Lyla woke up in a hospital bed. She couldn't see. "Keith! Keith! Where is Keith?!" She began trying to get up, dispite being quite unable to see anything. A nurse rushed in and tried to restrain her, and got a hard punch in the jaw for it. She called for help and a Doctor and two male nurses came running. They finally got Lyla back into bed and restrained with straps to the bed. Suddenly a nurse came running in with a tall blonde man right behind her. "I said no visitors!" The doctor snapped. The nurse stumbled over her words, out of breath. "This... is Keith. Maybe he can...can calm her down." The doctor instantly let the man pass. "She has been calling for you and trying to go find you." He explained. "We've had to sedate her four times, and she is doing more harm to herself than she can deal with. She has no memory of why she is in here." Keith nodded as he rushed to Lyla's side. "Lylee, Babe. It's me, Keith. I'm here." Lyla cried out when she heard his voice. "Keith! Oh, Keith where have you been? I don't know where I am, I can't see, and when I woke up you weren't there." She finally collapsed back on the bed, exausted from her fit. "It's okay, Love. I'm here. Ye are in the hospital in Oklahoma City. After our concert a crazy man started throwing grenades. The blast caught ye and ye were thrown somewhere. We couldn't find ye. Then he called and said that he had ye and we had to disband if we wanted ye back. But then the 'ospital called and said they had ye and ye were being a... disagreeable guest." Lyla twitched as she thought of something. "Keith, why are you calling me Babe and Love?" She couldn't see, the flash grenade had done some temporary damage to her eyes, but Keith blushed. "Oh, well,... Um, ye just seemed scared and like ye needed some comfor'ing. I thought ye might like it." "But won't your girlfriend be mad?" He shrugged, then remembered she couldn't see him. "We, a... kin'a broke up. She said she couldn't deal with me idiot friends anymore, and I kin'a got in her face. So...Yeah, we arn't goin' out anymore. Hey, the rest of the guys want to see ye. Are you feeling up to it?" She smiled. "As long as Damo don't break anything." Keith grinned. "Okay." He stepped out to fetch them. "Keith? Keith?!" Lyla called. He rushed back into the room. The rest of the lads on his heels. "What is it?!" He asked worriedly. "I'm sorry," she sobbed, "I just... You left and I couldn't see anything. I kinda freaked." "Oh, Hun. Ye are okay now. I'm back, and I won't leave again." Keith didn't see the looks directed at him when he called her Hun. George just smiled. "How are you feeling lassie?" He asked. "I'm real sore, I guess from being thrown around, and I can't see you guys. The flash did something to my eyes. Doc says I should be able to see in a few months. Damo! knock it off!" "How did ye know I was doing anything?" He yelped. "I just know you, little buddy. Can I have a hug?" The boy gave her a light hug and apolgized when she winced. "It's okay, who else is here?" "Hey Ly." Ryan called. "I'm here." "Me too!" Paul said. She faintly heard Neil's voice. "I'm here, kinda smashed between Keith and the window." "Oops." Lyla giggled as she heard shuffling. "Oh, Lylee, ye have no idea how good it is to hear ye laughing." Just then the doctor came back. "Okay, I think she has had enough for the day. She should be able to go home tomorrow, you can see her then." Lyla insisted that Keith stay. The doctor pulled him to the corner and whispered, "I suggest you stick close to her over the next week or so, she gets way to stressed when you arn't there. When you left to get the guys, she almost had a heart attack, literaly. Don't leave her alone, and physical contact is a good idea." Keith's eyes widened at this. "Yes sir!" Then he practically ran back to her side. He quickly shot a text to Sharon to ask the guys about his idea, then grabbed Lyla's hand. She sighed quietly. He watched her fall asleep then lay on the couch in the small room. It wasn't very comfortable, but he was within arms reach of Lyla.

Great start! Love how it involves the all the original lads! If this is during first U.S. tour in 2008, then Damo would be 16. When they recorded the first CD in 2007, Damian was 14. The first DVD was filmed in August of 2007, a month after that Damian turned 15. Sharon did not bring the Show to the States till Fall of 2008.

