As the lightning flashed, and the thunder rolls, the rain, it splatters, drips, and falls.
On a far away hill, a castle sits still, and an accented voice, it crys.
"How I long for the sea, the ships, and me mates, and the far away endless blue sky."
He travels alone, over grass, over stone, past the sheep on the green rollin' hills.
Then the Lad met a Lass, and asked her to dance, and at last in the sand he stood still.
"Here I'll stay, in Ireland's bay, and I'll dance here with you in the rain."
"With you," She replied, "Right here I'll reside, in the bay, in the sand, in the rain."
