Ughh I feel terrible. Hopefully you'll forgive me. I've been so busy, but finally! Here ya go! Let me know what you think.
Ten minutes later as promised, the bus pulled to a stop in front of a huge hotel. We all piled out of the busses with all our things and gathered in a group in the parking lot. We walked into the lobby and Phil went up to the front desk with Sharon. A few minutes later, he came back over to us with a handful of room keys. “Ok. Let’s see. Ryan and Paul, you two will share a room. Keith and Neil will get another. George, you’re with Damian,” Phil finished. “Alright, we also have Charley and Annica, Ruth and Joyce, Megan and Nichole, Zara and Sharon,” Phil continued. “Now, you’d better go on up to your rooms and eat something. Then, get to bed. It’s late and you have a busy schedule tomorrow.” “I thought we were on vacation,” Damian said. “Yeah but that doesn’t mean you get to sit around all day doing nothing,” Phil smiled. He handed us our room keys and we all piled into the elevator and moved up to the 3rd floor, Damian grumbling all the way about never getting to sleep in. Somehow I figured that wasn’t totally true. Once it stopped and we all got out, we said our goodnights and all moved to our own rooms. “Annica, we’re over here,” Charley called to me down the hallway. I followed her to the room and she swiped the card. Pushing open the door, we walked into the very nice and quite large room. I threw my stuff on the bed and walked to the opposite side of the room. Throwing open the curtains, I found a balcony overlooking a lake, the beach right below us. The sun was setting over it and reflecting off the water. “Beautiful isn’t it,” Charley said, coming up behind me. I nodded. “Where are we anyway?” I asked, suddenly realizing I had no idea where we were. “I think we’re in Mackinac, Michigan or something like that. It’s a small town but it sounds like a good place to relax and Phil sounded like he had plenty for us to do. We probably won’t be recognized so easily in such a small town.” “Really, I’ve always wanted to come here but my family…well we never made it out here. It always sounded fun.” “Good cause we’re staying around here for a few days and I don’t want to be bored out of my mind. Anyway, let’s eat and get to bed. I’m really tired.” “Sounds good to me.” She must have been tired because a half hour later, we climbed into bed and she was fast asleep within a minute.
~
Damian’s P.O.V. Ugh. Did Phil really have to put me in the room adjoining Keith? George was already sound asleep at 12:13 according to the alarm clock. Nothing could wake him up, not the thunderstorm raging above us, and not even Keith sneaking in and scaring me out of my wits. “Keith GET OUT,” I said as loud as I dared. “I’m trying to get to sleep here.” “Ha! Fine, but you should have seen the look on your face,” he said laughing hysterically. I got out of bed and pushed him out the door adjoining our rooms, locking it this time. He wasn’t going to sneak in again. Climbing back in bed, I was just dozing off when I heard a knock on the door. “Keith GO AWAY,” I yelled. I’m not letting you in.” George rolled over but didn’t show any other signs of having heard me. “Sorry,” I heard outside my door. That voice wasn’t Keith’s. I jumped out of bed and threw open the door just as thunder rumbled outside. Annica was just heading back to her room. “Anni, you okay?” She turned to look at me, a look of terror on her face. I could see it reflected in her eyes when she looked up at me. “What’s wrong?” I pulled her close and she clung to me, shaking hard. Just then thunder boomed and she jumped. It must have been the storm that was making her so terrified but why? “Where’s Charley?” “S-sleeping,” she whispered. “I…I tried to wake her up b-but …” She was cut short by another clap of thunder. “C’mon,” I said pulling her towards her room. She followed. Charley was indeed sleeping. Just like George she wouldn’t wake up for anything. I sat next to her on the bed, and held her tightly. Suddenly she started crying, huge wracking sobs. This wasn’t just a fear of storms. I could tell there was something else behind it. Eventually she stopped sobbing and her breathing slowed. “S-sorry,” she whispered. “Shh, here, just lay down now.” “Please don’t leave,” she pleaded. I didn’t have the heart to leave and so, wrapping her in my arms, I lay down next to her until we were both sound asleep. A while later I woke to someone shaking my shoulder. It was Charley. Annica was sleeping peacefully beside me. “Damian, what do you think you’re doing in here?” she whispered. “Annica was scared during the storm and couldn’t wake you up. She came and got me. What time is it anyway?” “Um… 4:05 and what storm?” “See what I mean. Just go back to sleep. I’ll leave soon.” She nodded. “Ok, but don’t blame me if you get in trouble.” Sighing, I slowly stood up. Annica turned over and smiled in her sleep. She would be fine. I stood there watching her for a moment, but, knowing Charley was awake and probably watching me, I turned and left the room, closing the door behind me.
