Ok, Well I think I'm going to repost this... and I'm putting it here because if I put it in the proper lad forum it will give away the end! here's the first part again! (It will be quick in posting to begin with because the majority is already written!) Ryan Kelly, the perfect date for any girl. Paul Byrom, the sensitive guy that people don’t notice at first. Keith Harkin, the surfer who can make almost any girl swoon. Jenny Evans, the girl who is best friends with Ryan, Paul, Keith, Damian and George. Not to mention that she is stuck between Ryan, Paul, and Keith’s affections. He was tall, with black hair, blue-green eyes, and a grin that could melt the heart of any girl. His sense of humor has always been my favorite part about him. The only problem I have come across in him is that all the ladies are attracted to him. Why? Because he is known as a bad boy that normally has difficulties staying with one girl. But he still is one of the best friends I could have ever asked for. His name? Ryan Kelly, one of the five members in Celtic Thunder, and from my hometown of The Moy in Northern Ireland. “Jenny! Come on or we’re going to be late! Sharon will kill us!” Ryan shouted through my hotel room door. Sharon was the producer of Celtic Thunder and she was always great fun to be around. “No Ryan, she won’t kill me, she’ll wind you up!” I replied laughing. I was 25 years old and what most people consider Irish, long, curly red hair, pale skin, and green eyes. The reason I was friends with these guys? I was part of their orchestra that went on tour with them. I tended to play woodwind instruments, but recently the main dancer, Zara, was teaching me how to dance in order to be her backup. Not to mention I had known Ryan since we were kids so when he became a member of Celtic Thunder he “introduced” me to Sharon. “Ha ha Jen.” Ryan replied as another voice was heard. A sweet Dublin accent was soon entering my room. “How long does it take for a girl to get ready? I mean we ate breakfast an hour ago and you left right after that!” “Paul Byrom. You cannot rush a girl. We take as long as we need to.” I replied back to him, knowing fully well that soon the other three guys would be standing outside of my door very shortly. Paul was a wonderful friend; he had brown hair with a style that changed from day to day. He had brilliant blue eyes that were stunning and could show you any emotions easily, not to mention he had the swankiest eyebrows around. His voice could easily make any girl melt, and I mean both voices, his normal voice and his singing voice. In my opinion, he also had one of the funniest nicknames of the group. Based on how he acts on stage, his fans began to call him, “The Swanky Tenor.” “Now seriously Jen, I want to get going. I want to go back home,’ Keith said suddenly. “Ok, so three of you are there now…” I mumbled to myself. Keith was an interesting member of the group. All the other guys looked like they belonged in Ireland or Scotland, but not Keith. Keith was a surfer; he had shaggy blond hair and a voice that could tell a story in a song so well. Keith loved to write his own music and he was lucky enough to have one of his songs put into the show. He also loved to pull pranks on everyone, but always managed to get out of serious trouble when needed, normally placing the blame on Paul. “Oh so she’s not talking to us now?” Paul said. “Obviously not,” replied Ryan in a sarcastic tone. “What’s the commotion about?” Damian McGinty asked. He was such a sweet guy. We all treated him like our little brother, especially since, aside of George, he was the only one with a steady significant other. Damian was adorable; he had brown hair with bright blue eyes. Hearing his voice the first time I thought it was a 30-year-old, but he was only 14! It was simply amazing. “Jen’s not coming out of her room and Sharon’s going to want to leave soon,” Keith told Damian. “Guys, she’s a girl. Leave her be and she’ll be out when she’s ready,” Damian said to the guys. “Why thank you Damian, finally someone that sees sense,” I said through a laugh as I finally opened my door. “Sorry it takes me forever to pack, and then to go back through the room to make sure I’m not forgetting anything. Let’s go guys.” I said as I walked past them towards the stairs. They just look at each other and just start laughing. “Um guys? Any particular reason that you’re laughing?” “No Jen, none at all.” Ryan said through a smile. ‘I don’t trust them… not at all.’ I thought to myself. Knowing these guys they would have some prank to pull on me on the way home. But the sad thing is, the tour is over and I won’t be seeing them as much anymore. Obviously I’ll be seeing Ryan, but I’m going to miss all of them so much. These past few months have been some of the best of my life. Waking up every morning and seeing the best friends a girl could ask for, guys you could go to for advice when you need it, it made my life so much easier. Not to mention they all have a great sense of humor so it was never boring being with them. “Guys? Are you around?” Shoot, I got way too lost in my thoughts. Now the guys have disappeared and that probably means I’m going to be in trouble. Oh well, I think to myself as I continue making my way downstairs towards the entrance where we would be meeting Sharon. “So you guys were the ones complaining, I’m heading downstairs and it will be your heads not mine!” I say to the thin air around me expecting the worse to happen. “ There were three old gypsies came to our hall door, They came brave and boldly-o, One sang high and the other sang low, And the Lady sang the raggle taggle gypsy-o,” Was heard from my left coming from Damian. “ It was upstairs and downstairs the lady went, Put on her suit of leather-o, T’was a cry all around the door, She’s away wi’ the raggle taggle gypsy-o,” then came from my right coming from Keith. “ It was late that night when the lord came in, Enquiring for his lady-o, The servant girl replied to her lord, She’s away wi’ the raggle taggle gypsy-o,” Came from the right once more, thanks to Paul. “ Then he rode east and he rode west, he rode north and south also, but when he rode to the wide open fields, it was there that he spied his lady-o,” Lastly came from Ryan, who somehow managed to appear behind me. “Guys!!” I said to them after I flinched, shaking my head. “You are all crazy…” I tell them as I link arms with Ryan and Paul. The five of us walk downstairs and see Sharon talking to George as she keeps checking her watch. We all share a glance and realize that we probably will be in trouble, even though she should know by now that it is impossible for us to be on time for anything that’s not a show. “Do I even want to know what the five of you have been doing?” Sharon says to us as soon as we are in her eyesight. “You know what, never mind. Load up and we’ll head to the airport,” she said quickly and began to walk with George towards the bus. I couldn’t believe that we were finally heading back home. It feels like it was just yesterday that I was asked to be a part of the band that travelled with the lads, and that Zara had just asked me to be her backup. It was great to be able to be doing both parts when I was needed, although Zara was almost always at the shows. I must say I really want to be home, I miss my friends from there, and the banter that was always available with my friends, especially between Ryan and myself after all our friends found out that we would be going on tour together. I have an older brother who is Ryan’s age, and when we were younger I had the biggest crush on him. Considering Ryan is Eric’s age (Eric is my brother), it seems fitting now that I look back on it that I had a crush on him. Eventually the crush dwindled away, but Ryan and I did become the best of friends. We always have had music in common, which allowed us to hang out a lot making music. Eric would always find it hysterical whenever he found out I had been with Ryan earlier. Looking back I don’t know why now, but it doesn’t really matter. “Is there something wrong with Jen? Something doesn’t seem right with her… Does she not want to go home? What the heck is wrong?” Suddenly I heard the guys whispering questions that sounded like they were about me. I look up towards them questioningly. “Did I do something wrong?” I asked innocently. “What? …No, not at all.” Keith responded with a strange tone in his voice. I sighed, thinking how great it will be to be around girls again. I mean I love the guys and all, but I miss my girlfriends. Especially when I long to discuss men with them. If you haven't read it before, or even if you have, please leave a comment!!!

Next part The flight home overall was wonderful. We had a great time together. I feel that Damian was getting confused off and on, but I think he was fine with it. The majority of the ride he was either sleeping or listening to his music. George was talking with Sharon, and I was in between Paul and Keith. Ryan was on the other side of Paul, and I must say it was a very interesting trip being between the three of them. Before we knew it, the ride home was over. We arrived back in Ireland, and coming into the airport seeing all of our family and friends waiting for us there was amazing. I didn’t realize how much I had missed them until I actually saw them again. Suddenly all I could see was a mass of brown hair. “Geez, hi Alanna!” I said as I greeted my best friend since I was a kid. I gladly returned the hug, knowing that since I hadn’t seen her for three months we would be spending a lot of time together tonight catching up on everything. “So tonight Jen you are telling me all about the tour and how it was spending time with all these guys!” “Don’t worry Alanna, we’ll have plenty of time tonight…” I said with a grin on my face. All of a sudden I felt myself being picked up from behind, “Eric!! Put me down! Please!” I yelled to him as he put me down with a sheepish look on his face. I turned towards him and gave him a huge hug. “I’ve missed my big brother. How have you been, and how’s your girl?” “I’m great Jen, very happy that you’re finally home. And Emily is fine, she’ll be pleased to see you when you stop by for dinner tomorrow,” he told me with a smirk on his face. “Oh I’m not busy tomorrow Eric, not at all!” I said with an exasperated look on my face. “Don’t worry, Ryan will be there, and possible Paul and Keith too.” “And I just spent the last three months with them and you’re using them as leverage to get me to come to your house? Wow Eric, you are way out of practice with trying to get your way,” I told him as I walked away to go say good-bye to George. “George, I’m going to miss you. Thanks for making me feel so welcome with the group,” I told him as I walked up to him. It was great that I was able to have a father figure on the tour. As soon as I said that to him he wrapped me into what everyone knows as a George hug. “Aww George, I’m going to miss you. Keep in touch until I see you!” “Jen, no problem at all. You keep in touch too, and trust me, you’ll be seeing me more often than you think,” He said with a grin and continued to say good-bye to everyone else around us. “Well that was strange…” I thought to myself as I headed over to Damian and Paul to tell them good-bye for now. Quickly I walk up to Paul and wrap my arms around him, “Bye Paul. I’m going to miss the swankiest guy in the group,” I tell him and give him a wink. “Oh Jen, I’ll miss you too. Thanks for coming on the tour with us. You’ll be doing it for the next one right?” “Of course Paul. I’ve already made it fit into my schedule. Or should I say my job-less schedule?” I said through a laugh. Being a professional musician I could choose the gigs I wanted, or didn’t want to do. It did help make things a lot easier if something major came up. Unlike Ryan, I didn’t have to quit my job. “I’m glad then Jen. I have to head out, but I’ll see you soon!” He told me with a smile and a wave. “Damian! My favorite brother!” I said as soon as Paul walked away. “Don’t let Eric hear you say that,” He said through a laugh. “Aw, he knows that I like you better. So you’re coming to visit me soon right? At least while you’re not doing your schoolwork?” “Of course Jen! Maybe even while I’m doing schoolwork. We’ll see what happens. I’m sorry Jen, it looks like my parents want to head out. I’ll see you soon!” He said and gave me a hug and went to join his parents. I sighed. It was just Keith, Ryan, and myself left in the airport, along with our families. Thankfully Keith and Paul lived close enough to Ryan and I that we would be able to see each other more often. “Keith, I’m guessing you have to get going soon?” “Yeah Jen I’m sorry. Call me if you want to talk or hang. Or even let me teach you to surf,” He said with a grin as I laughed. “You can count on it Keith.” I told him and gave him a hug as he then walked off to join his family. “So Jenny, it looks like it’s just us left. So let’s go have a great time!” Ryan said as he dragged me off towards my brother and Alanna. “My house ok guys? I want to catch up with you two if you are able to.” Eric was Ryan’s best friend, and Alanna was my best friend, so the four of us have grown up together. We have always been really close, and it has been great to be able to have these people that I can go to if needed. Our childhood was interesting because Alanna and I enjoyed annoying Ryan and Eric, but when we got older we started hanging out with them more. Due to this we all became inseperable while we were all home. Then Eric met Emily, but that’s for another time. Emily really does fit well into our group, but sometimes we like to just relax with the four of us. “Sure Ryan, I’m just spending the night with my favorite girlfriend, so since she’s going to your house I’ll tag along, right Jen?” Alanna said with a laugh. “Why not Alanna. Come on Ryan, Eric. Let’s head home.” I said with a sigh. As we left the airport I looked back towards it, not being able to believe that the tour was over. I almost felt empty inside since I knew I wouldn’t wake up to some sort of prank, or Paul’s hatred of the morning. It just felt really sad, and I almost felt out of place. Then I realized that it was just the in between time, we’d al be back together in no time. I would take things as they are right now and enjoy them! Now I could talk to Alanna about America, and the guys and all of the tour. Tonight I knew that I wouldn’t be getting much sleep, but it was going to be a wonderful night. Please let me know what you think!!!

Our car ride back to the Moy was one of the most interesting experiences I have had in awhile. Eric was driving Ryan, myself, and Alanna back to Ryan’s house. All I can say is that chaos was ensuing in the car. Alanna and I were sitting in the backseat, giggling like little schoolgirls. Ryan was in the front seat quietly talking with Eric. All of a sudden Ryan asked me what I wanted for my birthday.
“My birthday?” I said, speechlessly. I had forgotten that it was almost Christmas, meaning that my birthday was next month. The whole car was silent, save for the music playing in the background.
“Yeah, Jenny. Obviously we have Christmas presents sorted out, but now you need to tell us birthday stuff.” Ryan said in what seemed to be a joking manner.
“I don’t care. You know me, I’ll be happy with anything you get.” I said with a wink, not wanting to say what was actually on my mind. As soon as I said this Alanna gave me a questioning look. ‘Shoot,’ I thought to myself. ‘She probably knows that I was not being truthful with that statement. As soon as Ryan and Eric weren’t looking at me, I glanced at her and mouthed the word “Later.” She gave a small smile and continued to talk to my brother.
“Ryan,” I whispered, “Is it just me or does this not exactly feel right?”
“Jen, you’re right. Something doesn’t feel right.”
“Do you think it’s because we won’t be seeing the other guys tomorrow…”
“You know, that’s probably it. But didn’t your brother say something about a get-together at his house?”
“I think so, but who knows if they’ll show up. And it won’t be the same as the tour was…”
“Ryan and Jen, welcome home!” Eric and Alanna yelled as soon as we pulled up outside of Ryan’s house. I gave Ryan a sad smile, although I was happy to be home. When we walked into the house we were greeted by Ryan’s parents, along with his dog and cat, Harry and Molly. It was great seeing them once more. Having grown up with Ryan we were really close to his parents. We reunited with them and they headed back to their home, leaving the four of us by ourselves.
“So guys, spill about everything that happened on tour,” Alanna said to us, forcing us to sit down.
“Geez Alanna, you don’t even give us five minutes to ourselves to slightly unpack.”
“Obviously I know the two of you wouldn’t even bother to unpack, you’d just go in your rooms… wait! Jen we’re not even at your house so how can you unpack?”
“Um… I’d help Ryan?”
“Lame excuse sis,” Eric piped in.
“Oh don’t even start with me,” I told him in a joking manner. For the next few hours we talked about the tour, and we even convinced Ryan to take out his guitar and play for us. Towards the end of our discussion I could feel my eyes becoming slightly misty.
“Guys I’ll be right back,” I said as I went into the other room. ‘This isn’t good,’ I thought to myself, ‘first day back, and it’s not even the first full day back, and I’m already missing the states, and everyone else. I do have Ryan, my brother, and best girl friend in the other room, but for some reason the craic isn’t the same. I mean with the guys everything was always funny. Paul would always make some remark that would cause all of us to start laughing hysterically. And Damian would always say just the right thing to make us smile, especially if one of us were upset. Then Keith would always break out into song, and he really enjoyed helping Paul with the jokes. George was always right there if you needed to talk or a hug.’
“Jenny? Are you ok?” Ryan said as he came into the same room and sat next to me. I sighed. “I’ll be fine Ryan, eventually. I just don’t feel right not being with everyone. But we’ll see them soon. Right?”
“Of course Jenny. Come on, you should take Alanna back to your place. You’re welcome back over here tomorrow obviously.” He said as he held out his hand to help me up.
“You’re right Ryan. I’m probably just really tired. But I do know that I’ll be up for a few more hours talking to Alanna.” I replied with a smile and took his hand.
“Try to get some rest, ok? I’ll see you tomorrow, don’t you worry about that. Not to mention you’re brother is staying here tonight.” As soon as he said that I rolled my eyes, knowing that they would be doing some strange guy thing to who knows when tonight. “Alanna, take her back to her apartment. I’ll see you both tomorrow around 2 for lunch/dinner/whatever you want to call it at Eric’s. Good night.” He said as he hugged Alanna. Then he came to hug me, “Night night, God bless,” He whispered in my ear as he gave me a hug. I smiled as soon as he said that.
“Thanks Ryan, Good night to both of you.” We said as we walked out to Alanna’s car.
We spent the ride back to my house in silence, enjoying the music that was playing. As soon as we got back into my house I smiled. “Home sweet home,” I sighed. It truly does feel great to be home once more. I brought my bags into my room and saw that there were notes all over my bed.
“Alanna? What are these from?”
“Those? Open one and find out,” she said with a smirk on her face. Those smirks never mean good things…
I looked down and picked up one of the closest notes. I opened it and was surprised to see Keith’s handwriting. Giving a confused look I began to read it,
‘Hey Jen! Hope things are well with you (considering I don’t know when you’ll be reading this). Can’t wait to see you again, and like I’ve been telling you, I want to teach you to surf! Call or text me whenever you want to. Keith.’
“Alanna, how…what… how did you do this and how can I ever thank you?”
“Well Jen, I knew you’d miss them all so I decided to ask Ryan to have all the guys write a few notes for you. Ryan gave them all to me today and I managed to get them here before you noticed. If you can figure out the handwriting thing, they each wrote one for the next two weeks.”
“Wow Alanna, thanks so much, I’m speechless,” I told her, unable to believe all that was before my eyes.
“So not that you’ve seen that shock, care to tell me all that happened on tour guy wise?” She said with a grin on her face.
“I don’t even know where to start…” I told her as I went to put my iPod on shuffle. Sitting down, I began, “Well obviously I knew the guys beforehand, which was helpful. I guess I’ll start at the beginning and give you a brief rundown of the stuff I haven’t told you already. So the plane ride over was interesting, we more or less slept then. But then when we got to the States we did a lot of sightseeing when we weren’t practicing or having a gig. And my gosh everything was gorgeous…” I gave her a rundown of what happened on the tour, not including the guy portion, because I honestly don’t know where I stand with people right now…
“That sounds like it must have been amazing Jenny! Now it may be two in the morning… but you haven’t answered my questions about guys. Spill everything.”
“Alanna, I don’t know where to start. Well I’ll give you these two first I guess. George was a lot like a father figure the whole tour, which was great. And Damian, he’s just so funny. We had a lot of fun treating him like our little brother…”
“So what about Paul, Keith, and Ryan then? I know you and Ryan had a thing at one point previously…” The thing she was discussing never existed. Apparently he liked me and I liked him at one point in time, but nothing ever came out of it.
“What about them?” I said and received a glare in return. “Oh fine… I honestly don’t know. Ryan and I have been friends forever, and as you know I used to have the biggest crush on him, so I can’t say that that is gone right now… And Paul is so hilarious. He can make anything funny, and is always fun to be around, not to mention that his voice is amazing. Keith is great too, he has that surfer look about him, and he is so wonderfully nice. Alanna, they’re all my friends! I can’t choose between friends!”
“But what about looks wise? You haven’t mentioned that yet tonight…”
“Well I love how Ryan always has a mysterious look about him, and Paul is just so swanky that it’s great. Keith is so handsome that it would make any girl go mad… So really, there is not one that I like better than the other. Ok?”
“Fine… But what was up with that present you mentioned earlier?”
“What present?” I asked innocently.
“Spill girl.”
“Oh fine… Basically it’s just a longing that I’ve been having… I want to go to the States and live there for a few months. And I also really want someone that I can share that with. You can’t tell anyone this, ok?”
“Wow Jen. I can understand where you’re coming from with that. If I can help I will,” she said with a mischievous grin.
“Alanna I’m tired. I need to go to bed.”
“Ok… Have sweet dreams about the guys!” I grimaced and gave her a nasty look as I walked towards my bathroom to get ready for bed. When I was finally alone I took out my phone to see messages from Paul and Keith. Paul’s said-‘Hey! Hope you got the messages! It took awhile to write, but I must say they were fun to! Can’t wait to see you again and I hope you’re settling in back at home well! Call me!’ Hearing that made me smile. It was great knowing that I had great guy friends that I could always count on. Next was to listen to Keith’s message. ‘Hey girl! Miss you already… things aren’t the same. But know what? I’m going to visit you this weekend! Why? Because I can.’ He says and starts laughing. ‘Now I’m sure you’re finding this message hysterical, but oh well. Oh and did you get the notes? Hope you enjoyed them… Well I have to get going, call me back! And I will make you learn to surf very soon! I’ll swing by this weekend, see you then!’ Why are the guys I shouldn’t have always the sweetest? Ryan was the same earlier when I saw him… This just isn’t fair. Oh well, I’ll just go to bed and wait for tomorrow to come, because I’ll at least get to see Ryan again.
I woke up to sunlight streaming in my eyes. I glanced at the clock and saw that it said eleven o’clock. ‘Did I really sleep in that late?’ I thought to myself. Normally I was up around 8 when I was home, but I guess today was excusable because it was our day off. ‘Wait, it’s not a day off, I’m home for a while. This is really strange…’ I got up and began to get ready for the day. I walked into my kitchen and opened the door to the refrigerator. ‘Guess I don’t need to go shopping…’ I thought when I saw my fridge stockpiled with food. Grabbing the milk I went to the counter to get some cereal. I saw a note from Alanna laying on the counter.
‘Hey Jen! I got all your food for you so now you don’t need to worry about it. I had to head home, but I’ll see you later today at Eric’s. Thanks for letting me stay over last night, and I’ll tell you that my mind is starting to see a plan!’
“Great… This is why I shouldn’t tell her these things. Oh well, we’ll see what happens.” Turning on the TV I began to eat my breakfast as I thought back to every morning I spent with the guys recently. “Wait…” I said to myself. “Why am I so depressed? Things are going to go back to how they used to be, but I’ll still be able to see the guys! I’m overthinking everything right now and I really have to stop…” Suddenly my phone rang.
