man opened the door and Mindy entered the small room. Ryan was seated in front of a mirror, wiping a cloth over his face.
“Hey Mindy, how did you like the show?” He asked standing to hug her.
“I enjoyed the show very much.” Mindy replied. “I liked the “Hallelujah” song, you sang very well.”
“Well thank you. I like the new look.” Ryan reached up and ran his hand down her hair. “Your hair is beautiful. You did something different to it. And that dress…very nice.”
“Thank you back. Meagan and Kristine did it all, I tried on the clothes and they told me “yes” or “no”. Meagan’s mom helped me with my hair.” Mindy blushed and nervously looked around for Paul.
“He’ll be out shortly, he’s changing.” Ryan seemed to know what she was thinking. He ran his finger down her cheek. “Your lovely Mindy. ”
Mindy was at a loss for words. She turned still as stone not knowing how to handle this situation. Just then Paul opened the door. He was just buttoning up his shirt when he saw Ryan with Mindy and stopped dead in his tracks. Mindy turned toward him with a smile, her face red and a bit guilty looking.
“So Paul…are you sure you and Mindy won’t go to the club with us. It promises to be a good time.” Ryan walked over to pick up his coat and put it on.
“No…I have plans lined up already; unless Mindy would like to go? How about it Mindy? Do you want to go with Ryan to the club?” Paul gave Mindy a hard glare.
“I thought we were to do something together? Do you want to go?” Mindy asked back. She was unsure what was going on and didn’t like being in the middle of it.
“Sorry Ryan, we have plans, but have a great time.” Paul put his hand on Mindy’s back and steered her out the door.
Mindy stopped in the hall, looking down at her stockinged feet.
“I need shoes.” She looked at Paul.
“You won’t need shoes where we’re going.” Paul chucked her chin and smiled secretly. “Let’s go…I have a limo waiting.”

The following would be my personal dream date with Paul.. ;D. But I will let Mindy have it. That's just how good of a friend I am! Love ya Mindy!
“Let’s go…I have a limo waiting.” Out by the curb, a long white car waited with a man standing next to it. When he saw Paul and Mindy, he opened the door to let them in. Mindy of course was amazed. The seats were smooth leather and there were little buttons to push everywhere. She immediately began trying each and every one of them out. When she found the button to open the roof, she turned to Paul and smiled.
“Tis wondrous Paul! Truly, I could never have dreamed such things existed!” Mindy stuck her hand out the roof of the car.
Paul smiled. His plan seemed to be working perfectly. The plan he had been working on all afternoon to get Mindy to tell him her secret. Distraction, wooing, and champagne; his three weapons of choice to get her to tell him everything. It was driving him crazy, the not knowing. He had a bad feeling his Mindy was in trouble and he was determined to find out what that trouble was and save her.
He looked over to the bubbly…waiting in ice. Taking the bottle, he unwrapped it and popped it open.
“What is this?” Mindy asked.
“Just something to help celebrate our first date.” Paul replied. He poured the champagne into a glass and handed it to her. Then filled one for himself.
“I do not drink spirits…tis sinful.” Mindy looked at the glass of bubbly liquid.
“It’s not really spirits…just champagne. We drink it to celebrate big occasions. One won’t hurt you.” Paul clinked his glass with hers. She took a sip and wriggled her nose.
“The bubbles tickle my nose.” She giggled. “But it is very good.”
Paul brought out the basket of food that he had the limo company supply for them. The basket had assorted fruit, cheese and crackers in it. He fixed a small plate for them and set it out on a little table by the seat, while Mindy sipped her champagne.
“Where are we going?” she asked.
“I told the driver to drive toward the Cape. Have you ever seen the ocean?” he asked.
“No…I’ve never been very far away from my cabin.” Mindy sipped again.
“Then look Mindy, you can see it now.” He put his arm around her and pointed out the window. There was the ocean in the moonlight, stretched out before her.
“Tis a wondrous thing, God has made.” Mindy whispered in awe.
“Yes…it’s a beautiful sight.” But Paul wasn’t looking at the ocean, he was looking at Mindy.
Paul and Mindy ate the cheese and fruit. Paul refilled Mindy’s glass of champagne. Two glasses should just about do it, or so he thought. Mindy was already getting giggly and her words were beginning to slur. The limo slowed down, turned around and pulled off to the side of the road. The window lowered.
