Against my better judgement, I have decided to post this. Enjoy!
"Lads, I'd like for you to remember that next month is October" said Sharon, walking in. All the heads around me started to bob. "And you will remember that this time round we are staying in Texas for a little over a week." The heads started bobbing again. "We're doing Dallas, then Houstion, then were are staying in Abilene for the rest of the week." Again with the bobbing! I felt like I was in a bobble head convention not rehersals! "Good, any questions?" I raised my hand "Damian?" "Refresh my memory. Why a week in Abilene?" Sharon chuckled "Damian, remember an old friend of mine invited us to perform at the Freshman Sing. We all agreed to do this at the start of the tour." My head started bobbing as well. I remembered, well at least now I did. "Any other questions?" "Yeah, where are we playing at?" asked Paul. "Van Ellis Theater. It's on the Hardin-Simmons campus" said Sharon Everyone was silent for a while. "All right then. Shall we start rehersals?"Asked Phil. How anyone could be this perky this early in the morning is beyond me. We were so tired that all we could do is bob our heads. "Paul your first." said Phil. Yawning, Paul got up, streched, and made his way to the front of the room

Wow you guys are great! Thanks for the wonderful comments!
I began to run towards the Cowboy Band hall, careful not to step on the grass out front. I glanced at my watch. 5 till 9. Good. I pushed open the door and stumbled in. Literally. My stupid jacket cought the door handle and nearly sent me sprawling. I only hoped that no one had seen me. Someone had. I heard laughter. "Nice one Sarah. Real graceful." I knew that voice anywhere. There was Brian, a close friend of mine, laughing his head off. "Thanks Bri, love you too." I entered the main room without incedent, slid off my sandals and sat down. "Want me to braid your hair?" asked Brian. "Forget it. Remember yesterday? It was full of knots, I spent all night untangleing it. I'll do it." I threw my hair back in a very hasty braid. Biran and I spent the rest of the time talking. Brian is a sweet guy, but I would never consider dateing him. Mostly because we grew up together. We were neighbors back home. We never talked about college plans, we just assumed that when we got there we would keep in contact. With that in mind, you can imagine how surprised I was when the first person that I saw was Brian. "Okay we should get started." said Miss Jackson. She was one of the directors for our group, as well as my english teacher. She looked at Sean, another director. "You want to tell them?" Sean nodded "All right. We've been told that there is to be a special musical group this year. We don't know who it is because it's a secret. Now this group isn't affiliated with the school in any way. They are also very professional, so we want to wow them. So Lets get going." I moved into position.

Yay, an update!
3 weeks later... The bus pulled into the back parking lot of the hotel we were staying in. "This is going to be one odd week" I murmered to myself. As the driver put the bus into park I grabbed my suitcase with everything I would need. "Got everything, Damo?" asked Keith. "I do. Do you?" Keith nodded. We made our way to the front desk. "Name?" asked the elderly man behind the desk. "Keith Harkin" "Mr. Harkin, room 306. Enjoy your stay." "Name?" he asked turning to me. "Damian McGinty." "Mr. McGinty, room 304 Enjoy your stay." He handed me the room key and I headed towards the elevator. "You coming up, Damo?" asked Keith. "Na, I'll wait for Neil." Neil was my roommate this time round. "See ya later then." Keith entered the elevator. "Later Keith." Neil took his own sweet time coming to the elevator. I waited for 10 minuets. George and Ryan went up. Even Sharon and Phil went up. Finally Neil showed up. "Well, glad you finaly decided to show up!" I joked. Neil just smiled. We went up to our room. Normally I would take a nap but for some reason I wasn't tired. Once I was unpacked I went down the hall to looking for the rest of the lads. I saw Paul exit the elevators. Paul was sharing with Keith. I said a quick prayer for their safety and sanity. "Hey Paul, need some help?" Paul usually travled with two huge cases because he had this habit of finding the fancest store in town and getting something "swanky" "Thanks Damo." Paul said handing me one of the cases. "So Paul, a week in Abilene and by the looks of it, no uptown shops. What are you going to do?" Just as Paul was about to ansewer me we steped into the room. Keith was sprawled out on one of the beds snoreing loudly. Silently I helped Paul unpack.