~
Annica’s P.O.V. I woke up in the middle of the night and for minute I couldn’t figure out where I was. In a hotel…Celtic Thunder…Damian. Damian! Had he been there or had I been dreaming? Rolling over I looked at the alarm clock. 5:34. I could sleep for at least another two hours. I buried my face in my pillow. It was good to have my own pillow back. Yes, he had been there, it smelled like him. I breathed in deeply and drifted back to sleep. When I woke up the next morning, I felt tired and worn out. It took me a minute to register why. Charley was still sleeping in the other bed. The alarm said it was 8:02 so I got up as quietly as I could. I quickly took a shower and when I finished Charley was up. “Annica I’m so sorry. Damian told me you tried to wake me up but…I’m a really sound sleeper I guess.” “It’s okay,” I said rubbing my tired eyes. “I just had a nightmare I guess,” I said, knowing it was more than that, though I hoped it didn’t show on my face. She gave me a hug and then went to take a shower herself. I dressed in my favorite jean shorts and a purple ruffled tank top. It seemed funny to have my old things back after having been without them for so long. I took out my mother’s gold locket and looked at it for a moment, rubbing it between my fingers. Putting it back in a safe place, I took out my charm bracelet and hooked it around my wrist. Since I was waiting for Charley anyway, I went and sat on the balcony, taking in the view. Now that it was light out I could see more clearly. Down the beach a ways was the ferry that took you across to Mackinac Island. Already there were people bustling about getting ready for the day. I sat there for a moment looking down at the lake. Suddenly I saw a dark shape on the beach out of the corner of my eye. When I turned to look closer it was gone. Had I imagined it or was it what I thought it was? Had He followed me here? It couldn’t be. Just then Charley came out of the bathroom. I decided not to say anything to anyone. I was probably just paranoid and it would just make them worry. But still a nagging doubt lingered in the back of my mind. I went back inside trying to pretend everything was normal. “Hey,” Charley said, coming up to me, “Can I do your hair? I have a really cool idea I’ve been wanting to try. I can’t seem to do it to myself and we have plenty of time to kill before we’re needed downstairs.” “Sure,” I said smiling. “That would be great.” I hadn’t had my hair done in a long time and it would take my mind off whatever it was I had possibly seen. I sat down in front of the bathroom mirror and watched her get to work. She first blew my hair dry and then, getting out a curling iron, she curled it in loose ringlets. “You know, I don’t think I could ever survive what you went through, let alone come out of it looking as nice as you do,” Charley said smiling. And to my amazement, she actually looked serious! “I hardly think that’s true,” I said grimacing. “I mean look at me. My cheeks are all sunken in and I’m way too skinny,” I said, scowling at the image in the mirror. “Don’t be so hard on yourself, Damian obviously thinks you’re pretty,” she said grinning at me as she continued curling. I could feel my face heating up and avoided her knowing gaze. “Yeah right, more like he just feels sorry for me.” “That’s far from what Damian’s thinking,” she laughed. “And if you blush like you are now…” she continued, grinning at me. I rolled my eyes at her in the mirror. “Great thanks, now I won’t feel self conscious at all…” I said sarcastically. She just smiled and finished curling my hair and swept the sides back from my face, twisting them in a complicated pattern and then pinned them back. A few curls fell back out framing my face. The rest tumbled down my back. “Hey Charley, isn’t this a little fancy for just sitting around all day?” I asked, nervously. “Hey, we want you to look your best now don’t we?” She smiled. “I guess.” “Wait ‘till we do your makeup,” Charley grinned. “You’ll be absolutely beautiful.” “No makeup, please. Save that for another day?" “Nope, sorry, today we’re going all out.” With that she turned my chair away from the mirror and started applying the make up, me protesting the whole time. When she finally finished she stepped back and scrutinized her work. She nodded. “Perfect. Ok now, close your eyes.” She turned my chair back around and said, “Alright