Okay if this is the Mythology tour than Keith is 27, if it's last years tour then Keith is 26. Colm joined the group last year and was a part of the greatest hits tour. Love how Riley was a bit jealous of Keith! Wonder what Nicole is hiding!

Love how Riley was a bit jealous of Keith! Wonder what Nicole is hiding! I know that.. and I figured someone would pick up on that... I needed him to be younger. It was on purpose. Don't worry.. I'm well aware of his age! He's a month younger than I am.

Sorry again for the wait everyone!!! Here's the update I've been promising for a while! In all honestly, my mind hasn't been in a great place lately and I'm afraid it reflects in my writing. I'm sorry if this offends anyone. I thought some background on one of our main characters was necessary. Enjoy!
Peter was thrown off by his thwarted plan. He honestly didn't know what to do. He didn't understand why Nicole wanted to leave him so badly. He would have let her, if only she'd asked.
Before he knew it, tears were falling from his eyes. Peter couldn't put into words how much he cared for that woman and was devastated that she didn't want to be with him. He had to show her that he was special, the one for her... Just to figure out how to do that.
Sitting in his new hotel room, Peter tried to gather his thoughts. His thoughts turned to his father, Marcus.
Marcus was such a doting father. He taught Peter so much about survival and hunting and life and love. It took Peter a while to understand some of his father's lessons, especially the ones about love.
“Daddy, what makes a girl love you?” he'd asked once.
Looking down at Peter, Marcus smiled and patted the young boy's shoulder. “Well, Pete my boy, most girls don't know that they love you until you show them.”
This confused even the most advanced 7 year old's mind. “Did you have to show mommy that she loved you?”
Marcus laughed. “Yes, son. I did.”
The laugh from his father scared Peter a bit. It reminded him of an evil genius from one of his cartoons.
After a while, Peter got the nerve to ask his father one more question. “Dad? How did you show her?”
“Well, son, it's a long story. It starts with the first time I saw your mom. She was working at the perfume counter at a department store in the mall. She was the most beautiful woman I'd ever seen.” Marcus had a wistful look on his face.
Shaking his head, Marcus returned to his story. “ You see son, your mother was dating another man. He was one of those tall, dark, and handsome types. The ones that all of the girls fall for. But I met her outside after she got off work one night and took her home. It took her a few weeks but, she started to understand.”
“What do you mean? A few weeks? You guys dated and stuff?”
“No, Peter. The thing you have to learn about your mom is that she's a very stubborn lady. See, she didn't want to go with me at first. As a matter of fact, see this scar here,” Marcus pointed to a long, curved scratch along his right eyebrow, “She gave me this the night I took her home.”
Peter just looked at his father, puzzled.
“Okay, let me tell you this way. What happened that night, a lot of people would judge me and, as my son, you about. What happened, some might say, is I kidnapped her.”
Peter was silent. He'd seen storied on TV about kidnappings. After a bit, “But dad, doesn't mom love you? Or is she staying because you make her? And what about her mom and dad?”
“I stay because I choose to.” Came Ava's quiet voice as she came around the sofa to sit on the arm nearest Marcus.
At this, Peter had no more questions. The tone of his mother's voice told him that this was the end of the conversation.
It was later that night that Peter was woken by the bang of the door being forced off of it's hinges and lots of people stomping down the hall. He got up and went to his bedroom door, cracking it just a bit to see what was going on.
He came face to face with the barrel of a very long, very scary gun. The man holding it said something into his shoulder and forced himself into the room. Peter was so scared he was shaking. The man took off his mask. “What's your name son?” he asked, his voice raspy but gentle.
Peter didn't like this man at all. He didn't know what he wanted and that scared him.
The man spoke agan. “My name is Derrick. I'm here to get you out of here. Now what's your name little man?”
“Peter.” he whispered.
“Okay, Peter. It's nice to meet you. I'm going to send you with this nice lady. Her name is Emily and she'll make sure you're alright. Everything is going to be fine, son.”
Emily took him by the hand and was walking him out of the house when he heard his mother scream. He tried to wrench his hand out of Emily's but her grip tightened. “Come on Peter. Everything will be okay.”
It wasn't okay. Both of his parents had been arrested that night. His father for kidnapping his mother 15 years before and his mother for pulling a gun on the police. Peter himself went into foster care until he was 16 when his mother got out of prison and he went to live with her.
Peter never understood why everyone saw his family as so wrong. Why everyone saw him as wrong. All he wanted to do was spend time with the woman he loved. Knowing what his father had taught him, he knew if he spent time with Nicole she would come to love him like his mother had his father.
Before he knew it, Peter was sobbing in frustration of his current situation, and his past, until he had no more strength in him to move. He laid down on the bed and quickly fell into a restless sleep.