Any comments and critisim is welcome and appreacated.

The next day the lads and I decided to checkout the Hardin-Simmons campus. Sharon went to go see her friend and the rest of us split, leaving me to my own devices. I guess they figured that I wouldn't hurt myself to badly on a colege campus. The campus was really small and I had no trouble finding my way around. Problem was, I had no idea what each building held. Sure I had some idea, I mean if a sign outside says Caldwell School of Music you can bet that they don't teach math inside. Eventually I decided to check out the "alumni wall" apparently thats what they call it. Not quite sure why though. The wall circular in shape and had four enterances. As I approached I heard a voice singing. I crept closer. The voice defenatly belonged to a woman, no doubt about that. I leaned against the outside wall and just listened. The voice was pure, angelic, clearly a sporano, as it soared up to hit an impossiable note. I turned around and entered the circle. The singers back was to me. I saw a slight frame with long stick straight hair brown hair. I wondered how long it took her to straighten her hair. I cleared my throat. She jumped and turned around. I thought I was alone. That's why I was singing that particular song. It was a love song that my mother taught to me. She told me that the song was ment for only one man's ears. It was not ment for a random stranger's ears, thats for sure. Speaking of strangers. When I saw who it was that had snuck upon me I blushed quite red. "W...Well, I thought I was alone!" I stuttered. "Um I guess not? My name's Damian, whats yours?" I already knew who he was, but I was so shocked at seeing him here, in the flesh that I quite forgot to tell him. "I'm Sarah." "May I join you, Sarah?" I nodded, too numb for words. "May I join you, Sarah?" I asked. She nodded sending waves down that long hair of hers. I sat down next to her. "So what are you doing here?" I asked her. "Shouldn't you be socializing with your friends?" A brief smile lit up her face. "All my friends are in class. Besides, who would want to socalize with me? I'm painfully shy as you can probably see." I had seen the shyness the moment she had looked at me, but that had only made me curious. Why whould a girl as pretty as her be shy? It was unnatural. Who was this girl anyway? She glanced at her watch. "It's nearly time for my first class. I better go get ready. It was nice meeting you, Damian." With that she left. I ran to follow her. "Wait, Where do you have class? I'd like to meet you afterwards." She paused, thinking. "Meet me outside Abilene Hall at 1:00." Abilene Hall 1:00. I got this. "I'll see you then, Sarah." I turned and made my way to the theater. I glaned behind me. Sarah had dissapeared. Was she just a figment of my inagination or the real thing? I would have to wait untill 1:00 for that. Morning classes were uneventful. I just couldn't wait to see Damian again. Wait. Damian. Celtic Thunder. The mysterious music group. Sing. It finally clicked. I understood. I couldn't wait to tell...Wait! Could I tell? I decided to ask Miss Jackson. It was quite ironic, I had come to that starteling conclusion in her class. Who am I to question fate? Class got out early. I glanced at my watch. There was still time before I had to meet Damian. I went up to the front of the room "Ma'm, I think I've figured out who the mystery group is! What do I do?" She looked at me with alarm. "Keep it to yourself and I'll talk to the other directors." I nodded, thanked her, and left. By 1:00 I was out the door. There stood Damian, in all his Irish hottness. I smiled and felt my cheeks getting hot. "May I carry those books for you?" Feeling cheeky, I shook my head no. He raised his eyebrow. "Let me." he said more firmly. I surrendered my books and we began to walk to the dorm, chatting of whatever we wished. Once we entered the dorm I told him to wait in the lobby while I put my books up. I quickly went to rejoined him. When I got back to the lobby he was surrounded by adoring girls. Thankfully they had no clue who he was. I could tell because they were asking him for his name. He looked up and saw me laughing at his prediciment. He fought his way over to my side. He had a look on his face that clearly shouted 'Lets get out of here!' I nodded, still laughing. We quickly made our exit. On the pourch out front Damian turned to me. "Why were you laughing?" "Come on Damian! Your face was priceless!" "Well, um." He cleared his throat nerviously "Will you give me the official tour?"
