Chapter One “Forty five more minutes” I thought to myself, counting down the minutes until I arrived in Los Angeles. Five hours ago I left my hometown of Baltimore, Maryland to come here and follow my dreams. I had known ever since I was five years old that I wanted to be a musician. College just wasn’t for me. It’s not that I was bad at school, I just didn’t like it. I’ve always known that there was something better to do with my life, so as soon as I graduated from high school I packed my bags and jumped on a flight to California. My parents weren’t thrilled with the idea of me leaving, but they understood enough to financially help me out. Otherwise I was on my own. They were much more considerate of my older sister, Casey, who just graduated out of a $40,000 college with a degree in communications, exactly what my parents wanted her to be. She has always been the favorite child. She set the bar unreasonably high. She never got in trouble. Ever. She was no angel, though, she just never got caught. Clearly she was doing something I wasn’t because no matter what I would always be the rebel child in my parents eyes. My family life wasn’t what made me want to leave Baltimore, though. Sure we had are rough patches, but over all I was blessed with a caring, wealthy family. It was everything else that made me want to leave. I didn’t live in Baltimore actually; I lived in a little town in Baltimore County that no one has ever heard the name of. One of those little towns where everyone knows everyone and rumors spread like wildfire. I don’t know what made people want to talk about me so much, but there was always something to say about me, whether it was true or false. I had the most amazing friends throughout high school, but they all had their future planned for them. And here I am, about to get off a plane with no clue of what’s going to happen next. “Thank you for flying with us, we hope you enjoyed your flight! Welcome to L.A!” I heard the flight attendant say over the speaker. “Finally.” I thought to myself. I threw my oversized purse over my shoulder, grabbed my guitar, and got out of the plane as soon as I could. WOW. LAX was amazing. A huge rush of excitement and nervousness hit me as I head outside for a cab. I gave the cab driver the address to my apartment and got on my way. After a good amount of time in the cab I walked into the lobby and up to the desk. “Hi, I’m here to pick up a key for my new apartment.” I asked the lady at the desk. I said it as if I were asking rather than stating. “Name?” she asked in a monotone voice. “Carly Williams” “Fourth floor, room 421” she told me as she handed me a key. “Awesome, thanks!” I said, trying to be friendly. “Mmhm, if you need anything you can come here.” She said, I could tell she didn’t mean it though. I found my room and through my bags in. “I can’t believe I’m actually here.” I said to myself. My parents had come here a few weeks ago to set all my things up so that I didn’t have to worry about it when I got here. I had major jetlag but I was so anxious to restart my life that I didn’t just want to sit in my new room alone. I decided to change into yoga pants, a Maryland sweatshirt and Uggs and just walk around the apartment complex to get to know the building better. As soon as I opened the door, the door across from me did the same. I made eye contact with the stunning man in front of me. He had short, dark, messy hair and really pale skin. I hardly noticed any of this; I was too lost in his bright blue eyes. I realized that I must be staring, so I finally came back to reality. I was about to introduce myself when he started speaking. “You must be the new neighbor,” he said to me with a slight smile. “I’m Damian.” He had the most amazing Irish accent. I recognized it immediately because Ireland was on my top 5 places to go before I die. “Yeah, I just got here,” I couldn’t help but giggle. He made me feel like a seventh grader with her first crush. “My names Carly.”