The next morning, Lyla was dismissed and Keith was given some papers to give to her doctor should any more problems arise. She leaned heavily on Keith's arm and he helped her onto the GUYS tour bus. She stiffened. "What's wrong Love?" Keith asked, trying the name again. She didn't object. "This isn't my bus. It smells wrong, the girls bus smells like Haley's perfume, this smells like...beer." Keith led her by the hand. "It's okay, it's the guys bus. We all agreed that ye could stay here with us until ye feel better." "But where will I sleep?" "On me bunk." "Oh Keith I can't kick you out of your bed. Besides, where would you be? On the couch? No, I don't want to be that far." She mumbled the last sentence. "Well... How about we just share." She nodded and then collapsed. "Lyla?!" She opened her eyes. "What?... Oh, sorry, I'm just so...Yawn... Sleepy." "Don't do that again! Ye... scared me." She smiled. "Sorry..." she yawned again. Keith softly smiled down at her, then scooped her up and carried her to his bunk. He got her settled in and hurriedly went to the bathroom. As soon as he was done he hurried back to Lyla, she was crying out in her sleep. He slid onto the bunk beside her and took her hand. She instantly calmed and snuggled next to him. He smiled again and crawled into the bunk. She looked so cute when she was asleep. She was cute all the time but... Ahh! What was he thinking. Finally he drifted to sleep.
When Lyla woke, Keith was gone.
I know, it's short. Busy day and busy tomorrow.

When Lyla woke, Keith was gone. "Keith!" She relaxed a little as she heard him call, "Coming!" He rushed back to her side, wrapping his arms around her. "I was just getting ye some hot chocolate, and discussing with the guys what we were going to do with ye." She pulled out of his hug and guessing where his face was, attempting to look at him. "What to do with me?" "Yeah, I can't take ye on stage with me, and we got ten more concerts this tour. We figured whoever was backstage when I was singing would sit with ye, and in the numbers where everyone was onstage, ye could kinda stand in the back behind me." "Oh Keith!" Lyla wrapped her arms around him. He hugged her back and whispered, "The lads want to see yer pretty face sometime today." She gasped. "Oh, I must look aweful. My hair," she reached up and felt her head, "How am I gonna do my hair?" "Don't worry, Babe. I'll brush it for ye." She flashed him that smile, the one that lit up his world. He grabbed a brush and gently combed out the tangles, and then surprised her. He french braided her hair. She reached up and felt her hair. It was perfect. She thanked him and then he led her up to the living area of the bus. She heard rather than saw the guys turn. A low whistle echoed and she giggled. "Wow, Lyla." Paul whispered. "Ye look amazing, how did ye do yer hair?" She laughed. "Oh, I'm not that good. Keith did it." She giggled again when the guys were silent. Aparently they looked rediculous, because Keith started laughing hystericly. "Oh Lylee! If you could see their faces! I know how to braid guys. George does too. Has a little girl you know." But he fell silent when he saw the tears in Lyla's eyes. "Oh, oh Babe I'm so sorry. I didn't think... I just." She turned and stumbled back to the bunks, but couldn't get onto Keith's. She collapsed on the floor and sobbed. She felt an arm on her shoulder and someone was rubbing her back. "Shh... I'm sorry." Someone else took her hands. She heard George, Keith, and Ryan's soothing voices. Damian hugged her, she could smell his bodyspray. Then Paul started quietly singing, You raise me up. When she managed to calm herself, Lyla whispered, "I'm sorry. I'm sorry I'm such a baby." She felt all of them stiffen. "Ye are NOT a baby." Ryan insisted. Just then, Neil, the guitarist in the band climbed into the bus. "Guys, it's time for sound...check. I'll just go now." He turned and fled the scene before him. "You guys should go." Lyla sniffed. Keith pulled her to her feet. "Yer coming too." He pulled her into a hug and they all headed for sound check. What do you guys think? I need comments to tell me what to fix or do differently.