open ‘em.” I did and my jaw dropped. I stared at the person in the mirror. “Uh, is that me?” I asked incredulously.” She had applied a layer of foundation, and a light coat of blush on my cheeks. A brown eye liner accented my bluish-green eyes as well as a coat of black mascara. She had brushed a soft purple colored eye shadow across my eyelids to match my shirt. A light coat of pink lip gloss covered my lips. You’d think I was going to perform on stage the way she made me look. All in all, I hardly recognized the girl in the mirror. “So is there a special occasion or something?” “Not really, I just had this idea, and…” “Save it Charley, I can tell when you’re lying.” She grinned sheepishly. Well it is partly true, although I do kind of have a hunch, but I’m not sure, so I can’t tell you anything yet. “Fine, but it had better be worth all this fuss.” “Trust me, if I’m right, it will be.” ~
Sorry I know it's not super long but it's all I've had time for. Let me know what your fav. part was. Tell me what you think and be honest now. Thanks for being so patient with me.

I AM SUCH A TERRIBLE PERSON! I'm sorry guys I feel awful. It's been forever. Hopefully it's worth the wait.
It was almost 10 o’clock by the time we stepped out of our room to go down to breakfast. It seemed everyone was getting a late start to the day because we met Keith, Ryan, Ruth and Zara in the hallway. “Hey Annica, you look great,” Keith started. “Thanks, Charley did it,” I replied. I hated to admit it but I did like it, and secretly, I couldn’t wait to see what Damian’s reaction would be. It seemed Keith read my thoughts because he whispered, “Damo’s eyes will about pop out of his head when he sees you.” This was stated with a mischievous grin on his face. I blushed. “I really don’t think it’s that big of a deal,” I whispered back. He just raised his eyebrows at my statement. We reached the elevator and went up a floor to the dining room. We quickly spotted the rest of the group. Sharon smiled when she saw my new look. “Good morning everyone. I see you all finally decided to join us,” she said. Damian started, “Don’t worry, she’s only been down here for 5 minutes herse…” as he turned he stopped midsentence. His eyes connected with mine and it was like nothing existed outside the two of us for one single moment. “Uh Damo…” Paul said, trying not to laugh, “Are you still with us?” And just like that the moment was over. “Wow, uh, wow,” Damian said, shaking his head, “you look… amazing!” “Thanks,” I said, hoping I wasn’t blushing too badly. He stood up and pulled out a chair for me. I sat down and noticed that everyone was trying not to laugh at my obvious embarrassment and Damian’s reaction. I glared at them and they all went back to eating. Charley gave me a look that obviously said, I told you so. I just ignored her and turned to Phil. “So, what’s going on today?” I asked. “Well,” Phil replied, “today, after a small rehearsal, I was planning on taking everybody who wants to out to the island. We’ll ride the ferry across and then you’re on your own. You can go shopping, ride horses, go biking, or just do whatever for today. How does that sound?” He looked around the group. Everyone was nodding, excited for what the day would hold. I looked at Damian who smiled and winked. I smiled back and hoped that I could spend some time with him today. After breakfast was finished, everyone hurried off to their rooms to get whatever they needed for the day. I grabbed a bag and stuffed in a pair of jeans, tennis shoes, and a t-shirt just in case. I also dug my camera out of my purse along with my wallet and put them in as well. Then we went back downstairs to a private room where Phil was waiting. “Ok, just start warming up your voices. We’ll be doing one concert here at the end of the vacation. It’ll be at the Grand Hotel on the island. We won’t rehearse everyday but we don’t want you getting too rusty either.” Phil then walked over to Sharon who motioned to me. I was hoping to stay and listen to them sing but I walked over to Sharon first. “Annica, “she said, when I approached, “Can we talk to you for a minute?” I nodded. The three of us sat down in some chairs at the back of the room. “Well, I’ll get straight to the point,” she started. After hearing you play earlier, we were wondering if you would like to join the girls up on stage. You can play your