‘KRACK!’
Damian gasped.
‘Ba-BOOM!’
Black.
“NO!!!” the boy shrieked. “It’s gone!”
“Ow!” a voice came from the door, paired with a soft thud. “My toe!”
Damian didn’t seem to notice the yowling surfer, and continued mourning. “No, no, no, no, no!”
“What are ye whining about?” he snapped as he attempted to flop onto the bed, but blindly came short and tumbled to the floor. “Ow! Your room hates me!”
Damian suddenly seemed to realize Keith was there, and looked up wide and watery eyes. “Keith! Keith, it’s gone!”
“What’s gone?!” he asked fearfully. This sounded serious.
“Twitter!” the boy cried. “It’s GONE!” he turned the laptop screen to face his fiend, showing him the lifeless black screen.
“That’s what you’re going on about?” Keith demanded. “Twitter?” Damian sniffed and nodded.
“And facebook!” he sobbed, planting his forehead on the keyboard.
“You really gotta get out more often,” Keith said.
“But how can I go out without making plans on facebook!?”
“Life goes on without power. Trust me.”
“How?! What do you do when there’s no power?!”
“Thank Damo, think really hard. What causes power outages?”
“Fallen tree limbs?” he began. “or…fuse box? Power overload?”
“I once had a suicidal squirrel make mine go out.” Keith added, then shook his head. “But that’s not what I’m getting at! What caused THIS outtage?”
“Lightning?”
“Brilliant!” he flung his hands in the air. “And what brings lightning?”
“Storms?”
“Precisely!” he cried. “Obviously me smarts are rubbing off on ye. Now, c’mon.”
Keith nabbed his arm and started tugging him towards the door.
“Ow!”
…or where he thought the door was. That had been a wall.
“Where are you trying to take me?!” Damian asked fearfully.
“Damo, when is it the best time to go surfing?” he asked as if Damian where a child.
“Not in a storm!” he tried to pull away. “That’s just deadly!”
“And deadly is the perfect time!” with another yank, Keith had the boy outside. “And if we’re lucky, we might just see a shark!”
“Someone, HELP ME!!!”