Well... sorry for the 6 month wait folks! It's been a heck of a 6 months with not as much writing as I'd like. But! I got back into this story and these characters and finished an update! I think we will soon have a conclusion too! A couple more things need ironed out first but, it's in sights! Enjoy and don't forget the feedback! I love it!
Months had gone by but Nicole still couldn't sleep. She found herself tossing and turning in her bed. When she'd sense Riley up and wandering around, she would stay still, feigning sleep. Every time she'd close her eyes, that man would appear. She'd see him hovering over her and feel his hands on her and she'd find herself waking up shaking and sweating and crying.
Riley could sense that Nicole was uneasy and it bothered him that she wouldn't talk to him about it. They had spent many nights awake just talking about everything. There was nothing else to do when she'd have a nightmare and couldn't get back to sleep.
That morning, she had woken at 3 A. M. with a scream, scaring Riley to death. Habitually, he reached for his gun to stop whoever was attacking her from hurting her, only to find the petite woman sitting straight up in her bed, shivering with fear and sobbing uncontrollably. He had quickly gotten up from his perch in the arm chair across the room to try to comfort her, only to be pushed away. Things between the two of them hadn't been the same since.
Nicole didn't want to let Riley in. It was too much to wake up from one of her many nightmares to him sitting on the edge of her bed, a concerned look on his face. It broke her heart that she couldn't open up to him. She swore years ago that she would never tell her secret to anyone and so far she'd done just that, but something about Riley made her want to talk about it. It scared her.
“Nicole? Are you awake?” Riley whispered.
Nicole rolled away from him so as not to show him the tears flowing down her face. Once she composed herself, “Yeah. I am.” she whispered.
“Is.. Is everything okay? You know... between us?” he asked tentatively.
Nicole really didn't know how to answer that. In normal circumstances, everything with Riley would be great. They'd be an amazing couple who were happy and madly in love. But love wasn't something Nicole was ready to give away. Instinctively, she put her arm across her abdomen, as if protecting something. Quickly she realized her mistake and hoping Riley didn't notice, hastily she moved it.
Riley did notice. But he wasn't about to bring it up when they were barely speaking. They'd been on the road for almost two months and had no sightings of her kidnapper. Her nightmares seemed to be coming less and less often except for when they have a moment. The night after is spent with Riley waking to Nicole screaming and holding her while she sobbed until the sun rose.
“Nic?” Riley said touching her arm to get her attention. “Look, it's been a couple of months without any hint of that creep. I know you're really having trouble with something and I don't think it's him. I want you to be honest and trust me but I'm not going to push you if you can't. You know I have feelings for you. I know you have feelings for me too. For whatever reason you won't let me in. That's okay. I'm just going to back off.”
“What do you mean Riley?” she whispered, almost inaudibly.
Riley grabbed Nicole's hand. “I'm going to talk to Sharon and take my leave.” And he rose from the bed, grabbed his bags, and walked out.

It seems like you've skipped something - like Riley and Nicole have become more than bodyguard and guarded - and that Nicole is having nightmares whenever they get emotionally close - but that's me reading between the lines. It just feels like somethig important has been left out.

