Okay here is a new story I started!! I got the idea from watching Storm... I hope that you all enjoy it!!
For as long as she could remember Cecily had been told all sorts of stories about the gypsy's that roamed the fields and the forests that surrounded their village.
Most if not all contained nothing but the fact that they were evil, sneaky, bad, and untrustworthy, the creepiest story of all was of course about "The Midnight Well."
Though of course Cecily had heard this story many times and was one of the best in the village at telling it, she was the only one in the whole village who completely disregarded it.
So much so that when she was only 8 she stayed outside and slept next to it on Halloween night.
Of course her grandmother who she lived with never found out about it, but Keith, who was about 15 at the time had found her.
Needless to say it took all of her power of persuasion to convince him not to tell George, the village leader on her.
"What were ya thinkin Cece?" he had asked her sternly, trying his best to look serious shaking his blond head sternly, though the twinkle in his eye and the smile that was barely present betrayed him.
"I just wanted to show that the whole legend was nonsense," Cecily had said shaking her head of dark hair making it bounce and glaring at Keith her hazel eyes blazing, while Keith had immediately burst out laughing.
"I really should turn ya in for this one," he said, "There are real gypsy's out there that could have grabbed ya."
"Don't worry I had my lucky coin that Damian gave me for good luck," she had said cheekily.
"Ye're impossible," said Keith in frustration, "Just get back ta the village with ya, lucky thing yer partner in crime Damian wasn't involved or I would have had ya both in a lot of trouble."
"Just cause Damian is the same age as I am doesn't mean that I listin to him and do what he tells me," said Cecily, "Most of the time I am the one getting him into mischief."
Keith said, "I don't know what ta do with ye, honestly ya be more trouble then a barrel full of monkeys."
Cecily just smiled as she meekly followed Keith back to the village, as she walked she felt for the necklace she always wore which had the coin attached to it on it.
To her surprise the necklace was not there, "Keith, I need to go look by the well," she said, "I think my necklace came off and I need to find it."
"What is it with girls an their baubles," Keith muttered as he reluctantly turned around and followed her back to help look.
They searched everywhere around the well, and the surrounding area, but they found no trace of it.
"Ye must have lost it down the well or somthin," said Keith trying to console Cecily who was close to tears.
"That'll really cheer me up Keith," she said sarcastically.
"Alright I'm sorry," Keith apologized, "I know that necklace meant a lot ta you cause Damian gave it ta you."
Cecily accepted his apology and with a sigh followed him back to the village.
As she walked she remembered something that she had remembered feeling the night before.
Besides the feeling that she was being watched which she had experienced the whole night, she faintly remembered feeling her necklace be slipped off of her.
At the time she had been sure it was a dream, she also remembered the feeling of a warm and gentle feeling hand touching her cheek.
Now being only eight she knew if she told this to Keith he would just laugh and say she had been dreaming, and if she told any of the grownups they would never let her out of the village again.
So of course she decided she needed to tell Damian knowing that he was the only one who would understand as he was the only one who took her seriously, as she was the only one who took him seriously.
"That is really something Cece," said Damian staring at her openmouthed as she told him, "Did you really sleep by it all night?"
"Sure I did,"said Cecily proudly, "But I lost my necklace," she said sadly.
When she told him how it was lost though he gave a low whistle, "Do ya think it was the ghost gypsy?" he asked nervously.
"Of course not!" Cecily snorted, "If anything it was a real gypsy," she said her eyes gleaming with excitement at just the thought of it.
"But they could have taken you!" exclaimed Damian.
"Now you are sounding like Keith," said Cecily with a sigh, "Now you have to promise not to tell anyone."
"Sure Cece," said Damian, "But please be careful, I don't want my girl to go and get kidnapped."
"I am not your girl," said Cecily angrily, "And what is it with you boys worrying about me too much?"
With that she stomped back to her house leaving a smirking Damian behind.
As she lay down to sleep that night she thought of what had happened at the well, she fell asleep dreaming about who could possibly have taken her necklace, her dreams were of this thought for many nights after as well.
I would love to hear what you all think of it so comments please!!
