ok guys, this first post is kinda boring and short, I know. But the story will get better as it goes, so hang in there! And Paul will come along eventually It was beautiful day in New York City. A young woman, about 25, was busy sorting files in her home office.
"Hey Maggie, don't forget about the dog show you have to go to at 3:00." said Ben, her best friend and co-worker. They ran a photography business together.
"Oh my god! I completely forgot! I got so caught up in sorting these files! 3:00 you say? Hmmm I'll have to call Brad and tell him I won't be able to make our date tonight."
"I think the dog show only lasts like 2 hours. It's a one breed dog show. And I don't understand why you like Brad. He's nothing but a fat cat that cares about himself and himself only!" Ben said
"Oh come on Ben! You know Brad's a great guy."
The phone started ringing.
"M & B's Photography Service, Maggie speaking, how may I help you?"
"Hi, my name is Connor Donaghue, and I would like you and and your co-worker to be the photographers for my new book, Éire go brách. You will be sent to Ireland for a year, all expenses paid."
"Sounds great to me, but we will have to talk it over and meet up with you so we can talk about payment."
"Ok just give me a call back when you want to meet somewhere."
"Ok bye."
"Who was that?" asked Ben
"You know Connor Donaghue, the famous author of all those Ireland books?"
"Yes."
"That was him! He wants us to be the photographer's for his new book! He'll send us to Ireland, all expenses paid!" squealed Maggie
"Wow! This sounds like a once in a lifetime chance! Did you set up a date to go and talk to him about payment?" asked Ben
"No, I told him we'd talk about it and I'd call him back. But Ben, do you really think it matters what the payment is? I mean, having our photos in his book will give our work a ton of popularity! Not that we aren't popular already. Our photos are on the most popular magazines! "
"Maggie, remember what we said when we first started this business? We said that if we ever became famous and made big bucks, that we wouldn't let it get to our heads."
"It's not getting to my head! I have to call Brad and tell him we're going to make the mega bucks this time!" she said, then she ran to her room.
"Not getting to your head my foot.... her priorities are definitely not straight right now...." Ben mumbled.

After a whirlwind couple of days, Ben, Maggie, and Brad, we're all on a plane headed to Ireland.
"I can't believe we're going to Ireland! Do you know how much history they have there?!" said Ben
"Is that all you can think about? The history? What about the money you're going to be making?" asked Brad, rolling his eyes
"Listen here, going to Ireland is more than a money-making venture for me! OKAY?!"
"Okay, fine! Whatever.....It's just another country to me! History is history, just with different twists on them! "
"But dude! This is Celtic history! This history is like really amazing!"
"Yeah whatever. So Maggie, where are landing?" asked Brad
"In Dublin." she said
"And that is where?"
"On the west coast. But we're going to be traveling all over Ireland."
"Maybe we'll see Celtic Thunder while we're there." said Ben
"And what is that?" asked Maggie
"You mean 'who' is that. They're a group of five solo singers. They're actually pretty good."
"Do you have a CD of theirs? Cause anything you like, I'll probably like" said Maggie
"I actually have all of their CDs! I recommend their newest, it's called "Take Me Home"." said Ben, handing her the CD
She put the CD in, and heard a beautiful voice. It reminded Maggie of ocean waves, smooth and rough all at the same time. To Maggie, it was perfect.
"Who's singing the first song?" she asked Ben
"That's Keith Harkin."
"Oh ok." she continued listening. She got to song #7. The voice that she heard amazed her. It was so smooth it was like velvet. And it was so powerful it was like a summer storm.
"*gasp* Ben! Who is the one singing...ummmm...." she looked at the CD, "Because We Believe?!"
"Fascinated with him are you?" laughed Ben
"Just tell me who it is"!
"His name is Paul Byrom."
"Paul Byrom..." said Maggie to herself
"And he lives in Dublin. So you might see him!"
She listened to the rest of the CD, and by the end of it, she was absolutely amazed. She had never heard a group of 5 solo singers that had this great of sound! She decided to listen to the other CDs as well. She fell asleep after a little while.
"Maggie! We're here!" said Brad
"What......"
"We're here in Dublin! I can't believe you slept through the landing!" he laughed. "But we have to get off like right now!"
Maggie jumped up and through the CDs into her bag. "Hey those are mine!" laughed Ben
"I know! You'll get them back later! But for right now, we have to go!"
After a short while standing in a line, and about 45 minutes of trying to get a taxi and driving to the hotel.
Maggie walked into her room and plopped down on the bed. "It sure is great to have a room of my own!"