Well everyone... Here's the next bit... slowly all of your questions will be answered.. I promise! Enjoy!!!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Peter had been comfortably following the tour, staying just far enough out of sight that no one would know he was there. The months of seperation from his love was wearing on him. He'd dropped almost fifty pounds and had slept much less than he should have.
It was all worth it when he'd see her. When he'd catch a glimpse of her walking around a city. Unfortunatey that cop was never far behind.
This morning he was in the parking garage across the street from the hotel they were staying in. He had checked the schedule and the group had the day off. He was waiting for everyone to get up and head out sight seeing for the day. It was surprising to see the man who followed Nicole everywhere walk hurridly out of the door to the hotel, bag in hand, and hail a cab.
Peter was curious, but not curious enough to follow him. But, he did think it was about time to approach his love again, especially since her “protector” seemingly has left.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nicole was a sobbing mess. Laura and Seana were trying their best to calm her down. “Hon. What happened?” Laura asked, trying to smooth the destraught woman's hair.
“I don't know. One minute we were talking and the next he was walking out.” she shakily responded.
“Were you fightin'?” Seana asked.
“I don't know. Maybe. Kinda.” she sighed. “Every time we got close, I backed away. I think he just had enough.” What Nicole couldn't tell them is why she couldn't let herself get close to him.
“I think I need to go talk to.. to.. to Neil...” she finally whispered.
The other two girls looked at each other, questioningly but they helped Nicole get presentable and led her to Neil's room.
She hugged both girls and thanked them for their help. She turned to the door, stopping to take a deep breath and gather her nerve. Then she knocked. A few seconds later, the man she was looking for answered, wearing nothing but a towel around his waist.
Neil took one look at Nicole and knew something was up. He quickly folded her into a hug, escorting her into the room.
He closed the door and turned back to the visibly shaken woman. “Nic. What's wrong?”
“Oh Neil! I've messed up! So bad! Riley left!” she said as she began sobbing again.
Neil wheeled her to a chair in the room. “Let me get dressed quick and I'll be back.”
Nicole worked to calm herself in the few minutes it took for Neil to throw some sweatpants and a tee shirt on. When he came back she was able to breathe without sobs in between.
Sitting on the bed directly across from her, Neil looked her over with those caring eyes of his. “Now. What happened? Why did Riley leave?”
Taking a deep breath, Nicole started. “He and I have.. had.. been getting close. We even kissed one night. But I couldn't. I can't fall in love again. That leads to talks of family.. and after Ava..” she trailed off.
Neil's eyes got wide. “You're letting Ava stop you from being happy? Nic, that was years ago. I know it still hurts. It hurts me too. But she'd want us to be happy if she were still here.” He grabbed her hand. “Nic, we both loved her and when she died a part of both of us died with her. But you can't let that stop you from thinking of a family again. We did once.”
Nicole felt the tears running down her cheeks but not the hysterical sobs of earlier. “I know Neil. You're the only one who understands. I don't know how I let myself get to this point. Ava was the best parts of both of us and I feel like she took everything that was good with her when she left me.”
“Oh no. Nicole. You are truly the most caring person I've ever known. That's part of why I fell in love with you.” Neil tried to reassure her. “Look, I wasn't crazy about Riley, especially when you and him started getting close. But now I see how good it's been for you. You smile and laugh like you did before. It's been so great to see, even though it hasn't been me that made you do it.”
Nicole chuckled. “You're jealous?”
Neil smiled a sad smile. “A bit, yes. I couldn't help it. With so much history between us... But. You know what I think? You need to call him before he flies back home.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Riley found himself sitting across from a desk in the office of the venue that Sharon had taken over waiting for her to finish her business call to Ireland.
“Sorry about that Riley. Now, what can I do for you?” Sharon asked, hanging up the phone and shutting her laptop.
“I'm going to be heading home tonight.” he said matter of factly.
Sharon gaped at him. “Why?”
Riley sighed. “It's been months since there has been any hint of the man who kidnapped Nic... Nicole. Her nightmares are coming less often now and I think that she would do better recovering if things went back to normal around here.”
“If that's what your professional opinion is than who am I to dispute. I do wish you'd stay for a couple more days though. Just to make sure. I can get you set up in one of the extra rooms we booked for storage.” Sharon offered.
After thinking about it for a bit Riley finally agreed to Sharon's terms. He set out to rent a car for the next couple of days then return to the hotel.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Peter was walking up and down every hall in the entire building trying to find any hint of an Irish accent anywhere. He knew if he could find the floor, it wouldn't take long to narrow down the room his lovely lady was in.
He made it to the tenth floor when he heard a voice coming out of a room nearby. It was a man's voice. But moments later came a woman's and they both had a lilt to them. Peter hid behind a column when he head the door open.
“Thanks again Neil. You're so good to me. How did I ever deserve you?” Nicole laughed.
“Oh now. If you're not careful you're gonna make my ego too big.” Neil teased, making her laugh again.
Neil hugged the woman and told her to go get some rest. Peter knew this was his only chance and he took it.
