i am on my computer... here is the rest of run... well all the stuff i had written before kamp
She heard footsteps coming up behind her behind the fence. She stood up and started to run again. She came to the side of the red brick house, and curled up again. It was late. A dog started barking. She fell asleep. She was woken up by a mysterious figure it was dark, She could not see him. He walked Emily inside. "Mum, we have a little visitor, mind if she stays for a while." His mom came down, and saw the horrible shape Emily was in. "Of course not. We will let her lie on the couch." He never left Emily's side. Emily woke up that morning on the couch. At her feet she got a clear view of the guy who helped her last night. She quickly got off the couch, and went into the kitchen. Where she sat at the table. Then the man came in. "What were you doing out their last night las." "Oh umm, well... I am not supposed to talk to strangers." "My name is Keith, now I am not a stranger." Keith went to the refrigerator got out a cup of yogurt and milk. He opened a drawer and grabbed a spoon. He closed the drawer and opened a cupboard where he grabbed a cup. He poured her a glass of milk. He put the milk up. He opened the yogurt, and put the spoon in. He turned to the table, and handed the glass and yogurt to Emily. "So what were yo doing out their." "Well," She said while taking a bite out of the yogurt, "I was going out for a run, and I got lost." She lied. "What's your name." "I am Emily." She answered. "You are probably wondering my age, I am eighteen." "Well you are very smart." Keith said. Emily had finished the yogurt, and drank the glass of milk. "You have been very kind, thank you, but I need to go." She started to leave. "Wait," Keith called out, "Do you want me to take you home" "No." Emily said coldly. She headed out the door. Keith rolled his eyes, and headed towards his room.
It was to days, after Patrick had come back to Ireland. Keith was sad, he had gotten over Michelle, but he was missing something. He put on a pair of jeans, and a pair of blue and black vans. He put on a red and black checker board looking flannel. Their was a new pub nearby he figured that girl, Emily, would be their if anywhere. He left a note on the counter, saying he was going to be out. He went to the pub, and low and behold, the girl was their. She was sitting at the table alone. Keith walked up and sat across from her. "Would ya mind telling me why you ran away?" "I didn't run away." She said defensively. "Well why you walked out of my house so quickly, then?" "Oh," She said, " That. I am just not that comfortable around strangers, and I am" She paused, "New here in town." Keith guessed something was up. "How about I take ya around town tonight. I am going out with some of me buds, and you can come with us." "Wont I be intruding?" "Nah, My buddy Damian is taking a date, and two of me other buds are setting another friend of ours up on a blind date." "Oh, that will be interesting." "Yeah, Patrick will be so surprised. He is the one who is getting the blind date. Now until then, you can relax at my place, and..." He paused, "I will even take ya shopping for something to where tonight, seeing as you don't have anything with ya." "Thanks, all my stuff is in boxes." She lied. "Well lets go, clothes don't just by themselves." Keith joked, as he was in disbelief that he said that. Was it possible that he was falling in love, NO, he was just being curious to a very pretty girl. The two of them went to the mall, and they went in. Emily went to a store, she asked Keith to wait outside, until she asked him to come in. Emily was flattered that this guy she barely knew was doing this for her. She picked out a pair of jeans, a yellow t-shirt with blue writing on it and a blue cardigan, she also picked out a pair of flip flops. "Keith!" She called. Keith came in and his jaw dropped. She was beautiful they way her brown long wavy hair draped across her back. She had gorgeous sea blue eyes. Keith paid for the outfit. "So now what?" She asked. "Well I can take ya to lunch then show you around town." Emily was hesitant. Keith eagerly awaited her answer.
