okay, so i wrote this when i had a song stuck in my head for several days. i have a bit of a writers block so this is not the best, but i hope you like it!
Flipping onto his other side did not help. Stuffing his head under the pillow didn’t either. The bus rocked with each bump in the road as they drove to the next location, and even though they were almost there and the sky was already lightening, Paul had yet to get any sleep.
And all because of a song. Damian just HAD to play it once the day before, and now the catchy chorus was stuck in his head. Unfortunately, the chorus and the beginning was all that he knew, so it was irritating that that was all that he could remember. It had gotten to the point where Paul had forgotten the lyrics for Place in the Choir since this song was in his head all the time.
Groaning, he rolled over again but fell onto the floor right out of his bunk. Sitting up and rubbing his shoulder, he sighed and decided that he might as well get up since he couldn’t forget it. Coffee it was.
Walking into the other room and closing the door behind himself, Paul swayed with the bus naturally, used to the movement by now. Turning, he was about to go make a cup of coffee when a familiar smell reached his nose. When his eyes focused on the figures in the dark, his eyebrows shot up.
“Guys, what are you doing here?” he asked incredulously.
Ryan, Keith, George, and Neil glared at him. “It’s Damo’s song,” explained Ryan. “It’s stuck in our heads and we can't sleep, so we decided to make coffee since we have to get up soon anyway. What about you?”
Paul nodded and sat down beside them. “Yeah, me too. Catchy, isn’t it?”
“Unfortunately, yes,” muttered Keith.
“Anyone know any catchy songs that get stuck in your head?” George asked suddenly.
Slowly, Paul felt a grin spreading across his face. Pulling out his iPod, he flipped through the list until he came to one. Turning around the screen, he received four nods of agreement at the selection.
The next morning, Damien woke up with an iPod in his ear blasting out a song that for the next week would be planted firmly in his head. Revenge can be a pain, no?
and this is the song: www.youtube.com/watch?v=9DXMDzqA-UI
it was originally a different song, but i like the first one better.