“Hello?” I said as I answered the phone.
“Hey you!! What’s up?”
“Damian! Not that much you? And what are you doing up before noon?”
“Well first of all it’s 1:30 so I’m not up before noon, and I wanted to say hi!”
“It’s 1:30? Have I been up for that long already? And shoot! I have to go to my brother’s shortly!!”
“Good thing I called then right?” He said with a laugh. “I’ll let you go, call me tonight if you want.”
“Will do Damian, thanks for calling, it was great talking to you!” We said good-bye and I got off the phone and began scrambling around the house getting ready to go. Quickly I put on a little make-up and got dressed in one of my more casual outfits, jeans and a green short-sleeved shirt. Grabbing my keys I ran out of my house, locking the door (thankfully) and getting in my car. I looked at the time and it said 2:00. ‘Well Eric should be used to this by now… I’m always late going to his house.’ When I arrived at his house it didn’t seem like anyone was home. I walked up to his door and knocked lightly. After a few minutes of hearing nothing in the house I found the key to get into his house and opened up the door. Seeing no lights on anywhere I headed for the kitchen.
“Surprise!” Yelled my family, Ryan, Alanna, Keith, and Paul. I stopped dead in my tracks and began mouthing words that made no sense to anyone. Paul and Keith quickly came up to me and gave me a hug.
“I can’t believe that you guys managed to do all of this for us,” I said in shock. Suddenly I felt my cheek getting damp.
“Jenny are you alright?” Paul asked.
“Yeah, I’m fine. Trust me, these are tears of happiness. I didn’t think I’d get to see you guys this soon after tour was over,” I said through a huge grin.
“At first I didn’t think so either, but then Ryan told me about this plan for the party so Keith and I figured that we’d come. We actually showed up late last night, but no reason for you to know that,” he said with a wink.
“So that’s why my brother stayed over last night… Emily!!” I yelled as my brother’s fiancée walked into the room. “How have you been?” Emily and I sat talking for a few minutes as I watched everyone interact around the room. Ryan, Keith, and Paul were entertaining Eric and Alanna while my parents were talking to Ryan’s parents. It honestly felt great to be home and be around the best of friends that a girl could ask for.
“So what’s up between you and Paul?” Emily asked me as I groaned.
“Not you too… Nothing’s up between me and Paul, or me and Keith, or me and Ryan… Alanna was pestering me about that all last night.”
“That figures. You guys just seem really close that’s all.”
“I did just spend the entire tour with them…” I said with a laugh and she began laughing too.
“Hey Jen, you have a minute?”
“Sure Keith, what’s up?”
“I had something that I wanted to ask you. Care to join me?”
“Course! Emily, I’ll be back soon,” I told her as she raised her eyebrows at me and I just glared at her.
“So what did you think of the tour?” he asked after we were outside.
“It was amazing, I’m so sad that’s it’s over. What about you?”
“Same,” he said with a sigh as we continued to walk around the house in silence.
“So Keith,” I said after a few minutes, “Didn’t you want to ask me something?”
“Oh yeah…” he said and paused. “I wanted to bring you out here to enjoy the sunshine!” He said with a smirk. I just smiled and continued walking because I had a strange feeling that what he had wanted to say was nothing along the lines of that. “Jen, duck!” He yelled suddenly and I turned towards him only to get hit with a stream of water.
“What’s going on?” I yelled only to see Ryan and Paul with a hose and them laughing. “Oh you guys did not just do that…” I ran towards them, getting wetter in the process, but reached them and turned the hose on them. “Now get a taste of your own medicine!” I began spraying them with the hose and enjoyed watching them run around the yard trying to get away from me. Hearing laughter coming from behind me, I glanced over my shoulder to see Keith just standing there laughing. “So Keith, are you enjoying being dry right now?” I said as I turned towards him, spraying him with the hose also.
“Aw man Jenny! I was hoping to stay dry…”
“Well talk to Paul and Ryan they started it!” I said with a laugh. The water fight continued until the four of us were soaking wet. To be kind to Eric we just politely asked him to get us a change of clothes and towels so we would not get his house extremely wet. Glancing at my three friends, I couldn’t help but smile. After we were changed and dried off, Paul said he had to get going. “Aw, Paul really?” I said with a sad look on my face.
“Sorry guys, my family want me home for tomorrow. I will see you all soon though! Call me if you guys want to head out to a pub or something soon. Bye!” He said with a wink and walked out to his car.
After Paul left the rest of us sat around Eric’s house for a while catching up.
Eventually we convinced Ryan and Keith to sing for us both, and they had me pull out my instruments and play too. After awhile everyone needed to go home. Walking out of the door Ryan said, “Keith, Jen, you guys want to head to the pub?”
“Why not!” Keith said, “Jen, you game?”
“Sure, you guys will probably need a driver anyways… let’s go.” I said with a smirk. Heading to the pub was great, I drove over there blasting our music. We were joking with each other the whole ride there and it was exactly like the times on tour. When we got there we each ordered our drinks and sat talking.
After having a few drinks, Ryan said, “Guys I’m going to head over there,” he said, pointing to a group of girls. Then to Keith he said, “Wish me luck!” I just rolled my eyes as he left us to join the group of girls.
“Keith, he’s such a heartbreaker! I can’t even tell you how many girlfriends he’s had!” I said as soon as he left. “Sure he’s one of my friends and all, but I hate how he always does this.”
“Jen it’s ok, don’t worry about it.” Keith said and gave me a squeeze on the shoulder. After watching Ryan with these girls and listening to Keith (don’t get me wrong, it’s quite amusing), I was ready to head home. It was almost midnight and I was getting tired. In the background as I was heading over I could hear music softly. “They say that I’m a bad boy, that I just can’t help myself. That even though I know I should, I’m just too bad to be good. They call me a romancer, a chancer, a Gigolo, who’ll always have an alibi, who kiss the girls and make them cry…” “Ryan, it’s time to go…” I said when I reached him.
Standing up, Ryan sang, “I never meant to hurt you! I never meant to break you’re heart in two! I’m sorry if I hurt you, I’m sorry, but it’s what I seem to do… They call me a heartbreaker, nothing but a heartbreaker.” As he sang this, I stalked off back to Keith shaking my head in annoyance. As Keith and I were discussing how annoying this was, we could still hear him singing, even though I did not want to look back towards him. “They say I’m the dark destroyer, that I just can’t get enough, of girls hanging on a string, that I’m only after one thing! That I’m filled with desire, a liar, a Romeo, like a bee in a honeycomb, Welcome to the Pleasure Dome!”
“Keith I’m going to go try to get him to go again… wish me luck this time!” I said and headed back over towards where Ryan was.
“Jen! I never meant to hurt you, I never meant to break your heart in two…”
“Sure Ryan, and how did you break my heart in two? There was never anything more than friends between us…”
“I’m sorry if I hurt you, I’m sorry, but it’s what I seem to do…”
“Whatever Ryan…” I said and stalked off again to get another drink.
“They call me a heartbreaker, nothing but a heartbreaker.”
“Keith, I give up… You can try to get him to leave, or I’m leaving and taking you home…” From the corner we could still hear, “I just can’t live without it, the thrill of a woman’s touch, it’s written in the stars above, I’m just addicted to love! But they all want to tame me, to chain me and tie me down, don’t they know I was born to be, foot-loose and fancy-free…” Finally I was able to talk sense into Keith who walked over towards where Ryan was sitting.
“Dude, Jen’s going to leave without you if you don’t come now. And I’m guessing you’d rather not spend tonight here?”
“Fine Keith… good night ladies!” Ryan said with a wink and got up to join Keith and I. As soon as he reached me he began once more, “I never meant to hurt you, I never meant to break your heart in two, I’m sorry if I hurt you, I’m sorry! But it’s what I seem to do… They call me a heartbreaker, nothing! But a heartbreaker…”
“Ok Ryan… whatever you say.” We got into my car and I drove Keith and Ryan back to Ryan’s house. “Keith, take care of him tonight, and thank you for tonight,” I said to him with a smile. “I’ll see you tomorrow. Night Keith…”
“Jen! I truly am sorry. Please forgive me!” Ryan said to me in a pleading manner.
“Ryan you don’t know what you’re saying… Good night Ryan,” I said and drove to my home, not knowing what tomorrow would bring.

The next morning I awoke to a voicemail from Ryan apologizing for last night. I was shocked that he already called, but as I turned to look at my clock I noticed that it was 1 PM. ‘Wow,’ I thought to myself, ‘I’m really on a roll regarding sleeping in later than normal.’ I got out of bed and listened to his voicemail.
“Hey Jenny! I’m really sorry for the way I acted last night… I hope you’ll be able to forgive me, and trust me I realize now what I was doing. Call me later if you can, please? Thanks Jen, and again I’m really sorry!” So this message was basically the same as what he said last night… Oh shoot! I forgot to call Damian back… I grabbed my phone and dialed his number.
“Hey Damian! Are you busy? And sorry about not calling back yesterday…” I said in a rush.
“Whoa Jen calm down. I’m not busy, and don’t worry about it. Keith texted me and told me what happened. Relax Jen.”
“Oh so he told you all about Ryan then?” I said with a slightly upset and annoyed tone.
“Yes he did. And I think you should hear Ryan out on this at some point… Keith seemed really upset too when I talked to him. If you aren’t calling Ryan tonight, at least try to call Keith.”
“Thanks Damian, and I love how you’re giving me advice and I’m the one that’s older than you!” I said with a laugh.
“Just returning the favor. You’ve given me so much advice it feels great to be able to help you out.”
“Damian I can’t tell you how much you’ve helped me out! Don’t think anything of it! You’re my favorite brother, like I’ve been saying.”
“Thanks Jen. Aw darn, I have to get going… my parents want me downstairs and I think we’re going out later… Thanks for calling! I’ll talk to you later!”
“Bye Damian! Thanks for the help!” We hung up, leaving me feeling very confused. Sure I wanted to forgive Ryan, but considering he’s done this to me a lot it’s getting very old. I don’t know what to do at all… I sighed in confusion. I decided to just hang around the house today and get things done that needed to be done. After cleaning the house the phone began to ring. I decided that I would screen my calls for the day because I wasn’t sure if I was up to talking to Ryan yet or not. “Hey Jen, I don’t know if you’re there or not… but I’d like to talk to you right now, so give me a call when you get this,” Keith’s voice came from my answering machine, running to the phone I answered it.
“Hey Keith!”
“Oh! Jen, you’re there. I was just about to hang up…”
“Yeah I am… I was screening the calls for a little while. What’s up?”
“Well I’m back home now, and I wanted to tell you that Ryan is miserable. He does feel really bad about what happened last night.”
“Thanks for telling me Keith, but I just don’t know if I can talk to him today. Maybe tomorrow I’ll call him. How are you though?”
“Me? Fine. Just hanging out with the family, going to work on my music in a little. What about you?”
“Well I’ve already cleaned the house today, so I think I was just going to hang out and watch some movies and practice. It seems like it’s going to be a long day.”
“I agree with ya there…”
“I should let you go, we both need to practice and all.”
“Yeah Jen… Glad you’re doing ok, call me if you want to talk.”
“Of course Keith, thank you so much. Talk to you later!” After I hung up the phone I slumped against the wall. I had no clue what was the matter with me.
The next few weeks went by fairly quickly. After a few days I did end up talking to Ryan, and things are ok between us right now. I spent a lot of time with Ryan, Eric and Alanna during those weeks. It was great to be able to catch up with them and do what we did before tour. Alanna still seems to be thinking up a plan for me, but she is refusing to let me know what any of it may be. I also spent a lot of time on the computer talking to the guys and also talking to them through texting and phone calls. Overall it was a wonderful few weeks, especially after Ryan and I reconciled. Three weeks after that night, I received a call from Keith saying that he was going to be in town for a few days and he wanted to know if we could hang out.
“Sure Keith! You want to come over on Saturday and we can figure out what to do?”
“Course! I can be there around 1 if that sounds ok with you.”
“Perfect, I’ll get our lunch together and we can decide over lunch.” Since it was the beginning of the week I still had a ways to go until Keith would get here, but I knew that it would be a lot of fun. When Alanna found out that Keith would be coming this coming weekend she would not stop discussing that fact. I couldn’t believe how excited she was when she wasn’t even going to be seeing him.
That week passed so slowly, I did everything around the house that needed to be done before Keith arrived. Friday night I decided that everything was ready, I had lunch planned for tomorrow, and there was nothing left to do so I decided to treat myself to a movie. I decided to watch one of my favorites, The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. I made popcorn and got a drink and settled down to watch it. Just as the menu screen came up my phone began ringing.
“Hello?” I said as I answered my phone.
“Hey Jen! Are you busy?”
“Hey Ryan, not at all. What’s up?”
“I wanted to know if you wanted to hang out tonight…”
“Only if you come over here and watch a movie with me!”
“Sure why not? I’ll be over in 20 minutes.”
“Sounds great, see you then!” I said as I hung up. So now I had to figure out what to do until he got here. Grabbing a book I settled on my couch and began to read. The book was so enthralling that I jumped when I heard the doorbell ring.
“Hey Ryan!” I said as I answered the door. “Do you want any popcorn? And what can I get you to drink?”
“Sure popcorn sounds great, and I’ll have whatever you’re having.” I went into the kitchen to get more popcorn and grabbed another soda for him. When I got back to the living room I saw that he had taken my seat, but I didn’t bother him about it and just sat next to him. I began the movie that we both enjoyed. The night passed quickly as we watched the movie. We spent most of the evening in silence, but it was great to be able to share a night with him again, just like we used to. After close to four hours, the movie ended, and it still made me cry.
“Jen, you ok?” Ryan asked when he saw the tear on my face.
“Ryan I’m fine, the ending is just so sad. But it still is one of the best movies around,” I said with a smile.
“Oh Jen… what am I going to do with you?” He said with a smile on his face. I’d missed the bantering that we would always have when we were all together. “Any ideas on when rehearsals start again?”
I laughed, “No, not at all… We’ll find out eventually.”
“Very true.” The next hour we spent in friendly conversation and banter. Glancing at my clock I realized it was after midnight. “Um, Ryan? Didn’t you have to get up early tomorrow?” I asked him, remembering that he said he had to go to his parent’s house for breakfast in the morning.
“You’re right… I wish I didn’t have to, but I really should head out. Thanks for having me over.”
“Anytime Ryan, thank you for coming!” I said as I gave him a hug and walked him to the door.
“Have a good time with Keith tomorrow, I’ll talk to you soon,” he said with a grin and walked out the door, waving as he left. It was great having been able to spend the night with him because we have not had a night like that in awhile. I locked the door after he left and got ready for bed. I fell asleep thinking about what tomorrow would be like and how much fun Keith and I would have.
*Beep Beep Beep*
“Wha…?” I said as I heard an alarm going off. Wondering what it was I glanced at my clock to see the time. It was 9 in the morning and then I realized that I had set my alarm clock to go off. I hit the snooze button and tried to fall back asleep. All of a sudden I realized that I would be seeing Keith that day and that I needed to get up in order to make lunch.
Getting up I checked my phone only to find a message from Keith saying that he was on the way to my house. Today was going to be a great day, allowing Keith and I to catch up on the past few weeks. I set about getting our lunch together, knowing that Keith loved steak I set out to make them. The next few hours flew by because I was making food and singing to the music I had on. Before I knew it, it was 1 o’clock. All of a sudden I heard a knock on my door.
“Keith!” I yelled when I opened the door. He threw his arms around me and I gladly returned the hug.
“Hi Jenny! I’ve missed you.”
“Come on in, I made your favorite for lunch,” I said with a smile. I saw his eyes open wide in anticipation as he grinned. I led him inside of my house and he sat down at the table, ready to eat. “So how hungry are you anyways?”
“Extremely! I haven’t eaten since early this morning, any food would be grand.”
“Anything?” I said and grabbed a plate with fruit on it, “Here you go then!” I said with a smirk as I saw his mouth drop. “I’m kidding Keith. You take things about food way to seriously!” I walked over to the counter and picked up the steaks that were fresh off of the grill. “How’s this?”
“Jen, you know me way too well! Thank you so much!” He said as we ate our steaks and began catching up about everything. We were about halfway through our meal and Keith brought up the subject of what we were going to do during the day. “So Jen, can I take you out to surf today?” He said with a grin.
“Well… I’m not sure. It’s kind of cool out…”
“You worry too much! I checked the forecast and the waves seem like they will be amazing today! C’mon, please come with me?” He said as he gave me a puppy dog face.
“Aw man Keith! Fine, you know that I can’t resist that face… Let’s go.”
“I knew you’d say yes! I already got everything for you and it’s in my car! If you want grab a guitar, towel, and your bathing suit and let’s hit the waves!!!” I just laughed at him as he said this because I could not believe how excited he was that he could finally teach me to surf. He has been trying to get me out there since we first met. I cleaned up the dishes from our meal and put everything away to Keith pestering me to hurry up. I grabbed all my stuff and he dragged me out to the car.
“Geez Keith, I cannot believe how excited you are about this!” I said as he dragged me to his car and threw my stuff in the back.
“You’re the first one I get to teach! Of course I’m excited! Come on let’s go!!”
The drive was spent with me worrying about how this was going to go. I felt like I would fail at surfing because it seemed that whenever I tried something that I couldn’t already do I became extremely clumsy. At one point I was convinced to try skiing and I’m not even going to start describing how badly that ended up. Keith kept trying to reassure me that I would do fine and that there was nothing to worry about, but I did not believe him. Before I knew it we were at the beach.
“Keith, everything looks so beautiful,” I said in wonder at the beauty of the ocean and sky. Breathing in the wonderful sea air I sighed in delight. I had not been to the beach for a while, and being back was such a wonderful experience. We picked out a spot on the beach where it was not crowded. Surprisingly there was no one there that day so we did not have much difficulty finding somewhere to stay for the afternoon. Keith quickly suited up, and showed me what to do. He began to teach me, and surprisingly I did quite well!
“Jen, you’re a natural at this! Are you sure you’ve never gone surfing before?”
“Thanks,” I said with a slight blush. “And no I’ve never gone before, trust me on that.”
“I do trust you on that…” He said with a grin. “You ready to take a break for a little?”
“That sounds good to me, I am starting to get a bit tired.” We went back to our little setup on the beach and I collapsed on the ground. Keith looked down at me and cocked his head to the side, “Did I really tire ya out that much Jen?” He asked in confusion.
“Well, I was up late last night, and this does take a lot out of you the first time you go surfing… so it’s not your fault Keith.” I said with a smile as he sat down next to me. He picked up his guitar and started playing around with it, playing different tunes that I hadn’t heard before. “Did you write all of those?” I asked him.
“Yeah, these are the ones that I’ve been working on since tour got over,” He said as he continued to play and I left him in silence. He began to play The Mountains of Mourne which I did know, so I began to harmonize with him. The song ended much quicker than I would have expected and he turned to look at me.
“Jenny, I didn’t know you could sing that well, you truly were amazing,” he said in shock. “Why don’t you do backup singing for the show?”
“Because I’m already doing so much in it, I want to leave spots for other people who want to do it,” I replied. We sat in silence for a little while longer and Keith suddenly began to sing again.
“Gonna take a little time, a little time to think things over. I better read between the lines, in case I need it when I’m older.” He began to sing while looking straight at me.
“Now this mountain I must climb, feels like a world upon my shoulders. Through the clouds I see love shine, it keeps me warm as life grows colder.” He stood up and reached for my hand.
“In my life there’s been heartache and pain, I don’t know if I can face it again. Can’t stop now, I’ve travelled so far, to change this lonely life.” I accepted his hand and stood up with him. He began to walk down the beach as I followed him.
“I wanna know what love is, and I want you to show me! I wanna feel what love is, and I know you can show me.” We continued walking along the beach hand in hand as I occasionally would add in some harmonies with his melody.
“I’m gonna take a little time, a little time to look around me. ‘Cos I’ve got nowhere left to hide, it looks like love has finally found me.” He sang and glanced toward me, although I did not notice his gaze.
“In my life, there’s been heartache and pain, I don’t know if I can face it again. Can’t stop now, I’ve traveled so far, to change this lonely life. I wanna know what love is, and I want you to show me! I wanna feel what love is, and I know you can show me!” He continued to sing as we walked. I glanced at him and noticed that he was leading us towards the water, not just next to it. We arrived at the ocean and I dropped his hand only to run into the water. He began to chase me, while still singing, “I wanna know what love is, and I want you to show me! I wanna feel what love is, and I know you can show me! Wanna know what love is!” As soon as he finished singing he tackled me into the water as he gave me a hug.
“Keith that sounded wonderful!” I said from underneath his tackle. “Care to sing more for me?” I asked him, thinking it would get him off of me.
“Maybe at some point in the future if that works for you,” he said with a grin.
“Sounds good to me, and I hate to say this, but I’m getting cold…” He gave me a look saying I’m sorry and he helped me up. “Thanks Keith.” I said and headed back to the blanket. He sighed and walked up behind me only to sit next to me by the blanket. He laid down next to me and I put my head on him. I felt that something was wrong, but I didn’t know what it was and felt that I should not ask him. The problem was that I did not know he sang that song for me, and he felt really bad that I didn’t realize it.
I opened my eyes and saw darkness. Glancing towards the sky I could see stars and the moon and suddenly became very confused. Reaching for my phone I checked the time. “9:30?!” Keith and I must have fallen asleep after we got out of the water earlier. I feel that the last thing that I remember was that it was around 6 o’clock and we were considering getting dinner, I guess that plan is completely out the window. Turning over I began to shake Keith lightly to try and wake him up. “Keith, come on wake up… it’s a good thing you don’t need to be home tonight…”
“What? Jen? What’s going on? Where’s the fire?” Keith mumbled when he finally woke up.
“Fire Keith?” I said through a laugh, “There’s no fire, but we fell asleep earlier, I’m hungry, and it’s 9:30.”
