Well, after reading the prompt again I realized the place I didn't write about was necessarily that famous. I hope thats alright, but anyway, here it is!
It was one of those rainy mornings where you just wanna sleep the day away. Well, at least the morning away 'til the rain stopped, but something always seems to wake you up in the middle of the greatest dream you could ever have. This was one those days for Emmet Cahill when the phone just had to ring.
"Emmet, wake up! Damian's on the phone," his mother called from in the doorway.
"I'm up. Now," he mumbled sitting up sleepily rubbing his eyes as his mother handed him the phone.
"He-e-e-e-llo," he said into the phone yawning.
"Whoah, did you just wake up?" he asked his friend.
"Yeah, I did. It's Saturday morning, summer, raining like it usually does, but it was a perfect day to sleep in and it was all ruined. But thats alright, I forgive you," He replied, giving his younger friend a hard time of it.
"Sorry 'bout that, mate, I just wanted to ask you something important."
"Yeah, what's that?"
"I'm goin' to take a vacation to New York. Not the city though, up into the Catskill mountains. It's really peaceful up there."
"Why are you asking me to go?" Emmet asked, curiously.
"Well, all Keith wants to do is surf, Ryan's with Anna, Paul he's getting stuff ready for his solo album and concert stuff, George, well, George is with his family and if George go's they all go. So, you were the lucky one that gets to accompany me!"
"Wait," he said slowly. "I didn't say yes, is this something where I have to go because you already booked plane tickets, got hotel reservations and all that jazz?"
"Umm, yeah, thats seems about right. We're leaving tomorrow morning', sorry for the short notice, Conor canceled on me at the last minute. Forgot to add him to the list of 'people who couldn't come and why'"
"No, no, I can go. It actually sounds like a lot of fun. How long will we be there?"
"Umm, only 2 weeks, but the hotel has a pool, a little playground, not that we'll be using it, and it has a restaurant right around the corner, a zoo and thats all I can remember for now. But we will have so much fun! Oh and bring your camera, lot's of nice scenery too!"
"Alright, I'm totally convinced I'll have fun, but like I said before, I'll come. Now, I have to go to store and buy a few things for our trip tomorrow and pack."
"Ok, and me Mum and me will be at your house around 7:00 a.m. to pick you up. WE have 9:00 a.m. flight."
"Alright, I'll be ready. See ya then, Damo!"

"Yes, Mum, I have everything I need," Emmet assured her for the tenth time.
"I just don't want ya forgettin' anything. You do have your tooth brush, right?" She asked, once again. Finally, which seemed like an eternity, Mrs. McGinty and Damian pulled into the drive way.
"G'bye, Mum," Emmet said, giving her a quick kiss on the cheek before heading out the door.
"Good bye, and call me when you get there!"
"I will. I promise!" He called out putting his luggage into the car. One last final wave and they were off to the airport. It was a long flight, and he didn't even know why he agreed so suddenly to go. But with Damian, he was sure to have a good time with lot's of laughs.
"Flight 112 is boarding." Called a lady over the loud speaker. Damian said goodbye to his Mom and they were on the plane with in 15 minutes.
"Emmet, are you sleeping?" Damian asked Emmet who had his eyes closed and was listening to his Ipod. There was no answer.
"Emmet, I asked if you were awake?" He said, poking him in the ribs to which Emmet jumped and bumped the man's arm who was sitting next to him who happened to be at that moment taking a drink of his 7-up. Splashing both him and Emmet in the face.
"I'm so sorry, sir! Here, take this," Emmet said, getting out his handkerchief and handing it to him.
"It's alright, just try not to do it again, ok?" He replied. After that Emmet turned and gave Damian a death glare and all Damian could do was shrug with an innocent look on his face.
After an hour of chatting they both agreed they could use some sleep. And Emmet wouldn't have to worry about bumping anyone again since Damian was fast asleep right next to him.

"Well, we're here! At the hotel and we're both starving. We just ordered pizza and we're going to get it soon," Emmet said, as he talked to his mom an dad on the phone.
"Ok, I'll talk to you later, Ok. Bye!" He said, and hung up.
"Well, what should we do?" Damian asked as if Emmet had all the answers.
"Let's go pick that pizza up and then we'll decide what to do, Ok?"
"Alright, I'm starved anyway." Damian said and they headed over Angela's to pick up their pizza.