Just out of curiosity how dos Lyla fit into the CT family? Other than that the update is fine with me.

All during sound check, Keith sat with Lyla, but when he was singing, Paul and Ryan put their arms around her. She was grateful that they cared so much. None of them mentioned it, but when Keith would get up in the middle of the night, they could hear her whimpering. The doctor had atributed the attachment to Post traumatic stress, and said that it should wear off. Then they all had to sing. Sharon had heard the plan and was getting a new dress made for Lyla. Lyla was on the tour as a backup singer for this song anyway. Keith led her onto the stage and she stood right behind him. If she got stressed she had to only raise her hand and his back was right in front of her. She made it through sound check wonderfully, and only paniced once when her foot missed the step off the stage. Keith caught her and led her back to the bus. "We are gonna go to Subway for lunch, it's across the street. Do ye want to come Lyla?" Paul asked. Lyla paused, but she knew that Keith was starved. She had heard his stomach across the theater. "Sure." A releived sigh fell from somewhere to her left. "Hop on." Keith was standing in front of her now. Lyla hesitantly put her arms around his neck and jumped. His arms came up under her legs and he carried her, piggy-back across the street. Lyla laughed. A real laugh, that had not been heard since before the hospital. The guys laughed with her, grateful for the sound.
"So what do ye want on yer sub?" Keith whispered. He ran down the list of options for her. She decided on a meatball sandwich, with cheese. As the rest of the lads ordered, Lyla dug in her pocket for her wallet. "Oh, no. I'm getting yer's." George called. "You really don't..." But he wouldn't have it. "Hey Lylee," Damian called in a sing song voice, "Have ye kissed yer Keithy baby yet?" Lyla blushed and wave a punch in his general direction. To both their surprise, she connected with his shoulder. "Ow!" "Oh! I'm so sorry! Are you okay?" He just laughed, not wanting her to know it had really hurt a good bit. "No. I'm, fine." "Don't ye lie to me!" She called in her best accent. This got her a real laugh. "What? I thought it was a good try." Keith laughed and brushed his lips on her forehead. "It was a great try. Ye sounded like ye live with us in Ireland yer whole life." She had twitched in surprise at the kiss, but leaned on his shoulder. "That would be great." She mumbled. "What?" Keith asked. "Nothing... Keithy baby? Really?" "Da...Damian... He did... I didn't say..." Everyone laughed as Keith stuttered. "I was teasing. Hmmm" She giggled, "I kinda like it. Ry, is he blushing yet?" "Oh yes. It got worse when ye asked. He's so red he,mmph!..." Keith had slapped his hand over Ryan's mouth. This caused more laughter. All of a sudden there was a squeak. "What is it?" Lyla demanded. "I think," Paul had on his charming voice, "That we have a fan in the restaraunt." Lyla giggled. "Well go on. I can wait a few more minutes before I crash." She heard chairs scrape and paper ruffling as the lads signed autographs and took a few pictures. She stood up and suddenly felt lost. She couldn't find the table or the chair to hold onto. Just then Keith turned and saw the panicked look on her face. He stepped away, apologizing, and grabbed Lyla's elbow. "Keith?" She asked hesitantly. "It's me. Yer fine." She could practically taste the concern flowing her direction. "I'm okay." She mustered a slight smile in the general direction of the guys. It was aweful, why did some lunatic have to go ruining her life? Losing her sight was like losing her arm. She felt off balance and dizzy. She heard the lads say goodbye to the fan, they were happy to meet her, then Keith picked Lyla up and carried her back to the bus.
How was that?

