“Boys!” Sharon yelled walking through the bus’s threshold. “We have a mission.”
“A mission?” Damian asked excitedly. “What kind of mission?”
“Same kind of mission as always Keith.” George sighed, setting down what he had been working on.
“Well, I just meant, if this going to be a real singing gig, or…uh…well, you know. The other.” Damian said.
“The other.” Sharon explained.
“Give us the details.” George said, now picking up what he had just set down. A black cross bow that hadn’t been shooting straight for the last three missions.
“Where are we going this time?” Emmet asked, new to this whole business. Joining up for Celtic Thunder, he had assumed all he would be doing was singing, but he was soon proved wrong.
Sharon sat next to the bald man, putting a rolled poster down on the table, then flattening it out. “Oregon.” She stated, pointing to a red spot on the state map.
“Oregon?” Ryan asked excitedly. “Does that mean I can-”
Keith cut him short. “Yes Ry, we all know your girl lives there, but there are more important things at hand!” Keith now grabbed his brown backpack, and pulled forth a large wooden stake. “How many are there?” He sounded evil.
“I’m not sure.” Sharon began. “Seems like a few, but they’ve been keeping themselves well hidden. We’re going to have to draw them out somehow.”
“And how do you propose to do that?” Neil wanted to know.
“I’m not sure yet.” She admitted. “But they can’t be too hard to draw out. We’ve done it before, we can do it again.”
“I just hope it isn’t like Jacksonville.” Keith shuddered. “We had to stay there THREE DAYS to get all those leaches cleared out! And I couldn’t even go to the beach!”
All the man shared a groan. The nest that had hidden away in the Florida city had been one of the worst they had seen, but they weren’t sure what was worse; the demons that had plagued the people, or Keith’s incessant demands to go to the beach, which had plagued them.
“We’ll drive through the night.” Sharon told them. “We’ll do a show Saturday, so we won’t look suspicious, then Sunday and Monday, we’ll hunt.”
“But Sharon, since we will be so close to Anna…” Ryan shuffled his feet and blushed as he spoke of his girlfriend, hoping to win Sharon over. “And we don’t know how long it’s going to take to find these things…can I PLEASE go see her on Saturday?!” He begged.
“Actually, I was just getting to that. The coven, or the single, seeing as we’re not sure yet, is actually quite close to where she lives.”
“Wh…What?” Ryan felt his stomach drop.
“It’s true. Anna’s in danger. So, you are welcome to take her out of there Saturday. Bring her to the show, have her stay in a hotel that night, something. We need to keep her safe, and more importantly, we have to keep the secret hidden.”
“Are you kidding me?!” Ryan yelled. “‘Keep the secret hidden’? She’s in danger! I have to tell her!”
“No Ryan.” Sharon was stern. “You can’t tell her.”
“Why not?!” He demanded. “She’s my girlfriend! Paul told Dom!”
“Dominique was an exception. She was Phil’s daughter, she already knew! And if you tell Anna, you could scare her away.”
“Anna’s not like that! She wouldn’t get scared.”
“Ryan, please. This won’t go over well. Trust me.”
“But I…”
“Ryan, listen to me, if only this once. Do not tell Anna that vampires are real.”