“Sir, we have come to a spot where you can go down and walk on the beach.” The driver informed Paul.
“Thank you, John.” Paul answered. Perfect!
The driver got out and walked around, opening the door for Paul and Mindy.
“I thought you might like to walk along the beach.” Paul told Mindy.
“Yes! I would love that….but I don’t have any shoes.” Mindy looked down and wriggled her toes. Paul got out of the car and took her hand to help her out of the car.
“Well now, looks like you’re hero is here to save the day again.” Paul scooped her up and headed down to the water line. He set her down on the beach.
Mindy walked down to the water’s edge and spread her arms wide, closing her eyes. Paul was sure it was his imagination but the wind seemed to pick up and the waves seemed to get larger. The wind blew her hair back as she raised her face to the sky. A moonbeam outlined her like a spotlight, her skin sparkling as the light embraced her in a warm glow. She looked like a goddess being welcomed by her loyal subjects; the wind, the sea and the moon. In a blink of an eye, the vision disappeared. Mindy turned and smiled.
“Thank you for bringing me here. It’s lovely.” She told him.
“Have I ever told you about the fairy hills in my country? If I were in Ireland right this minute, I would think you were a fairy.” Paul put his arm around her shoulders and started walking down the beach.
“Why would you think that?” She crossed her arms in front of her to keep the chill of the sea breeze away.
“Well back in Ireland there are hills called “fairy hills”. It is said that great kingdoms of fairies live underneath the hills. Now the “wee folk” are a mischievous lot and like to play tricks on unsuspecting people. They fly around at night and can put people in spells, taking them down to their kingdom. If a human eats or drinks anything in the fairy kingdom, they will be trapped forever in the fairy world. I think you have put a spell on me because you are all I think about. I drank from your lips and am now forever trapped in your world; a world that I never want to leave.” Paul tipped her chin up and lightly touched her lips with his. Mindy looked into his very blue eyes, breathless and shivering.
“I’m sorry….you’re cold! I brought a blanket; be right back.” He smiled and turned, running up to the limo. He was soon back with a blanket in one hand and 2 glasses and the rest of the champagne in the other. He shook out the blanket and set it around Mindy’s shoulders. Throwing his arm around her shoulders he led her down the beach. He found a large log and sat against it. Mindy next to him, leaning her head on his shoulder. Paul wrapped her up tightly next to him…poured another glass of champagne for her and then another for him. Now…let’s see if he could get her to spill the big secret.

Nope CB...it's not time yet. But soon! LOL Just be patient. I have the ending all written....now if I can just get there. ;D Paul is being very devious..and is about to learn his lesson!!! Enjoy.
Mindy sat next to him, leaning her head on his shoulder. Paul wrapped her up tightly next to him…poured another glass of champagne for her and then another for him. Now…let’s see if he could get her to spill the big secret.
“Are you warm enough then?” He asked as he watched her sip.
“Tis very nice here.” She answered. Mindy started to feel a bit dizzy and lightheaded.
“So Mindy, you never really told me about yourself except you lived with your grandmother and your cottage burned down. Is there a boyfriend or husband in your past?” Paul casually asked.
“HA!!! BURNED DOWN??? It was fired by idiots!” Mindy said loudly. “Ignorant fools who follow a pontificating pig of a man! Man of God??? HA!!!”
“Wow Love...sounds like you didn’t like him much.” Paul encouraged her to talk.
“You speak the truth…he wanted me to marry him! Like I would marry that toad.” Mindy yawned loudly and laid her head on Paul’s shoulder. “I don’t feel so good.”
“So…you were telling me about the toad. Did he hurt you? Did you do something to him?” Paul asked her softly as he rubbed his hand over her hair.
“I gave him a face full of warts…well that was an accident, but I think it was fate. Do you believe in fate?” Mindy asked.
“I believe it was fate that we met.” Paul said. “So what happened to the man?”
"I pushed him in the lake." Mindy giggled.
“You should have seen his warty face,Paul..with his arms flying in circles…like this!” Mindy stood up and started waving her arms..making a eyes big with her mouth wide open. The champagne made her start to lose her balance. Paul immediately stood up to catch her before she fell. Laughing he hugged her to him.