“9:30? Really? I don’t really remember anything that happened,” he said as he rubbed his eyes. “You want to hit the waves one last time before we head home?”
“In the dark?” I asked him with a confused expression on my face.
“Yes, in the dark. C’mon!” He said as he grabbed my hand and dragged me towards the surfboards. We suited up for one last time tonight and boy, surfing at night is a lot of fun. After we were done we packed up and headed back to his car. After driving for a few minutes I said, “Keith…”
“Yeah Jen?”
“I’m hungry…”
“Me too, where do you want to stop?”
“I don’t care Keith! You pick… please?”
“Fine, I’ll surprise you then,” he said with a smirk. We continued to drive for a while and we began to sing as we were driving. All of a sudden I began to get sleepy again, even though I was starving. All of a sudden I drifted off to sleep with Keith’s sweet voice in my head.
“Jen, wake up.” I head Keith’s voice through the fog of my brain. I slowly opened my eyes to darkness as Keith said with a laugh, “So did you want to eat?” At the sound of food I perked up and shoved Keith out of the way. He had brought me to a fancy restaurant and we spent some time there enjoying each other’s company. Before I knew it the meal was done and he was dropping me off at my house.
“Good night Jen, I had a great time with you today.”
“I did too Keith, thank you,” I said with a smile. He gave me a hug and left to go to his car. He turned to give me a wave as he continued to his car. He left to go to Ryan’s house for the night as I turned into my house and got ready for bed.
The night passed quickly, as did the next week. Keith, Ryan and I were able to hang out a few times before Keith had to head home. Alanna joined us a few times too, but not nearly as much as the three of us saw each other.
Two weeks later I was on my computer checking my email to see if there was anything from Sharon. Upon opening my email I saw a bunch of emails from all of the lads. “Oh dear,” I thought to myself, “what have they gotten themselves into now?” Opening the emails I saw that they were all birthday wishes, I lost track of time and forgot that my birthday was in three days!
Three days flew by so quickly. I woke up that morning to a bunch of balloons in my face. Moving the balloons out of my way, I quickly got dressed and threw my hair up into a messy bun. Rubbing my eyes I headed out of my room wondering who could have put all the balloons into my room.
“Happy Birthday Jen!!” Was shouted at me as I came into the kitchen by Ryan, Paul, Keith, Damian, George, Sharon, Alanna, and Eric. I was engulfed in a giant hug from all sides.
“Thanks guys!” I mumbled. “Only problem is that I can’t breathe…” They all quickly got off of me and said sorry over and over. “Guys, don’t worry about it, please,” I said to them.
“So first off,” said Damian.
“We have breakfast for you!” shouted Keith.
“I’m guessing you’ll like it,” Ryan said.
“And if you don’t, we’ll make it so you do!” Paul yelled through a wide grin. George glanced at Sharon and said, “Don’t listen to them Jen, Sharon made the breakfast so you have nothing to worry about.” I laughed because it was true. I was slightly worried that the lads had taken over the kitchen and I had no idea how that experience would have turned out.
I ate my breakfast while listening to the many conversations going on around me. Eric and Alanna were talking next to me, Sharon and George were talking, and Paul, Ryan, and Damian were all arguing about sports, while Keith was watching them with an amused expression on his face with his chin in his hands. I glanced at Keith and he just shook his head and rolled his eyes at me.
“Florida Gators are amazing!” I mumbled because they were my favorite football team. The other guys continued arguing about whatever it was that they began arguing about and ignored me completely. I sighed and just started laughing. Keith gave me a bemused expression making me laugh even harder as Keith joined me in laughing. The others heard us and glanced over at us wondering what was going on, seeing us just sitting there laughing our heads off they began laughing too, but directed at us. Soon everyone was laughing and I was in tears before I knew it. Paul glanced at me and saw my tears, “Jen? Are you ok?” Paul asked me with concern in his voice.
Through a laugh I said, “Yeah, I’m just laughing way to hard.”
“Wait…” Damian began, “Why are we laughing anyways?”
“I don’t even know…” replied Keith causing us to laugh even more.
About 10 minutes later, we all managed to finally calm down. We decided we would go out for a walk because it was actually a sunny day outside.
“My gosh Jen, you are so lucky!” said Ryan. “It’s your birthday and it’s sunny out! Two things that are extremely hard to come by here!”
“Too true Ryan! Today has been such a good day so far. Thank you all for spending it with me,” I said through a smile as we walked to the park that was near my house.
Arriving at the park took much longer than usual with our huge group of people. I’m sure we were a sight to see because every few minutes Damian would stop and pick up a stick, or Keith would catch a glimpse of some sort of body of water. Paul kept making crazy jokes causing us to laugh constantly, and Ryan would help Paul with his jokes. All in all, I have never been on a crazier walk, though our time spent in the US could give it a run for its money. When we arrived I sat on the fountain in the middle of the park, and just decided to watch the lads antics. I couldn’t believe how lucky I was that my brother had been best friends with Ryan, who got chosen to be in this fabulous group, and that I managed to become their woodwind player and make the best friends in the world. I felt like the luckiest girl in the world. Alanna joined me on the fountain watching them all behave like boys.
“So Jen, how has the day been so far?” she asked me through a laugh.
“So far? What’s that supposed to mean?”
“That the day is very young!” She replied with an evil smirk on her face.
“Oh no, don’t tell me you’re still working on your plan?”
“Fine I won’t tell you.”
“Shoot… I don’t like the sounds of this, at all.”
“Hey Jen and Alanna! Do you want to join us for a game of football?” Ryan shouted from across the lawn. I glanced at Alanna who nodded her head.
“Sure, why not?” I replied with a shrug of my shoulders as we got up to join them. The game went fairly well, my team ended up winning. Not sure if that was because it was my birthday or not though… Oh well, it made me a very happy person, along with Ryan and Damian. For some strange reason, every time Alanna had the chance, she would shove me into Keith or Paul. Now I need to figure out why that was… maybe it is a part of her crazy plan? Oh dear, I think I will be scared of what will happen with this. After the game, it was starting to get late and Sharon, Damian, George, and Keith all had to fly out. They said they had a surprise for me back at my house. We headed back to my house in the same fashion as on the way to the park. I couldn’t believe how crazy my friends were, but I loved them anyways.
“Now Jen, you stay out here while we get everything ready,” Sharon said as she walked into my house.
“Ok…” I said with a confused look, wondering what else could be done now. I sat talking with the lads until Sharon was ready. She called us into the house and as soon as I walked in they all started singing happy birthday to me.
“Oh guys… thanks! You all sound wonderful on it too!” I said with a smile. They truly did sound amazing, their voices always blended so well together. The cake that they got me was beautiful. It was chocolate flavored and had flowers all over it. We served the cake and it was delicious. They quickly brought out birthday cards and each was so sweet. I couldn’t believe how thoughtful they all were. I received a few small presents from the guys, mostly things they bought on tour that had to do with music, since they knew it was my life.
“Jenny, we all decided that we would pitch in to buy you something together. We really hope that you like it,” Damian said as he was holding a box.
“How can I not like something that you guys get me?”
“I don’t know Jen. Is it because we’re awesome like that?” Paul said in a very swanky manner.
“Exactly Paul.” I replied with a nod of my head and a roll of my eyes.
“Jen open the box!” Ryan told me, as the others agreed with him. I was very confused because it was a large box with… holes in the top? They didn’t now, did they? I quickly opened the box and to my surprise, there was a little Bassett Hound puppy in the box!
“Oh, my, gosh… I don’t even know what to say! This reminds me of my old dog too… I can’t thank you enough!!!!” I jumped up to give everyone a hug, and then returned to my puppy.
“Now you need a name Jen!” Eric said to me. “And you’re right… it does remind me of our old dog…”
“Hmm… what to name him…” I trailed off while thinking. All of a sudden many suggestions were being hurled at me and I couldn’t even think straight. “Whoa guys, calm down. I already thought of one… How about Ceol?”
“Aw, that’s really cute! I really like it and it fits you. And by the way, all the stuff for Ceol is out in your garage…” Paul told me as my eyes widened in shock. I ran to the garage door with Ceol on my heels and glanced outside and saw two dog beds, a crate, food, water, toys, and just about everything imaginable.
“Guys, I cannot thank you enough…” I said as I went around and gave them all hugs again.
“You think that’s all Jen?” My brother told me. “Well then you’re wrong…” He said as he gave an evil grin. He brought out another present that was smaller.
“Guys, you really didn’t have to do this…” I told them, as they all told me that they wanted to. I unwrapped the wrapping paper only to find a flute case. I gave a confused look and opened the case, only to see one of the nicest flutes ever put on the market! It was sterling silver and was gorgeous! My jaw quickly dropped to the floor and I couldn’t say anything. I tried, but only a squeak came out, causing everyone to laugh at me.
“Any words Jen?” Eric asked.
I squeaked again in response. I couldn’t believe them! A puppy and a really amazing flute for the same birthday? This was insanity. I felt really bad knowing how expensive this must have been, but knowing that if I said anything they would say not to worry about it. Finally I managed a thank you, and went around hugging them all again. It took me about an hour to finally be able to speak coherently again, but oh well. This was seriously the best birthday in my entire life.
Overall, my party was amazing. I could not remember a better birthday. I was able to spend the day with all of my favorite people. By 7 that night just about everyone had to head out. I couldn’t believe how fast the day had flown by. George, Damian, Sharon, and Keith all had to catch flights home that night, but Paul was going to stay here for a few days. Ryan had to head home because he had an early day tomorrow, and Eric and Alanna stayed for a bit longer. Before I knew it, it was just Paul and I left.
“So Jen, what do you say I treat you to a drink tonight? We can go to a pub of your choosing too!” He asked with a grin.
“Sounds good to me! How about we go to the pub downtown?”
“Let’s go! I’ll drive, where are your keys?” He said hurriedly.
“Hold up Paul, I need to get ready first,” I replied, and quickly headed to my room.
“Wow,” thought Paul as I came back out, “she looks beautiful…” “You ready to go now Jenny?” Paul said out loud to me. I really didn’t do much to make myself ready. I put on a little make-up, but not much. I also changed into jeans and a green sweater. I loved that sweater since I had gotten it from Eric last year. It easily was one of my favorite articles of clothing.
“Jen do you have any of our music or Stevie Wonder, or David Bowie, or the Beatles?” Paul asked me as I pulled out a CD.
“How does this sound?” I asked showing him the album artwork of one of the Beatles records. He grinned so I could tell that he liked it. I put it into the CD player as he drove us to the pub.
“So how has your birthday been so far, considering that the night is still young?” Paul asked me.
“Well…” I replied. “It could have been better, if you know what I mean…” I trailed off and glanced over at him just in time to see his face fall from shock. “Just kidding Paul! It’s been the best birthday every! Thank you so much!” I told him with a grin on my face.
“Good. You had me worried there for a bit. I’m so glad we were all able to get here on time. I was worried that the surprise bit wouldn’t work out as well as it did.”
“Yeah, how did you manage that? Especially with Keith?”
“Because I’m amazing like that,” he said with a grin and laugh. “Come on Jen, you know that!”
“Too true Paul, too true,” I said with a smile as we arrived at the pub. Paul quickly stepped out of the car and opened my door for me and helped me out of the car.
“Why thank you, good sir,” I told him as I stepped out of the car, curtsying. Bowing, he replied, “You are very welcome my darling lady.” He held the door for me once more as we entered the pub. We sat down at a table and were very surprised to hear live music playing.
“Well would you look at that Paul? They are playing good music tonight!” I said with a smirk. At our table we ordered our drinks and some dinner. Our food came quickly so we ate quickly. I wanted to dance at some point that night because it seemed like it would be a lot of fun. “Hey Paul! You know what! You should sing something tonight while we’re here…”
“I don’t know… maybe. I’ll see how I feel.” I just shook my head, knowing how much he loves to perform. I couldn’t see him passing this chance.
“I’m going to dance for a bit because I love this song. Feel free to join me!” I said as I walked off to the dance floor, leaving Paul at our table. I began dancing to Ride On because it happened to be playing. As I was dancing I felt eyes on me, but I didn’t know whose eyes they were, so I just continued to dance.
My gosh, Paul thought. She sure is beautiful… How lucky am I to be friends with such an amazing girl like this? And to be able to take her out on her birthday? Lady Luck is with me tonight! Grabbing a piece of paper I began to describe the night to myself, but after starting, I changed my mind and went to throw it away. When I reached the trashcan I changed my mind and stuck it into my pocket. Turning around I headed to the dance floor to join Jen.
“Hey Paul! So you decided to join me?”
“But of course m’lady!” Paul said, as he grabbed my hand and spun me around. I grinned and the song ended.
“Paul, go get the mike and sing a song! Please?” I said with a puppy dog face. He smiled and went to grab the mike. All of a sudden the music to “Nights in White Satin” came on. He came back out to me to dance with me while he was singing. “Nights in white satin, never reaching the end. Letters I’ve written, never meaning to send.” He began to sing as he was dancing with me. I couldn’t believe how lucky I was to be spending the night with him like this.
“Beauty I’d always missed, with these eyes before. Just what the truth is, I can’t say anymore.” Grinning, he gave me the swanky eyebrow raise as he spun me around.
“‘Cause I love you! Yes I love you! Oh how I love you!” He sang as he kneeled on the ground looking at the audience.
“Gazing at people, some hand in hand. Just what I’m going through, they can’t understand. Some try to tell me,” He sang as he looked around at the audience and then back at me. “Thoughts they cannot defend, just what you want to be, you’ll be in the end.” He sang through a smile as he continued to dance with me. The music break came on and I began to do the part that Zara had taught me for the song in the show. I could see Paul’s face a few times as I danced around him. I added a few moves of my own in, and I could tell that he was enjoying it. “And I love you, yes I love you! Oh, how I love you!” He continued to sing as he stared off at me since I had walked off the dance floor. The song ended as he bowed and thanked the audience.
Gazing at the dance floor, I suddenly realized that we were the only two people left on the floor during that time. People had begun to realize who we were and we were being approached for autographs. We signed a few and Paul sang a few more songs since people wanted an encore. I danced for a few of them, but not many since I had not had that much practice. After Paul was done he came over to me,
“You ready to head home Jen?” Glancing at the time I realized how late it actually was.
“Sure Paul,” I said as we headed out to the car. He held the door open for me as I stumbled out.
“Jen! You should have told me you were that tired…”
“What? What do you mean Paul?” I said though a yawn.
“You almost fell out of the door and now you’re yawning.” He put his arm around me to steady me and help me to the car. I leaned into his arm as I yawned again.
“Really? I didn’t even know I was that tired…” I trailed off. “I guess I should get home. Thank you so much for such an amazing night Paul. I haven’t had that much fun in ages,” I grinned as another yawn snuck up on me.
“You’re very welcome Jen. Now let’s get you home and to bed.” He opened the car door for me and put me on the seat. I quickly curled up in a ball on the seat and put my head on the doorframe after he shut the door. He got in and started the car and began to sing to help put me to sleep. I drifted off fairly quickly and that was all I remembered for that night.

The next day I woke up in my bed and had no memories of getting there. I just shook my head and went into my kitchen to grab breakfast. Taking some cereal and milk I went into my living room to watch some TV.
“Paul? What are you doing here?” I asked in confusion as I watched him eating food and laying on my couch.
“Well, I drove you home last night and you fell asleep on me. I brought you up to your apartment, saw what time it was and decided that instead of waking Ryan up to let me in I’d just stay here. I hope you don’t mind…”
“Not at all. I just forgot what happened after I got in the car last night. Sorry about that…”
“Why are you sorry? You were tired and deserved the sleep… So what are you up to doing today?” He asked me. “Park?”
“Hmm… sounds like it would be fun! Then when Ryan gets home we can go hang out with him. And I’d love to go for a drive if you want to…”
“Great idea. So you go get ready, and I’ll be here when you are.” I glanced down at myself only to see the clothes that I had on yesterday. I don’t even know how I managed to become that tired. I finished eating and changed quickly. Seeing Paul on the phone, I decided to spend a little more time on my appearance. As soon as he got off the phone I went into the other room and joined Paul.
“So we’ll head to the park now, and then I’m taking you in your car and surprising you on where we go. Ok Jen?”
“I know I have no say, so whatever you want Paul!” I said as I headed to my door. He followed me and grabbed my car keys before I had a chance to. The five-minute trip to the park passed in no time, and we enjoyed each other’s company for a while. We took Ceol with us to the park, and it was really amusing watching him explore everything. We sat around near the fountain again talking. Suddenly he got up and stretched.
“So Jen, do you want to head out and find out what the surprise is?” He asked me with a smirk on his face.
“I’m not so sure I like the look of that smirk Paul… but sure, why not? We just need to drop Ceol off at Eric’s beforehand.” As soon as I said that he got up and grabbed me by the hand, dragging me to the car. I squeaked as soon as he took my hand because I wasn’t expecting to get dragged anywhere. I should have realized that it was Paul and to expect the unexpected with him. We got into my car and I put on my favorite Beatles album since it was fun to sing to. The two of us belted out the songs for a while as we drove to our destination.
“So can I have any hints on where we are going?” I asked him as soon as I had a chance.
“Hmmm… Let’s see. No.”
“But Paul…”
“No buts Jen. You’ll find out in due time.”
After about twenty minutes of driving we pulled up in front of a movie theater. I glanced at him wondering what was going on, but just followed his lead. We went into the theater and he got two tickets to see Pirates of the Caribbean. I started to grin like a maniac because I loved the first two and could not wait to see the third. We settled down in the theater and the movie began. The movie was amazing, and I could not believe how fast the time flew by. We headed out and drove around for a bit longer. Paul decided that he wanted to see more of Tyrone, so we went sightseeing for about an hour. We had such a wonderful time and then realized that we should head back and see Ryan for a little while.
We arrived at Ryan’s house far sooner than I anticipated. While walking to his front door, I said to Paul, “Thank you so much for yesterday and today. It was a lot of craic and I cannot thank you enough! We’ll have to do it again, and soon!”
“It was my pleasure Jenny. Thank you for going with me. And yes, we will do it again soon, I promise you that.” I smiled and Paul rang Ryan’s doorbell.
“Why are you ringing the bell Paul? I always just walk in and he never seems to care.” I said with a smirk as I opened the door, which was unlocked, like always. I walked into his kitchen and found him with his back to me. I ran to him and threw my arms around him and yelled, “Hi Ryan!!!!”
“Oof! Jen, hi! How are ya? Oh hey Paul!”
“I’m great! How did your recording go this morning?”
“Actually really good!” He said, and in a whisper said, “Much better than Paul’s would have gone.”
“I heard that Ryan… I’m not deaf!”
“Well that surprises me Paul!” Ryan said with a laugh. I just shook my head at the craziness that was being passed back and forth between the two of them.
“Well Ryan, your face!”
“Really now Paul? You couldn’t come up with something better than that?”
Paul glances from side to side, “Yeah I could have come up with something better… but it was funny!”
“Whatever you say Paul…” Ryan said as he grabbed glasses from the cupboard for drinks. “What do you guys want to drink?”
“I don’t care Ryan. You should know that by now,” I told him.
“Yeah Ryan! What she said!” Paul began to joke around once more.
Their bantering continued for what seemed like forever. I just began to tone them out and was wondering what exactly was up with Ryan, Paul, and Keith. Things have been strange between us, and I wasn’t exactly sure why. I quickly texted Alanna, without the guys knowing, saying that I needed to talk to her that night.
“Do you want to head out to the pool?” Ryan asked Paul and I. I shrugged my shoulders and said, “I don’t have anything to wear…”
“Not a problem Jen,” Ryan quickly goes into the other room and tosses me a baggy shirt and shorts. I shrug again and go into the bathroom to change. Glancing at myself I couldn’t believe how big these were on me, but it didn’t matter. I was with two of my closest friends, what was the point?
We headed out to Ryan’s pool and I settled myself into one of the beach chairs that Ryan owned. Paul and Ryan quickly jumped into the pool and tried to convince me to join them. “Maybe in a bit guys, I just need to get warmer before I can get in.” Ryan and Paul began to have races in the pool and I couldn’t believe how much energy the two of them could have. I was getting tired just watching them. Suddenly a knock sounded at the front door and Ryan quickly got out of the pool to answer the door.
Opening the door, I could see his body go rigid, “Mike,” he said coldly. I glanced at the door and my jaw dropped open in shock. It was my ex-boyfriend, why on earth was he here and what did he want with Ryan?
“Ryan,” He said back, just as cold.
“Michael, what on earth are you doing here?” I yelled at him.
“Well Jennifer,” he spat, “I was in town and decided that I needed to talk to Ryan.”
“Who’s this?” Paul whispered to me.
“This jerk is my ex-boyfriend who I thought,” I stressed the word, “I would never see again.”
“Really Jen? I never thought you would be so cold towards me.”
I glared at him. “Don’t you dare call me Jen. You evil jerk ruined part of my life.” I started to move towards him and Paul grabbed me to prevent me from moving forward.
“Mike, say what you need to say and get out of here. None of us want you around.” Mike glared at all of us, “Fine. Ryan, I wanted to tell you to leave Jen alone. She doesn’t need you in her life.”
I quickly interrupted him, “You can’t tell my friends what to do! You’re not a part of my life anymore!”
“I’m not done Jen, also Ryan, you should know that she has no faith in men and that she will end up cheating on you, or anyone else she ever dates, since she did that to me.”
I broke free from Paul’s grasp and slapped him, hard, across the face. “You have absolutely no right to say that about me. We broke up over a year ago. Things can change you know!” Just as I was about to hit him again, Ryan grabbed me and held me back.
“Jen, relax. Give me a minute,” He whispered to me. “Get out of my house Mike. I don’t want you to come back here, and never talk to Jen again if you know what’s good for you.” I was so glad that I had these two on my side, along with George, Damian, Keith and Eric whom I knew would stick up for me if I needed their help.
