Half drunk, sitting on bar stool, strumming his guitars, the melodies of an original song flowed out of Tommy Hayes' mouth. His voice was a mixture of Irish folk and American country. The pub door opened, with the sound of a bell, and in walked a shaggy blond surfer. Sitting down at the bar, "Bartender, Guinness, please." Keith said. The Bartender filled the glass, and slid it down the bar. Keith's attention was directed to the brunette on stage, but like a magician Keith stuck his hand out and caught the Guinness. It was like Keith's hand was magnetized and drew the Guinness towards him. "Bartender, who is that?" Keith asked motioning towards the man on stage. "Who that, aw, that is just Tommy, plays every night." The Bartender replied wiping down the bar with a white cloth. "Do ya think I could sing a song with him?" Keith asked. "If he let's ya, I don't see why he wouldn't." The bartender added, "Hope ya can see." "I have no problem with that." Keith said walking towards the stage. Tommy had just finished his song. "Hey Tommy, my name is Keith Harkin, mind if I sing a song with ya." "Sure go ahead." Tommy said, in a voice that sounded like an Irish Jack Sparrow. Keith grabbed the guitar, "Whatcha gonna play?" "You know this song." Keith hinted. He started picking out a tune, a familiar tune. It was a faster version of Danny Boy, one that Keith thought that Tommy would enjoy singing. The harmonies of the two men were beautiful, blending in a way more unique than Keith's personality. Finishing Danny Boy Keith handed the guitar back to Tommy, who set it on the stand. "I'll be back in a sec folks." He said hopping of the stage after Keith. Keith sat down at his original bar stool and the bartender handed him a fresh Guinness. Tommy plopped onto a stool next to Keith. Still half drunk he asked, "Where did you learn to sing like that?" "Water for my friend." Keith said to the bartender. He then turned towards Tommy, "Grew up with it in my family, been singing my whole life." Keith grabbed the sliding water that was slid by the bartender, it was Keith's hidden talent grabbing sliding drinks, and handed it to Tommy. "You got a unique voice." Tommy commented. "So do you." Keith said. "Maybe we can jam together sometime." Tommy suggested. "Yeah maybe." Keith replied. "Any way I can contact you?" Keith thought, "Let me write down my number for ya." He pulled out his wallet in search of a piece of paper, and their in the front pocket were a few business cards, "Where did those come from." Keith mumbled to himself, he thought Sharon must have magically placed them their. Pulling one out, he handed it to Tommy. "Here ya go." "Wow, thanks, here is my number." Tommy said, while Keith whipped out his phone so he could put the number in the phone book. "Well I better get back on stage." He got off the bar stool and walked back to the stage, leaving Keith sipping his Guinness on the bar stool. Picking up his guitar, Tommy started to strum the tune of another original work, "I see the ocean blue, I see the stars like you. I see the sky so clear, If only someone would hear. Waitin' all my life For a moment like this, Waitin' all day and night For a chance in the light."
Just then Keith asked the bartender, "How long has he been playing." "Only a few weeks or so." The bartender replied.
"Come again Come again Come again Come again Come again Come again. It only takes time That's what I am told Where's my luck o' the Irish Where is that pot o' gold. Over the ocean blue Where can I find you. Looking at the clouds in the sky, If only you didn't lie."
"What?!?" Keith said astonished. "He came in asked if he could play, never touched a guitar. That guitar isn't even his, belongs to the owner of the pub." "When does he learn, take lessons?" "He doesn't, the songs just started coming, makes most of em' up on the fly, like the one he is singing now." Keith was in utter amazement. Tommy had just become the beastliest person ever.
"Waitin' all my life For a moment like this, Waiten' all day in night, For a chance in the light. Come again Come again Come again Come again Come again Come again Come again Come again Come again."
Keith walked out of the bar with a smile on his face, he was going to make a kid very happy tomorrow.