fiddle along with them. I think you also mentioned you could play the piano. Perhaps you could do that as well. Annica, we want to make you a part of the show.” My mouth fell open. “Are you sure, I mean I’m not that good.” “You are very good,” Sharon replied, and we’d be honored if you’d join us.” “Well, I’d love to if you’re sure!” “We are,” Phil cut in. “We all are.” I noticed everyone had walked closer and were listening. When they heard my answer, they all clapped and cheered loudly. “Come over here,” Ruth beckoned. “Your fiddle is waiting.” I laughed and walked over to them. I couldn’t believe this. Charley came up and gave me a hug. As she did, she whispered, “I told you it’d be worth it.” I grinned at her and nodded. “All right everyone, places,” Phil called. “Annica, you can use music for now. Take a seat girls.” We did and I followed along as they began to play the first notes of a song called “Heartland.” There weren’t any other instruments besides Phil playing the piano but I assumed there were more, maybe drums or something. Keith started out singing, and then they all burst out with the hauntingly beautiful chorus. Then, George and Damian sang a duet on the second verse followed again by the chorus. Paul came next with the others singing in the background. Then, the chorus again, followed by a couple of lines sung by Damian with Ryan joining in. Damian winked in my direction as he finished and I couldn’t help but smile back. The chorus sounded one last time and then they were finished. I let the last strains of the song wash over me and shivered. It was so beautiful. They sang a few more ensemble songs and then Phil stopped. “We’ll do individual songs a different day. That was good enough for today. Good job everyone, you too Annica, I’m impressed.” I smiled. I could hardly believe this. It was like a dream come true, and they all sounded so amazing. We packed up, grabbed our bags and headed outside to board the ferry. I sat between Charley and Ruth and 15 minutes later, we stepped off onto the island. “Okay everyone, meet at the big statue in the park at 6 o’clock. Make sure you’re on time or we’re leaving without you, Sharon called. Then she stepped up to me. “Here, I want you to take this,” she said, handing me an envelope. “You need something to spend while you’re here,” she said smiling. I opened it to find a hundred dollar bill. “I can’t take this,” I told her. “Don’t argue with me, I want you to have it. Consider it your first payment if you’d like.” “Well I…” Damian came up beside me. “I’d take it if I were you. Once Sharon gets something in her mind, you can’t change it,” he said. “I guess you’re right. Thanks Sharon, you’re the best.” I gave her a quick hug. She smiled and walked away to join Phil. “So, where do you want to go first?” Damian asked. “Well, I guess I’ll go shopping for fudge and a sweatshirt.” “Sounds good, I’ll come along.” He smiled. “We don’t want you getting lost.” “Hah. Yeah right,” I replied. “C’mon, let’s go.” We walked along the rows of shops and went into one that didn’t look too expensive. I looked around and finally, with Damian’s help, decided on a blue sweatshirt that read Mackinac Island across the front. Secretly I was thinking that it matched his eyes. Then we walked to the nearest fudge shop and each bought a slab of Mackinac Island fudge. “What’s next?” Damian asked. “Hmmm… I think I’ll surprise you there.” “What? No, tell me!” “Nope, you’d probably run and hide. Sorry mister, you’ll just have to wait and see,” I said smirking up at him. “Follow me.” He complained the whole time until we came to our destination. “Horseback riding?” “Yup, horseback riding. You scared?” “Psh, no way.” “Well c’mon then. Hurry up,” I said walking inside. I breathed in the scent of hay and horses. It felt like home. We walked into the office and were greeted by an older man. “I’m Mr. Johnson, the owner. What can I do for you two? Do you want to rent a couple of horses?” “We would if that’s alright with you,” I told him. “Of course, but you’d need to change first,” he said nodding at me. “You don’t want to ride in shorts.” “Yes, I brought extra clothes.” I silently congratulated myself on my foresight. Damian rolled his eyes at my smug expression. “Good, good. Let me see what I can do for you then. “Do you mind if we look around a bit before we decide?” I asked. “No, of course not, go