“You sure took care of that worm…love. Remind me not to get on your bad side. Getting pushed in the lake for asking you to marry him.” Paul kissed her lightly on the lips.
“Oh…I didn’t push him in the lake for that. I pushed him in the lake for trying to drown me for being a witch.” Mindy knew her mistake the minute she said it. She quickly looked down at the ground.
“The man tried to KILL YOU!!!!! Did you call the police??? Jesus…what is this guy’s name? I’ll pound him until he can’t stand…then finish drowning him, myself!” Paul started pacing.
Mindy quickly ran to him and wrapped her arms around him.
“No Paul…he is no matter of importance now. He’s dead….no..do not say it! He did not die by my hand.” Mindy hugged Paul to her and he finally settled down.
“Let’s go walk down by the water. You might want to take off your stockings though…they will get soaked.” Paul suggested as he cupped Mindy’s face in his hand.
A little smile touched Mindy’s face.
“I would love to walk.” Mindy sat down and started tugging off her stockings. Paul sat down next to her and took off his shoes and socks also. Meanwhile…a tipsy Mindy was having a bit of a problem trying to get the stockings to cooperate. She decided to stand and try…telling Paul not to look. Pulling her dress up, she got them down about halfway, before she fell down on the beach. Laughing…Paul asked her if she needed any help. The darn things would not go down! She tried pulling both sides down at once…then one at a time. Finally Paul stepped in and took hold of the top of the panty hose and pulled. The stockings finally pulled free making him fall backward in the sand.
Laughing…Mindy ran toward the waterline. Paul got up and ran after her, catching her and hugging her to him.
“You know what the best thing about beaches and a warm night?” Paul asked softly while nibbling on her lips.
“What would that be?” Mindy asked back.
“Swimming!” He said as he scooped her up and headed to the water line..smiling as he went.
“STOP!!! DON’T YOU DARE….PAUL!!!” Mindy laughed when he smiled deviously and walked right into the water…clothes and all. “I can’t swim!!!! Don’t get me wet!”
“Then you better hold on tight cuz….” He pretended to almost drop her and he walked farther out into the water. Mindy held on tight laughing and screaming when the water hit her rear. Still he moved deeper into the water. Soon the water was up to her chest and she hung on for dear life. Holding her close he kissed her again. Then dunked her in. “You try to drown me like the toad?” She laughed as she came up. “Then pay the price…remember what I did to him?” Mindy then went under. Paul looked around wondering where she went. Just when he started to get worried..he felt her grab his legs and yank. Down he went under the water. Mindy was laughing when he came up.
“I thought you said you couldn’t swim?” He said.
“Okay…so I lied. I will pray for forgiveness tomorrow.” Mindy laughed then splashed him in the face and swam away. He gave chase, catching her in his arms and holding her…kissing her until she was breathless.
“Mindy…I …” Paul wanted to tell her…wanted to tell her how he felt about her. But somehow the words just wouldn’t come out. He loved her. He was sure of that, but he was so afraid to tell her.
“I think we should get out of this water before we freeze to death.” He scooped her up and started to carry her in. When they got to the blanket, both were shivering with cold. Paul scooped up the blanket and shook out the sand. Roughly he started drying off Mindy. He wrapped the blanket around the both of them and headed back to the limo.
“Maybe this wasn’t such a good idea.” Paul said as they walked quickly shivering with cold.
They made it back to the car. The driver stood by the car waiting. In his hands he held two sets of dry clothes.
“John! You are a life saver. How did you know?” Paul took the clothes from the driver.
“Sir…I have been a driver for a very long time. This situation has happened more than once. I always try to be prepared for all situations.” The driver answered.
“Well, John…you have just earned yourself a huge bonus.” Paul smiled.
“Very good sir. Perhaps the lady would like to change in the car…and you out here?” John suggested.
Mindy kissed John right on the lips. She had never felt so cold and this man was a savior.
“Thank you sir. You are most kind and wonderful.” She picked up a set of clothes and entered the car.
“Man…I could kiss you on the lips myself.” Paul said as he started stripping off his wet clothes.
“Yes sir…I don’t recommend you try that.” John the driver answered.
Laughing Paul got himself dressed.