Keith woke up the next morning with the song that he last heard Tommy sing stuck in his head. He found himself humming it as he got his stuff ready for surfing. Keith ate breakfast, and walked out of his house. Putting the board on top of his volks wagon he headed to his secret surf spot. Parking his car he got out, and grabbed his stuff. He had just put his stuff down on the beach when he heard the sound of a bongo drum. He heard the voice of tenor humming, then he heard a guitar starting to strum a few chords. Keith started to walk towards these two guys. After just a few steps Keith heard the sound of a man humming, very deeply like George or Damian. Keith got only a few feet away from them and sat down quietly so he didn't disturb them. The pair started to sing. "The night sky." The tenor sang. "The ocean wide." The baritone sang, he had range closer to Damian's. "Possibilities" "White v-neck tees" The tenor sang. Then they started to sing together, their voices blending like bananas and strawberries in a smoothie. "So we thought you were gone. But you come alive through every song. Taking care of each other Brothers and a mother." "The morning sun" The tenor sang. "football matches won." The baritone sang, "Follow me" "mud stained tees" The tenor sang. Then again they joined in perfect harmony. The beat of the bongo gave the song personality. Keith thought it would sound different with just guitar. "So we thought you were gone. But you come alive through every song. Taking care of each other, Brothers and a mother. We grew up to fast, But our friendship will last. Taking care of each other, Brothers and a mother. You told us to share. Look, ma, we care." The song ended, it had brought tears to Keith's eyes. He wanted to say something so badly, but he felt it was the wrong time. The two men were laughing. One laughing louder than the other. The one on guitar turned his head, and he said, "Hey Dom, I believe we have company." His brother then turned around, he looked exactly like the guitarist, in a deep voice he replied, "Your right Der." He motioned to Keith, 'Hey bud, come on over." Keith walked up, "You guys have some amazing talent." "Thank you." They replied simultaneously. Keith was looking at the oddly, and they both laughed. The guitarist who seemed more outgoing said, "My name is Derrick, I play, guitar, prefer bass, but when you are jamming it is easier to do so with a guitar." Keith looked at the guitar, it was a McPherson, Keith liked this guy even more, "I am his twin." Derrick pointed towards the man with the bongo. "Dominique, play the drums." Dominique said. Keith's confused look on his face went away, talented twins. This was awesome. He could already see their personalities Dominique was an introvert while Derrick was an extrovert. "So whatcha doin' at the beach this fine morning?" Keith asked. Indeed it was a fine morning, the sun was out. "Well we wanted a little jam session, plus the surf why else." Derrick said. "Why don't you bring your stuff over, and we can catch some waves." Dominique suggested. "Sure." Keith said, he ran to get his stuff, and set it next to theirs. Derrick noticed the guitar case, "What kinda guitar is it?" "Well that one is one of my McPherson's my other one is at home, with the rest of my collection." "Great guitar." Derrick said. He paused, "I know where I have seen you!" He exclaimed. "I thought you looked familiar." Dominique added. "You were one of the featured guitarists on the website." Derrick finished. "Man you are amazing." "Thanks." Keith was getting bashful." Instead of going to surf, they talked for about two hours. They talked about what they did, success, careers. Keith finally looked at the phone he noticed the time. "I got a go." "Where to?" Dominique asked. "I need to go buy a guitar." "Another one." Derrick joked. "Not for me self for a friend, who doesn't have the money." "Oh. well see ya." Dom said. "Wait, I would hate to see us loose contact, your a pretty awesome guy, wanna exchange info?" Derrick asked. "Sure." Keith said handing them another one of the magic business cards, that mysteriously landed in his wallet. Dominique gave him each of their numbers. Keith left. He headed to the towns guitar shop. He was a frequent visitor.

Keith walked in, "Hey Buddy." "Keitho, my man, what are ya looking for today. Sheet music, blank sheet music, picks?" "Naw, a guitar." "Another one?" Buddy said. "No, it's for a friend of mine." "Well, I'll let ya go in, in a sec, their is a kid in their right now, testing out a Yamaha." He was gesturing at the sound booth, which had walls lined with electric acoustic guitars, exactly what Keith was looking for. "Is he any good?" Keith asked. "Why don't you tell me." Buddy flipped, the switch, and all of sudden the little music shop was flooded with chords of an unknown song. "Hey, hey, hey-o, hey hey, hey-o For, so long now, I've wanted to play, But you told me I couldn't So I say Hey, Hey, Hey-o, Hey, Hey, Hey-o Was, I to young? Was it a crime? You told me, never. But I kept on saying, Hey, Hey-o, Hey, Hey, Hey-o Hey, Hey-o, Hey, Hey, Hey-o"
Keith's mouth dropped. He whispered to Buddy, "Oh he is more than good. How old is he?" "Eight- teen." Buddy answered. "Eight-teen, are you joking." Keith ran his hand through his hair, "Naw, not possible."