right ahead.” “Thanks.” Going back into the barn, we walked along the row of stalls, admiring each of the horses behind the doors. “This one’s nice. She looks gentle, and uh, not too fast,” Damian said, pointing to a gray mare. “Scaredycat,” I teased. But she’s too short for you anyway.” “How about that one then?” he asked, pointing at a black gelding. “Too old.” “Ok miss horse genius, which one do you like?” he teased. Just then a piercing call rang out from behind the barn. “C’mon let’s go see what’s going on,” I called to Damian, rushing out the back door. “I don’t know if that’s a good idea,” he replied, but followed me anyway. We hurried around the corner and I stopped short. There was the most gorgeous horse I had ever seen. Glistening red gold in the sunlight, his hooves tore at the sky as he reared, trying to escape the three men holding the rope. They finally got his hooves on the ground and had to force him into the round pen, and then they headed off to the barn. The stallion called again then, a piercing sound that tore at my heart. I felt a strong connection with him. I too knew what it felt like to be trapped, with no way out. He tore around the pen, trying to find a way to escape. Suddenly, I found myself walking toward him. I tried to tell myself not to, but it was as if a magnet was pulling me closer. Damian followed me at a distance. He must have known this was something I had to do. When I reached the pen, I stopped. I talked quietly, trying to avoid scaring the horse. “Hey boy. Don’t worry; I’m not going to hurt you.” Opening the gate, I slowly, carefully, walked into the pen, and then closed the gate behind me. The horse pranced nervously, his eyes rolling back so that the whites showed, but didn’t run away. “I know boy. You want to be free don’t you,” I spoke softly, all the while approaching him slowly. I stopped a few feet away and turned away from him. His curiosity must have gotten the better of him because after a few minutes, I heard hoof beats behind me and then felt a hot breath on my neck. Slowly turning, I held out my hand to the stallion, and gently placed it on his nose. He was still nervous but tolerated my touch. I rubbed his nose and face gently, then moved on to his neck. I rubbed his sides and all down his legs getting him used to my touch. Then, slowly, he followed me over to the fence. I stepped on a rung and then put my leg over his back. He shifted slightly, tossing his head, but otherwise stood still. I leaned down low on his neck and breathed in the smell of horse. It was comforting and I longed to be out galloping away on him; away from all my problems and where I could forget the life I had known. Just then, Mr. Johnson walked outside. “What is she doing? Doesn’t she know that horse is wild?” I heard him ask Damian. “Well, from the looks of it, he’s not anymore,” Damian replied smiling. “Oh, and I think that’s the horse she’ll want to ride,” he said grinning at me. I nodded, nudging the horse toward where they stood. He tossed his head again nervously, but went where I asked. "He wasn't wild," I stated. "He's just scared and didn't want to be forced into doing what you wanted." “Whatever the reason,” Mr. Johnson said, shaking his head. “I wouldn’t believe it if I wasn’t seeing it with my own eyes. We’ve tried for months to break that horse and she does it in 10 minutes. Incredible.” “What’s his name Mr. Johnson?” I asked. “We haven’t named him because we thought we’d have to get rid of him. You can decide if you’d like.” Then, he walked away still muttering to himself. “Well…?” Damian asked. I slipped down from the horse’s back and smiled at Damian. “I still haven’t named my puppy and now I have to name a horse too?” “Looks like it. Do you have one?” I nodded. “Flame,” was all I said. “Perfect,” was his reply. ~
Ok so I know it's not the longest update ever. It always looks longer when I'm typing it on Word, but lets hear what you think. Favorite Part?

I know it isn't that easy but the story is getting pretty long and I didn't want to go into too much detail. It's just supposed to go on the whole connection that Anni and Flame have. She could break him because she took the time to understand him whereas others tried to force him to cooperate. Not exactly realistic but it's all I had time for because I was getting off the story line. But thanks so much for the correction