Chapter Two Hey y’all! Here’s the second chapter (: Sorry it’s kind of boring… but it’s going to pick up I promise. I just needed to introduce Damian and Carly together so that we could get a feel of their relationship. Enjoy! “Nice to meet you, Carly,” he smiled at me. I could feel my heart melt. It’s so unlikely for me to feel this way about a boy. I’m NOT the kind of girl who believes in love at first sight, but there was something about Damian. “Yeah, you too,” I replied, trying to seem as cool and calm as possible. “So how long have you lived here?” “Oh, only a few months. Me and my friend Cameron moved in here together.” “That’s cool. It’s just me myself and I in my apartment,” he smiled at me. I replied with a chuckle. I must sound like such a loser. “I hope you don’t mind me asking if that’s an Irish accent you have there?” He laughed. Ohmygod. He has the most adorable laugh in the world. I was falling hard for this guy. “I’m surprised you recognized it.” “Are you kidding? I’ve always wanted to go there.” “Really?” He started to sound interested in me. “Yeah! It seems so beautiful.” “Yeah it is. America’s amazing but there’s something about Ireland that it cannot compare to.” He said this to me with a certain tone in his voice. Not necessarily homesick, but something similar to it. “Los Angeles is overwhelming compared to the small town I come from. Then again, I’ve only been here for about two hours.” “Yeah, well everything takes a little getting used to I suppose.” “Yeah I guess…” The conversation was definitely dying down. He probably thought I was just some boring chick. “Hey, do you wanna come inside? I’ll introduce you to Cam, maybe we can hang out a little bit?” His piercing blue eyes met mine again. “Yeah, I’d love that. Thanks!” I smiled at me and he led me inside. The apartment was about the same size as mine. It was a little bit messy but in a cute, refreshing way. Not in a gross way. Cameron was hanging out on the couch, playing his guitar. “Hey Cam, this is Carly. She just moved in across the hall,” Damian introduced us. “Hey” He looked at me quick and got back to what he was doing. I could tell he wasn’t that interested in meeting me. He had dark blonde hair that was messy, but in a different way than Damian’s. “That’s a really cool guitar.” I told him, trying to make conversation. His eyes darted up at me and a dorky smile formed on his face. “Thanks, do you play?” he asked me “Six years and counting,” I told him. “Nice! We should jam sometime.” He suggested “Yeah, totally!” I agreed with him. I could tell I was going to get along well with these boys. “All right, all right we’ll leave you alone now.” Damian interrupted and pulled me into his room. “Thanks for being so nice to me,” I giggled. “It’s nice to move in and know you’re not completely alone, ya know?” I explained to him. “Of course. You’re a really cool girl. So why did you move here anyways?” He asked me. I explained the whole situation to him. “I’ve just always known that I don’t belong in a small town like Baltimore. I’m more of a city girl. I just want to spend each day doing what I love, which is preform.” “Wow. That’s exactly how I feel. All I want to do is preform. I can’t see myself doing anything else.” He told me. He told me about how he used to be in a famous Irish band called Celtic Thunder. We talked about really everything like home, music, and really just ourselves in general. We have so much in common its incredible. “I can’t wait for you to meet all of our friends,” Damian said to me. “You’re going to love all of them.” “I just hope they love me.” “Are you kidding? How can they not? You’re so lovable.” I started blushing and he nudged me and smiled. “Well thank you,” we joked about for a while and before I knew it, it was midnight. “I should really get to bed.” I told him. I gave him my number and he walked me back to my apartment. “You’re really cool, Car.” Aw, he already had a pet name for me. “Thanks, Damo, you too” I returned the favor and we both started laughing. “If you ever need anything, you know where to find me.” He reassuringly told me. “I’ll keep that in mind. Good night.” I smiled at him as I closed my door. I fell asleep that night with a smile on my face. L.A was looking better than I expected.

Chapter Three Alright- the next chapter is going to be MUCH more interesting, I promise. Enjoy! Oh yeah and if y’all have any ideas or things you wanna see happen, let me know!