"The world turns The young learn I have to play, And I love to say, Hey, Hey-o, Hey, Hey, Hey-o Hey, Hey-o, Hey, Hey, Hey-o" The kid walked out of the sound booth. "This one is great, I'll take it." "Let me ring ya up, then I will help ya Keith." "Thanks." The kid said handing him the Classic Series Fifties Stratocaster in baby blue. "Whose payin' for it?" Keith asked, he knew the price, this kid looked like he did not have the money. "I am." The kid replied, "Mum wont let me play, so I moved out, got a job and buy all me own stuff, been saving up for this puppy for a while." "No kiddin'." Keith replied. "I'm Keith." "Oh, I know who you are." The kid said, "See you in here all the time, I'm surprised you don't sleep here." He laughed, "I'm Landon." Keith laughed as well. "Landon, nice to meet ya, glad you didn't listen to yer mom. You got some awesome talent." "So do you." He laughed. Buddy came back, and handed Landon, the guitar in a case, "Case is free of charge, Keitho, hope you don't mind, gave him your info." "Naw, Hey Landon, call me if ya need me." "Thanks, Keith, see ya." Landon walked out of the store. "Now what can I help you with." Buddy said walking out from behind the counter. Keith walked over to the sound booth, with Buddy following, "Can I give that one a try." He was pointing to a red Yamaha. "Good choice, the CPX700." He walked in, took it off the wall, walked out and handed it to Keith. Keith started to tune it. "Who ya buyin' it for?" Buddy asked. "Aw, just this kid at a pub, doesn't own a guitar, he uses the owners. I think he should have his own, plus he has some mad skills." "Don't own his own guitar. How did he learn?" "Bartender said, he asked if he could play one night, and bam." Keith started to pick out the tune of Lauren and I. "Can I see what this sounds like plugged in." "Sure." Buddy got the chord and plugged it in. Keith kept playing, he stopped, "This is perfect." "Does the price matter?" "Nope." Then it hit him, "I know how he can pay me back." "Alright." Buddy took the guitar, rung it up, "I will throw in a hard case, picks, and song books, and blank music free of charge." "Thanks man." Keith finished up in the store, and carried the new guitar out. He stuck it in his car, and headed to the pub for lunch. "Hey Keith." A few voices said as he walked in, surprising him.
i hoped y'all liked it. thanks for reading. i really appreciate it.

Well it was three. One was a young tall, dark, and hansom lad of seventeen drinking a soft drink. The other two were twins one with Guinness and one with a Jameson. "Damo, what ya up to." "Keith, listening to some great music." Damian replied gesturing to the man on stage. The man was Tommy playing a song on a borrowed guitar. "You got good taste in music buddy." "Of course I do, I like the stuff you play right." Keith punched him. The twins walked up to him, "Hey, Keith, see you got the guitar." They greeted simultaneously. "Yep." Keith replied, "Were are me manners, Dominique, Derrick, this is a good buddy of mine, who is in Celtic Thunder with me, Damian. Damo this is Dom and Der." "Hello." Damian shook their hands. "So how did you find out about Celtic Thunder?" "The McPherson website." The two replied. "I see." Damian said. "If you will excuse me, I need to go give this to someone." Keith held up the guitar. "Go right ahead." The threesome of names that started with the letter d replied. Keith walked up to the stage. In the middle of his song Tommy stopped "Keith, buddy how's it goin'. Folks I will be right back." Tommy set the guitar down and hopped off the stage. "I got something for ya." Keith said setting the guitar case on stage. "What is it?" Tommy asked, "Ya gonna play me a song?" "Nope." Keith snapped open the guitar case. "That is one guitar." Tommy said in aw. "One guitar that now belongs to you." Keith said. "Naw, I couldn't." "You could, and ya know why, you have talent, you should be able to have your own guitar, you should be able to play where ever you want." Tommy picked up the guitar and strummed it. The sound was beautiful. He unplugged the borrowed one, and plugged in his flashy red one. He strummed it, the sound echoed through out the pub. "Everyone, I would like to thank Keith here, for buying me this rad guitar." He started to strum, "How can I repay ya?" Suddenly the pub door opened with a ding of the little bell that over hung it.