Patrick had never fully gotten over the fact that Michelle chose Damian, but he was happy for them. He always had someone their for him, till recently Patrick was at Damian's house and of course Michelle was their too. They were going to go to the park to meet up with Paul and Ryan. Unknown to Patrick they were setting him up on a blind date. Patrick, Damian, and Lauren walked to the park. They went to the place where they had the silly string and water gun fight. Paul and Ryan were their to meet him. Both of them wrapped their arms around his shoulders. They stood on both sides of him and faced him towards Damian and Michelle. Damian could not help but hold in the laughter. Paul and Ryan had smirks on their faces. "Patrick, Buddy, Friend..." Paul began. "We have a surprise for you." Ryan continued. Patrick interrupted them, "I don't like your surprises, last time I found myself with green hair for a week." At that Michelle burst out laughing too. "You do realize that was George not us." Paul replied. "Yes, but you were part of it and you know it." Patrick responded. "It is not that kind of surprise." Ryan added. "It is a genuinely good surprise." Paul reassured. "Right." Patrick said with a hint of doubt."Well what is it." They two looked at each other, "We are setting you up on a blind date." "WHAT?!?!" Patrick was in shock. "Look her name is Callie, she is very sweet I have known her for the longest of time. I have talked to you about her, and she likes you from the pictures I showed her." Michelle said. Patrick said, "Okay." "You wont be alone mate." Damian added."Michelle and I will be their as well as Keith, and his date if he manages to find one." This was just the thing Patrick needed. A date. Maybe it would all be good. His stomach was rumbling. It was around lunch time.
Keith decided to take Emily to a little cafe that he enjoyed. He opened the door and led her to a little booth. The waiter handed them their menus. "So what do you suggest to eat?" Emily asked. Keith looked up from his menu, "Well, the ham and cheese is really good, or the salad." The waiter came back. Emily told him, "I would like a salad, with ranch, and a water." The waiter turned toward Keith, "I would look the ham and cheese sandwich, and a water." The cafe did not have Guinness. The waited a few minutes and the waiter brought them their food. Emily started to eat while Keith just stared at her. "Are you not hungry?" She asked. "Oh" He said he was surprised. He started eating but he was looking at Emily the whole time. They finished their food, and he took her on a tour of the town. Emily was good at saying she was new in town, when in truth she lived their. But she did not have to tell him that.
Michelle went home, and Damian went to Patrick's house. He and Patrick ate lunch. Then they played some soccer in the back yard. Damian said he had to go home and get ready, leaving Patrick all alone in his house. His mom was at work, and well he did not know where any one else was. He got ready. Damian and Michelle came and picked him up. They walked to the restaurant where they were going to have dinner.
Keith and Emily arrived at the restaurant early. They were seated when Keith saw Damian, Michelle, and Patrick walk up. Emily looked out the window too. She saw them, and excused her self to the bathroom. But she fled out the back of the restaurant.
Michelle, Damian, and Patrick walked in. "Hey Keith, sorry you couldn't find a date." Damian said. "As it happens little man, I did find a date, she went to the restroom." "Oh, what's her name?" Michelle asked. "Emily." He simply replied. Michelle and Damian sat across from each other. They left room for Emily for when she came back. Then Patrick sat down, "So where is Callie?" he asked. "Paul and Ryan are bringing her. They didn't trust me watching ya alone on yer date." "EW chaperons how many dates have we gone on with out them?" Michelle asked Damian. "Oh no, who knows what they are telling her." Patrick worried. "It is fine Patrick I am sure Michelle has told her countless good things about you. Oh and Michelle more than I can count." Damian reassured him. "Hey you two have nothing to complain about I am 23 and I am still being chaperoned. I wouldn't exactly call Ryan and Paul chaperons though." Keith said. "Their is nothing bad to say about you." Michelle reassured Patrick. "I heard that!" Paul yelled. Ryan laughed. The girl with them laughed. Patrick leaned across to Michelle, "Is that Callie?" "Yep." Michelle replied. Callie was pretty, she had blond short hair, that was cut into a bob, and blue eyes that were like the night sky, they had a purple tint to them. She was wearing blue jeans and white shirt with blue flowers on it. She was wearing light brown cowboy boots. She had fair skin, it was flawless. She had rosy cheeks and long eyelashes. Patrick was smitten. "Hi" she said. With a voice that sounded like she was singing. It was a fairly high voice. "Hi" He said back, his voice was deep and scratchy like, sounds like Ryan when he is singing Ride On, But all the time. Callie smiled a perfect smile, he smiled his perfect smile back. Damian whispered to Michelle, "I think they are in love." Michelle whispered back, "They are perfect for each other." The whole time Keith was getting anxious Emily had still not come back from the bathroom."Umm, I need to go to the bathroom" He got up and walked to the bathroom. The bathrooms were singles. Keith knocked on the door. "Emily?" Their was no reply, the door was unlocked. He walked briskly back to the table, "Um, guys Emily is gone." "She decided she didn't like ya mate." Paul said jokingly. Keith gave him a glare, "No, I think she did like me." "When did she go to the bathroom?" Damian asked. "After she looked out the window and saw you lot." He replied. He was worried. His sea blue eyes were getting sad and angry it reminded Michelle of the day she left for America. Patrick had a look as if he was in deep thought. Damian was worried. "Um you enjoy your dinner, I don't want to ruin it for ya." He was talking more to Patrick and Callie. "I will go look for her." He jogged out of the restaurant, he looked left and right, he decided to go to his house first, maybe she was their. He ran home.
