This whole thing is basically me going "HOW DO YOU IRISH TERMS? DO YOU SAY PETROL IN IRELAND? HOW DO YOU WORDS?"
It was difficult. Eventually, I gave up on anyone sounding Irish. So, they all sound British. Hooray.
Anyway! On with the update!

"Where are we now, Doctor?" Damian asked as the TARDIS landed.
"Twenty-first Century Cardiff," The Doctor replied. "To refuel."
"Refuel what?" Damian took his jacket from where he'd hung it over one of the many coral-like beams around the Console room. "The TARDIS, you mean?"
"Precisely," The Doctor said.
"So, I take it it doesn't run on petrol, huh?" Damian guessed. "Or else you wouldn't have picked Cardiff specifically. Because honestly, no one really picks Cardiff for anything."
"Clever," The Doctor grinned. "And you're right; She doesn't run on petrol."
"Then what does it run on?" Damian shrugged his jacket on.
"Well, you see," The Doctor began. "There's a rift in time and space that runs right through Cardiff. The city was basically built on it. The TARDIS runs on the energy that comes from the Rift."
Damian nodded, understanding the explanation for the most part.
"It should only take twenty seconds," The Doctor added. "No need to head off into this ol' city. We'll be back to adventuring in no time. Well, time... Just- Only twenty seconds of it. Not very long at all."
"Oh," Damian said beginning to take off his jacket again. "Well."
Suddenly, there was a knock on the TARDIS' door.
There were a number of reasons why this was strange. First, the TARDIS did not get visitors because... Well, it was the TARDIS. Plain and simple. It was also- on the outside, anyway- a police box. And who knocked on the doors of police boxes? No one.
"Well, that's curious," The Doctor said. "Who could that possibly be? Nobody would knock on the TARDIS' door. To anyone but us, it's just a phone box, why would they-- Unless..."
Damian raised an eyebrow as the Doctor trailed off.
"Unless what?" He asked.
"Don't open the door, Damian," The Doctor said quickly.
"Why not?"
"Just don't," The Doctor repeated.
"We're in Cardiff," Damian rolled his eyes. "Whoever it is, it can't be anyone dangerous. Nobody picks Cardiff for anything because nothing happens in Cardiff."
The Doctor glared at him.
"Fine," He said. "Open it. See what happens."
Damian sighed, and walked over to the door.
"But I'm warning you," The Doctor continued. "I know who it is, and we'll only get into trouble if we meet him, here."
"You like trouble," Damian said as he opened the door.
Standing in the doorway was a dark-haired man in a navy blue greatcoat.
"Hey, there," The man grinned.
"Kelly!" The Doctor made his way toward Damian and the man. "Stop that."
"I was saying 'hello'! Aren't I allowed to say 'hello'?" The man asked.
"No," The Doctor frowned.
"Uh, Doctor," Damian said. "Who is this?"
"Captain Ryan Kelly," The man grinned again. "Nice to meet you. I'm assuming you're the Doctor's new friend? Wow, picked a young one this time, didn't you? What is he? Fifteen? Sixteen?"
"Nineteen, thank you," Damian replied curtly.
"Fiesty, too. I like this one," Ryan winked.
"Aye, leave him alone," The Doctor narrowed his eyes at him.
"Hey, I meant it in a completely platonic sense. I don't go that way, and you know it," Ryan said in defense. "Neither does he, I don't think. He looks like a lady's man, he does."
"Thanks, I think," Damian shrugged.
"Anyway," Ryan began. "I haven't seen you," He pointed at the Doctor. "In ages."
"And?" The Doctor gestured for him to continue.
"I want the two of you to drop by Torchwood for a visit. You know, before you head off again."
"What's Torchwood?" Damian asked.
"Torchwood is his little organization of- to put it simply- alien hunters," The Doctor said. "Or at least, Torchwood Three is his. And of course when I say 'alien', that includes me."
"How do you mean?" Damian raised an eyebrow.
"They consider me a 'threat'." The Doctor replied.
"Well, I don't," Ryan said. "Besides, you consider me a threat."
"Not in the same way. You're just obnoxious," The Doctor crossed his arms over his chest. "And we're not visiting you lot. Little chat with you, maybe, but I'm not making a holiday out of it."
"I don't know," Damian said. "I sort of want to see this Torchwood."
Ryan smiled.
"See? Lady's Man here wants to visit."
"My name is Damian," He corrected Ryan.
"Right, right. Damian wants to visit."
"Oh no, I don't trust you with-"
"Doctor!" Damian groaned. "I'll be all right. I'm not a child. If anything happens, I can take care of myself."
The Doctor hesitated.
"All right," He said finally. "But I'm staying here. And Kelly, if anything happens-"
"...Keep an eye on the kid, I got it," Ryan waved a hand at the Doctor. "Don't worry. He's safe in Torchwood's hands."
"That's not very reassuring," The Doctor muttered.
"Like I said- Don't worry," Ryan laughed. "Anyway, off we go!"
And with that, he and Damian had left the TARDIS.

The next update will come up as soon as I figure out roles for everyone at Torchwood Three. I have a Ianto in mind, and a Gwen, but that's about all.
