Here is the next part Enjoy!!!
Normally Cecily would have gone right to Damian with her problems and concerns but she didn't think that he would understand at all this time, she knew that he would agree with Keith as Damian had been looking up to Keith and trying to act more like him and the rest of the men from the village.
So instead she went right to Katherine, she found her outside doing some of her morning chores, she had just come out of the barn where she had been milking a cow when Cecily came up behind her.
"Katy can I talk to you?" she asked, Cecily hadn't realized that Katherine had now known that she was there.
Katherine jumped and almost spilled the whole pail of milk that she was carrying because Cecily had startled her so much.
"Oh Cece you really need to announce your arrival better," said Katherine with a laugh, "Just give me a minute to take that milk in and then we can talk."
They sat down together in a nearby meadow and Cecily told Katherine all about her late night escapades, leaving out a few of the details and the fact that she had wandered so far away from the village when she was helping Rose.
"You mean that you actually saw and talked to real Gypsy's?" asked Katherine fascinated, "I don't think I would have. But did Keith really say and do that stuff? Somehow I just can't see him doing it."
"Yes he did," said Cecily with a sigh, "I have never seen him get so upset over anything before."
"I think that he just really doesn't like gypsy's and that he was worried about you," said Katherine.
"I have a feeling there was more to it then that," said Cecily thoughtfully.
"What is the thing that you picked up that Ryan dropped?" asked Katherine curiously.
"Oh I completely forgot about that!" exclaimed Cecily reaching into her pocket and taking it out.
Cecily gasped as she looked at it, for in her hand she held a beautiful and intricately carved wooden heart necklace.
"What a beautiful necklace!" exclaimed Katherine, "I wonder if he meant to give it to his sister."
Cecily had wondered the same thing but somehow that did not fit the idea of Ryan she had in her head, she figured it was more likely something he had made for a girl he liked.
"I think that I should find a way to get it back to him," Cecily said slowly.
"But why you found it and I don't think that he will even notice that it is missing and if he does then he will just think that he lost it in the woods," Katherine pointed out.
"I guess," said Cecily fingering the smooth surface of the necklace gently before slipping it on, "At the very least I can keep it safe till I see either Ryan or Rose again," she said.
"Right," said Katherine smiling, "So I guess this means no more visits to the well and definitely no sleeping by it," she said.
"Oh I don't know about that," said Cecily, "Keith is not in charge of what I do and if I want to do something no one is going to stop me."
"Well you just need to be more careful," said Katherine, "Keith is right there, you aren't a kid anymore and can't go running around willy-nilly."
"Oh I won't be doing that as much anymore anyway," said Cecily, "Grandma's health is not the best anymore, and I need to help around the house and try to keep bread on the table."
"I guess so," said Katherine then she asked, "How do you plan on earning money?"
"I might help out around the village doing odd jobs and worse comes to worse I could probably find a job with Paul's family, being richer landowners they always need more help."said Cecily.
"You know that my family or Keith, Damian, Paul, or Neil or even George would be more then happy to help you with whatever you need," said Katherine.
"I know," said Cecily, "But for now I want to try to do things for myself, but don't worry I won't let my Granny suffer for my stubbornness if we need help I will ask," she assured Katherine who had looked concerned the moment before.
"Now are you going to apologize to Keith?" asked Katherine.
"What for?" asked Cecily in surprise, "He is the one who should apologize to me, or more specifically to Ryan, he was just so upset and angry that for a moment I felt as if I were seeing a side of him that I had never seen before."
"Well you will forgive him won't you?" asked Katherine, "I hate to see the two of you argue."
"Oh I have already forgiven him," said Cecily, "He just needs to ask for it to know that I have done it already."
"Well I need to get home," said Cecily, "See you later," she called as she got up and with a wave ran off to her house.
As she ran she fingered the necklace that now hung around her neck and wondered what the story behind it was and hoping that she would be able to talk to Ryan again someday and return it to him.
