“I think you’ve taken enough photos to fill an entire scrapbook!” Ryan said as he turned back from the display he had been looking at.
“That’s the whole idea,” Anna grinned and snapped another one of him smiling at her. “Besides, you used to tweet, what, ten pictures a day?”
“Not the point,” he laughed, moving away from the set up. “We’re in Spain, it’s killing me not taking a million pictures,”
“Well, we’ll have the pictures….I’ve just commandeered the camera.”
“We have pictures of me,” He sighed, playfully exasperated.
“Yes, and you make a stunning model!” Anna giggled, snapping one more.
“Keep doing that and you’ll run out of film,” he chastised.
“It’s digital, I don’t think we have that to worry about,” she clicked the button three more times to prove her point, catching him rolling his eyes.
“We really need more pictures of you,” he told her, trying to get the camera.
“Hmm…nope, not happening!” she danced away, holding it tight to her chest.
The banter they had had lasted the entire trip; just the way they liked it.
“Come on,” Ryan pulled at the hand not holding the camera. “There’s a tower I’ve been wanting to go see.”
He tugged her along, out of the museum, and back into the street.
“THE tower?” she asked, wide eyed. “That thing is huge!”
“Precisely.” He said mischievously. “And we’re going to climb it.”
“Have fun going up alone.”
“Oh, no, I definitely need you there with me.” He brushed back a stray piece of her hair, looking down lovingly into her blue eyes.
“Oh….if you insist.” She shrugged. “But just in case, I want to get a picture down here of it.”
“Okay. Give me the camera.”
Before she could protest again, he had it from her and was setting it up to take another picture.
“Oh, Ryan, not of me!” she covered her face in an instant, pulling off her baseball cap down over her eyes.
“No, of course not.”
With her eyes covered, she had no idea that he had just handed off the camera to a helpful Spaniard. She jumped when she felt him snake an arm around her waist. “It’ll be of the both of us.”
She slowly lowered the hat. “But-“
“Hurry!” he pointed to the cameraman just in time for her to look over and plaster a fast smile on her face.
‘click!’
“Well, that’s just going to look brilliant…” Anna rolled her eyes.
“You’ll look lovely.”
“Whatever you say, lover boy,” she laced her fingers into his. “Shall we go make a memory?”
He held her hand gingerly, lifting it to his lips and kissing it. “I think we shall.”
His other hand reached down into is pocket, brushing the little velvet box inside.
“A big memory.”
The Spaniard looked after them as they walked off, linked at the arm. He still held the camera. The man chuckled. He could see just what was around the corner for the couple. He glanced down at the instrument and smiled. He’d give it back later. For now though…