“You are a true jerk Mike. What did she ever do to you? Now get out and leave us alone,” Paul said.
“And NEVER call me Jen again,” I said through a glare as Ryan shut the door in his face. As soon as he left I broke down crying. I couldn’t believe I was crying over this jerk again. I had vowed never to cry over him again, because he was not worth it. “Please guys, don’t listen to anything he has to say,” I said through my tears.
“I know I’ve never met him before, but he seems like a jerk!” Paul said. “Do you mind me asking why you ever dated him in the first place?”
“No Paul it’s ok. I thought he was a good guy at first. He was always so nice to me, but then things started to get out of hand. He got upset whenever I said that I was hanging out with Ryan or Alanna, he hated my job, and it seemed that everything I did was wrong. Not to mention he never made any plans, and if I didn’t call he wouldn’t try, so when we didn’t see each other all the blame would get placed on me.”
“Jen, I’m so sorry… I wish you never had to go through that.” Paul told me as he gave me a hug.
“It was my stupid choice. I should have listened to Ryan and Eric about it. They were right all along. I’m so sorry Ryan.”
“Please Jen, don’t worry about it. We’re always going to be here for you, remember that. And is it true about you not trusting men?”
“Not anymore. Right after we broke up I could barely stand the sight of any man, aside of my brother. But then I joined Celtic Thunder, thanks to you, and meeting you guys really helped me. Especially after tour. I’m not so sure that I trust guys I don’t know well, but always know that the five, or six if you include my brother, of you guys I would trust with my life. I cannot thank you enough for that experience.” I said with a smile on my face, even though it was covered with tears. Paul went into the other room and grabbed some tissues from me. “And what he said about the cheating bit? I could punch him again… it is not true! He was the one that cheated on me, I don’t know why he’s blaming me for it!”
Paul glanced at Ryan, “Well, I know who to never let her near now…” he said with a grin as I laughed.
“You have that right Paul! If you guys want to beat him up for me, please go right ahead! I don’t even know what he was doing here… He lives down south…” I trailed off, trying to get my mind off of him. Before I knew it I was enveloped into a hug from both Paul and Ryan. “Thanks so much guys. I’m up for getting in the pool now that I’m soaking wet!” The three of us burst into laughing because they had forgotten that they were still wet from the pool.
“Go ahead out you two, I’ll be there in a sec,” Ryan said as he went into the other room. Paul and I headed back to the pool and as soon as we got there, Paul grabbed me and jumped into the pool, dragging me with him.
“Paul!!” I yelled through a laugh. “What was that for?”
“That,” he said, giving a dramatic pause, “was to make you laugh, because you needed it.”
“Thanks again Paul, I don’t know what I would do without you guys,” I told him as I went to hug him again. As I was hugging him, I dragged him underwater for payback for earlier. He came up sputtering for air and just started laughing at me. “What are the two of you doing?” Ryan yelled from inside. Paul and I glanced at each other.
“Nothing!” We yelled innocently.
“Why do I highly doubt that…?” Ryan said as he ran out to the pool and jumped in right next to us.
“Ryan!!” I yelled as I shook my hair out of my face. “Thanks for that…” I decided to get out of the pool and dried off quickly. Sitting down I began to remember what had just happened and couldn’t stand the thought of him. I saw a rock that was on the ground and picked it up. I started to mumble about how unfair Michael was being to all of us, even Paul and he had no idea who Paul was! Without realizing what I was doing, I threw the rock.
“Jen! What’s wrong?” Ryan asked after he heard the rock hit the fence.
“What?” I asked in confusion. I looked at my hands and tears formed in my eyes again, along with a blush. “I hope I didn’t hurt your fence…”
“I don’t care about the fence Jen. And you shouldn’t be worried about it either, it’s not like it’s a live person. Leave it to you to feel sorry for an inanimate object…” He said the last bit under his breath, but loud enough for Paul and I to hear, causing us to laugh, but my laugh was stifled fairly quickly.
“Jen, you can tell us what’s wrong, please?” Paul asked with concern filling his voice.
“That stupid jerk. That’s all. Can we go somewhere to get my mind off of this mess that I somehow wound up in once more?” I said as I was engulfed into another hug.
“Of course Jen!” Ryan said with a smirk. “Paul, we need to talk. Jen why don’t you go get changed, and Paul and I will discuss what needs to be discussed.”
“Ok?” I said as I quickly as I raised an eyebrow and went into the other room, not sure if I was dreading what they would be talking about or hoping that it would be a major help.
As soon as Jen left, Ryan and Paul began discussing the issue that just developed. “Ryan, we need to do something about this. I just have no idea what. Do you have any other idea as to why he showed up today?”
“I agree that something needs to be done. And as for him showing up? I don’t believe that what he told us was the only reason he showed up. There has to be something underlying that caused him to come here.”
“You’ve known him and this situation for much longer than I have,” Paul sat down on Ryan’s couch as he heard water starting in the bathroom. “Good, it looks like we’ll have more time to discuss this since she just got in the shower.” Ryan leaned on the kitchen counter, “I hope that’s a good idea. Knowing her she’ll be brooding the whole time in there and either come out perky, depressed, or angry.”
“Only thing I can think of is that he’s convinced that the two of you are dating and he’s jealous.”
“I don’t know why he would think that! He should know that she’s a really good friend…” Ryan trailed off with a distant expression in his eyes that didn’t go unnoticed to Paul.
“Same with me Ryan,” the same distant expression came across Paul’s face, but neither wanted to bring up this topic that could hurt Jen. They fall silent for a few minutes, each thinking about their own thoughts on how to proceed.
“Should we talk to the other guys about this?” Ryan asked Paul. “I feel that George would have some good advice, Damian would make her laugh, and Keith could bring her surfing or something.”
“You know, that’s the best idea,” Paul replied as Ryan’s phone began to ring. Ryan quickly walked over to the phone and answered it.
“Hello?”
“Dude, I have the best news for you!”
Ryan began laughing, “Hey Keith, we were just talking about you. Paul and I need to discuss something with you.”
“Ok, put me on speaker, I need to tell you my news!” Ryan shook his head towards Paul as he put the phone on speaker, thankful that Jen was still in the shower.
“Hey man, what’s the craic?” Paul said once Ryan put the phone on speaker.
“So I found this amazing girl today! She loves music, she can sing, and she enjoys surfing!! You guys need to meet her!”
“Wow Keith, you’re really excited.” Ryan glanced at Paul. “Keith hold on one second.” Ryan turned to Paul and said, “Why don’t we go meet Keith’s girl and take Jen on a vacation away from here?”
“Sounds like a good idea to me!” Paul said in relief.
“Ok Keith we’re back. And we’d love to meet her! Just tell us when, and we’ll explain this issue with you then. It’s about Jen, and she’s in the other room so I can’t really discuss it freely right this second.”
“That does not sound good…” Keith said through a sigh. “But are you guys free this week? You can stay at my house, there are plenty of rooms! And I’m taking you surfing no matter what you say.”
“Fine…” Ryan and Paul said. “Sorry Keith but we have to go. I’m going to arrange a plane to fly out tomorrow, does that sound ok?”
“Sure guys, call me when you get to the airport so I can pick you up.”
“Will do, thank you so much Keith. We have to go, Jen’s about to come in. See you tomorrow.” The three guys said bye to each other and hung up the phone.
“Well Paul, let’s get her home and packed, and get a flight booked, one-way so we can come back whenever we want to. Sound good?”
“Yep. Just what are we doing with Ceol?”
“She’s going to come with us. I know she’ll have fun at Keith’s, and at the ocean. Go throw your stuff in a bag, we’re staying at Jen’s tonight, no matter what she says.”
“Ryan, I’ll be right back, I need to make a phone call regarding this…”
Ryan gave Paul a confused expression, “Ok?”
“Trust me, it’s for the best,” Paul said as he walked outside.
“I’ll keep Jen occupied, be back soon so we can get to her house.”
Paul walked outside and dialed a number into his phone.
“Hello?” The voice came on from the other side of the phone.
“Tony? It’s Paul. I need your help with something. Would you be able to give some protection over one of my friends?”
“Of course Paul. What’s the issue?”
“Is this a secure line?”
“Yeah it should be.”
“Well Tony… My friend Jen is having problems. Her ex-boyfriend came today and it appeared that he was stalking her. Ryan also had mentioned something to me awhile ago that I thought nothing was going to come from, but I think this might be the start of it.”
“Are you sure it’s not just an ex-boyfriend thing?”
“Positive, Ryan told me that she was a witness to a bank robbery about 10 years ago. The robber was never found, but he could put faces to all the people that were in the bank at the time. Her ex-boyfriend was also there and thought to be included in the robbery, but no evidence came forth to prove that. But after what Ryan told me, I’m really worried about her. I feel that this guy is coming after her.”
“Sure Paul, I’ll help. Anything for one of my favorite Secret Agent’s!” Paul had met Tony when he worked for the government. Paul had used the cover of singing to do some wonderful work for the government, he retired from there to focus on singing, but occasionally his old boss would call him for some help. “I’ll be there as soon as I can, I’ll fly out in two hours.”
“I’ll pick you up, just know, she’s going to kill me for doing this, and for finding out all of this about me…”
“Relax Paul. See you soon, this is Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo signing off.” Paul shook his head, “You would still say that… See you soon.” Paul replied and hung up. Paul quickly walked back into the house and nodded towards Ryan. “You two ready to go?”
“Yep, c’mon Jen. We’re heading back to your place. And we’re going to Keith’s tomorrow.” Ryan said as he ushered Jen towards the door.
“We are? How come? And Alanna was coming over when we got back.”
“Well Keith has a surprise for us. He’s apparently met a new girl that he wants us to meet. Ryan and I figured we might as well go visit there and see Keith and Damian. And Alanna’s still welcome for tonight, and she can come to Keith’s too if she wants to.” Paul told Jen with a smirk on his face, although his eyes were saying that he was hiding something.
The drive back to my house was spent in silence. I could tell that something was up, but I had no idea what… Every time I asked they would say nothing and act like nothing was wrong. They were not fooling me though. I texted Alanna telling her to get over to my house as soon as possible because I needed some sanity. Arriving at my house I could see Alanna’s car outside. I opened the door and ran in to find her. “Thank goodness you’re here girl!”
“What’s up Jenny?”
“I’ve had the weirdest day today… Michael showed up,” I said through a glare. “And now Paul and Ryan are treating me strangely and I have no idea as to why,”
“He showed up at Ryan’s? How and why?”
“To tell lies about me apparently…” As I said this I heard my door open once more and Ryan and Paul walked in. I glanced at them and just let them be as I dragged Alanna into my room.
“Don’t forget to pack Jen!” Ryan yelled as I shut my door.
“Pack?” Alanna asked in confusion.
“Yeah pack. Apparently we’re going to see Keith tomorrow… you’re welcome to come with us if you want to though. Please?” I begged her. I loved the guys, but after today I was going to need my best girl friend with me.
“Yeah, I’d love to come. Question though, what was the text about earlier? You said you really needed to talk to me?”
I sighed. “That was today? Too much has happened. Well, I wanted to talk to you about Paul, Keith and Ryan. Well, just Paul and Ryan now I guess.”
“You guess? What happened?”
“Well Keith wants us to come out to meet some girl that he met, which should be interesting.”
“Ahh ok. So what’s this about Paul and Ryan?”
“I hate discussing this with them in the other room. But thankfully the TV is on. Well, I’m not sure what to think about them. They are both acting like they like me as more than a friend, and I’m not sure where I stand with them regarding that.”
“Why do you think that?”
“Because they both have been extremely sweet to me, they’ve taken me out to places recently and they have both been there for me each time I needed them. I don’t know what I would do without all of you guys.”
“Jen, I think you’re going to need to follow your heart. But first, let whatever is going on right now happen. We’re going to need everything we can get to get through this. Any idea what it is about?”
“I hate to say this, but I overheard Ryan and Paul talking earlier, and they thought it had to do with the bank robbery,” I shivered as the memories began to flood back in full force. I had finally escaped the nightmares a few years back but I felt like they were going to be back tonight if this was actually true.
“How would Michael being back have to do with that?”
“Because he was allegedly an accomplish, but with no evidence against him. I don’t know what to do or think right now. Alanna, I’m scared now. I see Paul and Ryan are being really protective of me right now, which is why I think we are going to see Keith tomorrow, and that’s why they are still here.” I sighed as a chill went down my spine. All of a sudden the doorbell rang, causing me to jump a mile.
“Woah, Jen. Calm down. It’s just the doorbell,” Alanna said to me in a soothing voice.
“I know Alanna. Like I said, these things are coming back to haunt me.”
“Come on, let’s go see who’s out there.” The two of us left my room to see Paul and Ryan talking with what appeared to be a cop. I glanced at Alanna and mouthed “See?”
“Jen, Alanna, this is Tony. He’s a friend of mine. I asked him to come here today.” Paul said to the two of us.
“Hi Tony. It’s nice to meet you,” Alanna said as she held out her hand.
“The pleasure is mine,” Tony said as he shook her hand. He turned to me as I breathed in deeply, trying to compose myself. “Jen, it’s wonderful to meet you.”
“Very nice to meet you too Tony. May I ask how you knew Paul?” He glanced at Paul. “I’ll let Paul explain this one,” he said as he sat down.
“Why thanks Tony… Well Jen, it all started the year after I graduated from high school. I was young and reckless at the time, and was soon asked to help the government out on a special assignment,” as he said this my jaw dropped open. “I began to help them out and used singing as my cover. I did many undercover assignments that helped many of the countries around. Tony was my partner who was working publicly, which would be how I met him.”
“You. Were. A. Secret. Agent? I asked, pausing after each word. “That figures, it really does.”
“Why Jen? Why does it figure? And yes, I was a secret agent. But I’m retired and only will do a few cases if need be.”
“It figures because I was a witness to the robbery before! And now Tony,” I turned to Tony, “No offense, but Tony is here to ‘protect me’ just like the twenty others that have tried! My life will never be peaceful. Not to mention all the dreams are going to be coming back, and I’m jumping at every noise…” I could see Ryan’s hand go to his face as he heard those words. He could remember all too well what happened last time.
“Jen, if it helps any, I’m only doing it as a favor for a friend. And I figured I’d get to meet some awesome looking people around here,” Tony said with a grin. “Wait til McGee hears about this…” The rest of us looked at each other in confusion. “My partner at work…” We all nodded as I excused myself to continue packing. Little did I know was that Ryan decided to follow me into my room.
“Jen, the dreams are starting to come back?” Ryan asked me with concern filling his voice.
I sighed, this wasn’t what I wanted to be discussing right now. “Yes Ryan, they are. When the doorbell rang I jumped a mile, again. I hadn’t missed not doing that.”
He came over and gave me a hug. It was strange, this was one of the only times I ever felt like there was no need to be scared. I wonder what that was supposed to mean. “You know I’m always going to be here for you Jenny, right? We’re going to get through this, just like we did the last time. And you realize that Tony is only here because Paul wanted the extra protection on you? Neither of us wants you to get hurt. We care too much Jen.”
I smiled, “Thanks Ryan. I’m going to be leaning on you guys a lot again if things play out as we feel they are going to.”
“Well Jen. That’s what we are here for. And that’s why we are going to Keith’s tomorrow, not to mention that he wants us to meet that girl of his.”
“You’re right… it should be interesting. Well let me finish packing, and then I’ll head back out.”
“Don’t procrastinate too much Jen. And give Tony a chance, he seems like a good guy.”
“Maybe for someone else,” I said with a smirk and as he left I realized the implications of what I just said… I meant it as that Alanna would like him as more than a friend, but me? Did that just imply to Ryan that I liked him as more than a friend? Oh shoot, what on earth did I just get myself into? Now I’m going to have to worry about that on top of worrying about the Michael situation…
I packed quickly because I could hear a lot of laughing going on in the other room. It was lovely having a lot of people over my house that I hadn’t invited previously… oh well. At least I wasn’t alone. I knew that I could not be alone right now, so in ways I was very happy that we were going to Keith’s tomorrow. I walked out to see Tony telling the others a joke about something that happened at work.
“I’m not even going to ask…” I said as I sat down and curled up into a ball next to Ryan. “Are we going to pick Ceol up? I was hoping she’d be coming with us.”
“Of course we are, would you guys rather leave tonight rather than wait for tomorrow?” Ryan asked. “We can go pick Ceol up now and then head to the airport and get on a flight to Derry. I’m sure Tony can arrange it for us, right Tony?” Tony gave him a look with an eyebrow raised, “Sure? I’ll go make a few calls and we can be out of here by 7.”
“Sounds great to me. Is everyone packed?” Paul asked.
Alanna quickly said, “No, I didn’t know I was going, so let me just head home and throw some things in a bag. I’ll be ready in a half hour if that works.” Alanna quickly walked out of the door, with Paul joining her. I sent Ryan a confused expression, wondering why Paul was accompanying her.
“To keep her safe. She’s your best friend, so in case any one is targeting her she’ll have protection.”
“I hate having brought all of this on you guys… You don’t deserve it.”
“It’s not a problem Jen, we love you and don’t care about this, and we just want to be your friends.” I smiled and got up to make Tony and Ryan dinner before we had to leave. Since there was not much time, I quickly made ravioli’s and sauce. We ate in silence with the television on. Our dinner was only interrupted by the clinking of silverware and the brief comments asking for something to be passed. Paul and Alanna quickly arrived. I offered them some food, which they gladly accepted.
“The plane’s all set, let’s head to the airport,” Tony said after a little while. We all got up and went to pile into the car. I locked the doors to my house after I transported Ceol’s stuff to the car. When we arrived at the airport I glanced up to see planes taking off and landing. I sighed as I got out of the car. I knew what we were doing was for the best, and I wanted to see Keith and Damian, and meet this girl, but it did feel strange to be “running” again. As we walked into the airport, Ryan, Tony, Paul, and Alanna were joking around about everything. I was just walking silently next to them, hoping that they would not ask me what was wrong.
“Jenny,” Ryan said in a whisper, “What’s up? You aren’t yourself.”
“I’m fine Ryan. I’m pondering about Keith’s girl, that’s all,” So I lied. That part was true, but it wasn’t foremost in my mind. I didn’t feel like discussing it right now was the only problem. We boarded the plane and it took off. Since we were on a private plane it was much nicer than any commercial one. It was strange, normally I would be enjoying this greatly, but I couldn’t seem to muster the energy to. About twenty minutes after we got onto the plane I fell asleep.
Ryan woke me up about five minutes before the plane was supposed to land. Groggily I asked, “Where are we?”
He laughed, “About five minutes away from the airport in Derry. Thought you might want to be awake for the descent.”
“Thanks Ryan,” I said with a grin. I rubbed my eyes and began to wake up. Stretching I hit Paul across the top of the head.
“Hey! What was that for?”
“Huh?” I asked, “Oh that! I don’t know, just because?”
Paul just shook his head and resumed talking to Alanna. So if Paul was talking to Alanna, was Ryan talking to Tony the whole time? If they were, I wonder what they were discussing…
I exited the plane after I picked up my luggage. Walking off of the plane I could feel the tension in the air disappear. All of a sudden I could see a mop of blonde hair, “Keith!!” I yelled and ran towards him.
“Hey Jenny! I’m so glad you guys could make it. I can’t wait to introduce you to my friend. Thanks for coming on such short timing!” He said as he picked me up and spun me around.
“Not a problem Keith! I wanted to come and meet her! When do we get to meet her anyways?”
“Well, since you guys are here earlier than expected… I was going to be singing down at a pub and she was going to go. Why don’t you come?”
I looked at the others and nodded my head. We headed back to Keith’s house with Alanna and I sitting in the back of the car. The two of us were talking the whole time, wondering what this girl was like, and we haven’t even learned her name yet!
“Hey Keith,” Alanna said. “Can we know this girl’s name?”
“Please?” I added.
“How about… not yet?” He said with what appeared to be a smirk. It was hard to tell since we were sitting behind him.
“Thanks Keith… thanks,” I said, shaking my head while laughing. As soon as we arrived at Keith’s house we all went into his house and claimed different rooms.
“Wow Keith, you’re house is amazing!” I said in awe as I walked inside.
“Why thanks Jen. Since you two have never been here before I have to show you my favorite room in the whole house. Do you two mind sharing a room while you’re here?” He asked Alanna and I. We looked at each other and smiled.
“Of course not! Why would we mind?” Alanna said with a smirk towards me.
“We’ll try not to keep you up too late though!” I said with a laugh as I saw Ryan groan.
“Did you really just do that Keith? Now there will never be any peace and quiet…” Ryan said with a sigh. Paul and Keith began to laugh at how upset Ryan was regarding this. I quickly let Ceol out of her cage and she began to run around Keith’s house in awe of everything. Every few minutes she would stop to sniff something, then she began running again and she tripped over her long ears many times. We all got a great laugh out of her.
After about an hour, Keith told us that we needed to head out to the pub. Alanna and I looked at each other and stayed back a little in order to talk about the upcoming night.
“So what do you think she is going to be like?” I asked Alanna as we sat in the back of the car once more.
“I have a feeling she is going to be a lot like Keith… I just hope we don’t intimidate her,” Alanna replied to me as Keith started the car and pulled out of the driveway.
“You’re probably right… Here’s to a good night!” I said as we continued to talk quietly for the rest of the ride. We pulled up in the parking lot of the pub very shortly after we left. Keith turned off the car and got out of it.
“Guys I’ll be right back, I’m going to go see if she is there and bring her out here to meet you if she is.” We all nodded in agreement as we waited with anticipation to see if Keith came out with someone or alone.