Keith wasn't even halfway home, when he found Emily sitting on a bench crying. "What is the matter?" He asked her walking up to her. "Nothing you would care about." She answered hotly. "Now how do you know I don't care about you?" He asked. "Because you just seem like one of those guys who just doesn't care." Keith took offense to the comment, "Well," He said. "Your opinion of me happens to be very wrong. Now will ya tell me why you left the restaurant."Emily burst into tears again. "It's okay Emily, you don't have to tell me. Just let it out." He comforted. Emily put her head on his shoulder and just cried, they sat their for a while.
Back in the restaurant. Michelle, Damian, Patrick, and Callie were having a great time. The waiter asked where the blond man and the brown headed girl was. "So he did have a date." Damian said. "Um," Michelle replied, "He left, because..." "Because he was embarrassed..."Patrick continued. "About eating dinner with his sister." Callie finished. "Oh." The waiter said. Patrick and Damian looked confusingly at Callie. "Don't worry," She said, "I am not Keith's sister, I just wanted to help ya out." Her voice made Patrick melt. The continued to eat dinner. When the finished Paul paid for them. And they left. Keith and Emily were still sitting on the bench. Damian, Paul, Michelle, Callie, Patrick, and Ryan passed them. Emily's face was buried in Keith's shirt. Then Patrick said, "Emily?"
The second Emily heard his voice, she looked at him, jumped over the back of the bench, nearly kicking Keith in the face and ran. "Sorry Keith!" She yelled. "What is all this about?!?" Keith yelled back, he did not know if he could take her running all the time, he had feelings for her. He was hesitant he did not know weather he should run after her again, or if he should stay, and ask Patrick some questions. He decided to stay. Every was looking at Patrick, Callie who had love at first sight was looking heartbroken. Patrick looked all around him, Michelle was confused, Damian was just down right angry, Keith... well Keith was angry, sad, confused, frustrated, Then Patrick looked at Callie she was heartbroken. "It is not like that guys. Emily, is..." He broke off. He was nervous. "Um, I don't know how to put this, Emily is my um." "OUT WITH IT MAN!" Keith yelled. "Keith don't yell your going to scare him." Michelle said. It was true, Patrick was terrified now. Then he said it really fast. "Emily is my sister, okay." Everyone was shocked, Callie was relieved. Patrick had never mentioned a sister. Even Michelle and Damian who had been to his house did not know he had a sister. "You never told us you had a sister." Damian said. "Patrick, why have we never seen her?" Michelle asked. "It's complicated." He replied. "Can we, um, not talk about it." They dropped the subject. Patrick was hiding something, Emily was long gone. Keith sat down from all the shock. Callie, Michelle, Damian, and Michelle started to leave. "Wait, Patrick we need to talk." Patrick stopped in his tracks. And slowly turned towards Keith. He sat down. "Lauren, Damian will you take Callie home, we are going to be here a while." Lauren and Damian nodded. Callie was sad, but she would see him tomorrow. "Keith look..."Patrick started. "No, Patrick I know you don't want to tell me, but I need to know." Keith said. "Keith, I really don't think you do." "Patrick." Keith was very sincere, he was tearing up, no one had ever seen him cry he only had tears come to his eyes. "I don't want it to change how you look at me or Emily." He stated. "It wont, if anything it will make me love both of ya even more." Keith smiled. "Well..." Patrick started.
