'I can't believe he had the audacity to show up again!' exclaimed Ryan, shaking his head.
'I can.'
A sleepy Keith and yawning Daniel emerged from their bunks.
'What are you two on about?' wondered Keith, rubbing sleep from his tired and a little bloodshot eyes.
Not wanting to explain the whole thing, I showed him what I'd shown Ryan, and just uttered one word.
'Ian.' I muttered softly. I didn't want Danny to see, but he had been watchig from behind the blonde man. Now they all knew, and my thoughts were racing a million miles an hour. Keith whirled to face Ryan, and spoke.
'What are we going to do, we have to do something! He followed her halfway across the world!'
'I'm working on that bit Keith; I'll come up with something, don't you worry one bit about that!' replied Ryan, a promise in his voice.
'Maybe... Maybe I should just go back to Dublin..' I whispered quietly, not wanting anyone to know about what I was considering doing.
I knew they'd tell me it was a reckless and stupid notion to actually go through with. Ryan and Keith were plotting revenge,
Danny was munching away on Lucky Charms, and George was conversing with Sharon, Emmet, and Neil. That left Damian to
eavesdrop on my random murmurings. I glanced over at him, and he gave me the look hat meant he knew what I was up to. An eyebrow shot up, and he was looking worried again. I swear he worries so much lately, he's going to start getting grey hairs at twenty! He walked over and plopped himself down next to me.
'You're not actually considering that, please tell me you're just having me on.' he said, blue eyes pleading intently.
'I, well I might be. He's just going to come back again anyway.'
He was absolutely serious now, face like a statue's. He looked at me like I was insane to even have that thought cross my mind in the first place.
'Aisling, get a grips. If we leave you alone, I don't even want to think of what might happen.' he admitted, worry clouding his beautiful eyes.
'By 'I don't even want to think about it', what do you mean by that, exactly?'
'I don't want to sound all pessimistic here, but now you've got me thinking worst case scenario.' he explained.
'Stop beating around the bush, spit it out already!' I was getting a little annoyed that he wouldn't come straight out and just admit what was on his mind.
'Let's look at the facts, shall we? He's already beaten you multiple times, he followed you to another country, and am I missing anything else?'
'He said he'd go after you if I didn't go and see what he wanted last night.' I confessed, eyes glued to a patch of flooring.
'I don't care if he threatens me, I'm closer to his size than you are, I can take him.'
'Why would you go provoke another fight? Running into him is one thing, finding him to fight is completely another!' I argued, trying to make him see it from my perspective.
'Because I think that he won't stop the beatings and following and threats until..'
'Until what? Tell me what you were going to say!' I begged, needing to know what all of his prediction was.
He pulled me close, my green eyes staring back into his deep blue ones. I searched them for an answer, finding nothing but worry, angst and a protective look.
'I don't want to traumatize you any further than I know you've already been, but since he's trying to get his comeuppance on your father who's passed away, I don't think he'll stop or consider his job to be done until he gets rid of you completely.'
I took in all he had said, thinking it all over and through in my head about a million and a half times. Finally, I found the words I knew he or anyone hadn't wanted to have to say aloud.
'You think he wants me dead, don't you?' I said in a small, quiet voice.
'Yes, I do. I don't see any other reason why he'd continue this on for so long as he has, but I hope to God it dosen't come to that.'
'I can.'