"Will you give me the official tour?" I asked nerviously. "Sure. Well obviously these are the girl dorms. Your not allowed in our rooms unless you have special permission. Berens is all Freshman and Lang" She pointed across the street "Has all levels." We began walking away from the dorms untill I saw a big building with a golden dome. "This is Skiles, and that across the street is Logsdon School of Thology. Skiles is the social science building." We turned left and walked up to the next corner. "On our right is the Frost Center of Visual Arts." I noticed the statues scattered out front. "Wow! I never would of guessed!" Sarah swatted my arm. "Quit it!" "Oh ho! So you're mad at me now!" she rolled her eyes. "Just annoyed. Do you want to finish this tour or not?" I have to admit, she's really cute when she's telling someone off. I raised my hands in mock surrender. "All right, all right! Lead on!" Sarah rolled her eyes for good measure and began walking.
I rolled my eyes. Damian could be so irratating sometimes. I glanced back at my handsome partner. I couldn't stay mad at him forever now could I? We finished the tour and were walking back to my dorm when the chimes started going off. I looked at my watch. Oh Crap. 3:30! I had a class at four! I also needed to finish up my homework! When I relayed these facts to Damian he frowned. We agreed to meet up after class and go to dinner.

I said good-bye to Sarah and made plans to meet her after class for dinner. I went back to the theater. The lads were all there. "Hey Damo, where'dja head off to?" "Aww Keith, I didn't know you cared about lil ole me!" I couldn't help it, it was too perfect. Keith just rolled his eyes. "Well lad, where were you?" said George "All right, all right, if your gonna twist my arm about it. I took a tour of the campus." "Oooh and who was your tour guide, what's her name?" teased Paul nudging my shoulder. I nudged right back. "I never said it was a girl. How do you know that it wasn't a guy?" Paul was roaring with laughter "Because I saw you! I saw you and her walking together! It's ment to be Damo, she's really cute." The hilarity mounted "Ha ha guys. What time is our rehersal?" "Seven to Ten" answered George. "Can I invite my friend?" "No. We're ment to be a secret. Wait, does your friend know about us?" I paused for a second, thinking of our conversation. The way she laughed. The way her eyes lit up when she talked about things she was passionet about. "Well if she does, she's hideing it really well." I mused "So, What's everyone doing for dinner?" asked Neil after a pause. "I have plans." I said almost dreamaly. "Oooh Damo's in love!" laughed Ryan "Am not!" "You are so! It's written all over those blushing cheeks of yours!" teased Paul. "Shut up" I mumbled and punched Paul in the shoulder "Oh! He's getting defencive!" Yelled Paul dancing just out of reach of my punches. "It's the first sign, denial!" laughed Ryan. I looked at my watch. 6:30 couldn't come soon enough
I glanced at my watch for the umteenth million time. I absolutly hated this class. I had finished the work and was waiting for the teacher to dismiss us. I looked at my watch again. Five. Four. Three. Two. One. The teacher stood up. I held my breath. She dismissed us. I smiled. Thank God. I grabbed my stuff and shoved it into my bag, leaving the room in a hurry. But why? Why was I so excited to see Damian? Was I falling in love with him! NO! I just had a celebrity crush! Nothing more! I tried to convince myself that I was just making a friend, not falling in love. But he was so cute and sweet and...'Snap out of it girl. Why whould he want you?' I thought to myself. I exited the building and looked for my friend. There he was. My heart did a flip flop. He was looking at his watch. I went over to him. He didn't see me. I cleared my throat to get his attention.