He took a big breath. Keith would be the first person he told. "I just want to say I have never told anyone this before. I am in foster care, Emily is my real sister but she is in foster care to. Well she was. Foster care tends to separate siblings. No one has met my real parents. Michelle met my American foster parents while Damian has met my foster mom over here. I try to keep it to where no one meets them. I was moved back to my original foster mom, because, my American foster parents were having a baby, they needed my room and said I was going back in three months." Keith interrupted and asked a brave question, "What happened to your parents?" Patrick started to cry, "They were killed by a drunk driver when I was five." Keith said, "AW man I am so sorry." "it is fine." Patrick replied as he continued, "Well, my foster mom here, favors me over alot of the kids, technically she is not allowed to kick kids out with giving them any help, or money. And well she hated Emily, I don't know why she just did. She was horrible to Emily, made her do everything like a slave while she spoiled me, it makes me sick, I wish I didn't have to live with her." He paused, " Anyways, Emily was kicked out three days before I came, I could always count on her being their for me, and don't get me wrong, I still do, but when she wasn't their to days ago..." He trailed of, his words were barely audible because he was crying so hard. "It will be okay man, sh" Keith grabbed Patrick and hugged him. "I will do something about this, I promise." Patrick looked at Keith with red eyes, "How? My foster mom is always at work." "Where does she work." "I don't know I never see her." "Well," Keith said, "here's my plan."
Keith started, "Well first and foremost we have to find Emily." "well duh." Patrick said. "Do you have anything else." "I need to think of a way to meet your foster mom." As Keith said a tall, skinny woman with black hair that was slicked back into a bun came walking by. "Patrick, why are you talking to this," the woman paused. Patrick was in shock, he was horrified. The lady continued, "This filth." Keith was appalled he was not filth. Patrick gulped, "Miss. Croan." his voice cracked when he said mrs. "Um, mam might I ask who you are?" Keith asked politely. The lady named Miss. Croan turned towards Keith, and looked down upon him, "I am Mrs. Croan, Patrick's foster mom." She shuddered at the word mom. This lady with a nose that resembled the wicked which of the west's obviously hated children and did not want anything to do with Patrick. "M'am," Keith started, continuing his politeness which was very hard. "I am a friend of Patrick's, I met him when he lived in America. He is friends with one of my friends Damian." Patrick was waving his hands no, don't mention him, but it was to late. "Damian?" Mrs. Croan asked with her snoody voice. "I have never heard of a Damian. Patrick do you know any Damian?" Patrick gulped and lied, "No mam." His outgoing personality suddenly disappeared as he became the shyest person ever. Keith was in complete and utter shock. "Uh, Patrick, Damian is practically your best mate." Keith said. Then Patrick lied to Keith, "I am sorry I don't know any Damian." Kieth was getting frustrated, "Oh then next your going to tell me, you don't know any Michelle either." Patrick lied again, "No, I am sorry." "Now Patrick, have you ever met this man before?" Miss. Croan asked. Patrick flinched like he was expecting something. Something was driven into his mind, "No m'am." He gulped. Keith could not believe what he was witnessing. This had to be illegal or something. "Patrick, I want you to hurry home, and no more talking to strangers." Miss. Croan said before she briskly walked off. Keith remained calm, but on the inside he was totally freaking out. Patrick waited till Miss. Croan turned the corner. "Dude, have you been telling a few lies to me?" Keith asked. Patrick hesitated, and answered, "Yes, I am a favorite of hers currently her only foster child. I don't know why Emily left. She allows me no contact with other people. I don't own a cell phone, or computer. She usually locks the door during the day, but I finally picked it, and am able to get out. Damian has never met her, he met our next door neighbor Miss. Shannon who takes pity on me cause she hears what goes on. Miss. Shannon is so nice. But," He paused. "But what?" Keith asked. "But, Miss. Croan does not like me talking with anyone but her. Tonight when I go home I will get punished." "What are you talking about?" Keith asked. "She beats me when I say I have friends, she beats me when I go out, she beats me when I tell her what she doesn't want to hear." Patrick was in tears. He was crying. "I better go now." He said sobbing. He walked off in the direction, that Miss. Croan had walked. Keith sat on the bench sprawled out. His mouth was open from the shock. He was gripping the bench so he would not fall off. Something was going on with Patrick and Emily. He had to get to the bottom of this. It was getting dark. He would not rest till he found out what was happening. He walked in the direction that Patrick went. He caught sight of Patrick, and followed him. Patrick lived on the end of the street, he walked to the next house over. He went up and knocked on the door. The door opened.
