“Osmosis is the process by which the diffusion of water occurs over a semi-permeable membrane…”
Damien groaned and buried his face on his arms. After his tutor had taken sick, the lads stepped in with the lessons and taken over completely. Ryan taught him math, Paul put his hand in at history since that was one subject that he absolutely loved, George took over literature, and then all the lads came together to teach him science since that had never been a favorite for any of them.
After some time, he realized that the hypnotizing tenor voice had stopped talking and he lifted his head. Blushing, he picked up his pencil and tried to take notes as Paul continued talking. After a while, however, his head felt heavy and he rested it on his arm, looking out the window at the beautiful day. This is just like school, he thought. The teachers never let us out on the most wonderful days.
“Ahem!”
Damien jumped as Keith cleared his throat loudly, catching his attention.
“You know, I think someone else should teach this lesson; you fall asleep listening to me,” muttered Paul, handing the book to Keith and walking over to sit beside the teenager at the small table.
“I’ll teach,” suggested Ryan, standing up. “But if he falls asleep again, I will personally bonk you on the head with this book,” he threatened, mock-serious.
Snorting, Damien picked up his pencil and tried again. But try as he might, he could not stay awake. And as he drifted off, he dreamed deeply of playing guitar as well as Keith instead of studying…
Suddenly, something hit him heard on the head. Startled, he jumped up, instantly awake.
“OW! That hurt!” he grumbled, rubbing his head.
Ryan shrugged. “I told you I would. Now, what’s the definition of facilitated diffusion?” he asked with a sly smile, holding the book in a subtle way of saying, you fall asleep again, you’re getting another bonk. Clear?
Damien groaned silently.
This was going to be a LONG lesson.
THE END
this is something that actualy happened in my biology class--we have one kid that always falls asleep in class, and the teacher actualy told the person sitting next to him to tap him on the head to wake him up, lol.
hope you liked it!