"A-hem!" I looked up. There she was. "You are late young lady. It's 6:05 and you said 6:00." She gave me that 'spare me' look. I chuckled. "Shall we?" I asked holding out my arm. "We shall." She walked past me. I ran to catch up. "Aww Sarah that was cold! I thought you liked me!" "I do, but this is the 21st century, Damian." "Hey chivarly ain't dead ya know." "Yes, but I'm a big girl and I can take care of myself." "Yes, but I'd feel better about myself if you would just let me escort you." "Yes but a. It's not like we're dateing or anything and b. I know my way around here better than you." "Yes but..." I couldn't come up with a witty responce. "Okay you win!" I saw a smirk dance over her lips. I realised just how fast we were walking. "Woah! Do we need to walk so fast? My legs are hurting!" I grabbed her arm to slow her down. Her skin was freezing! "Sarah are you allright? Your skin is freezing."
Oh crap. I don't want him to know. I had to lie to him. Then I looked at his blue eyes. They showed concern. I couldn't lie to him! I decided to tell the truth, but to generalize it. I didn't want him to worry about me. I also didn't want anyone else to hear it. "My skin is always cold. Don't worry, I'm not the undead or anything." That got him to smile. "You sure you're fine?" I nodded. "It's medical. Ignore it." "Allright." We entered Moody. I led him over to the caf and took out my I.D. The man at the counter swiped it. "And one guest." I said pointing to Damian. He hit the right buttons and nodded at me. "Allright, heres how the caf works." I said as I lead him in.

Sarah showed me how the caf works. We got our food (mexican) and she led me to an unoccupied table. "What'd ya like to drink, Damian?" she asked. "Just water love." she blushed and went to get the drinks. Did I just call her love? Was I really falling for this girl? She came back carring our drinks. "Will any of your friends show up?" I asked her. She shruged. I took a bite out of food in front of me. It was spicy! I mean really, really, really spicy. I gulped down my water but it only made it worse. Sarah noticed my prediciment. "Here, eat this." she handed me a chunk of bread. I took a bite. I sighed, much better. She stood up and grabed my glass. "It's old Texas wisdom Damian. If you eat something spicy cool it down with bread." She left to refill my cup. I noticed that she didn't have any bread on her plate. When she came back I asked her about it. She laughed. "Damian, I live here! This is nothing to me! This is mild amigo!" Mild. Really. She just rolled her eyes and continued eating. "So Damian, How long are you staying?" I froze, did she know? "Well how do you know that I'm not a transfer?" she giggled. God I love that sound. "Well for one, you're not wearing the transfer benie and two, you havn't been to any classes!" "All right you got me there. I'm staying for a week." "So you'll be here for the "mixer" won't you?" I was confused. "Uh no, I'll be here for the dance." "Sshhh. Thats a naughty word. We don't have "dances" we have "mixers". It's a Baptist thing" we laughed. "Do people usually ask others to "mixers"? It there really a differance?" "Usually no one asks anyone to a "mixer". We just all sorta show up. Even then people like me are lucky to get asked to dance. It's cause we're not "pretty" like other girls." "Well then their blind. I think you are very beautiful."
Did he just call me beautiful? Ha! If he knew the truth, he'd be gone in a second. "So how long have you been singing?" he said, bringing me out of my revier. Hmmm good question, how long have I been singing? "For as long as I can remember. My mother said that I was singing even before I could talk." "You have a lovely voice." "Thank you" It grew very quiet as we finished our meal. "Want to go to the pavilion?" I asked nerviously. Asking guys to go anywhere with me was so not in my character. He smiled at me. I nearly melted. We picked up our trays and I showed him where to put them. This time he gently took my hand and placed it on his arm. "Let me escort you m'lady." I laughed as I allowed him to lead me.

Nooo, Sarah's isn't a vampire! I'd shoot myself before I made that addition.
I followed her directions to the white pavilion. We sat down on opposite sides of the bench. Great. I scooted closer. She scooted closer. God, I felt like I was in "Standing on the Corner" again. I moved closer. The rest was up to her. She scooted. Yes! "So Sarah, what else do you like to do?" She sighed "I love to dance. It's my dream to waltz with a handsome man. I also love Ballet. Uh... I like to act and write storys." "Really? You know I like to write as well. I actually wrote a song called 'Faith'. Ke-uh-one of my mates helped." She smiled at me. "I know." Wait. Que the record scratch. She...She knew? "Y...You know?"
