Prologue
It has been twelve years since she sang that song. Twelve years since her life was completely turned around for the good… and bad. Twelve years since she met him. And twelve years since she was reunited with her Dad. Now here is her story about her life after all of that…
Chapter 1
“Hey Aria, have you seen my shirt?” my husband asked. I looked up from my grading and asked,
“Which one hun? You have like a hundred different shirts!” He laughs and says,
“The plaid one.” I roll my eyes at him and say,
“You do know that you have like twenty different plaid shirts, right?”
“Oh yeah… well, where is the red plaid shirt that you absolutely love?” he asked, coming over to me and pulling me into a nice, big hug. I smile against his chest, taking in his scent.
“In the laundry room.” I murmur against his chest. He lets go of me and runs off saying,
“Thanks, midget!!!”
“Hey!!! Just because you are taller than me doesn’t make a midget!!!” I shout back to him. I hear him laugh. Shaking my head, I go back to grading the tests that my class completed today. I stop again and think to myself, “Who would’ve thought that I would be sitting here today grading first graders’ tests?” I smile, thinking back to that day where this all happened.
Flashback…
Eight years ago…
“Hey Aria, now that we are older and more mature, I was wondering, would you like to move into my apartment with me?” twenty-two year old Damian McGinty asked his girlfriend of four years. Twenty year old Aria Kelly looked up at him in shock.
“Are you serious? You want me to move in with you?” she asked, still in shock.
“Well, yeah. Unless you don’t wasn’t to.” Damian rushed out that last part.
“Lets see, living with you or living with my dad? Tough, tough decision!” Aria said laughing. Damian started laughing as well while saying,
“So, you’ll move in with me?” Aria nodded, a huge smile plastered on her face. Damian’s face copied hers…
Nine years ago…
“Damian, can I open my eyes now?” twenty-one year old asked her boyfriend.
“NO. Now shut up and walk.” Her boyfriend said to her sharply. Aria sighed and walked to the lead of her boyfriend as he guided her through this place that was unknown to her. Suddenly, he stopped.
“Okay, you can open your eyes now.” He said. She opened her eyes and gasped at the sight in front of her. They were in this little garden with lights strung around the fence that enclosed the place and there was this little table that was fit for two. And there were also Aria’s favorite flowers all over the place… lilacs.
“Oh my gosh Damian, it’s beautiful. But why did you do all this for me?” she asked, turning to her boyfriend who was smiling sheepishly.
“Well, I wanted this night to be special for you. Now come on and sit down.” He said, pulling out a chair for her. She sat down and he pushed her in. Then, Damian went and sat down in the chair across from her.
Halfway through the dinner that Damian had prepared himself (hot dogs- it was Aria’s favorite, and it was all Damian could cook without burning it), Damian started to play with something that was in his pants pocket.
“Damian, what are you doing?” Aria asked.
“Guess I might as well do this now.” And then he got up and knelt on one knee in front of her. Aria put her hands to her mouth, gasping as he said,
“Aria Kelly, I love you more than anything in the whole entire world. And I promise that I will care for you forever and love you forever and be faithful to you forever. Now, will you marry me? Please?” Aria didn’t even think twice.
“Yes, yes!!! I will marry you!!!” Damian slipped the diamond ring on her finger and kissed her. She kissed him back and then hugged him.
Four months later…
“Damian, do you take Aria to be your wife, through sickness and in health, forever and ever?” the priest asked Damian.
“I do.” Was the reply. Aria’s smile had just gotten bigger.
“And Aria, do you take Damian to be your husband, through sickness and in health, forever and ever?” the priest asked, turning to Aria.
“I do.” She said. Damian’s face was mirroring hers.
“Then I now pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss the bride.” And then after those words were said, Damian pulled Aria close to her and kissed her like he had never kissed her before. And she kissed him back with the same passion. This only lasted a minute though because someone in the crowd shouted,
“Alright, we get it, you like to kiss her! But can you hurry it up, I heard that my favorite type of Guiness will be at the after party and I wanna have some!!!” Damian and Aria pulled apart, looking around to see who the shouter was. When they saw that the person who shouted at them was their friend, Damian’s band mate, Keith Harkin, they started to laugh, and so did everyone else in the church.
1 year later…
“Damian, I’m pregnant!!!” twenty-two year old Aria exclaimed to her husband when he walked into the apartment that they were living in.
“OH MY GOSH!!! Are you serious?” he asked, picking her up and swinging her around. She nodded, because she was laughing to hard to speak.
“WOW!!! Congratulations!!!” her husband exclaimed, laughing as well.
6 months later…
“I am sorry. But it seems that your child did not make it.” The doctor told the upset couple. Damian looked at his wife, afraid on how she would take this news. He could see that she was holding back tears. He felt awful, he knew how excited she was to be a mother and now she didn’t even get to try to give birth to the kid. Aria nodded curtly and the doctor and Damian left the room so she could get re-dressed.
“Hey, we can always try again.” Damian muttered to his upset wife in the car on the way home. She didn’t say anything. Instead, she leaned against the window and let all the tears that she was holding back in the doctor’s office fall.
1 year later…
“You got the job?” Damian asked when he saw his wife come out of the school building.
“Well, they didn’t need a teacher for kindergartners.” Aria started, but before she could finish, Damian interrupted her by saying,
“Oh darling, I am soo sorry. Maybe next time.”
“Hey, I said that they didn’t need a kindergarten teacher. I didn’t say anything about them needing a teacher for the first graders.” His wife said smiling.
“You got the job?!?” Damian asked, a little more excited.
“I got the job!!!” Aria exclaimed, falling into his embrace.
“Congrats.” Damian said to her. She said nothing. Instead, she kissed him.
Back to present day…
“Hey, you alright?” Damian asked, coming back into our room breaking all my thoughts.
“What? Oh yeah, I’m fine.” I assured him.
“What were you thinking about?” Damian asked, sitting down next to me, putting his arm around me.
“Life. Everything that has happened to us so far.” I said, leaning against his chest. He just nods and holds me protectively.
*sorry this was soo long and I’m sorry this sucked, I swear this shouldn’t happen again. I just had to write this to get you ready for the next few chapters, which I promise will be a bit better and not as long. Sooo… please review and lemme know if I should continue this or not. Thanks!!! Oh and in this, Damian is now currently 30 and Aria is 28. Now please review!!!! Thanks… again!!!*