The limo pulled up to the hotel. Paul sat with Mindy curled up against him. It was a fun night and he hated to see it end. His bus was leaving in the middle of the night for the next show, and Mindy was headed to Omaha, Nebraska. He was going to miss her; quite a lot in fact. “Hey…love. We’re back at the hotel.” He whispered in her ear. She opened her eyes and smiled at him. His heart nearly broke at the thought of leaving her.
“We need to get Captain.” She said sleepily.
“Captain should be happily sleeping in your bed right this minute with food, litter box and a few new cat toys that the lads got her. George volunteered to bring her over after the show.
“Please give my thanks to George since it seems I won’t see him again.” Mindy looked down at her hands. Tears were beginning to form in her eyes. She didn’t want Paul to see her cry.
“Oh…I’ll give him the message, but I’m sure you’ll see him again. And you’ll see me again too my love…I promise you.” He tipped her chin up and lightly kissed her lips.
“Are you sure Paul? You do not say that to make me feel better?” She searched his face.
“How can I forget you, Mindy? You’re firmly lodged right here in my brain…thoughts of you are constantly rattling around this empty head.” He smiled and chucked her chin. “Then there’s my heart…which beats only for you.”
“Oh Paul!!!! I love you too!” Mindy threw her arms around him and clung there unable to let go.
Paul closed his eyes and savored the moment. It would be a long time before he got the chance to hold her again.
“Now…we need to get you to your room and I need to get to the bus before it leaves me behind.” He opened the door and helped Mindy out. They both walked slowly in the hotel, knowing it would be the last time in a long time they would be together.

Mindy was still in a daze after Paul’s farewell kiss at the door. Meagan had let her into the room and the door had barely closed behind her before the girls started asking questions.
“Oh My God!!! Where have you been? We’ve been waiting for hours!” Both girls had their pajamas on and seated themselves on the side of the bed….waiting for details.
“Did you have fun? What did you do? Where did he take you? What happened to your new dress and where whose clothes are you wearing?” The questions kept coming. Mindy smiled at Captain who added to the chaos with loud meows and rubbing up against her legs with her whole body. She bent down and picked up her friend, hugging her to her breast and burying her face into the warm fur.
“Hello my friend…I’ve missed you too.” Mindy whispered. Captain pressed the top of her head against Mindy’s chin purred loudly.
“Well….tell us…everything!” Kristine could barely contain her excitement. “We saw you leave in the black limo.”
Mindy smiled and sat on the bed and began her story. They laughed when she told them about swimming in the ocean and how Paul had dunked her in and her revenge.
“So…did you tell him your secret?” Meagan asked.
“Well…it sort of slipped out but I don’t think he really heard it. He was too busy being upset about the man who tried to drown me.” Mindy answered.
“DROWN YOU!!! Some man tried to DROWN YOU???” Kristine crossed her legs on the bed and listened attentively. “Okay…spill it! What is going on?”
Mindy didn’t hesitate. She trusted these girls like her own sisters. So she started at the beginning.
“I was born a witch…in a family of witches…in the year…..1662.” Mindy began. She smiled at the wide eyed gasps and started the telling of a long story.
The girls listened attentively, asking questions here and there. When Mindy was finished, Meagan asked her to show them something.
“Well…I can only do simple things without my book of spells…” she stopped…stunned. “Oh no…oh no..OH NO!!!!” Mindy stood and started to pace. “What’s the matter?” Meagan asked.
“My Grandmother’s Book of Spells!!!! It’s in the pocket of my dress!!! On the bus!!!! Oh no...what if Paul finds it? I have to get that book back!” Mindy looked at the girls with a helpless look.
“Well….that bus is on the way to Pennsylvania right now.” Meagan stated much to Mindy’s dismay.
“We are just going to have to go get that book.” Kristine said. “ The question is; how can we catch up to the bus?”

I'm thinking this story could go on and on and on and on...LOL. Ok... so here is an update that might even surprise Mindy. Please let me know if you like. I do listen to you. Anyway...here it is...happy reading. ;D
Kristine had immediately called down to the desk and arranged for a rental car to be waiting the next morning. The next major obstacle; Meagan’s mom, who was not going to be easy to persuade to let them go off by themselves without a good reason. After much discussion, the girls finally realized that Meagan’s mom would have to be told the honest truth before she would relent.
“My mom will be pretty cool about the witch thing. She is into all the “woo woo” stuff.” Meagan said confidently. “Anyway, she can always tell when I’m lying. She can read me like a book.”