Crap. Did I just say that I knew his "secret"? Really Sarah! How dumb could you get? Well, no backing out now. "Yes Damian, I know." He still seemed confused. It was actually really quite cute. I giggled "Damian, do you know just how unbelivebly cute you are when you're confused?" "Oh ha ha. So, If you knew, why didn't you freak out and ask me for my autograph? Why didn't you tell me that you already knew?" I laughed. "I did freak out, but my freak out sessions are mostly internal. I was just too shocked to tell you that I already knew you, plus I didn't want to be written off as a fan. I actually wanted you to feel welcome here. You are, after all, a normal guy. You just also happen to be famous."

I smiled. I really liked how she didn't want things to be aquard between us. She was really sweet to think of that. I gave her a hug. "Thank you." She began to play with a mood ring that she bore on her right ring finger. "Well since you probably know a lot about me and since I've asked you about just about every little insignificant thing in your life, there's not much to talk about, is there?" She bit her lip. Was she thinking or hiding something? "Sarah?" "Yes." "Is something wrong?" "Oh no, not at all. Don't worry about me." Her eyes begged me to believe her. I decided to let the matter drop. Whatever she was hiding, was probably hidden for a good reason. With a jolt of panic I remembered my conversation with the lads. "Sarah?" "Yes?" "Do you know why we're here?" "I figured it out soon after I met you, but I won't tell anyone. Well, I did mention it to one of my directors, but I didn't name names. She's probably going to talk to the other directors and then they'll talk to the people above them." I was highly impressed. She was showing maturity and wisdom beyond her years. 'Oh my God. I'm defenatly falling for this girl.' I thought. No, she wasn't a girl. She was a woman! Oh dear. What happpens when I have to leave? Would she even want a boyfriend, let alone a long-distance relationship? Does she even like me? She leaned in. I was so glad that she couldn't see my thought process. "I guess you'll have to tell your mates." I nodded. "I go back at 7 for a rehersal." She looked at her watch. "Which is in 5 minuets. You'd better run, Damian." I got up in a hurry. "When can I see you tonight? What time will you be free?" She asked "10:00" "Sorry I'll be buisy. I get out at midnight. Something tells me that that's not a good idea." Sadly I nodded "See you tomorow then?" She nodded. "Meet me at noon at my dorm." I nodded as she stood up. "See you then Damian." She gave me a fleeting hug. I could of sworn I heard her murmer something as she walked away, but I couldn't make it out. I slowly made my way to the theater. "Uh oh! Damo's got it bad!" said Paul as I walked in late to the rehersal. "Yeah, but at least I can get the girl Paul, unlike you." "Ouch Paul. Damo's got you there." laughed Neil. Paul just rolled his eyes and turned back on me. "So, how'd you get her to like you? Head trama, amnesia?" "No, thats you." called Ryan, who had just finished his song and was heading back over to us. "I'd like for you all to meet her." "Ye must care much for this lass, Damo" said George. I nodded enthusaticaly "Yeah I do! She's real shy, but once you get to know her, she is just the funniest, smartest, wisest, most wonderful woman. 'Cause she ain't no girl." "I can tell ye want to make it work." "I do George! Plus she know who I am, so she'll understand the touring." "Wait, she knows?" asked Paul, flabbergasted. "Yes, but she won't tell anyone. She swore." "Damo, you know women, they lie." said Ryan. Keith went up to the stage. I rolled my eyes. "Ryan, this isn't "That's a Woman", Sarah isn't fickle." "Whatever you say Damo." Soon after Keith finished his songs, I went up, my mind firmly on Sarah.

