I knew Sharon and the gang would come trough with a better fiddle for Aisling! And I think her mom heard her prayers and that Aisling meeting Damian and ending up where she is, is her mom's way of answering those prayers!

Suddenly, someone's mobile rang, and we all jumped. It was Damian's.
'Hello?' he answered.
'Oh, hi Siobhan! How have you been? I've been busy, I met someone. No, she's just a friend. Yeah, I'm not sure when I'll be back up in Derry, things are busy down here. Right. Goodbye.'
He hung up and stuck his mobile back in his pocket.
'Who was that?' I asked, unsure of who this Siobhan person was.
'Siobhan.. She's my.. my girlfriend. Has been for awhile, about a year and a half.'
I didn't know how to answer something like that, so I just sat there and mulled over what I had just heard.

Canadian! That I did not see coming! But something tells me all is not a bed of roses for Siobhan and Damian! Any body with a brain can see Aisling has a crush on Damo!I WANT THESE TWO TOGETHER IN THE END!

'Oh, I'm happy for you, then.' I said, unsure of what to say.
I got that annoying feeling of loneliness in my gut yet again. I told myself that I shouldn't let myself jut assume that maybe he and I would have gotten involved as more than friends. I politely excused myself, and walked outside to get some air. I walked about a block or so away from Mairead's house.
I didn't cry, I was just shocked that he hadn't mentioned Siobhan before to me. As I was contemplating the situation at hand and what to do about it, I heard loud foodsteps behind me. I started back toward Mairead's but suddenly realized I had gone much more than a block away. I sped up and quickened my pace to a brisk walk, and the person behind me sped up too.....

I chanced a quick glance behind me, and saw that it was the very last person on this Earth that I wanted to ever see again, Ian Mulligan! He saw me glance back, and gave me the creepy smile that had haunted my dreams and kept me awake for hours in fear of him.
I started to run, not completely sure where I was going, or if I was anywhere near Mairead's house, but I didn't care. All I wanted was to get as far away from Ian as fast as humanly possible.
I broke into a sprint, running as fast as my legs would allow me. Everything was a blur as I frantically ran away, but I didn't care. I ran about ten blocks, then had to stop to catch my breath. Panting, I nervously checked behind me. And he was STILL right behind me, ready to finish what he had started. I backed up, trying to put distance between us, but after ten steps backwards, my back ran into a brick wall. Without realizing it, I had backed myself into an alley.
My only escape was blocked by the horrifying sight of Ian. I swallowed hard, adrenaline flowing through my veins, but there was absolutely no way I could see out of this. He advanced toward me, a combination of satisfaction and evil in his eyes. I shuddered. Think, Aisling, how can you get out of this?!? I asked myself. But my mind came up completely and utterly blank. Soon, the only thing separating us was a foot of air. He still smelled of day old whiskey. Terror struck me like a knife.
'So, little one, we meet again?' he said mockingly.
I refused to speak to him.
'I did ya some good damage last time, but there's plenty more where that came from!' he sneered.
Just to show me he meant what he said, he gave me a sharp kick in the leg, and I doubled over in pain. Oh God, not again, I silently prayed. Mam, if you can hear me now, show me how to get away from this monster!
'Pretty little Aisling, all alone and frightened.'
The hairs on the back of my neck stood up.
Ian suddenly shifted to the left, making a lunge toward me. I leaned to the right, and ran past him as fast as as I'd ever run in my entire life! He was chasing me, not giving up until I did.
But I was determined not to be subjected to his abuse again. I wasn't watching where I was running, and my shoelace came untied, and I tripped on the cobblestone and tumbled to the ground. Just as I was getting up and dusting myself off, he shoved me back onto the ground roughly, and I banged my head against the stone street. I blinked away the stars that were circling round and round my head.
'There's no lad to come and save you now, is there?'
I shrank against the pavement, expecting a blow any second, scared out of my wits, but also not going to go down helplessly without a fight. I put my fists up, and he just laughed at me. I screamed, and he laughed some more.
'There's not a soul around, just us two.' he said menacingly.
At the mention of his using the word 'soul' I snickered darkly.
'You have no soul, nor conscience, Ian Mulligan! I don't even think you're human!'
He stepped closer and closer. I managed to get to my feet, but he grabbed hold of my leg and yanked me back down onto the ground yet again.
'I'm going to finish what I started. Since I obviously won't get the money owed me from a lying, sneaky lass like yourself, I will have to settle the score my way.'
I knew 'his way' involved one thing, and one thing only. Hurting others since he was clearly past the point of rational though and humanity. I took pity on him, but I still hated him, and all he stood for with a passion.
