Not really a CT poem, but I thought that anyone in high school (like Damian, for instance) could prob'ly relate. I'm not much for poetry, so I'm happy with how it came out. For those of you who don't get the reference, Montaigne is considered to be the inventor of the essay. That should hopefully help you understand that better. ^___^ *~* Homework
It’s sunny out, The day is warm, There blows a playful breeze, Birds are singing, Wind chimes ringing, I have to ask, why me?
~*~
It’s dark inside, Computer’s on, An essay sits half-typed, Notes are strewn, About my desk, I don’t know what to write.
~*~
I pound my head, On my keyboard, It makes a garbled mess, I stare at it, And nurse a bruise, And wonder, what mark would I get on this?
~*~
My dog walks in, He carries his leash, He clearly wants a walk, I tell him no, I don’t have time, I need to get good marks.
~*~
I stare for hours, At the screen, My eyes begin to cross, I need to finish, This assignment, Before my vision’s lost.
~*~
I’m sitting there, When suddenly, Inspiration comes to me, I put my fingers, To the keys, And embark on a typing spree.
~*~
I hit ‘Save’, And print it out, And read it one more time, Even Montaigne, Could not have wrote, An essay such as mine.
~*~
I flop down, Upon my bed, And give a relieved groan, Just two assignments, One more test, And three exams to go.*~* Hope you all enjoyed it!