I woke up the next morning a little bit confused. Then it hit me, I was officially living by myself in a completely new place. I forced myself off of the bed and let my long, wavy, dark brown hair loose. I brushed my teeth and put on a little bit of makeup after washing my face, just in case I ran into anybody. I put on my black yoga shorts and my grey tank top and sat on the couch with my guitar. It’s what I always did when I was nervous about something. I just wanted to get my mind off of the fact that I was all alone with no plans or future ahead of me what so ever. So I just picked up my guitar and started playing. I was in the middle of playing The Man Who Can’t Be Moved by The Script when I heard the door open. I was terrified to look and see who it was so I just pretended that I didn’t hear anything and kept on singing and playing. “You know- you should really lock your door,” I heard someone say in a somewhat familiar deep, Irish voice. I stared at him blankly, and probably started blushing. “You’re really talented.” He said to me with a slight smile. “Thanks, that means a lot,” I said as I put my guitar down and walked over to him. “I was just wondering, if you haven’t done so already, if you’d like to go grab some breakfast?” He looked up at me and his bright blue eyes met my big, chocolate multicolored eyes. I smiled at him. “Yeah, I’d love that! Let me just grab a sweatshirt, come on in,” I opened the door further and gestured him in. I grabbed a grey sweatshirt from my suitcase which I had yet to unpack and headed back to the living room where he was standing, looking at pictures my parents put up. “Who’s this?” He asked me and pointed to a picture of me and my sister. “She looks just like you.” “That’s my sister, Casey. She’s four years older than me, but everyone thinks that were twins,” I informed him. “Were really a lot different, but were close. She’s like a best friend to me.” “That’s nice. I have an older brother and an older sister, but I don’t talk to them that often,” he told me. “Oh, any reason why?” I asked him “No, I guess it’s just hard when I’m in a different country and we all have our own lives going on,” “Yeah, I get that,” “Well, c’mon! Get your shoes on and let’s go!” “Okay! Okay!” I replied jokingly. I slipped on my rainbow flip flops, grabbed my key and followed Damian out the door. “So where are we going?” I asked him as we walked out of the building. “This little waffle house down the street, it’s amazing,” “Yess! I love waffles,” I laughed at myself. “Wanna know a secret?” “What?” he asked me with a suspicious face. “I’ve always wanted a dog named waffles,” I said with a big smile on my face as I looked up at him. “You are just too cute,” he laughed at me as he put his arm around me. The waffle house he brought me to was amazing. It was small and comfortable, it was homey. We talked a lot and made a ton of new inside jokes. I knew that even if Damian and I were never an item, we would be best friends. After breakfast, he took me back to my apartment and we watched TV together. “Hey, tomorrow night Cameron’s girl, Macy, is gonna be staying with us and were inviting all our friends over for a party. Do you think you could make it?” he asked me and raised an eyebrow. “Yeah, sure I’ll be there,” I smiled back at him “Can’t wait.”

Chapter Four- Part OneI wanted to look my best for this party. After all, this was going to be my first L.A. party. I straightened my long dark brown hair and clipped my grown out side-bangs up in a poof style so they were out of my face. I put on my mini fitted floral skirt, my cropped black shirt, and my black ankle boots. www.loveculture.com/Item/ItemDetailView.aspx?StyleId=1031566www.loveculture.com/Item/ItemDetailView.aspx?StyleId=1039701Damian told me to be at his apartment around eight, but I didn’t want to seem desperate so I decided to wait a little bit before leaving. -----DAMIAN POV---- I was wearing my light blue button up shirt and dark jeans. I stared at the mirror making sure nothing was wrong before she started showing up. si0.twimg.com/profile_images/1646497121/298697_187620851322188_165862526831354_405624_527170750_n.jpg“Someone’s looking fly,” I turned around and saw Macy, Cameron’s girlfriend watching me. “Macy! I need a girl’s advice,” I told her as she walked towards me. “First of all, unbutton the first two buttons. It makes you seem more carefree. Second,” she got up on her tip-toes and ran her fingers through my hair. “Perfect.” She smiled at me then walked away. “Thanks Mace,” I yelled out to her. I took a deep breath and went into the living room to hang out with Cameron until everyone started showing up. “Hey man,” I casually said as I plopped onto the couch next to him. “Dang, you clean up good. Who you trying to impress?” He asked me. I just stared at him blankly, debating whether or not I should tell him about my crush. “Are you trying to get Hannah back? I don’t know man that was a onetime thing I don’t think-” “No Cameron,” I cut him off. “I’m over Hannah. I’m into Carly.” “That new chick across the hall?” “Yeah I think I like her,” I told him. Just that moment