“You’re probably going to have to prove that you are a witch though.” Added Kristine. “Is there anything that you can do?”
“Well, I am a witch, but be aware…I’m not very reliable with my spells. Even my grandmother gave up on me.” Mindy answered hesitantly. “Maybe I can come up with something simple and not mess it up.”
After much debate Mindy decided that perhaps she could change the plant that was in the room to roses. It seemed easy enough. Mindy sat on the bed and tried to remember the spell from her childhood days, while Meagan went in to wake up her mother.
Perri came into the room behind Meagan with a worried look on her face.
“What’s the matter girls? Is someone hurt?” she asked looking over each of the girls and mentally checking each one out for injuries.
“Mom…we need to get to the CT bus and get something of Mindy’s out of it. It’s very important to Mindy.” Meagan started explaining. “Mindy…tell her.”
Mindy was nervous. She was unused to so many people knowing her secret. These people were strangers to her only a few days ago, yet they knew her better than anyone besides her grandmother. Mindy started telling her story again, with Kristine holding one hand and Meagan on the other side holding the other. Perri plopped herself down in a chair in front of Mindy in disbelief as the story continued through the trial, almost drowning and the head- on collision with the CT bus.
“Mindy…it’s very hard to believe this!” Perri replied when she was done.
“We know Mom…that’s why Mindy is going to show you some magic..so you will believe her. Right Mindy?” Meagan nudged her with an elbow.
“Well…I will try if I have to, but remember…I’m not very good.” Mindy wished she didn’t have to do this. A foreboding rose up inside her…what if she accidently hurt someone here, she couldn’t live with herself if that happened.
“Go ahead Mindy…show her!” Kristine nudged her.
“Okay…but please…everyone stand back…way behind me. Remember the warts on Reverand Swiney’s face?” Everyone moved to the wall behind Mindy. Mindy stood up, closed her eyes, and raised her hands outward, palms to the ceiling.
“Mother earth…I call to you.” The air in the room seemed to crackle. The wind outside began to howl and the sky thundered.
“Beauty of nature, God has chose. Change God’s choice into a rose. From plain to lovely for all to see. So shall I speak, so shall it be.”
It seemed like everything went in slow motion. Captain jumped up on the table where the plant stood just as a wind blew around it. Everyone stood wide-eyed as the cat began to change form in the vortex of the wind. The cat grew longer as arms and legs formed. Suddenly the wind stopped and a beautiful young lady sat on the table. Long black hair flowed down her back and her cat eyes stared at them. She hissed, jumped off the table, and tried crawling under the bed.
“OH NO!!!!!! CAPTAIN!!!” Mindy cried as she ran over to the girl.
The three onlookers watched in disbelief and shock. Perri was the first to run over and take Mindy by the arm pulling her away from the scared cat/woman.
“She’s scared Mindy…talk to her softly. Hey Captain…hey sweetie…it’s okay.” Perri softly talked to the cat/woman. Captain seemed to quiet a little and rubbed her head on Mindy’s shoulder.
“Now you see why I don’t do magic.” Mindy said sadly as she petted Captain’s head. Tears poured from her eyes as she whispered how sorry she was in her friend’s ear.
“Now Mindy, it seems to me from what I could tell, you are using too much power for the little things. It’s obvious you have a lot of power inside you. You just need to learn how to control that power. Just letting loose a little of it in this case, would have done the trick, but you kind of overdid it a bit.” Perri hugged Mindy to her reassuringly. “Now…you girls are going to have to get that Book of Spells and get back here. I’m sure Captain here would like to get back to being a cat rather than a human…right Captain?” The cat/woman looked up and meowed loudly. “Now I am obviously going to have to stay here and cat sit while you girls get the book. Don’t worry…everything will be ok.”
It was decided that everyone needed some much needed sleep before they went after the book. Mindy and Perri worked to get clothes on Captain but she was being very uncooperative..hissing and trying to get away. Finally they got her in sweats and left her peacefully sleeping curled up in a ball in the middle of the bed. Mindy was so tired she curled up next to Captain and fell asleep immediately. Meagan and Kristine took the other bed and everyone fell into an exhausted sleep.