After about five minutes I could see someone walking towards the door. I squinted to see if I could figure out who it was. Suddenly I saw long blonde hair so I knew it had to be Keith. I elbowed Alanna as we both tried to conceal a squeal. We could see a second pair of feet behind Keith so we were quite excited. “Girl’s, calm down,” Paul said to us as I saw Tony look to him. “Tony, you’re going to have to deal with this if you’re around us right now,” I said with a smirk as Alanna enthusiastically nodded her head. All of a sudden I felt an elbow in my stomach so I turned around and saw a girl with straight, brown hair and brown eyes. She was around my height and had a nice tan for an Irish girl. Based on her looks I could tell that she enjoyed being outside, and like Keith, I’m sure she loved to surf. “Everyone, this is Sarah,” He said as he introduced us to her. “Hi Sarah!” I said after Keith introduced me. “It’s a pleasure to meet you. I’ve heard so much about you,” I said as the others all nodded. “Really?” She asked sounding very shocked. “I’ve heard a lot about you guys too. It truly is a pleasure to meet all of you.” “Aw Sarah don’t be shy!” Paul said as he gave her a hug. “We’re an open group of people!” “Paul, you’re scaring her…” Alanna said in a worried tone. “No, I’m fine,” Sarah replied in a high pitched voice. Keith put his arm around her and said, “Don’t worry about them. They don’t bite, especially not Paul.” We all laughed as Paul shoved Keith. “Hey now, no fighting,” Ryan said as Tony was about to say the same thing. Alanna, Sarah, and I slowly backed away from whatever was going to happen next between them. “Girls,” I said, “let’s head inside and find a table that we’ll easily be able to see Keith perform.” We walked off towards the pub and were able to get a table very near where Keith would perform. We talked to Sarah about anything and everything. She was fitting in with us like a long lost sister. It was an amazing feeling. “So Sarah, I hope you don’t mind me asking. But what do you think of Keith?” I asked her after we had talked for awhile. “Honestly? I really like him. I know that I’ve just met him and all, but we both really love surfing and singing. I’ve never met any other guy who enjoys both so openly.” I glanced at Alanna and could she a huge smile on her face. I knew what she was thinking. “Well how about this Sarah, we can try to set you up with Keith tonight,” I said through a wink. “What?” she said as her jaw dropped open. “I mean… how could you? Why? Really?” She stuttered. “Yes really. We know Keith, and we can get Paul, Ryan, and Damian in on this,” I said as some plans began to run through my head. “Wait… who’s Damain?” “One of our friends, he’s also in Celtic Thunder. I’m sure you’ll be meeting him this week,” I said with a laugh. “Yeah Sarah. Trust us, you won’t be doing the wrong thing if this is what you would want.” “Alanna and I set my brother, Eric and his girlfriend up, and they are engaged right now. I think we can manage this task.” Suddenly we heard Keith start to talk. We quickly fell silent. “This song is dedicated to all my wonderful friends, especially a friend named Sarah,” he said as he began The Mountains of Mourne. “See!” Alanna said after he said that. “Trust us Sarah, we already have a plan.” “Ok…” she said. “I hope this is the right decision, just please, do it subtly!” “What are you guys discussing?” Paul said as he, Ryan, and Tony came to join our table. They had been helping Keith get set up and were willing to sing with him if he wanted them to. “Nothing,” The three of us said together and we burst into laughter, quiet laughter though, so not to greatly disturb Keith while he was singing.
Keith’s performance was amazing. He played his songs from the show, along with others that he had written. My favorite of the night was Vanity, and I could tell the others enjoyed it too.
“Hey guys, how was it?” Keith asked as he slid into the booth across from me and next to Sarah.
“Do you even need to ask?” I said with a laugh.
“Yeah Keith, you know you’ll never get a truthful answer out of us!” Paul said with a serious expression. Alanna leaned over and smacked Paul in the head.
“Be nice to Keith!” She shouted.
“Did you really just smack him in the head?” Tony asked Alanna.
“Yeah… why?” She replied.
“Only because my boss does it all the time, and I’ve never seen anyone else do it…”
“Really guys, how was it?” Keith asked again as I looked pointedly at Sarah without him noticing.
“It was great Keith, I’m really glad that I was able to come!” Sarah said with a smile on her face.
“I’m glad you could come too,” He said with a smile that went her way. “I’m glad all of you could come! Are you busy tomorrow Sarah?” The rest of us glanced at each other, wondering what he could be doing.
She glanced around slightly embarrassed, “No I’m not, how come?”
“Because I’d love it if you wanted to hang out with us again,” He said with his infamous grin.
“I’d love to. Call me tomorrow to let me know a time,” she said with a grin.
“Sounds good to me!” Keith said.
“So Keith, have any new songs in the works?” Ryan asked which launched Keith into a long topic of conversation. During this conversation Sarah, Alanna, and I began talking once more.
“Sarah, we need your phone number. And you have to spend the night with us at some point while we’re here,” I said. “There’s so much that we need to talk about!”
“Of course Jen! I’ll need yours too. Where are you staying? And do you know how long you’re staying?”
“We’re actually all staying at Keith’s, and it’s going to be a crazy time there, you should come hang out there for a little if you want to. And I have no idea how long we are staying… That is up to Paul, Ryan, and Tony. I don’t think the two of us have much of a say in that…”
“Really? How come?” Sarah asked in confusion. I glanced at Alanna, “Long story that probably should wait until another day… no offense to you or anything though.”
“None taken.”
“So girls, what are you talking about?” Ryan smoothly added into our conversation.
“Nothing of your concern Ryan,” I told him.
“Aww girls, come on. You know you can tell us!” Paul begged.
“Um, no.” Alanna said. “Not now.”
I smacked my forehead, “Not now Alanna? Why did you say that?”
“Darn it…” she said annoyed as Sarah just looked at us in major confusion.
“So what do you guys say to going surfing tomorrow?” Keith asked us, gracefully interrupting the conversation that did not seem to be going in a favorable way for us.
“Sure!” Sarah said. “It would be so much fun!” The rest of us looked at each other with worry filling our faces.
“About that…” Ryan said.
“Not so sure it’s a great idea,” Paul added.
“I mean we just got here yesterday,” Alanna said.
“Would we drag Damian?” I asked with a laugh, because after last time I would love to go again. I saw jaws drop open in shock. Figuring that they were wondering why I actually wanted to go surfing, I said, “What’s the problem guys? Keith took me surfing before and it was fun! I want to go again…” They all just shook their heads in amazement at my craziness.
“I think we should head back to Keith’s… It’s getting late.” Tony said with his tone saying that he wished he did not have to say what he did.
“Yeah Tony, you’re right. C’mon everyone, let’s head out.” Ryan told us as we all got our stuff together and paid for our meals. As we headed out Keith hung back a little to talk to Sarah. Alanna and I hurried ahead to continue our planning and Ryan, Tony, and Paul were in the middle between the two groups, wondering what was going on.
“So these girls are crazy today…” Ryan said with a shake of his head.
“We heard that!” I yelled back to him in a sing-song voice. “Sarah, are you coming?”
“Yeah I’ll be there in a minute!” She said and turned back to talking to Keith. They were talking to quietly so we couldn’t tell what they were saying. We got into the car and told Sarah that we would meet her back at Keith’s house.
“So Keith,” I began, “What do you think of Sarah?”
“Yeah Keith, tell us all!” Alanna said after me as the guys began to laugh at Keith, who had a dumbstruck expression on his face.
He sighed... “Remind me, why am I friends with you guys again?”
“Because you love us!” I said as Alanna and I began to laugh, again. “Now please tell us!”
“Oh fine…” he trailed off.

“Well?” Alanna prompted him.
“I like her ok? But please don’t do anything crazy about it! I’d never be able to live it down… especially since you all know now.”
“Well Keith, we did kind of figure,” Paul said laughing.
“Yeah, it was kind of obvious after your phone call…” Ryan added. Keith sighed, “Really? Do you think she noticed? And what do you think she thinks of me?”
“Keith, I think you’re overreacting. Just try to talk to her and hang out with her and I think you’ll know what to do,” I told him and gave Alanna a thumbs up.
“I don’t know if I should listen to your advice, but I will. Thanks Jenny,” he smiled into the rear view mirror towards me. The rest of the ride was spent with Keith, Ryan, and Paul discussing Sarah, while Tony was talking on his cell phone. Alanna and I were wondering when Paul and Ryan were going to get around to telling Keith about my “issue” as we called it. We arrived at the house and Sarah pulled up behind us. We headed into the house and Sarah was as shocked at it as I was the first time I saw it.
“Do you guys want to play pool or something?” Keith asked as we all nodded. We headed into his basement to play pool and talk. The night flew by quickly, and Alanna and I managed to push Keith and Sarah together quite a few times that night.
“Guys, I’m getting tired, it’s been a long day. I’m heading up to bed,” I said as three a.m. drew nearer.
“Aw, ok Jen. Sleep well!” A chorus of good nights and sleep well’s were shouted towards me as I headed up to my room. I hugged everyone good night and told Sarah that she needed to stay over here with us and that we would be hanging out really soon. After that day, I fell asleep as soon as my head touched the pillow.
My dreams were plagued with different things that night. I had dreams revolving around Paul and Ryan both trying to save me from someone that was chasing me. Each time I woke up I was in shock, occasionally I could barely breathe I was so terrified. When it became really bad, I quietly got up and went to Ryan’s room. I knew I could count on him, and I needed some reassurance. I quietly shook him to wake him up.
“What’s going on?” He asked groggily.
“Sorry to wake you Ryan, but I need to talk to you,” I hesitatingly said, hearing that he quickly woke up.
“Jen, you know you can tell me anything.”
“I know, that’s why I’m here. Ryan, the dreams are back. I’m really scared right now…” He engulfed me in a hug as soon as he heard that.
“Aw Jen, I’m sorry. If you want to talk about them, I’m here, if not, I’m still here for you.”
I smiled, “Thanks Ryan. Can I just sit here for a few minutes so I can have some company?” He nodded as he began to comfort me. After a few minutes I fell back asleep and did not remember any dreams if I had them.
“Jenny!” I woke up to hear my name being yelled. Opening my eyes, I bolted upright.
“Where the heck… oh! Right, I’m at Keith’s,” I breathed easily and lay back down.
“Wait, I’m not in my room…” I glanced down to the floor next to me and saw Ryan sleeping on the floor.
“Jenny, where are you?” I could hear Alanna calling for me, and Keith, Paul, and Tony joining the search for me. I quickly opened the door of Ryan’s room and went into the hallway. I saw Alanna out of the corner of my eye and I headed towards her.
“What’s the fuss for?” I asked her.
“Jenny!” She yelled as she threw her arms around me. “You’re ok! I was worried about you!”
“You were worried about me?” I asked her.
“Yes! After what happened yesterday, I needed to make sure you were ok, and when I woke up and you weren’t in our room I got really worried. Sorry, but I got Paul, Keith, and Tony to help me look…”
“Man I’m sorry Alanna, the dreams came back last night, and I didn’t want to wake you up (don’t even bother arguing) so I went to see Ryan and I guess I fell asleep while I was there. I don’t even remember falling asleep.”
“That’s ok, I just hope that you’re going to be fine… Guys! I found her!” I could hear footsteps approaching us quickly as Paul and Keith appeared, I was swallowed up into a hug from the two of them in extreme relief.
“Paul, does Keith know everything now?” I asked.
“Yeah, sorry you couldn’t tell him, but Ryan and I figured he needed to know.”
“Jen, that’s a horrible thing that happened to you, I’m always going to be here for you, and trust me. I’m going to make sure that we have a wonderful time while you guys are here!” He said excitedly as the rest of us looked at each other.
“Well, considering I have a feeling that we will be leaving soon if what Keith wants to do is accurate, I’m going to go wake up Ryan. Keith you just might want to call Sarah to tell her what’s going on,” I said with a wink in his direction.
“Yeah, yeah, yeah,” He said giving me a look. “You go wake up Ryan. Alanna, Paul, do you want to go make breakfast? And Tony, feel free to do whatever you need to do.”
Alanna glanced at Paul, “Sure Keith, we’ll go tackle breakfast!” Alanna said with a grin.
“I think I’ll go check the security outside, be in shortly,” Tony said as Keith went to get a phone to call Sarah.
I walked back into Ryan’s room and saw him still on the ground. I felt horrible that he ended up sleeping on the floor. Shaking him I called his name. “C’mon Ryan, it’s time to get up. We have a long day ahead of us.”
“Jen, what time is it?” He asked me.
“10:00,” I told him as he grimaced.
“I didn’t mean to sleep in that late…”
“It’s fine Ryan. It’s my fault. Thank you so much for helping me last night, I’m just really sorry that you had to sleep on the floor…”
“It’s fine Jen. Well, we should get ready to go wherever you were discussing, I’ll be out shortly,” he said as I gave him a hug.
“Ok Ryan, thank you again,” I said as I walked out of his room, softly closing the door behind me. I began to walk back towards my room and I stopped short. I had just realized something… I was beginning to fall in love with Ryan Kelly.
After the realization of the day, I tried to spend more time with Alanna in order to figure out my feelings. The strange thing was that I still was attracted to Paul, along with Ryan so I wasn’t sure what to do. I knew that I needed to talk to Alanna really soon, and possibly Sarah and Keith too. They would know what to do.
Our surfing adventure went fairly well. Since Keith, Sarah and I all knew how to surf it was our job to teach the others. I ended up trying to teach Alanna, Sarah was teaching Ryan, and Keith was teaching Paul. Tony decided to not try and surf, he would just stay behind and watch (and laugh) at the others when they did try. I think Keith had the best time trying to teach Paul, Paul could not even figure out how to stand up on the surfboard. By the time Sarah and I had Alanna and Ryan surfing comfortably, Paul finally figured how to stand up on the board.
“What do you mean this thing will support me?” Paul asked angrily pointing to the board.
“First off,” Keith replied, “it’s not a thing, it’s a board,” I laughed when he said that and he glared at me. “Secondly, it was made to support a person on water. Now that you’re standing up Paul, it’s time to get you on a wave!” He said excitedly. Paul sighed in annoyance. “Why am I even doing this? Especially with all these people around? I’m going to be so embarrassed later…”
“You embarrassed?” I laughed, “Now that will be the day!” Paul just glared at me.
“You know what Keith, I think I’ll call Damian and get him to join this party!” Keith nodded in agreement as I took out my phone to give him a call.
“Hey Damian!” I said once he picked up the phone.
“Jenny? How are you?”
“I’m doing pretty well! Are you busy right now? Because we’re all at Keith’s favorite beach, and we thought you should come join us, especially if you want to laugh at Paul,” I told Damian excitedly.
“Hey! I heard that!” He yelled and then began to mumble, “Oh I’ll get them all if they want to make this much fun of me…”
“Sure Jenny! I’ll be there in 20 minutes!” Damian said as he hung up. I walked over to Paul and shoved him, causing him to fall off of the board once more.
“Hey! What was that for?”
“That Paul? That was for you getting mad at me for what I said to Damian.” I joked to him.
“Who said I was mad at ya?” He said as I smiled and rolled my eyes.
“Hey look Paul! It’s Damian! Damian!” I shouted and waved him over to join us.
“Hi everyone, it’s great to see you all here! What are you all doing here and why wasn’t I informed?”
“Oh Damian… You don’t want to know,” I told him as I gave him a hug. “Now let’s get back to surfing!” I could see Damian give an evil smirk as Paul sighed.
Damian already knew how to surf so he was happily watching us try to teach Paul, the whole time he was laughing at how amusing it was, especially when Paul could not do it.
“I give up! I fail at this!” Paul shouted and threw the surfboard down as he collapsed on the beach.
“Now Paul, you know you can’t be good at everything!” Ryan said with a laugh.
“Yeah yeah, Ryan. Speak for yourself!”
“Where’s Tony? I don’t think he and Damian have met…” I said with a curious expression.
“Tony? Who’s that?” Damian asked in confusion.
“You’ll meet him soon… Jenny, let’s go look for him.” Paul said to me as Sarah and Keith walked off along the ocean.
“Damian, Ryan, you guys want to help me with dinner?” Alanna asked as I started to laugh.
“Damian? Cooking? Good luck Alanna and Ryan… Sure Paul, let’s get going,” Paul and I left and began to walk along the beach looking for Tony.
“Can you believe how cute Sarah and Keith are?” I asked in amazement. “I’m so happy for Keith!”
Paul let out a laugh, “They are cute, and you are too when you start talking about something you enjoy. Are you cold?” He asked when he saw me wrap my arms around my body.
“A little… why?”
“Just wondering,” he said as he put his arm around me. I leaned in closer to him because he was warm.
“Hey!” I shouted, “It’s Tony!” I said as soon as I saw him. He dropped his arm off of me, and I could see him give this strange look of longing. I glanced at him in confusion, but didn’t press anything. “Tony, there’s someone we want you too meet.”
“Really?” He asked excitedly. “Who is it?”
“It’s not a girl if that’s what you’re thinking Tony,” Paul said as Tony’s facial expression dropped.
“It’s Damian, that’s who!” I said as I grabbed both of their hands and dragged them back to where the others were. We arrived out of breath and in fits of hysterics.
“Damian,” I panted, “this is Tony, Tony, Damian.” I said as I introduced them to each other.
“So how do they know you Tony?” Damian asked as I laughed.
“Um,” Paul began. “I was a secret agent right out of high school and Tony was my partner,” he said as Damian’s eyes opened in shock.
“Really?” He yelled, “That’s awesome!!” He began to talk in earnest to Tony about what he does at work. All I could do was laugh at how funny the two of them were together. I walked over to Alanna and dragged her away from Ryan.
“Sorry Ryan, I need to steal her for a few minutes…” I told him as the two of us walked out of hearing distance from the rest of the guys.
“What’s up Jen?” she asked me worriedly.
“Well first of, can you believe Keith and Sarah? I’m so happy for them!” I squealed.
“It’s awesome! We did great!” She said to me, “Now what else is up because I know that’s not the only reason that you dragged me over here.”
I sighed. “Alanna I need your help… I don’t know what to do… I’m stuck in the middle of two pairs of emotions, and I have feelings for both of them.”
“Who?” She asked, slightly intrigued.
“Ryan… and Paul,” I said as I put my head into my hands.
“Paul too?” She asked in shock. “I could tell you liked Ryan, but Paul I wasn’t so sure about…”
“What?” I screeched in shock. “How did you know I liked Ryan?”
Her eyes opened in surprise, “How? It’s obvious Jen. You’re always with him, when the dreams came back last night you went straight to him, you’re always with him, etc.”
My eyes opened in understanding, “Oh.” I simply said. “But Paul…?”
“Well like I said, I couldn’t tell whether or not you like him, but I could tell that he likes you.” Once more my eyes widened, I couldn’t believe what she was telling me.
“What’s your opinion of what I should do?” I asked her, lifting my head from my hands once more.
“I feel like you should follow your heart, just like I told you last time. Let things go where they want to go, you’ll figure it out in the end!” I gave her a half-smile as thanks as we got up and headed back to the others. When we reached them I took a seat next to Ryan and grabbed some of the food he had made. Paul, Damian, and Tony were still talking about working with the government. Keith and Sarah were still nowhere to be found, and I felt really bad for Ryan because he was alone at the moment, or at least that was what I was telling myself.
“This is awesome Ryan!” I said when I had tasted the food. He had made some hamburgers that were indescribable.
“Thanks…” he said, embarrassed. We continued to eat enjoying our conversation while also laughing at some of the remarks that were said from Paul, Tony, and Damian. All of a sudden Keith and Sarah appeared on the horizon, and it looked like they were holding hands! I nudged Alanna and Ryan and pointed towards them.
“Is that Keith and Sarah?” I asked them. I could see Alanna and Ryan’s eyes open in shock.
“I think it is!” Ryan breathed. The two of them came to where we were sitting and settled on the ground next to each other. I could see a tinge of pink on Sarah’s cheeks, and Keith had a very broad grin on his face that I knew was not just from being at the ocean. I grinned, and after I finished eating, stood up and said,
“Alanna, Sarah, do you guys want to join me for a brief walk?” The other two nodded and we stood up.
“Jen, Paul and I need to talk to you when we get back to Keith’s,” Ryan told me as we began to walk away, “Ok Ryan,” I replied with confusion filling my face.
“So?” Sarah asked when we got a little ways away.
“So? That’s all you can say Sarah?” Alanna told her.
“Spill Sarah, we know you have a lot to tell us!”
“Oh fine…” she began. “Well, you know how Keith and I said that we met each other recently? Well to begin with, that’s not true. We went to school together a few years back. We were really good friends at the time, but then his music started to become more of his life. We grew apart, but I had had feelings for him for the longest time. During the few years that we didn’t see each other the feelings were still there for him, even though I tried to date other people. One day I ended up at a pub after a relationship gone badly, and guess who was there! Keith! He was performing which was how I knew for sure that it was him.
“After he was done, I walked over to him and said hi again. I was in shock, he actually remembered who I was. We exchanged our phone numbers again and began to hang out once more. You know the rest of the story up until today, correct?”
Alanna and I both nodded, wondering where the rest of the story was going to go from here. I was intrigued that they had known each other previously.
“So today you know what happened at the beginning then he decided to ask me to take a walk with him. I accepted and we wandered down the beach, admiring the ocean. We were talking for a little and then we found a gorgeous spot on the beach. The sun was beginning to set so we sat down and watched the sun set. Just as the sun was setting he asked me if I would honor him and be his girlfriend, and I obviously said yes! I feel like I’m walking on clouds right now, I can’t even describe how happy I am!” Sarah said with a huge smile on her face.
“See Sarah! We told you it would all work out,” I said with a grin.
“Now you don’t have to worry about it! We’re so happy for you!” Alanna said with a smile. We gave her a huge hug and I could see her face light up.
“I know I’ve only met you two, but I cannot thank you enough for letting me into your life so easily. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate that,” Sarah said as we started to head back to the guys. When we came back Ryan and Paul decided that we should head home.
“Damian, you’re welcome to spend the night at my house if you want to. We’ll all be there tonight,” Keith told Damian, and Damian quickly accepted the offer. We rode back to Keith’s in extreme happiness. We drilled Keith about his side of his relationship with Sarah and we found out the same things that she had already told us.