A woman with gorgeous red long flowing wavy hair, and green eyes greener than all the grass in Ireland opened the door. It was no wonder Damian mistook her for Patrick's mom, she looked exactly like Patrick. "Miss. Shannon?" Keith gulped. "Yes." She said in a flowing accent that made Keith's heart skip a beat. "Can I talk to you?" He asked. "Sure," She said, "What for?" "Um, about your next door neighbor..." "You mean Patrick. He is a very sweet boy, is that all." "No." Keith said, "What can you tell me about his foster mom, Miss. Croan." Miss. Shannon looked out her door, and looked both ways, "Come in." She said. Keith walked into the house. "Miss. Shannon..." Keith started. "Please don't call me Miss. Shannon, my name is Abigail." She smiled. "My name is Keith, Keith Harkin." "So why the interest in my neighbors?" She asked. "Well I went to America about three months ago, and I met Patrick while I was their, he was dating a girl who is practically my sister. And well he told me some stuff today that got me worried. He told me that you were nice." "Patrick is very sweet, and I have heard what happens, not just from him. Miss Croan is not the nicest of people." "I realized that when I met her today." Just then they heard a boy yell no. "I hear that quite a bit." she added.
"No, please... not the closet!" Patrick yelled to Miss.Croan. "I am sorry, but you went out today without my permission, you talked to a stranger, and who knows what else you did, you will have to stay in their till you learn to behave, Patrick." Miss. Croan said. Patrick was crying as Miss. Croan pushed him into the closet, he did no know when his next meal was coming, or when he would see light again. He sat down, and cried, and thought how could this be an easy punishment he saw what happened to the other kids and remembered how.
"What do you plan on doing?" Abigail asked. "I plan on facing that woman and telling her what she is doing is wrong." Keith replied. "She will deny it." "Then I will get the police involved." "Like they are going to believe the word of you a 23" She guessed at his age, "year old man who was told this by a 16 year old boy. I don't think they will." "You can help, you hear what goes on." "They wont believe the word of this 20 year old woman either." "Why not?" Keith asked. "Because I have tried to talk to them, but seeing as I have know proof of anything..." She trailed off. "We could get proof." Keith said. "No, I am not going to go trespassing on that property." "Well, then I will do it myself." Keith said, then he added, "Do you know anything about Emily, Patrick's sister?" "Yes, why?" She asked. "Well I met her, She would not tell me exactly what was going on, but Patrick did, but he did not know why Emily..." He stopped. "What did Emily do?" Abigail asked, she was worried you could see it in her eyes. "Ran off." Keith finished. "I knew this would happen," She said, "You better sit down, I will make us some tea, this is might be hard for you to hear."
