As the cheesy chick-flick flashed across the screen, Ryan rested his head onto his hand, wondering why he had ever decided to take this girl out to a movie for their date.
The girl he had brought with him, a black-haired woman named Lilith, seemed completely enthralled in the movie, her eyes darting across the screen.
With a heavy sigh Ryan turned away to hide the fact that his eyes were slowly closing…
“You don’t understand!” The girl slender brunette in the movie cried to her overly handsome love interest. “I love you!”
“Oh darling!” The egomaniac replied. “I never meant--”
The resounding sound of gunfire interrupted his cliché speech as Ryan burst into the room, rifle sputtering out bullets everywhere. “Ahh!” The girl screeched, looking down at her once beloved, before glancing up at Ryan. “Ooh…” She smiled ever so sweetly at him.
He gave his old “bad boy” smirk back.
“You rescued me,” She began. “from that boorish, clichéd, egomani--”
“Ryan!” another woman’s voice interrupted.
Ryan suddenly jerked upright in his seat. He looked up and saw the credits rolling down the screen. “Are you okay?” Lilith asked, one eyebrow arched.
“Uhh…yeah…” He shook his head, trying to snap himself back into reality.
“Did you enjoy the movie?”
“Yes! Yes of course!” he cried out, trying anything to keep her from realizing he had been asleep.
“Really?” She sounded disgusted. “I thought it was for too…”
“Cliché?” Ryan finished excitedly.
“Yes! I mean, the whole. ‘I love you, I love, I love you’ speech? Blech!”
“I know! His acting was ridiculous!”
She sighed. “Give me Star Wars any day.”
He looked up at her in shock. “You like Star Wars?”
“Love it! Who couldn’t?!”
“I know!” he started laughing even harder. “Do you want to have dinner with me tonight?”
“Sure.” She smiled.
“Well, were would you like to go?” he asked, cringing as he thought of all the expensive places she might name off.
“Hmm…” she contemplated for a minuet. “Burgers sound perfect.”
He sighed in relief. “I think I just fell in love.”
“Don’t you go and start acting like the guy in the movie.” She shoved his arm.
“Don’t worry,” he shoved her back even harder. “I’m no where near that chivalrous.”
She popped back up, giving him a playful scowl. “Good.” With that she grabbed his arm. “Come on! I’m starving!”
THE END
Actually, there's a bit more about the rest of them going to movies for their first dates, but they were so short compared to this one, I just didnt bother.
