Hey all, as always all emails, addresses, and phone number are fictious and not real. I realize that sentence in redundent, but. On with the show.
Di tapped her pencil against her mouth and sighed. As much as she loved writing songs, the lyrics came easy, but she could never get the music itself. One of the members of a music group she loved had died recently, and she had the words of what could be a powerful song written, but she could not write a tune that suited the words. She tried humming out a random tune, listening to sad music, everything. Nothing helped.
She was sitting on a chair in the backstage of her music theatre building. Her Theatre teacher had called her and nine other students in after school. "Alright everyone, I called you in for a special assignment. The Principal has arranged for the ten of you to become pen pals with musicians from around the world. Carra, yours is from New Zealand... Steve, yours is from Spain... Diana, yours is from Ireland..." The teacher droned on, passing out addresses, but Di stared at her paper.

Colm Keegan! Oh my gosh! She was going to be pen pals with Colm Keegan! Turning her notebook to the next page, she vaigly heard the teacher saying, "Your first letter should be telling your pen pal about yourself, they know they are going to get mail from American Music majors." Di was already scribbling down her first note.
Hey!
This is Diana Foster, and I'm your pen pal from the states.
I'm supposed to tell you about myself, so.... I'm a music
major in college, I play the piano, guitar, and penny whistle.
I was born in Italy, but my dads job took us to the states when
I was two. I have an older brother, Nathan, and a younger
sister, Pheobe. Um... That's about it. My life has been pretty
boring up til now.
Your newest friend,
Di
The letter was sent the next day, and Di eagerly awaited his reply. It took a week to arrive, and the instant it did Di was tearing open the envelope.
Hi Di!
I hope you don't mind me calling you that, it's how
you signed your letter. Anyway, Italy? That's awesome.
Um... I don't know what your teacher told you about me,
but I'm a singer in the music group, Celtic Thunder, and
I used to perform with Celtic Woman. What style of music do
you like? I guess my band name tells you my favorite.
We are actually going to be touring in America next month,
Maybe we can meet up then? It's okay if you don't want to.
And here's my email so we can keep writing while I'm on
the road. CelticCK1@gmail.net .
Pen Pal for Life,
Colm
Di tried not to get overly excited at; Pen Pal for Life, but she couldn't help the squeal that escaped her. "Di? You okay?" Her older brother called down the hall. Di waltzed down the hall to float through her brothers door. "You know how I'm writing letters to a musician for school? He... Well here." She handed him the note and let him read. He scanned the note and smiled. "This guys from that group your obsessed with right? No wonder you squeaked."
"Now, Nathan... It's not like that. I just, apreciate their God given talents."
"And physical appearance. And..."
"Stop it! Anyway, I have to go now." She snatched the note back and hurried to her laptop.
Hey! This is my email. I mean... This is Di. Sorry. I can't ever seem to think straight. It's funny you should ask, I actually am a big fan of CT and CW. I would love to meet up with you when you get to town. My life is just sooooo boring. I really don't have much to tell you. I'm trying to finish a song I've been working on, I've got the words, but I can't get the tune. It's.... Actually my.... Tribute to George...I guess you would say. I thought up the words the day I heard about his death and... I'm sorry..... I really should stop talking. I just...
Anyway... Your Pen Pal,
Di
Colm stared at his screen with his hand over his mouth. This was just too... He didn't even know. Weird. Di was an interesting person, and it was funny to see her trip over her own words. Well not funny exactly, but... He open the reply box.
You're a fan? Cool! We are going to be performing in your city on April 3. I'll talk to Sharon about getting you tickets and a backstage pass. Would you be willing to send me the words to your song? Maybe I could help with the tune. You don't have to, but I just thought maybe I could help you out. I miss the big guy, but talking about him helps. You have nothing to feel sorry for. So what besides music do you do for fun?aejrgnagkrgjmigmfkgamdgk. Sorry, Keith is trying to take the computer. I better go. I hope to hear from you soon,
Colm
Yeah, I'm a fan. A backstage pass! Really!?!?!?! I like to draw for fun, and I read a lot. Mostly Sci-Fi and Fantasy. I love to watch Star Wars and Doctor Who all day if my Mum lets me. So... The words to my song.... Um... Here.
"My childhood dreams,
I've said my last goodbye,
every story ends, but so soon, why?
I'm walking down this eerie path alone,
wishful thinking, do I hear your voice?
This is your song, your last sold out show.
A new day is dawning, our time to let go.
You believed in the power of music,
in the tune of your heart,
there are no words to describe who you are.
You did it with passion, or not at all,
you asked the questions, to stay? Or go?
You sing in the sky, you are even more real.
Now looking to the future, free.
You will be missed, but your legend lives on,
Your great legacy stands after you're gone."
Di
Colm wiped a tear from his eye, sniffing. "What made ye CRY Lad?" Keith snatched the laptop from Colms limp hands and began to read. "Wow. That was powerful. Does she have the music?" Colm shook his head. "She sent me the words to see if I could help write it, I just didn't think it would be that... Emotional." Keith nodded, sober for once. "Can I help?"
It was a few days before Di got a response, and she worried she had offended the lad.
Hey Di,
Sorry it took so long to reply, and we havn't quite finished with yer song. Oh, Keith stole my laptop and read the words, and really wanted to help. Have you heard about Emmett? we got a new lead singer. It'll be fun to have a newer newbie then meself to slag on. I love Doctor Who! I have what could seem like an akward question. Do you know what MBTI Personality type you have? I'm curious.
Your bestest best pal, Colm
Colm,
That's alright, I'm sure you're busy. Keith liked it?! *Squeals like a 13 year old girl over One Direction* Sorry, I just had to. I did hear about Emmett. Do you have a nick name to tell the two Emmet(t)s apart? Who is your favorite Doctor and Companion(s)? It's not akward unless you want it to be. I'm an INFJ. Rarest type ever. Yippee.