We arrived back at Keith’s and I was really tired so I was going straight to bed. I felt really bad because Sarah was going spend tonight with us.
“Sarah, I’m exhausted so I’m going to bed, but if you want please stay tomorrow night too so we can talk more!” I said as I headed up to bed.
“Jen, wait a second,” I heard Ryan call from downstairs. “Paul and I still need to talk to you.”
“Ok,” I replied as I walked into the room that Paul and Ryan were sitting in. Seeing the looks on their faces, I became really worried, I did not like what I was seeing at all.
“Guys, what’s wrong?” I asked them after I shut the door.
“Ryan has to go back to the Moy for a few days and we were worried about your protection.” Paul told me in a serious voice.
“My protection?” I asked in exasperation. “We’ve already got Tony joining us, there’s you, and Ryan when he’s here. Don’t forget about Keith too!”
“We aren’t forgetting about him, we just don’t want anything happening to you Jen. Plus there’s something we never told you…”
I glanced at him with a look of annoyance on my face. “Really now Paul? Why does that not surprise me.”
“Please don’t get mad at us… we’re only doing this for your protection,” Ryan said to me in a pleading voice. “But just listen to us, we got a call from Tony’s partner, McGee, and he had been checking your house daily to see if anything was amiss. Yesterday he noticed some footprints near the door, along with a pen from the bank. They were checking it for fingerprints, but the last I knew there was nothing to be found. Please Jenny, we need to keep you safe…”
“Do whatever you need to do while you’re gone Ryan,” I said with a sigh as I gave into what I knew they thought I should do. All of a sudden Tony walked in. I smiled his way as he grinned back at me.
“So Jen, here is a pager for you to use if you need it. I’m hoping that you won’t need it, but it’s much better to be prepared than to not be. You have all of our phone numbers so we don’t need to worry about that, and I want you to be with at least one of us at all times. Does that sound good to you?” He told me as I slowly nodded. After he was done talking I told them I was heading up to my room.
“Good night Jen,” they replied to me. “We’ll tell you the plans as soon as they are finalized,” Paul told me as I just nodded. As I was about to walk out of the door Ryan caught up to me and decided to walk me up to my room.
“I’m terribly sorry about all of this Jenny,” he said to me after the door had closed.
“Why are you sorry?” I asked him. “It was my fault for having been in the bank that day. You have nothing to be sorry for.”
“I should have stopped you,”
I quickly interrupted him, “How were you supposed to know what would happen that day?”
“You’re right… but I shouldn’t have let you go that day.”
“Ryan, relax. It’s ok. I’m just glad that you’ve been here for me all of this time, and I cannot thank you enough for that. Good night Ryan,” I said as I was about to head in my room.
“No Jen, thank you,” he said as he leaned down and kissed me on the forehead and gave me a hug. I smiled up towards him.
“See you in the morning Ryan.” I said shutting my door. As soon as it was shut I collapsed on my bed. Sure I had meant to go to bed early, but after what had just happened, I’m not sure I would be able to.
That night I lay in my bed tossing and turning. I heard the door open twice for Alanna and Sarah to come in. I pretended to be asleep each time because I wasn’t sure I wanted to tell them what happened just yet. Thoughts kept entering my head about Ryan and that if something happens between us would our friendship still be as strong? And what about Paul? I still do have feelings for him… especially after how thoughtful and caring that he’s been regarding this whole situation he got thrown into.
Getting up I decided I would wander down into the kitchen to get a drink and possibly a snack. Since it was around two in the morning I figured that no one would be awake. To my surprise I was wrong. I walked into the kitchen to see the lights on.
“Damian? What are you doing up?”
“I could ask you the same thing,” he said with a smirk as he quickly hid something behind his back. I raised an eyebrow and motioned to what he hid. He made a face and showed me some cookies that were in his hands.
“Why would I care about those Damian? I’m done here for the same reason… can I have one?” I asked as I poured milk for the two of us. “So in answer to my question Damian…?”
“I couldn’t sleep… it’s strange to not be in my own house really. And I was hungry, so I came to get food.”
“Makes sense…”
“What about for you?” he quickly asked me.
“Well… if you promise not to tell ANYONE.” I said seriously, “then I’ll tell you.”
“Why would I tell anyone Jen? You know I’m here for you and that I can keep a good secret,” I laughed quietly, “hey! You know I can if I want to…”
“Ok fine… So I’m really confused about Paul and Ryan right now. They’ve been treating me so wonderfully recently, that I cannot thank them enough for it. But I think they have feelings for me, and right now I do have feelings for both of them. And tonight, Ryan kissed me on the forehead… Oh Damian, I’m sorry that I’m telling you all of this, I just need a guys perspective on everything…” I trailed off.
“Don’t be sorry Jen. You’ve been there for me each time that I had an issue and needed someone to talk to. I’m glad that I can give you a hand. So my opinion first of all would be to follow your heart. And I feel that based on what you said, they both do like you. I know it’s going to be hard to not hurt one of them, but know that it will need to be done eventually. Boy I feel horrible saying that about my friends…” he trailed off with a distant expression in his eyes. “What’s your feeling on this right now?” He asked as his gaze focused back onto me.
“Right now?” I said with a sigh. “I’d have to say Ryan, but I’m not sure if that’s because I’ve known him for my whole life… see this is why I’m having an issue Damian.” I put my head into my hand as he came over and gave me a hug. I raised me head and smiled at him, “Thanks a lot Damian. We’ll see what happens as things progress in this stressful time, you do know what’s going on right?”
“What’s going on…?” he asked with a questioning glance. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath in and explained to him what was going on.
“Jenny… I’m so sorry. If there’s anything I can do to help please let me know.”
“These two AM talks are wonderful to begin with!” I laughed as he joined me.
“Go back to bed Jen,” he said through a smile. “I can see that you’re getting even more tired. And I’ll watch the two of them and see what happens for you ok?”
“Thank you so much Damian. You are a lifesaver,” I said as I gave him another hug. “Good night Damian.”
“Good night Jen,” he told me as we headed towards our separate rooms. I fell back into bed, thinking about what Damian and I had just discussed. I know I must have fallen asleep at some time, but I couldn’t distinguish being awake and being asleep for the rest of the night.
The next thing I knew I was being gently shaken awake. “Ryan?” I mumbled, half-asleep.
“Morning Jen. I’m heading out this morning and wanted to say good-bye to you before I had to leave…” I sat up and stretched.
“Sorry I was still asleep… I had trouble sleeping last night. I’m up now though,” I said as I got out of my bed. “Do you really have to go home Ryan?” I asked with a sigh.
“Yeah Jen, I need to try to help McGee. I was also going to get some more clothes and stuff for us. Not to mention that the accountant job I was in needs my help for a few days,” he rolled his eyes.
I raised an eyebrow towards him, “Really? That’s the main reason that you’re going back?”
“Sadly enough…” He laughed, “Care to accompany me downstairs?” I smiled and took his hand as we walked downstairs. As we reached the bottom of the stairs I saw Alanna sitting with Paul. She glanced at me and raised her eyebrow. I shook my head without anyone noticing. We sat down to eat a quick breakfast so Ryan could head out.
“Too bad you’re leaving Ryan,” Keith started to say. “I had some great stuff planned for the next few days…”
“Why thanks Keith,” Ryan began, “Make me feel great about leaving.”
Paul grinned, “Not our fault!” Ryan gave him a look, causing Paul to grimace, “Hey I was just kidding!”
“Sure Paul, sure,” Damian said with a laugh as Alanna and I were just looking at each other, trying to keep our mouths shut.
“What are you two laughing about?” Ryan asked when he saw us. The other guys quickly agreed with him.
“Nothing?” We tried to say innocently.
“Well that’s a downright lie,” Damian said. Alanna and I just continued our own conversation and let the boys continue to banter. We rolled our eyes so much that morning, I couldn’t even believe it. We finished our breakfast fairly quickly and Ryan had to leave. Everyone said good-bye to him in the house, but I decided that I would walk out with him.
“Please be careful while I’m gone Jenny,” he told me with a sigh.
“Don’t worry Ryan. I have Paul, Keith, Damian, and Tony. I think I’ll be safe,” I told him jokingly.
He smiled and gave me a hug. “Call me if you need or want to talk at all. I’ll be back on Sunday, and try to not get into too much trouble?”
“I’ll try, but you know how it sometimes finds me…” I could see him grimace. “But I’ll be even more careful than normal!” I quickly added.
“Thank you Jenny, I will see you soon,” he bent down and gave me another hug that I returned. Just as he was about to get in the car he gave me a kiss on the cheek. “Be safe Jen.” And with that, he was gone.

I walked back to the house in a daze. I couldn’t believe that he was gone, but I was also relieved that I would have time to sort out my feelings. I walked back into the house and sat down on the couch upstairs. Turning on the TV I tried to find something on, but was just flipping through the channels, not really watching anything.
“Jenny?” I heard from behind as Paul sat down next to me. “You ok? You don’t seem yourself right now. Not to mention you walked by all of us downstairs without saying anything.”
“Did I really?” I asked in shock. “I didn’t mean to. I’m sorry.” Paul quickly sat down next to me.
“I can tell something’s wrong Jen. You know you can tell me,” he pressed.
“Paul, really I’m fine. Just slightly worried about everything that’s going on right now.”
“That’s understandable,” he told me with a half-smile. Giving me a half-hug he asked, “Do you mind if I stay with you here for awhile?”
“Not at all,” I told him as he leaned back to his seat, leaving his arm around me. I leaned into him with a slight sigh of happiness. We sat in silence watching TV until Keith and Damian yelled up the stairs for us.
“Jen! Paul! Where are you guys? We’re hungry and we were waiting for you to eat. Get down here!” Damian yelled up to us as I gave Paul an exasperated look.
“Yeah guys! I had a lot planned for today! Get down here now,” Keith yelled to us.
“Fine, we’re coming!” Paul replied to them. “Geez, we can never get a moment’s peace with them around now can we?”
“Nope, never,” I told him with a laugh. “But hey, you guys are best friends, and I love you all for that,” I smirked.
“Hm, now is that a complement or not?” He asked me and started to tickle me.
“Stop Paul!!” I said through a laugh.
“Now why would I do that?” He asked as we stumbled down the stairs into the kitchen. I saw Damian and Keith’s eyes open wide as we fell into the kitchen. Damian and Keith glanced at each other, “Should we even ask?” Damian said. I burst out into laughter, “Probably not.” We sat down and ate our lunch and Keith told us that we were going to go sightseeing with them that day.
“Really Keith?” I asked in happiness. I was extremely excited to be getting out of the house for awhile, since I wasn’t sure how often I would be able to get out of the house until this idiot of a person is caught.
Our sight seeing trip was an interesting experience. Alanna, Tony, and I were in awe of the beauty around us, while Paul kept shouting and wanting to get out to look around.
“Oh! Look at the water! Keith let’s stop here!” Paul shouted as we came upon an ocean.
“Paul, we are not getting out here too. We got out on the same ocean five minutes ago,” Keith said in exasperation.
“But… but… but…” Paul said as we all rolled our eyes.
“NO!” Damian shouted. “Keep driving Keith, please.” Keith continued to drive and the ride continued in much the same way.
“So Keith…” I began, “Are we going to do anything for dinner?”
“Sure, I’ll drive us to one. It will be surprise for you guys!”
“Ok…” Alanna said. “Should we call Sarah?”
“I already told her we were going to be there tonight!”
My eyes opened in shock, “Really Keith?” I was surprised. Keith normally is never this organized. And how did he know that we would be there that night? He was up to something, and I was going to find out what it was.
We arrived at the restaurant and were greeted by none other than Sarah! I gave a glance towards Alanna, questioning what was going on. She shrugged as we were led to our table.
“So Sarah, how did you know that we would be here? Because Keith failed to mention anything to us today…” I asked her questioningly.
“He called me this morning telling me to meet you guys here around 7, so I came,” She replied. “That’s strange he didn’t tell you…” She turned to Keith, “Any particular reason why?”
“Um… no?” Keith told her. We all sat down around the table, Sarah and Keith were sitting next to each other with Damian next to Keith. On the other side of the table was Paul and I and Alanna sitting next to me.
“Oh dear,” I mentioned to Alanna, “Keith and Paul are sitting across from each other… this is going to be a long and crazy dinner.”
The majority of the night was spent listening to Keith and Paul banter. Occasionally Damian would join in, but that didn’t happen too often. Most of the time it was myself, Alanna, and Sarah talking about guys, and Damian also joined in occasionally, which made matters quite funny.
“So Sarah, what would you love to have a guy do for you?” I asked her with a laugh.
“Hmm… I’d have to say I’d love to have breakfast in bed, or to be taken out shopping for a day with him,” she told us with a sigh.
“Well you do realize that could be arranged?” Damian said to us as we raised our eyebrows.
“What about you Jen and Alanna? Or you with a girl Damian?”
“Well,” I began, “I think I’d have to say the same things that you did, along with being sung to whenever I wanted…” I gave a half-smile as my eyes got a glazed look.
“Ok, continuing on… I’m going with the same thing that the two of you had said… and I can’t think of anything else right now,” Alanna said to us.
“Hmm, that’s a tough once. I’ll go with a girl willing to watch football with me, and to put up with my love of it, along with my love of music.”
“Really Damian? That sounds great! I’ll get you a girl just like that!” Keith said as he slapped Damian on the shoulder.
“Yeah Damian! Keith, Ryan and I will get on that!” Paul said with a grin.
“So sorry to cut this oh so wonderful conversation short, but there was some news that I needed to tell you guys,” Keith said with a serious expression.
“Keith’s serious, this can’t be good,” I mumbled to Alanna.
“I heard that Jen,” He told to me with a roll of his eyes. I shrugged.
“You’re point?” I asked.
He shook his head. “Well everyone, I wanted to tell you this. You remember how Sharon was talking about hiring a few new backup singers?” Out of the corner of my eye I could see Sarah sit up a little straighter in her seat. “Well, I gave her one of my opinions, and she agreed after she heard this amazing voice. I want to welcome Sarah to our group!” Sarah’s eyes shot wide open.
“Re…rea…really Keith?” She asked dumbfounded. “Sharon actually wants… me?”
“Don’t look so amazed Sarah. You have a beautiful voice. And yes, she does want you to join us. You can come to our rehearsal next month. Don’t worry you’ll get more information once we do!”
“Sarah that’s amazing!!! You’re going to be working with all of us, and we’ll be able to spend so much time together!” I told her in happiness.
“I know you play flute for them Jen, and obviously you guys sing, but what do you do Alanna?”
“I’m their stage manager. I help Sharon out a lot, and I do a lot of work with the merchandise table, along with Alex. Now there’s some great craic,” Alanna said with a smile.
“That’s awesome Alanna! So that means I get to spend a lot of time with you guys on tour, I’m really excited now! Wait… Keith, is that why you wanted us all here tonight?”
“Darn, you caught me…” Keith said with a laugh. “I figured it would be good for you to hear it around all the people, not to mention that they would want to hear it too!”
“Thanks Keith!” I said to him.
“Hey you guys want to go celebrate at the bowling alley?” Paul suggested. We all replied yes, very excited for what was to come. We quickly paid for our meal and piled into Keith’s and Sarah’s car. The girls went with Sarah while the boys went with Keith, now those two rides were insane, with us drilling Sarah about why she didn’t tell us she auditioned, and with the crazy banter going back and forth between the guys. When we arrived at the bowling alley, we couldn’t believe what we saw.
My jaw dropped open as we pulled up to the bowling alley. He couldn’t be here, how on earth was he here? It made no sense for him to be here, he had lived in the States! He shouldn’t be here, why on earth am I moving to get out of the car? I know! I want to go see Paul. I took a deep breath and got out, I headed to the other car with Sarah and Alanna.
“Jen?” I heard a voice ask, I stiffened and looked over my shoulder.
“Hi Finn,” I said coldly. “Care to explain what you are doing here?” Thank goodness Ryan wasn’t here, or else things would not be good.
“I just felt like visiting here for a few days, not like I wanted to see you here,” he said with a glare in his eyes.
“Well why don’t you just leave my friends and I alone so we can continue our lives in peace!” I shouted at him as I stormed by him. I went into the bowling alley and found a good lane and sat down in the chair. I could see Paul come up from behind me.
“Jenny? Who was that?”
“That? That would be Ryan’s brother, who could not get along with any of us at all, so he moved to the States. I cannot understand why he would choose to come back to visit here when there is no reason for him to be here.”
“Ryan has a brother?” Paul said in shock.
“Darn it, I wasn’t supposed to tell you guys because Ryan, Alanna and I do not consider him part of the family. Please, don’t mention it to him Paul,” I asked him.
“Jenny I’m so sorry, why are all of these ghosts getting dragged out of your past right now?”
“If I knew, I would tell you. Have Tony keep an eye on Finn while we’re here, please Paul. It would mean a lot to me,” I told him with a begging look in my eye.
“No problem, when the others get here I’ll go tell him,” he gave me a wink, “You know? You’re really cute when you’re worried.”
I gave an exasperated sigh, “Thanks, I think? Now here comes Keith, so go talk to Tony,” I shooed him out of the room as Keith came over to give me a hug.
After the fiasco when we arrived at the bowling alley, we had a wonderful time. Paul and Keith ended up tying for last place. Damian won, which was really great for him. Now he would have bragging rights for something for once. Alanna, Sarah and I didn’t too super well, but we did decently.
After the game, we headed back to Keith’s house. We said good-bye to Sarah when we were leaving, and we told her to come join us tomorrow doing who knows what. When we got back to the house, Tony said, “Paul, I need to talk to you about something.” I could see Paul give a questioning look as he followed Tony into the other room. I had no idea what was happening, but I had a feeling that it had something to do with me.
Paul followed Tony into the other room. “Dude, what’s up?” Paul asked with a questioning glance in his eyes.
Tony sighed. “I truly hate to do this to you, I mean we just got here. But after what happened today with Finn reappearing, and how Mike reappeared recently, and the things that have showed up at her house, I feel that we should move to a different house. I’m worried that she is going to be traced back to here soon. I’ve seen cases like this in the past, and they never end up well if you don’t keep moving. And the other thing is, everyone who was with us today is going to have to go, because since we all were seen with Jen today, they are now all at risk. And I really do not want Jen to know all of this either, things with her will get even rougher if she knows we are all at risk.”
“You have a good point. I really don’t want her to worry much, like I know that she will. Do you really think that Finn and Mike are connected in all of this?”
“I’m not too sure, but the reappearance of both of them in this short amount of time is very strange. I know my whole team would question it. We are going to need to be extra aware of things going on Paul. Do you think I should get any more protection on her?”
“Probably not Tony. You know how much she hates all of this, I think more would make things worse. I hope things are going well for Ryan and that they figure more things out soon. Any ideas on where we should go to keep her safe?”
“I’ve been waiting to hear from Ryan all night… I don’t know why he hasn’t called yet. And I’m thinking that we should try to go to your house if that works with you. The more towns we are in, the better.”
“That’s fine with me. How about I go tell the others before I tell Jen?” Paul said as Tony gave a nod. Just as Paul reached the door Tony’s phone began to ring. Paul looked at Tony as he said, “Stay, it’s Ryan.” Paul turned away from the door and sat down next to Tony.
“Put it on speaker,” Paul said.
“Hello?” Tony said as he picked up the phone.
“Tony!!” Tony and Paul heard an excited yell from the other side of the phone as Tony grimaced.
“Hey Abs, how are you?” Abby was the forensic specialist that he worked with.
“I’m doing great Tony! It’s great to talk to you again! How are you enjoying Derry?”
“It’s great, what’s up Abby?”
“Oh fine. So you know the pen that we had found before? Well there actually were some fingerprints on it! We did a trace and they came back as none other than Michael Walsh.”
Paul and Tony glanced at each other in shock.
“Paul, Tony, it’s me,” We heard Ryan’s voice come over the phone. “We need to find him, now. You two stay there, we’ll handle it from over here.”
“Were there any other prints, identified or not identified, that were on the pen?”
“Why do you ask?”
“Because Ryan, we came across Finn today,” Paul said as we could hear the tension over the phone. Thankfully Ryan had mentioned Finn to Tony and Paul before, so we knew what we were dealing with.
“Ryan, you still there?” Paul asked in concern.
“Yeah, I just wish I had been there so I could have beat him to a pulp…”
“There’s nothing you can do about it Ryan, just be on the lookout. It seems too much of a coincidence that they all have appeared around the same time that this began to happen again. Tony and I are going to move everyone to my house now, mainly because Finn showed up today. We don’t want to take any chances.”
“That’s probably the best idea. We’ll keep working here, and we’ll hopefully be able to find Michael soon. Call me when you get to your house,” Ryan said to us.
“Will do, take care of yourself,” Paul said to Ryan.
“You too, talk to you soon,” They said to each other as they hung up the phone. Paul sighed, “Now to go tell the others.”
Telling the others was very difficult. Paul could tell they were really worried about Jen and had no clue what needed to be done. We told them to go pack so we could be out of there by the next day. “Keith, can you call Sarah and tell her to pack and get over here within the next hour?” Paul said to him.
“No problem, anything to keep everyone safe,” Keith said as he rushed off to get the phone. Paul laughed and turned to Damian, “Boy is it nice seeing him in love right now.”
Damian just rolled his eyes and joined me in laughing. “You are crazy you know that Paul? One minute you are completely serious and the next you’re joking like there’s no tomorrow.”
“Well, what can I say?” Paul said with a laugh as he put his serious expression back on. “I should go tell Jen, I’ll talk to you soon Damian, go get packed,” Paul said as he walked off.
Paul reached the door to Jen’s room and knocked. “Jenny? Can I come in?” He asked quietly.
“Sure, it’s open come on in.” Paul walked into the room to see Jen lying on her bed. Her hair was all around her as she was lying on her back. She has music playing softly on the radio next to her. Listening, “She” was softly playing in the background. She was staring out the window, and it was obvious that something was wrong with her. “Jenny? What’s the matter?” Paul asked as he sat down on the bed next to her.