Lindsay, Marissa, Hannah, Ellis, McKynleigh, and Emily walked in. “Damian! Cameron!” They ran up and hugged us. Things were kind of awkward with Hannah and me. We used to have a thing a while back, but that was over. There was still some tension in the air. Within the next ten minutes Samuel, Bryce, Matheus, and Alex showed up. Carly still wasn’t here. I started getting worried, so I decided to walk over to her place to see if she was still coming. I walked over and knocked on her door. “Oh, hey! I was just about to walk over,” she said with a smile on her face. Ohmygod. She looked amazing. “I was worried you forgot,” I looked up at her and told her. “Of course not,” she said and took my hand. “Let’s go!” ----CARLY POV---- I was just about to go across the hall when I heard a knock on my door. I opened it and saw Damian standing there. “Oh, hey! I was just about to walk over,” I told him. Why was he here? Did he care about me going that much? “I was worried you forgot,” He looked up at me with a nervous look on his face. “Of course not,” I reassuringly told him. “Let’s go!” I grabbed his hand and pulled him across the hall to his apartment. When I opened the door, there was a group of people in there. Damian put his arm around me and introduced me to everyone. Lindsay, Marissa and I really hit it off. They were really sweet and we all had a lot in common. Then Samuel walked up to me. “Hey, Carly right?” he asked me. He had tan skin, long dreads, and squinty eyes. He was over all attractive. “Yeah, and you’re Samuel?” I asked him. “You can call me Sam,” he said as he grabbed my hand and kissed it. “Ok then, Sam,” I said and giggled. He was definitely hitting on me. I was really into Damian, but I wasn’t sure if he was into me too so I decided to explore my options. ----DAMIAN POV---- I looked over and saw Carly talking to Marissa and Lindsay. I knew that they would get along well. Then, I saw Sam walk up to Carly and he kissed her hand. WHAT?! Are you kidding me? Was it not totally obvious that I liked her? She even smiled back at him. Who was I to think that a girl as gorgeous and amazing as her would like me? “Hey man, you ok?” Bryce asked me. I then realized I was staring. “I’m great,” I angrily said and I walked away from him. “WHO WANTS TO PLAY TRUTH OR DARE?” I shouted across the room. Everyone started walking towards me smiling. I needed to get my mind off of this.

Chapter Four Part Two ----CARLY POV---- “Who wants to play truth or dare?” Damian shouted across the room. I loved playing truth or dare. I figured it’d be the perfect chance to get to know everybody so I grabbed Sam’s arm and headed towards the center of the room where Damian was. We all sat in a circle. “Carly, come sit next to me!” Lindsay shouted. I walked over to her and sat next to her. On the other side of me was Sam. Right across from me was Damian. He was glaring at Sam. Crap. “Ok, Marissa, truth or dare?” Lindsay asked Marissa. “Ummm ok Dare.” She nervously responded. “I dare you… to go kiss the cheek of any guy in here.” Marissa stood up, walked over to Sam and kissed him on the cheek. “OHHHHMYGODD” everyone was murmuring. Sam looked proud and Marissa was blushing. “Ok, Sam, truth or dare?” Marissa asked him. “Truth.” He confidently responded. “Who’s the prettiest girl in this room?” “Either you or Carly,” he winked at her and smiled at me. She blushed, yet again and I just looked confused. I could tell he was a major player. “Carly, truth or dare?” “Hmm, Dare.” I said. “Pick one guy in here, sit on his lap, and give the lucky guy a kiss,” He said to me with his squinty eyes. He smiled at me. He so thought I was going to pick him. I stood up and walked across the circle to Damian. He looked so surprised. ----DAMIAN POV---- I was hardly able to concentrate the entire game. I was debating between hating Samuel, or making Carly jealous. I only started paying attention to what was going on until I heard Sam say Carly’s name. “Carly, truth or dare?” He asked her. “Hmm, Dare.” She said and she bit her lip. She was so sexy. “Pick one guy in here, sit on his lap, and give the lucky guy a kiss,” He said her and he smirked at her. Great. She was totally going to pick him. She stood up and looked around the circle. Then she started walking towards me. Wait.. what? SHE WAS WALKING TOWARDS ME. She straddled me and put her arms around my neck. I put my arms around her waist and leaned in. ----CARLY POV---- I couldn’t believe I was actually going to do this. I wanted to do this as sexy and swift as possible, like I knew what I was doing. I straddled him and but my arms around his neck, hoping he’d accept it. He put his arms around my waist and I immediately got butterflies. He leaned in and his lips came crashing into mine. I deepened the kiss by moving my fingers through his hair. The guys started whistling, and the girls, and Alex, yelled at us to get a room. The rest of the night went smoothly. Damian’s arm stayed around me the rest of the night and afterwards Lindsay, Marissa, and I were getting along really well so I let them sleepover at my apartment that night. I knew that night that my life was amazing.