Okay...next update. Hope you like it. Also...do you have an opinion. There seems to be a question of whether Captain should stay a woman or be turned back into a cat. What would you like to be done? I will take all opinions. Great reading everyone!
The ride to Pennsylvania was a harrowing experience for Mindy. She sat in the back seat of the car while Kristine drove to directions from a lady coming out of a little box. Mindy couldn’t figure out that little box and how that lady knew to turn right in 100 feet or that the exit was one mile. When she asked Meagan where the lady was seated to give directions, Meagan explained that it wasn’t a real lady, just a computer and that there was a ship that flew in the sky that sent down signals to it. Mindy didn’t understand…all this stuff was difficult for her to understand…but she was still fascinated. Cars zoomed by them at fast speeds while Kristine drove slowly. Mindy thought surely they would be killed.
Finally they got to the venue, much to Mindy’s relief and spotted the bus, parked on a side street away from the venue. All three girls sat there and stared at the bus…now what were they going to do?
“Well…we can’t just go up and knock on the bus door.” Kristine said.
“Maybe we could create a diversion!!! Make the lads run out of the bus!” Meagan said.
“Yeah right!” Kristine replied with sarcasm, “Let’s just sit here and see who gets off and who gets on…don’t they all have a soundcheck to go to this afternoon?”
“Once they are all off the bus, Kristine and I can run to the door and keep an eye out while Mindy goes in and gets the book.” Meagan suggested. It was agreed that would work. So the girls waited.
And waited…..
And waited….
“I’m getting hungry.” Meagan sighed. “And bored.” They watched Ryan and Damian get off the bus and walk down the street toward a diner.
“Maybe we should go get something to eat.” Kristine said as she watched Ryan walk away.
“Ha! You just want to go talk to Ryan.” Meagan laughed.
“No…okay…yeah I do. So what? He’s smoking hot.” Kristine laughed.
“You two go and get something to eat. Just make sure you don’t run into Paul.” Mindy intently watched the bus. “I’ll stay here and watch the bus…I won’t be able to eat anything until I get my book back.”
“I don’t understand why you don’t just tell Paul the truth.” Meagan said, “I’m pretty sure he’d understand.”
“Back where I come from Meagan, women are lower life forms to men, lower than even the dogs. They are intimidated and untrusting of any woman that is powerful. This is the way of men. Men can’t have changed that much over the years.” Mindy explained, “Men feel they must take care of you like they would a pet. If the pet has more power than the owner, what then? They are put aside for a less troublesome pet. I can’t take the chance of being put aside. I care too much for Paul.”
“Mindy, men don’t think that way anymore.” Kristine explained. “Most men can accept a powerful woman and love them.”
“Gah! Men are men! They want the power.” Mindy replied, “Do they not still war against each other? Power, you cannot change the basis of what a man is.”
“You are going to believe what you want to believe.” Meagan replied. “But I still think Paul would understand. Think about it. If there is any future for you two, he has to know the truth.”
“I promise I will think on it, now you two go and get something to eat. I will watch the bus.” Mindy smiled at her friends.
Neil was walking down the street when he saw Kristine and Meagan get out of the car and head down to the diner. He saw that someone else was still in the car…and he could guess who that someone was. He opened the back car door and slid in.
“Hey Mindy…what you doing here? Aren’t you supposed to be in Boston?” he asked.
Mindy jumped a mile and her heart felt like it was in her throat when Neil jumped in the car. She just stared at him in horror while hundreds of excuses flew through her mind. The truth would probably be the best…or close to the truth anyways. “Hi Neil…funny meeting you here.” Mindy looked down.
“Not funny…that’s my rolling home away from home you’re staring at.” Neil smiled. “So…what’s up? You looking for Paul?”
“No! No…I just forgot something on the bus that I need to get. It’s a family heirloom…a book… that I got from my grandmother. I didn’t want to bother anyone about it, so I thought I would wait until everyone left and just run in and get it.” Mindy answered.
“So…you and Paul had a fight huh?” Neil smiled. “Don’t want him to see you? No wonder he’s been Mr. Grumpy all morning.”
Mindy thought that was as good a reason as any not to see Paul so she ran with it.
“It was just a little tiff; almost nothing….not even a real argument.” Mindy lied and kept looking down. She couldn’t let Neil see her face. She was never a good liar and he would know if he looked her in the face.
