Christmas in the Kelly household was quiet yet festive. Cori enjoyed supervising as Ryan hung lights outside but she couldn’t resist throwing a snowball at him before ducking into the house. They had picked out a live tree and were thankful that Rory didn’t want to climb it, he just wanted to hide underneath it. She had shipped her few belongings to Ireland after the wedding and enjoyed telling Ryan the stories behind the ornaments as they decorated the tree.
Carrie had given them an early Christmas present at the wrap party. It was an ornament that was a replica of their wedding rings; Ryan’s four toned Celtic knot and Cori’s ruby, diamond, and onyx wedding set, that had the words ‘Our First Christmas’ engraved around the bands. Ryan hung it at the top of the tree and in the front so they could see it when they walked by.
There were a few presents from the other lads under the tree as well as a large box to Ryan from Cori and a small box to Cori from Ryan. They had agreed to only buy one gift each and Cori was interested to see if Ryan stuck to that rule, he liked to spoil her.
Cori smiled when she felt Ryan wrap his arms around her from behind and laughed when he handed her a cookie. She loved to bake and had kept their cookie jar full ever since they returned home. She often teased Ryan because every time she walked into the kitchen he had his hand in the cookie jar like a small child.
“It looks beautiful,” murmured Ryan, the soft smell of gingerbread surrounding him.
“Our first tree,” replied Cori.
“Next year we’ll have little Lynay to share it with.” He placed one hand on Cori’s stomach and laughed when the baby kicked in agreement.

The next morning dawned bright and clear with a fresh coating of snow. Cori fixed them a light breakfast, they were going to eat at Constance and John’s later, while Ryan shoveled the driveway and sidewalk.
They opened the few gifts under the tree and made sure that Molly and Rory got their presents too. They didn’t open each other’s gifts though, they were saving those for the celebration at Constance and John’s.
Bundling up they made their way to the other Kelly household. “Merry Christmas!” John exclaimed while hugging his daughter-in-law carefully. He hugged his son as well and got out of the way as his wife bustled around the couple.
They made themselves comfortable in the living room and began to pass out gifts. Cori had given Constance a beautiful charm bracelet with a single charm on it. It was a small pink footprint with the name ‘Lynay’ engraved on it. “Oh Cori, it’s beautiful,” she exclaimed while clasping the bracelet around her wrist.
Ryan had given her a pair of earrings in a similar style to the bracelet and had given his father a watch that he had been eyeing for years. Cori had overheard John saying that he was running out of room for all of his books so she had bought him a Kindle and loaded it with her extensive library. “You put a thousand books on here!” he exclaimed.
Cori smiled and shook her head. “Well, you’ll need something to read when we ask you to baby sit.”
Constance and John had collaborated on their gift and they handed the couple the box with a smile. It was a huge photo album that practically chronicled their entire relationship. There were pictures of Cori rehearsing with the guys on the ‘It’s Entertainment!’ tour, Cori working with Ryan on stage, and one of Cori with the entire group after the taping of the live show.
There were pictures of Cori’s Christmas Showcase along with a copy of the program. The press release for Ryan’s solo album and the cover graced one page. They took their time flipping through the pages, neither one had ever seen some of these pictures and wondered who had taken them.
The next section was of the ‘Storm’ show and tour. The first picture was of Cori, Ryan, and Morgan working out the steps to ‘Midnight Well’. There were shots of them on stage rehearsing, Cori watching with her hands on her hips as he jumped down from the tree. A great shot of Cori sitting on the stage laughing made Ryan smile and he felt his heart flip when a shot of himself and Cori appeared on the bottom of the page. They were sitting in the audience and Cori was sound asleep with her head on his shoulder. He had his arm wrapped around her shoulders and was looking down at her with a soft smile.
Their wedding was next and aside from a few of the professional pictures there were many candid shots as well. Cori’s favorite was one that she knew Rebecca had taken. It was of their intertwined hands as they sat at the table. The picture was in black and white but the stones and bands of their rings had been tinted.
The tribute showcase was also featured and a stunning shot of Cori as she danced dominated most of the page. There was also a picture of Ryan standing next to Cori and spreading his hand over her stomach. This had been taken mere moments after she had announced that she was pregnant.
The rest of the pages were blank but they both knew they would be filled with pictures of the new baby in the near future. Wiping her eyes Cori stood and hugged both Constance and John. “Thank you so much. This is…I don’t even have words to say how wonderful this is!”
Ryan repeated the move and helped Cori sit back down. “Where did you get all of those pictures?”
“You’d be surprised how many photos of you all are floating around. It seems like every cast and crew member owns a camera! I just asked for a few pictures and received so many that they wouldn’t all fit!” replied Constance. “Now, you two have more gifts to open.”
Ryan smiled shyly and handed Cori a small box. She tore off the paper and raised an eyebrow when she saw the familiar hue of the blue box. “Tiffany’s?” Ryan nodded and Core carefully pulled the ribbon and opened it. She gasped when she saw the beautiful necklace nestled inside. A delicate pair of pointe shoes were fashioned from white and yellow gold, their ribbons winding up to become part of the chain. “Oh Ryan, it’s beautiful,” she breathed.
He took the box from her and lifted the necklace out. Cori swept her hair to the side and Ryan carefully fastened the chain around her neck. She touched the charm gently before leaning over to kiss her husband. “Thank you.” Ryan smiled then raised an eyebrow when she handed him a rather large box.
He tore off the paper and nearly dropped his gift in surprise. It was a large, clear box with a basketball mounted inside. Looking closer he realized that it was a Celtics basketball and had been signed by the entire team. “Cori…how…how did you do this? This is amazing!” he exclaimed before hugging her tightly.
“I know a friend of a friend,” she said vaguely and giggled when he kissed her. He sat with the box in his hands, turning it over to see all of the signatures, his eyes wide like a child’s.
Constance and John watched as their son and his wife exchanged gifts and felt their hearts warm at the sight. The two were perfect for each other, knowing exactly which gifts would bring the other the most joy. Christmas was a time for miracles and they knew that they were witnessing one.