Walking in was Landon. Keith smiled, and whispered to Tommy, "When ya finish this set, join me and a few friends and I will tell ya." Tommy nodded, and started playing. Keith ordered a Guinness. And called Landon over to where Dominique, Derrick, Damian were sitting. "Guys this is Landon." "Hey Landon." Damian said, "I am Damian, but I gotta leave. See ya Keith." "Bye D." Keith replied as Damian walked out of the pub, "Landon, this is Dominique and this is Derrick. Der, Dom, this is Landon." "Hey." The three of them said simultaneously, laughing. Tommy finished and walked up to the group. "So Keith," He started, "What is this all about?" Keith looked at the four awesome musicians standing in front of him, "Well I have his epic idea." The guys leaned in full of curiosity. "Well I think it is epic. Anyways, what do ya think of..."

"Oh goodness, how do I put this. With out is sounding stupid." "What are ya trying to get at Keitho?" Landon asked. "Well, let's see... no that sounds stupid." "Out with it man." Derrick yelled. "A band." "A what?" Dominique asked. "It's perfect." Tommy said. It took a minute but slowly the guys got it. "I love it." Der said. "Oh it is great." Dom added. Landon was hesitant. He was thinking about what his mom would say. "Screw it. I'm in." "Screw what?" Derrick asked. "Aw nothing." He winked at Keith. "So how do we start one?" Tommy asked. Everyone was clueless. "Well I think we did the first important thing." Keith said, "We got members." "What about a name." Dom inquired. "I had not thought that far." Keith admitted. "How about... no that is stupid." Der mumbled. "I know... nope that doesn't work." Tommy tried. "Since we are struggling so much, why don't we just call the band 'The Band'" Landon suggested. "That is brilliant." Keith said. "It works." Derrick added. "Funny yet catchy." Tommy described. "To The Band." Dominique raised his glass. "The Band." They guys echoed. "Now what?" Landon asked. "Songs?" Keith suggested. "Or instruments." Tommy said. "Well." Keith started, "You, me, and Landon play guitar, Dom plays the drums, and Derrick plays bass." "Alright instruments are covered. Now onto songs." Derrick said. This was all going great, all the guys were getting along. No one was arguing and everyone was taking the lead. "Well, I know that everyone has their own songs, so we will definitely do those." Keith said. "We can write stuff as a group." Dominique suggested. He was talking more. "Just one request." Landon spoke, it was soft. "What is it?" Derrick asked. "No lead singers, I think we each should sing all the songs, well ya know what I mean." Landon explained. "I totally agree with you." Keith said. he did not want that. He looked at the guys, they were nodding their heads, all in agreement. "Hey can we get some music." A person in the pub yelled. "Well guys what do ya say." Tommy said. "Would you lot join me." The guys looked at each other, "Um..." They all started simultaneously.