Was it real or was it fake? Well whatever it was, I was falling. Hard. I'm sure that many girls are convinced that some day they'll meet their celebrity crush, hit it off, and marry them. I had no such ambitions. If Damian and I hit it off in a week then fine. In fact the next time I see him I'll tell him just that. I don't want him to wait for me if it's obvious we arn't ment for each other. He would be free...and so would I. If you love someone, let them go. God I would miss him. I would miss his laugh, his smile, his eyes...Rehersals went quite well, everyone was so professional! For the first time ever people were quiet and respectful. This was the way I prefered people to act while rehersing. It was quite refreshing. Normally everyone would talk and it got quite agravating. Laughing softly to myself I flashed back to ballet classes. 7 long years in a professional studio. Now that was professionalism. I bet Damian's real professional. No! I won't allow myself to get destracted. Noon tomorrow couldn't come soon enough.
My phone buzzed. The alarm was going off. It was time to meet Sarah. I left the theater and ran across the street to Berans. Sarah came out to meet me. Her expression puzzled me. It was almost remorseful yet guarded. I took her arm and led her to the pavilion, rehersing what I was going to say in my head. I had to tell her that I was truly in love with her. We sat down, but even before I could open my mouth she spoke. "Damian. This isn't wise. We can't go on like this." "What's wrong?" "I'm falling in love with you, that's what's wrong." That was wrong? I loved this woman and she was telling me that it was wrong? What was going on in her head? "Sarah, I'm falling in love with you as well. Why is it wrong?" "Damian! You're leaving! Though I understand why, it still dosn't make for an easy relationship!" "I'm willing to fight for it." "You don't even know what you're fighting for!" "We could make it work! We're adults!" "We're 18! We're not old enough! What if after you leave it all falls apart? I don't want to hurt you, I care too much. Life happens Damian."
"Life happens Damian." There, I said it. "Sarah, I want to fight. If it dosn't work then we can just be friends, but for now." His blue eyes betrayed him. I knew just what he wanted. Guys aren't that hard to figure out. So I beat him to the punch. I kissed him full on the lips. He was shocked at first but then responded enthusiactily. I leaned back, ending the kiss. "Wow." "I know." "You really have it bad, Damian." He just laughed at me. "I love you Sarah. Forever." Forever? I pulled off the mood ring that I wore on my right hand. "Damian, look." He peered at the tiny lettering. "Forever" He read. He took the ring from my outstreched hand and slid it on my left hand. "Are you asking me to marry you, or just for a date?" "I'll settle for a date." I glanced at my watch. Ugh. 5 till 1 and I had a class at 1:20. "Damian, I have to go. Meet me outside Logston at 2:45." I kissed his cheek and left.

Brian and Nathan were waiting for me. "Hi guys!" I said as I gave them both hugs. We began to walk over to Logsdon. "So Sarah, who's the Irishman?" asked Brian. "Bri, Nate, don't be alarmed but, his name is Damian and he's my boyfriend!" "Oh really? For how long?" asked Nathan as we crossed the street. "For about 15 minuets." I said giving them a sheepish smile. "Look what he did!" I said showing them my left hand as we entered the building. "Didn't that ring used to be on your right hand?" Brian asked. I nodded. "So either you're getting married or he really serious." "Bit too young to be married, Bri, and y'all know what my mother said." I raised my voice to a higher pitch. "If you're going to marry in college, we won't pay tuition." They began to laugh as we sat down. I love being the comedian in this group.
I waited for Sarah to get out of class. Presicely at 2:45 she came out with two guys. I felt a twing of jelousy. She spotted me, ran over, and planted a firm kiss on my lips. Jelousy? What Jelousy? "Damian, I'd like for you to meet Nathan and Brian, my best, and only, friends." She wispered the "only" part. "They are like my brothers so if you hurt me..." She wispered, letting me figure out the rest. I nodded "Gotcha" I looked at the two boys. One was tall and looked like he could be Sarah's brother, since they both hade similar hair color, and facial features. The other was slightly taller, though not as tall as I. His red hair seemed to reflect his personality. "We-he-heck. Sarah, you chose a looker." said the red-head. "Oh stop it Bri! He's so much more than handsome. He's smart, funny, charming, chiverous, and he's honest." Brian smiled. "Well he checks out with me. What'da think Nate?" The other one nodded. "All right. But if I hear even a whisper of you mistreating her, you have to answer to us." I nodded solemly "And if anyone trys to hurt her on my watch. I'll murder them." I said. They nodded and left "I'll see y'all later!" sang Sarah. "Come on. I have to go to the nurces's office." She led me across campus.