She began, "Well like Patrick, Emily came over here too. She is so sweet, and nice. Patrick probably told you that Miss. Croan hated Emily, which in a sense is true, but not. Because you see, Miss. Croan used to be married, and she used to be nice, and she used to have a daughter." every time she said the word used she emphasized it. Keith gulped, "What happened to her daughter?" "Well," Abigail started, "Miss. Croan's daughter Molly, and Emily were great friends, when Emily was younger and living with a different foster mom. Well Miss. Croan's husband divorced her for some reason, and Molly was all she had, then the accident." "What accident?" Keith interrupted. Abigail rolled her eyes as if to say stop int interrupting me continued, "The accident in which Molly was killed." Keith wanted to say something, but he restrained himself. "She was hit by a car, with no hopes of survival. Molly and Emily were playing hopscotch in the street. Molly was going, and did not see the car come and the car did not see her so she was hit. Patrick was very young at the time only five or six did not know what was going on. The only thing Emily could do would be to push Emily out of the way and get hit herself, but she did not. And Miss. Croan blamed her for the whole thing, when it was clearly not her fault. Emily went back to her foster parent's house and told them the story. Her foster mom at the time said to go to Miss. Croan and apologize, and do whatever it took to make it up to her. Well Miss. Croan was devastated, Molly was the last thing she had. She started making Emily work for her. Emily looked alot like Molly and Miss. Croan would even call her Molly. This scared Emily. One day when she went to Miss. Croan's to help out, Miss. Croan announced that she had applied to be a foster mom, and she had been excepted. This scared Emily. Emily went home that night, and her foster parents told her and Patrick that they were not longer going to be foster parents at all, their new foster parent was Miss. Croan. Emily was terrified. Emily and Patrick had moved to Miss. Croan's with in the week. Let's say Emily started to rebel against Miss. Croan, and being treated like a slave and being called Molly. Miss. Croan has never let the incident go. Three years ago Patrick was transferred to a foster home in America, he was separated from Emily, and it scared him. That was when Emily really started to rebel. About a week before Patrick came back Emily ran away. And since then I have heard his screams of pain more often, they used to be less. But I guess Miss. Croan found that since she cannot take her rage out on Emily she will take it out on Patrick, who still does not know anything of the accident." Keith was in shock, he could not believe this. He was gripping the chair in anger, and so he could keep his balance. He met Abagail's story with silence no words would come. Abigail then asked, "What are you going to do?" "Find Emily, get Patrick, confront Miss. Croan, I don't know. But I have to do something." "I will be here if you need any help." "Thank you so much." Keith said, as he gave her a hug, she blushed. Keith walked out the door, as he walked out he looked at Miss. Croan's house, and noticed she was standing in the window staring him down with eyes that were as cold as ice. Shivers went down to Keith's spine. He started to run back to the bench. He ran in the direction Emily went. He ran for four days.
Four days had passed, the closet door opened, A streak of light hit Patricks face. "Hello Patrick, let's have a talk." She said with a face sweet voice. She took Patrick by the arm, and through him out of the closet. He was no more than skin and bones, he had no food for four days, and one bottle of water. He could barely walk. He looked out side, it was dark. No laughter was ever heard from the house, but it was extremely silent the other kids must have been in bed. Miss. Croan took him by the arm again and practically drug him through the hallway, she through him on the couch. Patrick plucked up the courage to ask, with a voice that was dry, "May I please have some food?" "No." Miss. Croan responed, "We need to talk about your horrible behavior." "But, what have I done?" Patrick asked clueless. "Well talking back is one thing." Miss. Croan said. "But you did the unforgivable."
"What did I do?" Patrick asked. "You killed my daughter." Miss. Croan replied. "What?!?!" "Don't deny it, you good for nothing." "I did nothing of that sort." Patrick said, "I did not even know you had a daughter." "Of course you did, your sister was best friends when they were little, you knew I had a daughter." Patrick was clueless, "No I didn't" "Patrick how could you lie to me." "I am not lying." Patrick said, pleading and scared. Miss. Croan slapped Patric across the face, "Don't lie to me." Patrick grabbed his face where he was slapped, "I'm not, I don't know what you are talking about." "Patrick, stand up." Patrick knew what was coming now. "Outside." Patrick went outside followed Miss. Croan. Their was a pole with a chain attached to it, similar to something you would attach a dog to. "Please Miss. Croan not this." "I don't want to do this Patrick, but lyres(sp) like yourself need to be taught a lesson. You will be out here to you can tell my why you did it." She took something that resembled a collar and placed it around his neck. She walked inside. Leaving Patrick outside, alone to face the weather and anything else that would come. Patrick was still hungry, but food was the least of his worries.