She walked over to her window and looked out over Dublin. "Sure is a beautiful city. I should be able to get some great shots here."

The next morning, Maggie decided to go for a walk. She left a note on Ben's door. She walked out of the hotel, and into the warm summer sun. "Left or Right Maggie?" she asked herself "Ah just take left! You always take right!" she thought She walked until she came to a small park. She'd brought her camera, so she decided to get a few shots. She started to take a picture of a very old tree, when a very handsome man stepped in the way. Of course, he didn't know. This aggravated her, as she took her job very seriously. He strolled over. "Hello" he said. "Hi" she said bluntly "I couldn't help but notice you --ummm-- taking pictures. Are you a photographer?" "What's it to you?" "Well I was just wondering. Are you angry because I stepped in the way? I assure you that I did not know." Maggie didn't say anything. "You are. Fine, Miss Get-angry-over-nothing! I'll leave you to your work!" he said, then he walked off. "Well, what a wonderful first impression of irish people." mumbled Maggie But Paul was thinking something totally different. "Wow! She was so beautiful, and boy does she have spunk!" he chuckled, and shook her out of his head. Later that day, Maggie went to get a bite to eat at some pub in the heart of Dublin. She looked around. She mostly surrounded by men, and a few women, but not many. She watched some of them laughing, she'd never laughed that hard before. She fiigured it must have been the guiness they were drinking. She giggled softly, watching them slap each other about. One thing about irish people was, they knew how to have fun. She glanced around somemore, and noticed a very familiar figure standing by the window. She gasped when she realized it was the man from the park. He must have felt someone staring at him, cause he looked her direction. When he realized who she was, he smiled and winked at her. Maggie quickly turned away and finished eating. Paul chuckled to himself. "Ah how I admire her. She acts so funny. I guess that's the american in her." he thought. "Maggie. Where have you been?" asked Brad, sitting beside her. "I've been walking, like I said I was doing in the note I left Ben." "I don't like you walking around alone like that." he said "Brad, I'm a grown woman, I can do what I want." She glanced over at Paul. He was looking, but quickly looked away. "Have you gotten any good shots today?" asked Brad "Yes I have. I need to get some shots of this pub too. You head on back to the hotel, and I'll be there in a little while." "Ok, but be back by 7:00." he said, then he walked out. "I'll come when I want." she mumbled to herself. She got up and asked everyone if they minded her taking some shots. They said no they don't mind. Paul watched her while she wasn't looking. He admired how serious she was about her work, nothing else seemed to matter. But, he did think she needed to learn what life was REALLY like. He noticed she didn't seem to enjoy life at all. Like she had no idea how to have fun. And he was also trying to figure out why he cared. She was nothing but a woman here on business. Not out of love for the country. "Why do I care?" he asked himself.

Once Maggie finished taking all shots she wanted of the pub, she headed for the door.
Paul stepped in front of her. "Uhhhh....ummm....I was wondering if you might -uhhh- want to grab a bite to eat sometime."
"I hardly even know you. And starting to wonder if you're stalking me...." she said, walking around him.
He rubbed his neck and thought to himself, "Come on Paul! You can get that date!" he walked after her.
"Yeah, I know I'm a total stranger but, I thought I might be able to show some places that you could get some good shots."
Maggie turned and looked at him. He looked as if he really actually wanted a date with her. But she had Brad..... and she was here on business, not a pleasure trip.
"Please" he pleaded. He gave her his most charming smile.
"Okay! But the only reason I accepted, is to get some good pictures!"
Paul forced himself not to leap for joy. "Thanks. Um, say tomorrow at noon we meet here?" he asked
"Okay, see you then." Maggie quickly said, then walked off.
"Wow! Even though she doesn't like me....she's amazing!" Paul said to himself
Maggie finally got back to the hotel at 8:00. When she walked in her room, there sat Brad.
"I told you to be back by 7:00." he said
"I got caught up in taking shots at that pub."
"I don't like you staying out in a strange city by yourself!"
"I am a grown woman Brad" Maggie said through clenched teeth
"I don't care what you are! Don't go walking around by yourself! Am I clear?"
"AM I CLEAR?!!?" he yelled
"I CAN DO WHAT I WANT!!!!" she screamed, then she ran out the door.
She was to angry to cry. How could he treat her like a child? She was a woman, not a child.
She walked to the park that she had went to earlier that day.
She looked around to make sure nobody was there, then sat down on a bench.
"How dare he treat me like that! I am not a little girl!"
"No you're not. You're a woman who knows what she wants." said a voice from behind her.
She jumped up and whirled around. "Are you stalking me?!" she asked
Paul chuckled. "No, it just so happens you go the places I always go. So, what's the problem?"