All right. Now the mysterious affliction that Sarah has will now come into play. What do you think it is? Remember: one of the side effects is cold skin, but she's not a vampire! Tell me what you think it is! Love y'all!

It was time for my monthly shot. Internally I cringed. I hate needled, but I needed my shot or bad things would happen. I hadn't told Damian because I didn't want him to freak on me. I wanted him to be happy, and if that ment hiding this thing then so be it. Outwards I tryed to be brave. I laughed and smiled like nothing was wrong. Unfortunatly Danian saw right though my chirade. "Sarah, what's wrong?" "I have to get a shot. I hate needles. You do the math." "But why do you have to get a shot? You're not ill are you?" The same concern that I had seen when he first touched my skin now clouded his blue eyes. I glanced around. There were too many people. "Not now, later." I hissed. We entered Moody and climbed the stairs to the nurses office. The receptionest looked up as we entered. "Ah, Sarah. The nurse will be with you in a moment. Please take a seat in room 4." I yanked Damian throught the door and into room 4. "Now will you tell me what's going on?" He really seemed worried. "Allright."
"Allright" She looked so sad and vulenerable. "I have a terminal disease, not cancer thank God, but I will die of it sooner or later. It's called hypothyroidism. My thyroid dosn't probuce enough hormones. That's what these shots are for. They're hormone shots, and I get them once monthly. She sighed. "You can leave now. I won't mind." I understood now. She didn't want to scare or hurt me. A normal guy would stand up and say 'Hasta La Vista Baby' and leave her sitting there. Thank God I wasn't a normal guy. "Sarah, I won't leave you. I love you." She smiled, relieved as the nurse entered. "You ready, Miss Goss?" Timidly she nodded. The nurse began to prep her arm. "And who is this strapping young lad?" "This is my boyfriend, Damian. He's visiting for the week." I could hear the pride in her voice, especally when she said 'my boyfriend'. Out came the needle. I put my arm around her shoulder. She turned to face me. I covered her eyes so she couldn't see when the needle went in. I hummed softly to get her mind off of her surroundings. "All done. Now you know the drill. Lie down for 10 minuets" said the nurse. Sarah nodded and went over to the couch. "You can look after her." The nurse nodded at me. So I sat there waiting for the 10 minuets to be up. She said that this disease would kill her. I wanted her to have the best life ever, especually now. There was no doubt in my mind, I loved this woman and I was willing to fight this disease with her. I understood two things now. I understood why she wasn't keen on boyfriends and I understood what that phrase 'In sickness and in health' ment. I began thinking about the life we would have together. It would be hard, with my touring and her illness. I wondered if she wanted kids. I was thinking so hard that I missed the 10 minuet mark. I glanced at my watch. Oops. I went over and kissed her cheek. "Come on love. 10 minuets passed us 3 minuets ago." She slowly sat up. "Generally the side effects kick in 10 minuets after the shot. I'm lucky. No side effects means a good month. No fatigue, no mood swings." "What about last month?" "Good month. In fact I havn't had a bad month since I started here."
Part 2 of this will be up tomorrow.

Why does Sarah have to die? To be honest, I really don't know. Life is just that way, I guess.
