To turn back time was once her greatest wish. A time when innocence paired with ignorance. But it was a happy place a place full of love. And love was what blinded her of the darkness. It was a time where there was a smile no matter what and there were merely whispers of the coming shadow. But the whispers fell upon deaf ears because the she didn’t comprehend what the speaker was saying. But soon the pain was forced upon her and the ignorance was ripped away. The only way to bear this burden was to pretend it didn’t exist. It was false existence, but the memories were too much to handle. As time flew on faster than she could understand, the pain returned. She faced it with bravery, but there was no way she could fix a broken home. And as the years passed more pain came, but with it light came too. As she watched her brother turn his life around she realized that there were ways of dealing with the pain. But each day fear grew in her heart that her brother will never come home from the field of destruction. With this burden she put on a bright face because the thought of harming those around with her shadows was almost worse than facing it alone. So she surrounded herself with light and joy to rid her mind of the fear. It was a place she was not alone. As she looked back on all the pain there was so much good that she overlooked. There were always hands pushing her up and never pulling down. And smiles were always there. There was so much love that filled the house that memories of the darkness were not forgotten, but were reflected upon. She realised that without the bad there would have never been good coming along. And even though the heartache remained there were always people that cared to listen. She faced all the bad with an open heart. When the tears came as they often did, there were others to comfort and protect no matter the cost. To turn back time was once her greatest wish, but now she understood that she had become who she was meant to be. She was never alone. This was a place where she was home.
