I'm sorry! I had to! It just came to me one day!!!!
Chocolate Chip Cookies
(And A Monkey Too)
Daniel licked his lips when he caught a whiff of the chocolate chip cookies Ryan was baking.
Paul had been trying to help, until Ryan shoved him out the kitchen door. You see, Paul was not the best cook. In fact, food seemed to hate him. It begged for anyone but Paul to cook it. It blew up, burned, or didn't cook at all when Paul was trying to cook.
"Ryan! Are the cookies done yet?" Daniel yelled through the door, whining a little. You see, he was quite hungry and wanted something sweet to eat. Especially since he had been playing footy with his mates and had forgotten to eat lunch, on account of the footy game, and the fact that one of his mates sisters was playing.
(You see, strange reader, Danny, is, after all, fourteen, and therefore would skip lunch to play footy with a girl and regret not having lunch later.)
"Danny, I just put them in the oven a few minutes ago!" Ryan said, opening the door. He sighed. Ever since the lads found out that he was a dessert chef for a short period of his life, he hadn't had a moment of peace.
Keith had asked for four dozen cupcakes for a party for Rebecca. Paul wanted something actually edible that he didn't have to pay for, that Dom would eat. Damo, the strange lad, asked if he could make banana oreo cookies. Emmet had only asked if Ryan could teach him to cook, while George thought the whole thing was amusing and wanted nothing, for which Ryan was grateful.
Danny, however, wanted chocolate chip cookies. The bane of Ryan's existence. The horror that haunted his dreams. No, not Danny, you strange reader you! The cookies. The Chocolate Chip Cookies.
Ryan could cook many different desserts, from many different cultures, yet the ability to make chocolate chip cookies eluded him. He would never let the lads know though. He hoped and prayed that they would come out alright.
"So I guess that's a 'no'?" Daniel asked.
"Yes, that's a 'no'." Ryan sighed. "You're as bad as Damo and Keith!"
"Did I hear me name being spoken?" Keith came into the room, feet first. He'd been wrestling with Damian, and was now pinned underneath the lad, the swinging door having flung open when they crashed into it.
"I really need to stop doing that." Ryan muttered to himself. "Yes, Keith, I mentioned you."
Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeepppppppp!!!!!!!!!!! The oven went off.
"I'll go get them out of the oven." Ryan said, walking into the kitchen. Please let the cookies be alright. Please.
"Okay! The cookies are done!" He yelled through the door. A scrabbling sound was heard outside the door. "But they have to cool for a half hour!" A long, drawn-out groan was heard, from quite a few voices.