“Want me to go get your book for you? Where’s it at?” Neil hugged her to him and bent to try and see her face.
“Would you Neil?” Mindy finally looked up at him with pleading eyes. “Would you really? It’s on the bus in the pocket of my dress…the one I was wearing when you found me.”
“Mindy…I already told you I would do anything to help you…and you could come to me.” Neil told her. “But I will do it for a price.”
“But…I have no money!” Mindy stared at Neil pleadingly.
“Now Mindy…no money will be involved…trust me. It’s a small price to pay.” Neil took her hand and gave it a squeeze.
“Ok…thank you so much for doing this for me.” Mindy smiled.
Mindy’s smile hit him like a ton of bricks and took Neil’s breath away….she was so beautiful, he wanted to gather her up and never let her go. His thoughts scattered…now what was he going to do? Oh…yeah…find Mindy’s book. His body started for the door…but his eyes stayed glued to Mindy’s face. He opened the door and fell out of it on the cement.
“Neil!!! Are you okay?” Mindy looked at him laying on the cement.
“Fine…I’m fine..I’ll be right back..yeah…the book.” Neil closed the door and headed to the bus. Mindy watched him run to the bus…and trip over the curb. She couldn’t figure out why he was so clumsy all the sudden. It seemed like hours but probably mere minutes before he came running back across the street, opened the door and stuck his head in.
“So…I found the book…let’s go for a walk.” Neil pulled her from the back seat.
“But….” He wrapped his arm around her waist and led her down the street. Finding a small park, he walked a path and came to a bench. He sat and pulled her down next to him.
“So…is this the book?” He held out the Book of Spells.
“Yes!!! Oh thank you Neil!!” She threw her arms around him and hugged him tightly.
Mindy felt so good in his arms. He could smell her hair..the smell of violets. He took her head gently in his hands.
“Now…for my payment.” He pressed his lips to hers and kissed her. He felt her gasp of surprise. Taking the kiss deeper..he pulled her tightly to him.
Paul was walking through the park, enjoying a little air before soundcheck. His thoughts were full of Mindy. What was she doing? Did she miss him as much as he missed her?
Out of the corner of his eye, he saw a pair of lovers on the park bench. The woman’s hair was the color of his Mindy’s. He decided to give the pair some privacy and headed through the trees. Glancing again he notice the man was Neil…he nearly tripped over his own feet when he saw his Mindy…HIS MINDY…in Neil’s arms. Paul quickly hid behind a tree and peaked around to spy on the pair. They were talking earnestly now. Neil had his hand in her hair...staring intently in her eyes. He was going to break that hand when he got the chance. Mindy was smiling shyly…shaking her head. Paul would have given anything to hear what was being said.
“Neil..you know I care for you…as a friend. You must not do this again…I value you too much…as a friend.” Mindy was telling Neil.
“I would like us to be more than friends Mindy. Couldn’t we give it a chance? After all…you and Paul are not together anymore.” Neil ran his hand over Mindy’s cheek.
“You have it wrong Neil…we are together. Paul and I love each other. Please…you must understand. I only have feelings for Paul.” Mindy tried to explain but Neil wasn’t listening.
“Can you at least think about it Mindy. Just think about it…I’ll wait for you. Maybe you and Paul won’t last. Then we can be together.” Neil tried to pull her into another kiss but Mindy quickly stood up.
“I must go…please…don’t tell Paul you saw me today. I beg you.” Mindy tried to pull her hands away from Neil who was holding on to them.
“Your secret is safe with me. I’ll walk you to the car.” Neil stood and put his arm around Mindy. The pair walked off.
Paul watched them leave. He didn’t know what to feel….horrified..terrified…angry…scared…sad..all the feeling rolled around in him until he felt sick to his stomach. What was going on? Why was Mindy here with Neil? He just didn’t understand at all. His legs felt like rubber and he sat down against the tree. He would have never believed it if he hadn’t seen it with his own eyes. Anger won out over every emotion. He was going to get to the bottom of this. And soon!!!!

Any other opinions on Captain being human? A Ryan and Captain pairing??? Hmmm...we shall see. Thanks for the comments...I love to hear from you guys. Hope you like the story. Paul walked out onto the stage. All the lads were sitting around while men were moving the set around. Damian sat at his laptop, his face was intent on what he was reading on the screen. He spyed Neil over to the right, tuning his guitar and talking to Keith.