Sitting up, Jenny replied, “I hate this Paul. I hate having dragged you all into this mess. None of this should ever have happened.” That was not all that was wrong, but Paul did not want to pressure her into telling everything. Paul cradled her in his arms, trying to help give her some peace through that hug.
“I’m really sorry about this Jenny. But there is something I need to tell you. I just heard from Ryan, and they found a fingerprint on a pen that was outside of your house.”
“Really? Whose fingerprint?”
“You’re not going to like this, it was Michael’s…”
She sighed, “Why does that not surprise me? That jerk…” This was bad, she was hardly reacting. Paul hoped that she wasn’t shutting down, because that wouldn’t be good.
“One more thing, since we saw Finn today, there is a chance that he is working with Michael. We are going back to my house to lay low for a while. I’m really sorry that we are going to have to uproot you again, but we really need to keep you safe.”
“Do whatever, I’m fine.” With that statement it was easy to see that Jen was anything but fine. She was about to shut down, and we would need to try everything possible to get her out of that state.
“…it was Michael’s,” I heard Paul say as my brain began to run a mile a minute.
“…we are going back to my house…” None of these sentences were hitting me as hard as they should be. It didn’t feel real. None of this was right. Why was my past coming back to haunt me now? Was it because I was starting to fall in love? But with whom? If my brain made sense to anyone at that moment, I would be in shock.
“Jenny?” I heard Paul ask, as though through a fog. “Are you ok?” I leaned into him. I couldn’t talk. I didn’t want to deal with this. I felt a strange wetness on my cheek. Paul started to rock me back and forth as he sang along to “She.” He wiped the tear off of my cheek as he continued to sing. When he finished that one, he began to sing “You Raise Me Up,” the tears began to flow freely while he was singing it. His rendition was so beautiful, and he was helping me get through this rough time. When he finished, I looked up at him.
“Paul?” I said through my tears, “Thank you, for everything. Without you guys, I don’t know if I would have been able to deal with all of this.”
“We’re here for you Jenny, never forget that,” he told me as he leaned down and kissed me on the cheek.
“I know,” I whispered as I smiled up towards him. He hugged me tighter as I leaned my head onto his shoulder.
“Jenny? I hate to mention this again, but are you able to pack right now? Or would you like me to do it? We need to get going soon…”
I quickly got up, feeling guilty that Paul had offered to pack for me. I wasn’t that out of it, or at least I thought I wasn’t. I grabbed a suitcase out of my closet and started to throw things into it. “When are we leaving Paul?” I asked him as he was sitting on my bed watching me pack. “And you know, you could entertain me while I’m packing…”
He gave me a look and said, “Tomorrow morning, as soon as we can. Sorry, but it’s going to be early.”
“Ok… So would you mind singing for me while I pack?” I asked as he began to sing songs from Les Miserables. I smiled and continued to pack. Packing went fairly quickly and when I was done I threw myself back onto my bed. Paul gently placed his arm around me and I leaned back onto him. “So what exactly is the plan for tomorrow?” I asked him with concern leaving a lingering note over my tone.
“Tomorrow? Well to begin with, we’ll be leaving around 7 if at all possible. We’ll catch a flight out to Dublin for 8 and then get to my house. We’ll have plenty to do while we are there. If you’re in the mood for shopping Dublin’s the place for that!” He said with a smile, knowing how much I loved to shop. He began to sing his songs from the show, and I drifted off to sleep listening to his wonderful voice.
Paul woke me up the next morning at 6. “Really Paul?” I said to him, I couldn’t believe that I was getting up this early, because it was too early.
“Really Jenny. At least you’re all packed and don’t need to worry about that. Now come on downstairs and lets go get some breakfast!” He said as he grabbed my hand and dragged me downstairs. I almost fell down the stairs a few times because I was so tired. I walked into the kitchen, finally, and wiped the sand out of my eyes. I sat down at the table and put my head onto my arms, ready to fall back asleep. As I started to drift off to sleep I heard the others join me at the table and food was put in front of me. I was so tired that I didn’t even look up. The smell of the food soon reached me, so I sat up and saw everyone sitting around me, including Sarah.
“Guys? What are you all doing up at this early hour?” I asked groggily once I saw them and began to eat my breakfast of Ulster Frys.
I saw them glance at each other and Paul replied, “Well, since we have to leave. They decided that they would come with us because they felt they hadn’t spent enough time with us recently. And of course we had to drag Sarah to come…”
“Now Paul, dragging? I wanted to come!” She said with a laugh. We finished our breakfasts through much banter between the lads; out of the corner of my eye I could see Keith put his arm around Sarah. I smiled towards Alanna in happiness of what we had managed to start.
“Sure Sarah, sure,” he replied with a smirk. “So it’s about time to leave, is everyone ready?” We all nodded in agreement and picked up our bags to load them into the cars.
“Shotgun in Sarah’s car!” Keith shouted as soon as we got outside.
“But… I wanted shotgun…” Damian said quietly.
“But it’s my girlfriend!” Keith said happily as he plopped himself into the passenger seat of Sarah’s car.
I could see the crestfallen look on Damian’s face so I walked up to him and put my arm around him. “Well you know what Damian? Even though you don’t get shotgun, you, me and Paul will sit behind them and bother them to no end! How does that sound?”
Damian gave an evil smirk and began to silently plot his plans for the car ride. I turned to Alanna, “Do you mind going with Tony? I’m sure the two of you will have a grand time!”
“Not at all! Good luck with the craziness of them though,” she said with a laugh. We went our separate ways to the car and each got in. Somehow I ended up in between Paul and Damian, so I knew that this was going to be a crazy ride. First off, Damian was planning something, and I had no idea what it was, and secondly, I was very squished! I could hardly move either way, so I hoped that Damian’s plan was kind to me.
“Jen!” Damian whispered in my ear, “Can you do me a favor? Would you poke Keith in the ribs?” I gave him a funny look but complied. Keith jumped a mile out of his seat and squeaked, causing the three of us to burst out into laughter.
“…Keith? What was that?” Sarah asked from her seat as driver. “Or do I not want to know?” Instead of answering, Keith turned around to glare at the three of us.
“I don’t know which of you did that, but you all are going to get it later!” He said menacingly, but none of us could stop laughing. I could see Sarah just shaking her head while laughing slightly. Keith turned back around and the car ride continued. Sarah put on some music to get us to the airport, which was quite a ways away. Suddenly I felt a nudging in my ribs. I whispered, “What Damian?”
“I need you to tell Keith this… it will be really funny!”
“Oh dear…” I said shaking my head, “what is it?” He whispered to me. Hearing what he had to say I had to try to contain my laughter. “Ok fine, I’ll do it because I want to see his reaction.” A few minutes passed so I could try to compose myself before actually saying it.
“Hey Keith, I have something to ask you,” I said to him as I waited for him to turn around. As he did I said, in a very strange accent, “Hey cootie, what choo do tonight?” Keith looked at me with a very strange look as he turned around. The rest of the car started to laugh at him as I saw him sink down into his seat.
“Aw is Keith embarrassed?” I said with a laugh.
“Shush Jen,” he replied as the rest of us burst into laughter. We quickly arrived at the airport and Paul helped me out of the car. He was being a gentleman and carried my luggage for me, which was very kind of him. We entered into the airport only to receive a call on Paul’s phone…
“Hello?” We heard Paul answer. He glanced at me and walked off into the other direction. Seeing this I closed my eyes and sighed. I walked over to the nearest chair and sank into it, wondering what on earth could be wrong now. Keith came over and sat next to me to try to keep my company as the others sat across from me. A few minutes passes as I had my face in my hands. Paul walked over, but I didn’t see him. He tapped me on the shoulder, “Jenny? Will you look at me?” Reluctantly I glanced up at him, only to see a huge grin on his face.
“Paul, why are you smiling?” I asked dejectedly.
“Because I have wonderful news for you! They found Michael and Finn and have brought them in for questioning, I have a good feeling that we’ll be finding the bank robber very soon and you will be out of the woods!”
I opened my mouth in shock, “Really Paul? Are you kidding me?”
“Why would I kid you about that? Ryan should be on his way to my house within the next few days. He wants to wait to see whether or not they get more leads.”
Hearing this news I jumped up and latched myself onto Paul, the others soon joined in and we became a massive pile of people all hugging each other, none of us could believe what was happening. “Come on everyone, let’s get on the plane and we’ll be able to discuss this more in the air and at the house,” he told us as we walked through security and boarded the plane.
I settled into a seat between Keith and Alanna, ready to discuss my happiness regarding everything that has just occurred. “Alanna, can you believe it? After so many long years of wanting this day to come, I can’t believe it is actually here! I may be free to not have to worry about this within the next month!”
“Jenny it’s amazing! I’m so happy for you,” she leaned over to whisper to me, “now maybe you can actually get a romance started!”
I glared at her, “Alanna!” I shouted and hit her on the arm as the others looked at me. Ignoring them I added in a whisper, “Not around the lads! Please… I’m still not decided about anything…”
“Oh fine,” she replied, “I’ll talk about it with you tonight.” I gave her a look of appreciation. I settled back into my seat only to have Keith lean over towards me,
“So Jenny, what was that about?”
I glared at him, “Absolutely nothing Keith, ok?” Seeing my face he quickly nodded in agreement. He turned to talk to Sarah and the plane took off. After we had been in the air a short time I got out of my seat to go and talk to Paul.
“Paul, I can’t thank you enough for that wonderful news…” I sat down in the seat next to him.
“Jenny, it was my pleasure, but just remember the actual robber has not been caught yet.”
“I know Paul, I know… but just feeling this much of a relief is wondrous. I honestly never thought this day would come.” Subconsciously I pulled my sweatshirt tighter around me.
Paul gave me a questioning look, “Jenny you’re acting like something is wrong. Calm down…”
“What?” I asked with shock covering my expression, I had been staring off into space at the back of a guy’s head, thinking it looked somewhat familiar. I shook this feeling off and turned back to Paul, “No, nothing’s wrong that I know of. I don’t know why, but I feel like something bad is looming on the horizon, even after this wonderful news.” Leaning my head onto Paul’s shoulder I closed my eyes and sighed. “Am I never going to escape the feeling of thinking something is wrong Paul?”
“Oh Jen… I’m sure once the news sinks in things will begin to become better. Just relax and why don’t you try to sleep for a bit. I’m sure you’re sleeping schedule has been very messed up over the past few weeks.” I smiled and proceeded to do what Paul suggested.
After what felt like only a few minutes, I woke up to find the plane was going to be landing soon. I didn’t want to get up so I snuggled against Paul again. I could feel him laughing but I didn’t care. “Jenny, you need to get up, we’re going to be landing soon.”
“Oh fine Paul,” I said, lifting my head off of his shoulder. As I glanced in front of me I could still see that face, but I had no idea where I knew it from. Deciding to ignore it, I settled in for the landing, happy to almost be in Dublin.
As we were exiting the plane, I felt as though there were eyes following my every move. I moved closer to Paul, thinking that was the best thing to do. Little did I realize was that Paul and I were walking in the back and Tony was far in front of us. Shaking off this feeling of dread I continued to walk. Paul’s phone rang and he answered. He listened intently and closed the phone rapidly, “Jenny, we have to move. Come on!” He said as he grabbed my arm. I saw Paul’s eyes light up with surprise, and a little tint of fear as I felt another arm on mine.
“Oh I don’t think that’s a wise idea,” an evil sounding voice came from behind me.

Turning around slowly I saw the man from the plane, then I realized who it actually was and I felt like an idiot that I hadn’t recognized him at the start. “Now I think you need to come with me Jen, and these fools can stay here.” “Why do you think I’m going anywhere with you?” I said with a death glare on my face. “Because you need to if you want you and your friends want to live, I can’t let my name and face get out as being the bank robber,” he said with an evil smirk. I looked worriedly at Paul, wondering how on earth we would get the attention of the others, mainly Tony. “Dude, we can work something out, I’m sure of that,” Paul said, not letting his hand release mine. “Working something out is not on my list of priorities. Now come on Miss Jen.” He started to pull me away, as he did, I screamed. He tried to clamp my mouth shut, but it was too late. Tony had heard and came running towards us as Paul tackled him to the ground. While on the ground Tony arrested him as I began to cry. Keith and Damian came up from behind me as Paul and Tony lead him to security. They put me in a death grip as I just cried. As I was being rocked back and forth they said calming things to help calm my nerves of what had just happened. My sobbing slowly subsided as I said, “Guys, I’m ok.” I got up and walked to a window and put my arms on the windowsill. After a few minutes, Paul approached me from behind. “Jenny?” He asked questioningly. “Are you ok?” I closed my eyes, not sure if I should discuss this or not. Finally I replied, “I think so Paul… I think so.” He put his arm around me and gently led me out of the airport and to the car. We drove to Paul’s house in silence, which was strange, considering the bank robber had just been captured. You would have thought this to be a happy experience, but after what he almost did to me again, I was in shock. The others led me into the house and had me sit down on the sofa. “I’ll get you a drink Jen,” Paul said, as Keith got up to follow him. Alanna and Sarah were in the other room talking, and Tony had taken him to the police and he wasn’t back yet. I was left alone with Damian, and strangely enough, I longed to hear Ryan’s voice. “Jenny?” I heard Damian’s voice speaking quietly. “How are you doing?” he asked me as he came over and gave me a bear hug. I let out a small smile, “Better now, thanks Damian. You’re a great friend.” He looked at me in confusion, “How am I a great friend? I just gave you a hug…?” “Because you let me sit here in silence for a few minutes to gather my thoughts. You didn’t press me for information that I wasn’t sure about. It means a lot.” “Well, you’re welcome then! You in the mood for ice cream? Or some sort of prank?” He asked with a mischievous grin on his face. “Sure Damian, why not?” I asked as he settled into his plotting mode. Keith and Paul quickly came back into the room with tea for me to drink. “Thanks guys. For everything. How about a movie?” I told them. They smirked at each other. “Sure why not? What are you in the mood for?” “How ‘bout Pirates?” I asked in happiness. They nodded and put the movie into the player. We watched the movie in contentment, I was finally allowing my body to decompress and relax after everything that had happened, it felt wonderful. Slowly I felt myself drifting off to sleep, secretly hoping that I would not be plagued by horrible dreams that night. I felt myself being lifted up but I didn’t bother to open my eyes. When I felt myself being placed onto a bed, I finally opened my eyes and saw Paul’s smiling face above mine. “I think we’re going to be ok Jenny. Don’t worry about anything now, just sleep.” I mumbled from the bed, “Thanks Paul.” He stroked my head and grabbed my hand. “Will you be ok for the night Jen?” “I think so…” Hearing my voice he smiled, but grabbed a chair and placed it next to my bed. “I’ll stay here until you go to sleep. G’night Jen.” “Good night Paul.” I slowly drifted off to sleep, and was surprised to not be haunted by many bad dreams that night. In the middle of the night I woke up to see Paul sitting awake next to my bed. “Hey Jenny, are you doing ok?” “Yeah, some bad dreams, but nothing too bad. Where are the others?” “Well Keith and Sarah went for a walk awhile ago, and Alanna went to bed I believe. Damian, who knows where he is. Probably on the phone with someone,” Paul reached for the phone and picked it up, listening to see if anyone was on the line. “Ha what did I tell you? He’s on the phone.” I started to laugh silently as he grinned. “Good call Paul,” I said through a yawn. “Jenny you should go back to sleep, I can see you’re tired.” “No, I may be tired, but I don’t think I’ll be able to sleep right now.” I sighed. “Do you mind?” Paul asked, gesturing to where I was. “Not at all,” he sat at the foot of my bed so it would be easier to talk. “So how does it feel Jen? He’s going to be locked up pretty darn soon, and you’ll never have to worry about this again.” “Honestly, it feels weird. Weird but great. Knowing that I’ll never have to be running lifts a huge weight off of my shoulders. I can’t express how happy I am about that.” “I’m very glad about that Jen. And I’m even happier that I was able to help you out through this awful time for you. Too many demons in your past have come up recently…” “It truly means a lot Paul. Thank you so much.” “I do have a question for you though… Would you care to join me for a night on the town tomorrow,” he glanced at the clock, “or should I say tonight? Around 7?” “Sure Paul, it sounds like it would be marvelous. Will the others be joining us?” “Well I figured it would just be us…” he replied nervously. “Sounds great!” I said. “Well now that that’s settled, go to sleep so you can be prepared for tonight,” He said with a smirk. “You should too Paul.” I told him. “I’ll be fine, I’ll just sleep on the floor tonight in case you need me,” He said generously. “And don’t try to stop me,” I smiled as he went into the other room to get pillows and blankets to make his bed. As I was drifting off to sleep I realized what I had just agreed too. I had no clue what my feelings actually were between Ryan and Paul, but I just agreed to a date with Paul! I could only silently hope that Ryan didn’t think much of this, but then again, why did I care what Ryan thought about us? Unless I really liked Ryan? My mind was running in circles. I had no clue what to feel. After a little while I glanced down to where Paul was sleeping, and my, did he look adorable. But my mind quickly wandered back to the last time I had had these dreams plaguing me and how much help Ryan was. Oh what should I feel? I was going to need to talk to Alanna and Sarah, but who knew when that would actually happen! Based on the schedules that we’ve all had, it seemed as though there would be no time. Sighing I put music on quietly, trying not to wake Paul. Hearing the music calmed my nerves, until “She” came on. I closed my eyes listening to the music. As soon as that ended, “Heartbreaker” came on. Maybe these two songs playing in a row was a sign to me. I figured that I should at least try the date with Paul tomorrow to see where it led. Maybe I would finally get some insight on my problem. When I woke up that morning, I glanced at the floor to see Paul’s “bed” empty. I stretched and suddenly my phone began to ring. Groggily I reached over and answered it. “Hello?” “Jenny!!! How does it feel to finally be free?” Ryan stressed free, and how on earth could he be awake this early? I laughed, “Hey Ryan. And it hasn’t sunk in just yet… But oh well, what’s new with you?” “Went to the pub last night with McGee. Remember Leah? Well we saw her, and exchanged numbers again. I think we might be going out tonight!” Great… I guess what I was thinking was true. He is a heartbreaker, and always will be… “Yeah, she’s from grade school right? Congrats Ryan!” I tried to muster up as much happiness for him as I could, but it was difficult… Why oh why did this feeling of jealousy have to muster? “Well I wanted to see how you were doing, I can’t wait to see you again, especially now that we can go do things since you don’t have to worry about this creep.” “Sounds great Ryan. I hope you have fun on your date tonight…” I trailed off. He paused. “Well, it’s not exactly a date Jen…” I’m glad he couldn’t see my face right now, because I had no clue as to why this was bothering me so much. “Knock, knock!” I heard Alanna say from outside. I covered the phone, “Hold on Ryan, Alanna I’ll be there in a minute!” Uncovering the phone I told Ryan, “Sorry but I have to go. Have a good time tonight, and say hi to Eric for me.” “Will do Jen. Have a great day!” I smiled sadly and hung up. But then I realized now I could talk to Alanna and Sarah about this, that is if I could drag Sarah away from Keith. That thought made me laugh. It seemed like just yesterday that I had never met Sarah before… I opened the door and gestured Alanna into the room. “Jenny! You’re first full day of being free! How does it feel?” Alanna said as she gave me a hug, knocking me on the floor. Getting up I brushed myself off, “I love how everyone is asking me this. Well it’s great in one aspect, but there’s other stuff going on that I don’t know how to deal with. How about this, we eat breakfast and then get Sarah in here so I can talk to you both.” She nodded, grabbed my arm and dragged me off to the kitchen. I greeted everyone who was there, which was Paul and Damian. “Do either of you know where Sarah and Keith are?” They shook their heads, but we decided to eat anyways. When we finished breakfast, Alanna and I excused ourselves to go and find Keith and Sarah. After a few minutes of looking around, we figured we should just call them because they were most likely surfing. As soon as I tried Sarah’s number it went to voicemail so I left a message, “Hey Sarah, it’s Jen and Alanna. We need to talk to you when you get back, so please come over to my room, we’ll be waiting there.” I hung up as the two of us sat down in my room. “So Jen, should we wait until Sarah gets here, or do you just want to spill?” “Um… considering we know Keith and his habit of being late everywhere, I think I’ll just tell you now… So you remember when this whole thing started and Ryan was there for me for major comfort? Well he’s always been a heartbreaker, and I’m not sure how I feel about him yet… And last night, Paul asked me to join him for a “night on the town,” and I said yes. And since I wasn’t sure whether or not I wanted to be alone last night, he stayed on the floor in my room so I wouldn’t be alone. And then Ryan called this morning saying that he had a date, and I felt really jealous. Gosh Alanna, I don’t know what to feel…” I could see the look of shock on Alanna’s face, finally she mustered, “Wow Jen… Um…” she fell silent. After a few minutes of mulling the thoughts over in her mind she said, “Well I must say, both will be a great catch,” as she was saying this I thought I saw a look of longing cross her face, but I tried to write it out of my mind. “Why don’t you try the date with Paul tonight and see how that goes? And then you’ll be able to talk to Ryan after his “date” and maybe that will help you…” The door to my room burst open, “Sorry girls! What happened?” I quickly relayed the story to Sarah to see what her input would be. Putting her finger to her head she began to say, “Well, why don’t you see what happens tonight? After that’s over you can decide. I’m sure you’ve spent lots of time with Ryan, so try tonight with Paul!” I giggled, “Well since you’ve both said the same thing basically, I’ll try tonight and talk to Ryan tomorrow. Thank you! Now do you girls want to help me get ready?” “It’s 4 o’clock!! We need to get going! What are you going to wear?” Alanna shouted. “I’m going out with Keith tonight too! I need your help too!” Sarah told us. “Well, we can easily get the two of us ready for tonight! Let’s get going!” I said to them as we started rushing around my room trying to get ready. Before we knew it, 7 o’clock rolled around and a knock came at my door. Opening the door, we were shocked to only see Keith there. “Keith? You’re on time?” I said to in jokingly. He glared. “Yes I am. Now Paul on the other hand…” I rolled my eyes as he offered Sarah his arm. “My Sarah, you look gorgeous,” he said, kissing her hand. She let out a giggle. For Sarah we found a long pink dress that had sequins on the top and running diagonally along the side. It was quite beautiful. For her hair we had pinned half of it up and curled the bottom half. She did look gorgeous, and we knew it would be perfect for the night that Keith had planned for her. “Bye Sarah, bye Keith! Have a great time!” Alanna and I said as Keith and Sarah walked downstairs towards the car that he was borrowing from Paul. “So that was strange,” commented Alanna, “Paul’s late, but Keith was on time? I think that will need to go down in the record books!” Slapping Alanna I started to giggle. “Oh shush girl, at least now I have something to bother Paul with! Are you sure you’ll be alright here tonight?” “Yeah! Damian and I were planning on having a great time tonight… we’ve already got stuff planned so don’t worry about us!” She said with a grin. I gave her a strange look as we heard another knock on my door. Getting up I went to answer the door. “My, my, my, don’t you look beautiful tonight,” Paul said as he glanced at my outfit. Blushing, I replied, “Thanks, you look quite good yourself too.” I was dressed in a knee-length white dress covered in blue flowers. My hair was all pinned up in curls and it looked really good. I had no clue what we were going to be doing tonight, but I hoped that I would look presentable for wherever we ended up going. Bowing, he said, “Well m’lady, can I escort you to the car?” Curtsying I took his offered arm as he led me downstairs and to his car. Glancing back towards Alanna I smiled as I saw her quickly walk out of my room. “So Paul,” I said as we sat down in the car, “Where might you be taking me tonight?” With a hint of a smile he replied, “Well to begin with, we’re going to the Boulevard Café for dinner. After that, it’s a surprise.” Rolling my eyes I settled into the seat and let him drive me to our destination. We pulled up outside a very fancy looking restaurant. “No Paul, you can’t do this… I feel too guilty if this is really expensive…” I trailed off as he glanced at me. “Jen, I’m doing this because I want to, so don’t even bother arguing, ok?” I nodded in agreement as he opened my door for me and walked inside with me. Paul walked up to the hostess and said, “Reservation under Byrom.” “Right this way sir,” the hostess led us to our table. Sitting down I noticed our table was right next to the window, and we could see the sun slowly beginning to set. “Wow Paul,” I said in awe, “This is gorgeous, you really didn’t have to do this for me…” “It is gorgeous,” he replied as he glanced at me and then back to what lay beyond the glass. We ordered our meals and they arrived quickly. “This food is amazing!” I told Paul as we began to eat. He chuckled and said, “Yeah, this has always been one of my favorite restaurants. I figured you might enjoy it.” We continued to eat our meal and we talked throughout the whole thing. It was great actually being out on a date again. I felt like I hadn’t been on a date since before the thing with the bank robber began, but I knew that wasn’t true. Tonight was a wonderful relaxing night. We finished our meal fairly quickly but didn’t bother to ask for the check. After about an hour and a half at the restaurant we got the check and decided to continue on our way for the night. “So Jen,” Paul said when we got back to the car, “You’re choice, go to a movie, or go somewhere to dance.” He waggled his eyebrows, causing me to laugh. “Um… a movie sounds good, even though we’re really dressed up for one. What do you have in mind?” “How does Taken sound?” I smiled; I had been wanting to see that. “It sounds great,” I replied enthusiastically. “Well then let’s go!” He said and started the car. We arrived at the theater and bought our tickets. Happily entering the theater we sat towards the back so it was easier to view the movie. As the movie began, I was shocked at how action filled it was, but I must say it was quite good. I had my arm resting on the armrest, as did Paul. At one point I got extremely scared at the movie and grabbed his hand without thinking. He smiled when this happened, although I didn’t see him smile. After that point, I became so enthralled in the movie that I forgot to release his hand. After about fifteen minutes he interlaced our fingers and we continued to watch the movie. Before I knew it, the movie was over. It had been amazing. “Thank you for bringing me to see it Paul. I had a great time,” I said as I stood up, just realizing that I had held his hand for almost the duration of the movie. “I’m glad you wanted to see it too, I had a great time. Now, I have one more thing planned,” he said as he escorted me back to the car. “Oh?” I questioned as he just smiled at me. We drove for about 10 minutes until we reached a moonlit pond. “Paul it’s… beautiful.” I stammered. The moon was full and it was reflecting on the ponds surface. There were trees all around and a few benches scattered around the edge. “I figured you might enjoy it. You want to go for a walk?” He asked and offered me his arm. I gracefully accepted and we began to stroll around the pond. When we got to the middle of the path, right near where the moon was shining down on the pond he stopped. “Can I ask you something Jenny?” I nodded, encouraging him to continue. “Well, since all of this stuff has died down now, I was wondering…” he stammered, trying to muster up words. “Will you be my girlfriend?” He finally managed to say. I smiled, at the moment my heart was with Paul. “Yes Paul, I will.” He quickly picked me up and spun me around. “I have liked you for a while now Jen, thank you for saying yes!” Taking my hand we continued our walk and arrived back at the car. We drove back to his house in pure happiness, with each of us gushing about how happy we both were at the moment. Arriving back at his house he escorted me to my room, where he kissed my cheek. “Good night Jen, sleep well!” He winked, and turned away. I shut my door and texted Sarah and Alanna to come in here as soon as they could because I needed to talk to them. I set my phone down as I changed into my pajamas waiting for them. Suddenly I heard my phone go off. Picking it up I saw that I had a new text message. I opened it and quickly read. “Well, that was great… my date completely fell through. Can’t wait to see you next and just wanted to let you know what happened… I’ll tell you more about it next time we talk.” –Ryan. Shoot, I thought to myself. Ryan. What on earth did I just get myself into? As soon as I read the text my feelings for him came back and now I had absolutely no idea what to do about the situation I just set myself in. Sure I was dating Paul now, but I felt bad because I wasn’t sure if there would always be feelings for Ryan there. Sarah and Alanna quickly burst into my room and saw the look of confusion on my face. To answer their questions I said, “Well… I think I just might have messed up everything… Paul asked me out, and I think I might still have feelings for Ryan.” I said and saw the two completely different expressions on their faces. A/N: Well i think that was all I had posted on the forum... so the next few posts will be the end of the story Then i'll start posting my new one! Let me know what you all think!!!