"Sarah, I want to help you fight this. I want to make the rest of your life the happiest and best years ever." "Damian, that's sweet, but I'm not sure you can handle it. After you leave, I want you to forget about me. You don't need a sick girl who will defenatly die before she's 40, holding you back. You don't understand." "Yes I do!" "No you don't! Damian you have no idea what I'm like my bad months! You wonder why I have so few friends! Well, during my bad months I say things that I don't mean. You don't know how many friends I've lost because of it. I don't want to hurt you, Damian! I love you!" She turned away. "Sarah, I vow to always love you, no matter what happens." I grabbed her left hand. "I made that promice to myself,to love you with unconditional love, when I put this on your left hand. I vowed, forever." I pulled her into a hug. I knew the sacarafice I was makeing. I didn't care. She was worth it. We walked and talked for the rest of the day, untill dinnertime, which we shared again. After dinner (salsbury stake with mashed potatos) we parted ways. She went to sing rehersal and I went back to the lads, knowing full well what would happen the moment I stepped foot into their presance. Just as I predicted, as soon as they saw me enter the teasing started. That is untill they saw my face. I had put on a brave face for Sarah, because I just knew that she dosn't want pity. Once out of her presence, however, the tears started. I didn't feel sorry for myself, I felt sorry for her. Once they saw the tears they stopped. "What happened, Damo?" asked Keith as I flopped onto one of the chairs. "Are you allright?"said Ryan "Did she turn you down?"asked Neil and Paul at pretty much the same time. I shook my head "She accepted." They looked confused. "I'm really in love with this woman. I want to marry her. Of course we'll have to wait untill we're out of college." "But then why are ye crying?" asked George, ever the father figure. "I feel sorry for her. She's ill, not cancer thank God, but something else. She dosn't want me around because of it. She says that once we leave I'm to forget about her." "Is she mental?" "Why?" "Whats going through her head?" They all began clammering at once. I held up my hand for silence. I told then about the shots, the side effects, and her cold skin. "I don't feel sorry for myself. I'm willing to help her fight, but she's hesatent. She donsn't want this to alienate me." George put a compherting hand on my shoulder. "Feel better lad?" I did. This was why I loved these guy. We could joke and tease, but when it came down to it we are always there for each other.

"Do you want us to talk to her?" asked George. I nodded. "She said that she'd be out at midnight." "It's nearly 10:00" said Ryan. "Let's head over there now, just in case they let out early." said Neil, quite practicly. So we all headed over to the band hall. We still had to stay out of sight, just in case. Thankfully, by the time we got there they were letting out. Sarah was last to come out. Neil went over to get her.
It was decided that I'd be the one to get Sarah. "Sarah!" I called. She looked surprised. Her eyes were red rimmed, like she had been crying. "Neil! What in the world are you doing here?" "Damian told us and we want to talk to you." Just like that the wall went up. "Are you saying that you don't trust my judgement?" "No! We just want to know why you made that desicion." "Do you do this for every girl that breaks her heart?" "No, and we're not doing this because you broke his heart! We're doing this because we're worried about you." "You don't need to worry about me. I'm a big girl!" "Just hear us out." I took her hand and pulled her over to the lads.
I watched as Neil tryed to get Sarah to join us. George turned to me. "Damo, it might be better if she dosn't see you. We'll try to convince her that your love is worth fighting for. Then ye can tell her how much ye love her." I nodded and went to go find a hiding place from where I could observe. I watched as they talked. It was hard watching, especially when all I wanted to do was to kiss her and tell her that I'd always love her.
"So why do y'all want to talk to me?" I was beyond mad. It was the hardest desicion I had ever made and they questioned it. "We only want to know why you don't think that the love that you have isn't worth fighting for?" said Paul "Look, it was the hardest decision I have ever made. Don't question my motives." "Sarah I know your hurt and mad but..." "Ryan, you don't even have a girlfriend! How can you know what I'm going through?" George made to intupt. "George, even you don't know. Your wife and daughter are healthy and will live a good life. Our situation is totally different. Just leave me alone." I made to leave, but Keith caught my arm. "But don't you want him to fight?" He said. That did it. I burst into tears. "I think I do and then I think I don't. I'm just so confused." George strode to my side and enveloped me into a hug. "I don't get why I'm acting like this. I'm so sorry." "I know why you are acting like this. You're in love." said a voice that I knew well. I turned to look. There he stood. I ran to hug him. "Damian I'm so sorry. I do love you and I do want to fight for this." He held me tight as I cryed. I turned to see the lads slowly leaving. "Wait!" I called. They turned to face us. "Thank you." They smiled and left us alone. After the tears subsided Damian walked me back to my dorm and kissed me good-night. I went to bed quite happy.