“Hey Damian…give me your cell phone.” Paul told Damian.
“What? Something happen to yours?” Damian asked as he reached in his pocket.
“No..I’m calling Meagan. Have you seen her today?” Paul asked.
“Um…yeah. How did you know? She and Kristine ate lunch with Ryan and me. You look pretty mad…what’s up?” Damian asked.
“Did they tell you what they were doing here?” Paul asked as he looked through the phone directory for Meagan’s number.
“Something to do with Mindy leaving something on the bus. Hey…if your gonna yell at Meagan, just give me the phone back.” Damian stood and tried to take the phone away.
“I’m not mad at Meagan and I’m not going to yell at her. Now..where’s her number? It’s not under Meagan.” Paul searched the address list.
“UM….well…it’s under…here give me the phone.” Damian blushed and tried to grab the phone again.
“What??? You got her number under a special name? Like sweetie pie??” Paul had to laugh.
“It’s under Nutmeg.” Damian blushed. “Shut-up” He turned even more red as Paul laughed out loud.
Paul found the number and called.
“Hey Damo!!! What’s up? I just left you!” Meagan answered.
“It’s not Damo…let me talk to Mindy.” Paul answered.
“Paul! Hey Paul…what’s up?” Meagan answered him real loud.
“Nothing…let me talk to Mindy.” He answered.
Paul heard a lot of whispering…then Mindy got on the phone.
“Hello?” she said timidly.
“Hello Love! Just calling to see if you got my flowers. I wanted to let you know how much last night meant to me.” Paul said softly.
“Flowers? Um…yes they’re lovely.” Mindy lied. “Thank you…I love them.”
“Good…I knew you would like red roses.” He said softly.
“Yes…red roses are nice.” Mindy answered.
“Mindy…they were pink roses. What the heck is going on? Why were you up here and why am I hearing that you were here from other people.” Paul was mad and his voice shook…he could still see Neil kissing her.
“Paul…I just needed to get something from the pocket of my dress. I just didn’t want to bother you.” Mindy said softly.
“Really? So you felt you had to bother Neil? Take a walk with him in the park maybe?” Paul looked over at Neil and said the last part pretty loudly because everyone turned to stare at him…even Neil. Neil set his guitar down and started toward Paul.
“Paul…I ran into Neil is all….he just got this…thing…that I wanted from the bus. It was a family heirloom…I just didn’t want to lose it. Really Paul…I’m sorry. I’m sorry that I didn’t see you and ask you. Please don’t be angry with me.” Mindy started to cry.
“Ahhh..nnooo….don’t start crying. Mindy…don’t cry. I just want to know why...why I saw you with Neil.” Paul talked softer to Mindy, he was hurting and Mindy could tell it from his voice.
“Oh Paul…I see that we are going to have to talk. Neil has nothing to do with this…he was just helping me. Meagan and Kristine are right. Secrets are not good between two people who care for each other. I know you are busy with your show. I shall come to you soon…and explain everything. Please know until then that I love you. I love you…please believe that.” Mindy said softly to him.
“Yes… I have shows for a couple of weeks. How am I going to see you?” Paul answered.
“I’ll see you soon…I promise. I love you…” Mindy answered.
“I love you too…I have to get to work here. We’ll talk soon.” Paul hung up the phone.
He turned to Neil who stood next to Paul…ready to defend Mindy’s honor. Sparks flew from Paul’s eyes as he pointed a finger in Neil’s face.
“You ever…EVER…put your hands or your lips on Mindy again...I will tear you limb from limb and enjoy every second of it.” Damian stepped between the men.
“Hey…Hey…no violence here. We’re all friends…come on Paul…cool off.” Damian pushed Paul toward one side of the stage while Keith moved over to Neil and pushed him toward the other side.
After the soundcheck, and everything calmed down, Neil approached Paul.
“Mindy explained to me about you two….I thought you should know that. Just keep in mind…you take good care of her…because if you don’t I’ll be there to tear you limb from limb.” Neil said softly.
“That’s not going to happen…trust me.” Paul said.
“Good…then. I guess we’ll be ok.” Neil turned and walked toward his guitar, he picked it up and started playing a sad song.
Paul shook his head…what has he gotten himself into.