Keith was running and running, he finally came to a beach, one that he new well. He looked around their were a bunch of big rocks. He walked towards them. At the base of one of them he saw Emily, she was curled up in a little ball, she was passed out. Keith lifted her up in his arms, and started to walk to his house, luckily it wasn't that far. He sat her down on the couch. And he sat at the end. He drifted to sleep. Emily woke up, and tapped him on the shoulder. "Um, Keith." She said. Keith startled awake. "I need to tell you something." "It's okay, I already know." He hugged her, she started to cry, he gently rocked her. She looked up into his sea blue eyes, "But I have a question, What happened after I left?" "Well..." Keith started, "You might not want to know." Emily started to shake and get scared, Keith held on tighter. "I want to know." She said bravely. "Are ya sure?" Keith asked. Emily gulped, "Yes." Her heartbeat raced as did Keith's but for different reasons.
After Keith had told her everything, she was scared, but brave. "We have to get Patrick, out of their." "Why? He said he was a favorite." Keith asked. "Because, well, he might be a favorite, but now that I am gone, she might well blame him for stuff he doesn't know about, stuff he didn't do." It was late, perfect, "Well, now would be the best time to get him." Keith said. Emily agreed and off they ran, It did not take as long, because they were sprinting. It took four hours, both could not understand why, but it did. Saving someone you care for gives you more strength than you ever thought possible. "Emily, why don't you stay at Miss. Shannon's house." "Oh you mean Abby's house." "Yeah, for your protection." Emily walked to the front door of Abagail's house. Abigail opened the door and greeted Emily with a hug. Emily went in. Keith was alone. He had to figure out how to get Patrick. But where was Patrick. Keith walked around back. And climbed to the top of the fence. He peered over. He saw Patrick standing their. "Patrick." he whispered. Patrick looked up as disturbed by sleep. "Keith!" He yelled ans whispered. "Sh! I am here to get you out." Keith then noticed Patrick looked thinner than a twig, He was trying to sit down but couldn't "Patrick," he asked, "You look terrible, when was the last time you ate, and why can't you sit down?" "Four days." Patrick responded, "The chain is fixed so as long as your attached you can't sit down, I have been standing for about four or five hours." "Patrick, man I am sorry." Keith said, hopping over the fence. He walked over to Patrick, and examined the collar type thing that was around his neck, "How does this thing open?" "I don't know, I think Miss. Croan has the only Key." He replied. Keith pulled out his keys, he always had a lock pick on them, which would never help him since it was attached to his keys, but now it hellped. He picked the lock, the collar dropped making a loud clanking noise. A light turned on in the upstairs window. "Run Patrick." Keith said. The two ran to the fence. Keith helped Patrick over. He was halfway up himself, when a flashlight shined on his back. A person tapped on his foot. Keith turned his head. Shock unbelievable shock. He did not know what to do. "Come on Keith." Patrick said. "What's taking you so long." Patrick climbed back up and looked over the fence.
A sigh of relief came across Patrick's and Keith's faces. She wasn't their. YET. "What about us, Mister?" A little girl no older than five or six asked. Patrick noticed four or five kids standing their. Keith gave a sigh got down and took each kid that were no older than seven and handed them to Patrick, who told them to go to Miss. Shanon's house. Miss. Shannon greeted them each with a smile and joy. Patrick went into Miss. Shanon's house as well.Keith was headed up the fence. He was straddling it. "What do you think your doing." Miss. Croan asked, walking up to the fence. "I was coming out to check on Patrick, who is not here, You are."Keith gulped as Miss. Croan continued. "Where is Patrick." Keith lied, "I don't know." "Of course you don't." She said and walked away, she knew something was going on. Keith slipped to the other side of the fence. And went into Miss. Shanon's house. "I was not expecting all of them" Abigail laughed gesturing at the four kids. Two girls and two boys. "But I am happy they are here." They heard a yell. "They need to hide. Do you guys mind hiding from her, so she doesn't take you back." The kids went and hid, as did Patrick and Emily and Keith. Their was a loud knock on the door. It matched the pounding of everyone's hearts. Miss Shanon cautiously went to the door, and opened it. "Abigail Shannon, I know you have those kids here, they are mine give them back!" Miss Croan yelled. "I don't know what your talking about Rachel." Abigail calmly replied. "I know your up to something and I am going to get to the bottom of this!" She warned as she stormed off. Abigail Shannon walked back to where everyone was hiding. "It is not safe for them here." "Where are we going to go?" The little girl who spoke earlier asked. One of the boys who was very smart replied, "She is our foster mom, legally she owns us." "Not for long." Keith said.