First post that I think you all haven't read yet... let me know how it is!!! I could see Alanna’s face fall, and Sarah’s brighten. “That’s amazing that Paul asked you our Jen! What did you say?” Sarah exclaimed. “Congrats Jen,” Alanna told me. “Well…” I began. “I told him yes, but now I’m not so sure… I need your help girls, please.” “I’ll be right back,” Alanna said as she headed towards the door. “Don’t you dare talk to Paul about any of this!” Jen shouted as Alanna was leaving. “I won’t!” She quickly ran downstairs to the kitchen and grabbed as much chocolate as possible, knowing it would help. Re-entering the room, Sarah and Jen exclaimed, “You are a lifesaver,” as they dug into the chocolate. After devouring all the chocolate I glanced at Sarah and Alanna to try to read their thoughts about what was going on. Sarah looked ecstatic, but it looked like something was slightly bothering Alanna. “Alanna? You ok? Something looks as though it’s bothering you…” “What?” She glanced at me, “No, I’m fine. Happy for the two of you.” “So what do you think you are going to do regarding Paul and Ryan?” Sarah asked me after a few minutes passed. I sighed. “Wait it out would be my best guess. I was wondering what you two thought I should do. I mean, Ryan’s not going to be around for a few days, so that might be a good thing. I’ll have to see what happens when he does come back though.” “That’s probably the best,” Alanna said as Sarah shook her head in agreement. The two girls slept in my room that night and we had a wonderful time. It was hard to believe that we had just met Sarah not that long ago, but she quickly became such a wonderful friend to both of us. Yes it's short, but there's not much left... please tell me what you think!!

I am really enjoying this, which is evident in the fact that I am typing up this response when I'll be getting up for work in about 5 hours, rather than being fast asleep in bed. Really, I love it, and I can't wait to read more. You've got her stuck between my 2 favourite lads, and I can totally relate. Hope to read more soon!

The next day I stumbled out of my room with the other girls. We quickly ate breakfast and were shocked to not find the lads around anywhere. When I went back into my room I found a note from Paul telling me to meet him out behind his house.
I wandered into the backyard searching for him. I had no clue where he might be, so I was looking everywhere. Boy was his backyard gorgeous. His landscaping was beautiful and he had a pool that was so blue it looked like you were in the Caribbean. I could see someone standing over on the opposite side of the pool, so I made my way over there.
“Hey Paul,” I said as I approached him.
“Jenny!” He exclaimed and gave me a hug. I smiled back into his shirt and hugged him back. “So I was wondering if you wanted to join me for a bike ride or kayaking or something?”
I shrugged, “Sure? Why not?” He quickly offered me his arm and we walked back into the house.
“I haven’t been kayaking if such a long time, do you feel up to that?” He asked me.
“I’ve never been before… but it’s always sounded fun!” He smirked and replied
“We’ll grab your bathing suit and meet me down here in a few minutes.” We parted ways to retrieve our bathing suits and as I was walking upstairs I happened to see Damian.
“Hey Jen! Where are you off to?”
“Paul and I were going to go kayaking, what are you up to?”
“Really? That’s what I was heading to do! I told Alanna, Sarah, and Keith about it and they were coming with me.” He told me excitedly.
“Wow Damian, sounds like we’re going to have a brilliant time!” I told him and continued my way into my room, thinking that this was going to be an interesting date.
Paul and I met up downstairs in the kitchen ready to leave. Damian quickly appeared in the kitchen in his bathing suit and Paul gave him a dumbstruck look.
“Where are you going Damian?” He asked questioningly.
“Kayaking of course!” I could see Paul trying to make sense of what was going on.
“But Jen and I were going…”
“And the rest of us made plans to go before we knew you guys were going…”
“Ah. Ok.” He replied and escorted me out of the kitchen. I gave Damian an apologetic look, but had no idea if he received it. “Sorry that’s happening Jen, I thought it was just going to be the two of us. But we’ll have a wonderful time anyways!”
“That we will Paul, that we will.” I replied happily. The car ride was quick but enjoyable. We arrived at the ocean ready to unload the kayak. We quickly climbed in and Paul gave me a quick rundown on what I needed to do. I nodded and we began to paddle. As we were kayaking we saw many different animals and had a wonderful time. I could not believe how much fun kayaking was, it felt very free, not to mention that the view was beautiful. “Have you ever gone out at sunset or sunrise Paul?”
“Yeah, it’s truly gorgeous out here when you go. I’ll have to take you soon. And would you look at that? We did not see any of the others the whole time!” I could tell he was extremely happy about that and as we pulled back into the dock, we could see the others from a distance so we decided to wait for them to come in. All of a sudden all we could see was a kayak flipping upside down. Smacking my head I quickly asked, “What are we going to do Paul?” He squinted and started to laugh.
“Not worry about it at all. It was Keith and you know him and water!” I joined his laughter as we watched the other boat look around frantically. They signaled towards us but we were doubled over in laughter. We quickly saw two head pop out of the water, one blonde and one brown. The brown haired one, most presumably Sarah, shoved Keith and tried to dunk him. Keith just avoided her and swam towards to boat to turn it back over. The wind began to carry their voices over towards us.
“Keith! What was that for?” We heard Sarah’s voice ask.
“It was all Damian’s idea! Don’t blame me!” He held up his arms in innocence as she quickly rounded on Damian.
“What?” He said. “Keith liked the idea! He didn’t have to go through with it!”
“Guys, just get back in the kayak and lets head to land…” Alanna said as the others continued to argue about what just happened. Sarah and Keith quickly got back into their kayak and came to shore. Paul put his arm around me and we waited for them to arrive back here.
“Thanks for your help back there…” Sarah mumbled as she got out of the kayak.
“Aww honey you know you love me.” Keith said to her as he leaned down and kissed her.
She smiled, “Yeah, that I do Keith.”
“Well at least you weren’t stuck with Damian here in the kayak! He had so much fun trying to flip it over, but thankfully he didn’t.”
Paul and I just smiled at each other and helped them bring the equipment in. We walked back to our cars and decided that we wanted to head out to eat. All too soon, my phone was ringing, and of course, it was Ryan.
Ok, weird thing is, I wrote this BEFORE the canoeing experience... or tragedy, depends on how you look at it... is that strange or what?!?!?!?! So please let me know what you think!!!!

Slowly I glanced at Paul, not knowing what to do. I finally picked it up and said, “Hey Ryan! How are you doing?” “Pretty good Jen, and yourself?” “Quite good. We went kayaking today… it was, for lack of a better word, interesting.” “Interesting?” I could tell he had an eyebrow raised as he said this. “Care to enlighten me?” Shoot, how on earth was I supposed to explain this without telling him that Paul and I were now dating? “Well to begin with, Keith decided to tip the kayak over causing him and Sarah to get extremely wet. But aside of that it was fine.” We fell silent for a few minutes, me not wanting to tell him about Paul and I, and him, wondering if he should ask me a question. “Hey Jen, I was thinking… Are you busy in a few weeks?” “Um… like when?” I asked. “In three weeks? For about three weeks?” “For three weeks? Um, what do you have in mind Ryan?” “Well… I was wondering if you would consider going to the States with me just to visit and enjoy?” Oh geez… he was too cute when he was like this, but boy did this open my eyes. I had been longing to go to the States for the longest time, and here was my chance! The only problem was what Paul would say… For now I answered, “Gosh Ryan… I’ve been dreaming of doing this for a long time! I think I’ll be free, but I’ll have to check my calendar, can I get back to you about it?” “But of course m’dear! I’m booking two tickets anyway, but I really do hope that you’ll be the one to come with me.” Silently, I added to myself, ‘I hope so too Ryan…’ “Bye Ryan, talk to you soon!” I said, hanging up. Paul sidled over to me and asked, “What’ sup Jen?” “Oh nothing Paul, Ryan calling just to say hi.” “Did you tell him the news yet?” “No, I figured you did, though he didn’t mention anything about it.” “I haven’t yet… but I probably will tonight,” he smirked and gave me a kiss on the forehead. A week passed, Paul told Ryan about us, though during this week, Paul and I both did not seem as interested in each other as we were the first day. I still hadn’t mentioned to him about going to see the States with Ryan, but I wasn’t sure I was going to. Why? I’m not sure. All of a sudden there was a knock at the door, I opened it to see Ryan. “Ryan!” I gasped in shock, “What are you doing here? I didn’t think you were coming back yet!” “Hi Jen! I’m doing great! And yes, I was coming here today! I told Paul, but apparently he didn’t tell you guys… Strange. Oh well. How are you?” “Me? I’m great! It’s wonderful to see you again Ryan!” I told him as I gave him a hug, a strange feeling came over me, but I tried to ignore it. We sat down on the chairs in the living room and started talking like nothing has happened. “So two questions for you Jen, do you know about the States yet?” “Not yet… still working on it… I should have an answer really soon though. What’s the second question?” “What’s up with you and Paul? If you don’t mind my asking…” “Oh,” I stammered, “No, I don’t mind you’re asking. As of right now we’re going out, but I’m not sure whether or not I feel more friendly towards him than romantic… but please, don’t tell him I said that.” “Wow Jenny… don’t worry I won’t mention it.” I could see a far off look in his eyes as he said this, but he pulled me into a hug before I could figure out what the look was. “Where are the others?” He asked. “Well, Paul’s upstairs, and Keith, Sarah, Alanna, and Damian went out somewhere… maybe surfing? I’m not too sure. I was in bed when they left.” “Jen… I have a question for you… And don’t take offense to this or look differently at me, please.” “How could I ever do that Ryan? You’re the best friend I’ve ever had!” He grinned when I told him that. “Well Jen, I was wondering, if you weren’t dating Paul, and if I stopped being a heartbreaker, would you consider going out with me?” My eyes opened in shock, was this what I had been longing for? It seemed right, I nodded, and I noticed our faces getting closer and closer, and suddenly our lips met. After a minute we broke apart, both grinning like crazy, until Ryan glanced over my shoulder to see Paul standing there. His eyes opened in shock, but Paul began, “ Woman, such a delicate creature, ev’ry feature needs to be loved from the start. Be tender, and she’ll surrender, offend her and she will harden her heart.”Standing up, Ryan glared at Paul, I could see how much Ryan did like me as he began here, “A delicate creature is something she ain’t, better take it from me that’s a woman. That isn’t an angel, that isn’t a saint, better take it from me that’s a woman. She knows how to please and she knows how to play, take it from me, that’s a woman! Forget ‘to honor, love and obey’, she’ll take you and break you, and throw you away, that’s a woman, that’s a woman!” Walking around Paul he started giving him the evil eye. Glancing at me in the background he saw my eyes wide open, in awe that the two of them were fighting over me like this. Getting up I tried to stop them fighting, but somehow I ended up in the middle of the fighting, going back and forth between the two of them. “She knows every move and she knows every trick, take it from me, that’s a woman! How to kill with a word, and cut to the quick, take it from me that’s a woman! How to look through you as if you’re not there, take it from me, that’s a woman! How to say no with a flick of her hair, she’ll turn you, and burn you, and not even care, that’s a woman, that’s a woman,” he trailed off as he sang this, all the while staring at me standing and dancing with Paul. I saw Ryan staring at me, so I began to move towards him once more, but then Paul began, “Faithful and true, that’s a woman, trusting in you, that’s a woman. Gentle and constantly caring, strong, as the love she is sharing. When you look in the eyes of a woman,”But Ryan quickly interrupted him, leaving me standing in the middle of them, “Look in her eyes, you’ll see nothing but lies, she’s a woman!”Paul quickly interjected, “And through the disguise of a woman.”“Ev’ry one is the same, she’s just playing a game, she’s a woman!” Came from Ryan. Now I was wondering, should I stay with Paul? Or was this not actually Ryan’s viewpoint? Based on what he just told me before our kiss, I think he actually does care for me, and that there might be a chance for us. “You’ll see it all there, there’s romance in the air,” That was true, I must say. They both quickly joined in singing, “Nothing else can compare, that’s a woman.” As the instrumental part began, Paul and I kissed briefly, although I did not feel the same spark I had felt with Ryan. “Woman, so soft and beguiling, see her smiling, and feel her heart, all aglow, enfold her, lay her head on your shoulder, and hold her, til you just can’t let her go.” Paul sang, as though he was already missing me, this felt too odd, two of my best friends fighting over, me? Ryan quickly came back in, “Treat her as if you just don’t give a dang, that’s how to handle a woman! Be more of a stallion, less of a lamb, that’s how to handle a woman!” During this point, I was dancing with Paul, thinking I would be with him, Ryan continued, “ Keep her hanging around til she’s ready to burst that’s how to handle a woman! Don’t try to be bad, be the worst, do unto others but just do it first to a woman, to a woman! Be wise be wary and be on your guard, that’s how to handle a woman! If you feel that you’re falling you better be hard coz that’s what I call a woman! Don’t let her get closer and don’t let her in, that’s how to handle a woman ‘coz if you allow her to get under your skin, my friend that’s the end ‘coz you ain’t gonna win with a woman, with a woman!” As soon as Ryan finished singing that, I knew what it meant as I tap danced the part that needed to be done, thank goodness Zara had taught me how! “Look at her body and look at her move, now that’s what I call a woman!” I continued to tap dance, as I felt both Paul and Ryan’s eyes on me. “ I’m thinking now I’ve got something to prove, coz that’s what I call a woman!” I finished my tap dance portion and Ryan moved towards me, singing, “All my moves are stalling here, I can’t get through to this woman! The pipes, the pipes are falling here, I think I could be falling here, for this woman, what a woman!” We began dancing as Paul began again, “Faithful and true, that’s a woman,” As Ryan interjected, “She couldn’t be true, she’s just playing with you, what a woman!” Paul began again, “ Trusting in you, that’s a woman,” “Trusting in who? You just haven’t a clue! What a woman!” Came from Ryan and Paul sang, “gentle and constantly caring,”“Just let it be, this one’s for me! What a woman!” Ryan sang with a wink towards me, “strong as the love she is sharing.” Sang Paul alone one last time. The two began their duet, “When you look in the eyes of a woman, and through the disguise of a woman, you’ll see it all there, there’s romance in the air, nothing else, can compare, what a wo-”“Who would have thought, I’d ever get caught?” Came from Ryan, as he was holding me. The two shouted “What a woman!” I ended up in Ryan’s arms, who would have thought that I would end with him, my best friend, from the start? I glanced at Paul, seeing him look slightly upset. “Paul,” I began, “I’m sorry… but I don’t think it will work out. Can we still be friends?” He smiled, “You know Jen? I was thinking things would be better off as friends anyways! So of course!” I couldn’t tell if that smile was real or fake, but I knew now, I was going to be happy with Ryan, I just had to ask him, “Ryan?” “Hmmm?” he asked with his face buried in my hair. “Promise me one thing, please, don’t be a heartbreaker. I’ll never forgive you if you do that to me. It hurt so much the time we were at the pub with Keith.” “I promise you that Jenny,” he told me, sealing his promise with a kiss. In the background, we could faintly hear Paul singing “She” and then morphing into “You Raise Me Up.” But thankfully, I knew from that day on, I would be perfectly happy in the arms of Ryan Kelly, my dear friend, and now boyfriend, Ryan John Kelly. A/N: Please don't hurt me with who Jen ended up with, that was my plan from the beginning Thank you so much for sticking with me through this! It's finally done, I can't believe it! Please, any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!!!! New story will be up in a few days, focusing on Keith!