"I don't know." Landon said."This is your gig." Dom added. "Your place." Derrick added. "Go on up their, do what ya want." Keith replied. Tommy nodded. He smiled, and walked up to the stage. He grabbed his new guitar. He started a series of beats, where he would strum the guitar then hit it with his hand. Strum. Hit. Strum. Strum Hit. And it repeated. The regulars in the pub, started talking it was a new song. no one had heard it. The guys of The Band looked at each other, making stuff up on the spot. They were amazed. Strum. Hit. Strum. Strum. Hit. "You know, he has never had a lesson, just started playing one day. And that is what comes." The guys were amazed. Strum. Hit. Strum. Strum. Hit. He started to sing, "Time flies le me tell you Cloudy skies and the ocean blue. Hard nights Harder days Great sights Greater plays Forever new Forever it stays." Derrick leaned over to Keith, "How did you meet Damian?" He asked. "Charity gig." Keith replied the other guys nodded. "How did ya meet Tommy?" Landon asked. "Walked in the pub the other day, and he was singing. could not believe his talent. Or his story." Keith answered. Tommy continued to sing his new song, "Friends come and friends go The great old tales that we all know Hard nights Harder days Great sights Greater plays Forever new Forever it stays." Their drinks were replenished. Tommy went on, "Harmonies so beautifully sounding Flights of voices it's astounding. Hard nights Harder days Great sights Great plays Forever new Forever it stays." Strum. Hit. Strum. Strum. Hit. Strum. Hit. Hit. Strum. Hit. Strum. Hit. Strum. Strum. Hit. The beat and the music changed as he started the refrain. "Wondering when it's shown Wondering how long I've known Wondering who and where Wondering why I care Hard nights Harder Days Great sights Greater plays Forever new Forever it stays Forever it stays Forever It stays" He stopped, "Thank you guys so much for the support. I am now in a band, and will never forget where I began. See ya." He waved and slung his guitar over his back and walked off the stage. He flashed a pearly white smile, and headed to the table. "What did ya think?" He asked. "Awesome." Landon commented. "Wow." Dom said with his mouth hanging down to his shoes. "I am speechless." Der replied. "Ya never disappoint." Keith added. "Thanks guys." Dom was making a beat on the table. Keith started to hum. Tommy put his guitar on his knee, and picked out a tune. Der hummed a low harmony, that was almost like he was playing the strings of a base. Landon hummed a high harmony. The guys were having great craic. Finally they ended their little session. They laughed. "Well guys I think we have the beginnings of our first song." Landon said. "What about a label, who is gonna sign us." Derrick worried. "I think I got a solution." Keith said. "I can sign us to Busty Music, and I can hook us up for some recordings in London." "Sweet." Dom added. "When do we go?" Landon asked. Keith laughed, "Well..." he started.

(what's this an update... sorry about the shortness.
"We can head to my place, and I can get the basics sorted out." 'Why your place?" Landon asked. "Busty Music is my label. I think it is a certain way to get someone to sign us. Plus I can get us some sweet connections in London." Keith answered. "Nice." Dom smiled, "What are we waitin' for." He got up. The rest soon followed in pursuit. They headed to Keith's recording studio, which was surprisingly organized. It had a large sound booth, like the kind they had in the days the Beetles recorded. It was vintage looking. They're was a McPherson in a stand near the sound equipment and there was another guitar in the recording booth. Keith pulled out some papers. "Here's a contract. Read it through do what ya want. I hope ya sign it." The contract was like any other, but a little looser, this was no certain thing that would last forever. Of course he had quite a few contracts. For example his sister signed a slightly different contract. After the guys read through the contracts, they signed them. "The first official step is finished." Tommy said. "So if y'all will give me some time, by the end of the week I think I can hook up a recording gig for us in London. With some big name producers." "Sweet." Dom said. He picked up the McPherson. "You know we haven't really heard you." The guys all nodded in agreement. Keith grabbed the guitar. "Alright, this is a little number a wrote a while back." He began to strum a tune, he never played the song the same way, but it was catchy none the less. It was sort of speedy, but had an ease to it like the waves. "SO SEE THE LEAVES FALL TO THE GROUND, AND SEE THEM LYIN’ ALL AROUND, COS STILL I CAN’T SEE YOU, AND THERE’S THE WIND THAT PLAYS IN THE AIR, FLYING AROUND, HOW IT DOES NOT CARE STILL I CAN’T SEE YOU
AND THE SEASONS PASS AWAY AND I STILL SIT HERE LONELY, EACH AND EVERY DAY, WONDERIN’ WHAT’S GONE WRONG. ‘COS I DON’T REMEMBER SEASONS LASTIN’ OH SO LONG OH SO LONG
AND I STILL CAN’T SEE YOU AND I STILL CAN’T SEE YOU AND I STILL CAN’T SEE YOU LAUREN AND I LAUREN AND I
AND THERE’S THE STARS WAY IN THE SKY LEADING MY WAY AND I DON’T KNOW WHERE OR WHY STILL I CAN’T SEE YOU. AND WHEN MY BACK’S AGAINST THE WALL I SEE A REASON FOR IT ALL BUT STILL I CAN’T SEE YOU
AND I STILL CAN’T SEE YOU AND I STILL CAN’T SEE YOU AND I STILL CAN’T SEE YOU LAUREN & I LAUREN & I " He finished and looked at them any doubts they had were gone. They're next venture would be to London in a week. But this venture was different than any of them had expected.