"We have to get the police involved." Keith said. "We will get them involved in the morning." Abigail said. It was late at night. They all went to sleep. They woke up the next morning. Patrick asked to use the phone, he wanted to call Callie. He dialed her number, "Hi Callie. Did I wake you? Sorry. Um, can you come over to my house I have something I need to tell you." "I'll be right over." She replied, of course Patrick told her Miss. Shannon's address. They were all eating breakfast. When their was a knock at the door. Patrick who was not eating anything which was weird since he should be really hungry after not eating in four days, went and got the door. It was Callie. "Patrick you look awful." "Um, maybe you should come in and sit down, I need to tell you something." He sat her down on the couch. And told her every thing that he knew. Callie was so surprised. She was shocked. She did not know how to answer. "Patrick, I am so sorry." "No it is okay." They hugged. He brought her back to the kitchen, he seemed to have his appetite back. Then Callie noticed the little blond girl the girl who had gotten the other three kids saved the night before. "Cory?" The little blond girl turned her head. Her eyes got so big, Then she said something that shocked every one, even Patrick, who just now noticed.

Keith continued, "When I first saw a girl named Michelle..." That was as far as he got, but Emily had already figured out what had happened. She was very understanding. He did not get farther than the mention of Michelle, because the doorbell rang. Then some one was knocking at the door. Patrick opened the door, "Keith, some one is here to see you." He hugged Ryan. Keith asked Emily to finish the cooking, and ran to Ryan. "Harry, Molly, will you come with my and this man here." Both of them nodded. They followed, Keith and Ryan into what they believed to be Abagail's room. Keith sat on the bed and motioned for the two to sit with him. He then noticed a surfboard hanging on the was. He hated being in love with two women. He rediscussed, his love life was not as important as Harry and Molly right now. "Harry, Molly." Keith started, "This man, is a very good friend of mine, he has a story that matches yours exactly. His name is Ryan Kelly." "Hello, Mr. Kelly." They both said very sweetly. "Don't call me that, call me Ryan." He smiled. He knew he looked alot like them. Then Harry plucked up the courage to ask a question, "Are you our uncle?" Ryan smiled, "Yes." Molly decided to ask the hardest question, "Why did you not pick us up?" Ryan's smile dropped, "I was working, I told your caretaker i was going to be a few minutes late. I am sorry for all the trouble I have put you through." "It's okay Ryan." Harry said. "You came, That is the most important thing." Molly added. "Well, according to your parents will, I am your legal guardian. You can come home whenever you want." "Can we go now?" Molly asked. "Sure." The four of them walked out of the room, "Hey Abigail. Ryan is going to take Harry and Molly home, he is their legal guardian. Is that okay." "Sure." Abigail said walking into the room, "But before you go, can I get a hug." Harry and Molly ran to Abigail and gave her a hug. "Goodbye everyone." They said, walking out the door with Ryan. They all heard Ryan's car leave. Callie looked at her sister. "Do you mind if we go home, I think my parents will wont to see Cory." "Sure go ahead, sweetie." Abigail replied. "Thank you Miss. Shannon." Cory said, as the two sister walked out the front door. All who was left in the house now, was Emily, Abigail, Keith, and Seth the smart looking kid who looked like Paul, and Patrick. Emily brought out the food, they all ate, in silence. Then Patrick asked, "So what is going to happen to me, Seth, and Emily." "Well," Emily piped up, "I am of legal age, so I am the official guardian of you." "Sweet." Patrick said. Seth who had been smiling the whole time. Had quickly lost his smile. "What's the matter bud?" Keith asked. "What about me?" He asked. "I have an idea." Abigail stated.