"Why should I tell you?"
"Oh, I don't know. Just because I'm a man, doesn't mean I don't understand things" he smiled at her
She sat back down. "If I want to talk to someone, I'll talk to my best friend, okay? Now just leave me alone."
He sat beside her. "Why are you being so defensive? I just want to help." he said
Maggie jumped up and walked away. But he wasn't letting her go that easy, so he followed.
"What is your deal!?!!" she asked
"I think you need to learn to enjoy life a little more and maybe, just maybe, be a little nicer!"
"And just what are you proposing? That I let YOU teach me how to enjoy life? Yeah right!"
He folded his arms and gave her a stern look. "You do act like a little girl." he said
"How dare you say that to me!"
"I was wrong, you have no idea what you want!" he chuckled
"UGH!" was all she said before she walked off.
"WE STILL HAVE OUR DATE FOR TOMORROW RIGHT?!" Paul yelled after her
No answer.
Paul chuckled and said, "She'll come."

The next morning, Maggie woke up refreshed and ready for the day to come.
Then, she remembered her date with...wait, she didn't even know his name. Well anyway, she debated whether or not she would go.
"Oh, why bother! He has no respect for you!" she said. But in her heart, she knew it wasn't true.
Meanwhile, Paul was already at the pub, talking with some of his friends. Both of which, were women. One, named Sarah, was a brunette with grayish/blue eyes, and the other, named Mindy, was also a brunette with brown eyes. They both were very close to Paul.
"I don't know what it is, but she makes me feel...well different." he said.
"I think you're in love with her." said Sarah bluntly
"In love? I just met her for god's sake!"
"That's what happens Paul." said Mindy
"That's why they say "It was love at first sight"." giggled Sarah
"You always have to joke in a situation like this don't you?" he chuckled
"Normally, it's you who's joking. So if you're not gonna joke, I will!" she laughed
Paul laughed with her and Mindy just stared at them.
Once they noticed Mindy wasn't laughing with them, they stopped and looked at her.
"You two laugh over the dumbest stuff." said Mindy, laughing at them.
Paul and Sarah looked at each other and grinned.
"Uh-oh. You two have a plan to prank me and you don't even have to talk to tell each other what it is!" said Mindy
Sarah and Paul did an evil laugh. "Don't worry Mindy...... it won't be to bad." said Sarah with an evil grin
"It's amazing how you two know each others minds! An evil laugh at the same time, how'd you do that!?"
"Maybe we're telepathic." joked Paul
"Paul it's 11:50. You're new love will be here in 10 minutes, so we're gonna go! Besides I have a date with Richard." said Sarah, then she whispered in his ear, "We'll do the prank some other time."
"Ok and you're still dating that British actor?" asked Paul
"Yes Paul, I am. I know you two don't always get along, but I think he could be the one."
Paul mumbled, "Knowing him, it's probably all an act."
"Paul Michael Byrom!" said Mindy and Sarah at the same time
"What?"
"Oh never mind! We'll see you later" said Sarah, kissing him on the cheek.
"Ok, I'll let you know how it goes." he said
As soon as they walked out the door, Maggie walked in.
She walked over to where Paul was sitting and said, "If I must go on a date with you, then I need to know your name."
The sudden voice startled Paul, even over all the noise. He jumped up and saw her standing, and acted as if he was getting up to let her sit there.
"Oh -uhhh- my name is Paul. Paul Byrom" he said
"Maggie Malone." she said, taking the seat he had "offered". "Wait, did you say Paul Byrom? As in the guy with Celtic Thunder?" she asked
"Yep! That's me!"
"Ok, no matter how annoying you are. I have to say, you have an amazing voice."
"Thanks"
Silence.
"Your last name is very Irish." Paul said, sitting across from her.
"It is? Well, I don't care much about those things. All that matters to me is my work."
"Well now, you shouldn't be like that."
"Why not? It's my life, I can do what I want with it."
"But there's more important things in life than work Maggie."
She was kinda shocked that he used her first name.
"Give me one example of what's more important."
"Love" he said
She looked up and met his gaze. His eyes held hers.
She stared into their deep blue depth. But once she realised what she was doing, she quickly looked away.
"Love is not the only thing that matters in life Mr. Byrom." she said
He chuckled and said, "Please don't call me "Mr. Byrom", it makes me feel old."
"Are we gonna sit here and chat all day, or are we going to get those pictures?!" she asked, clearly annoyed
Paul rolled his eyes and thought to himself, "This woman is going to learn to love life if it's the last thing I do."