When they got back Keith sat down on the couch and set Lyla on his lap. She felt someone, George by the feeling, sit next to them. Keith wrapped his arms around her body and sighed into her ear. "I'm sorry," She whispered. "Sorry for what?" "For being so pathetic and scared." His arms tightened around her. "Yer NOT PATHETIC!" He nearly shouted. "Why would ye ever think that?" Lyla flinched. "Keith..." Paul said. "No! Why are ye beating yerself up about what some jerk of a man did to ye?!" "I just, I feel so helpless and weak. I can't even do my own hair!" Lyla pushed out of his arms and ran into the corner of the bathroom. "Ow." She sat on the floor and rubbed her mouth and nose, trying not to cry. She shivered, who turned on the air conditioning? A jacket settled on her shoulders. It smelled like Keith. "Thanks." She sniffed, turning. And her face ran smack into Keith's, their lips just barely touching. She drew back an inch or so, and Keith led her back to the couch. "I'm sorry Lylee," He whispered, "I'm going to fast, I just like ye a lot." She nodded into his shoulder. "I..." She couldn't finish her sentence. But Keith was content to wait for her, however long. They sat and chatted about the fan they met at lunch and the concert that night until Neil poked his head in cautiously. "Whew! Um, it's time to get dressed." Paul threw Damian over his shoulder and hauled him out of the bus. Ryan and Keith took Lyla's hands and George brought up the rear. Sharon helped Lyla into her white dress with silver swirls on the bodice, and did her makeup while Keith was changing. She arranged Lyla's fire red hair and curled it. Keith poked his head in and whistled. "You look amazing!" He took her arm and led her out to where the rest of the guys were. Low whistles and exclamations of Wow! were heard as Lyla blushed. Then someone called Curtains! and everyone rushed to their place on stage. Lyla's one song was the first song in the show, and it passed in a blur. She knew she didn't miss a note, but she had to reach up to touch Keith several times when the noise from the crowd unseen overwhelmed her. When she found a chair afterwards she collapsed into it. Keith was singing, so Ryan sat with her and held her hand, talking so she would know he was there. Then Keith was done and Ryan left to change. "You okay?" Keith asked. She nodded. They sat in silence mostly, Keith humming along with the music.
You likey?

Me Love it! Had to chuckle at the image of Paul throwing Damian over his shoulders! The light kiss between Keith and Lyla was sweet! Love her dress and the way Sharon did her hair!

When the concert was over, George and Damian went to do Meet & Greet with the fans while the rest collected all of their stuff and headed for the bus. Keith casually mentioned that after the show he wasn't going to the pub with the guys, but Lyla insisted that he go. "Will y'all mind? If I tag along, that is?" Paul winked. "No problem at all missy. That is if ye will put up with our crazy drunken self's?" She giggled. "Sure." Damian leaned over and whispered, "Paul, she can't see ye wink." No one noticed the wince that flashed across her face, she was to quick to replace it with a smile. They piled into a van reserved for this purposed and it was decided that Keith was the designated driver. He groaned, but the others pointed out that Damian was to young to drive or drink. "I could drive!" Lyla piped up in the back. She smiled thinking of the looks of horror that were surely on the faces before her. "Um, Hun. Ye can't..well..." Keith couldn't finish his sentence. He didn't want to hurt her again. She smiled at him. "I was... Joking." She seemed to ponder the word for a moment. "Yes, joking." She seemed stunned at her own ability to make a joke. "I just wish I could 'ave seen y'all's faces." Her somber mood returned. "Don't worry lassie," George said, "We'll set ye up with the best drink they got." Lyla was really worried that she would drink too much. She didn't drink too much at home.
When they left, she knew she was going to hate herself in the morning. Aparently the best drink was also the strongest. She only drank half before the room started to spin. Lyla staggered into the van and heard laughter slowly following her. The lads that drank were nutty, and Keith and Damian were laughing at them. When every one loaded up and the car began to move, Lyla lay her head back on the seat and soon was asleep. When they got back to the bus, she was dimly aware she was laying on Paul's shoulder, then she was lifted by strong arms and carried to Keiths bunk. She snuggled deep beneath the covers and sighed. Keith slid in beside her and she drifted further into dreamland.
When Lyla woke, she was alone again. A whimper escaped her, dispite her attempt to contain it. She heard a shuffling and someone whisper "Keith!" His arms were soon wrapped around her and she sighed. "What were you doing?" "Playing cards with Damo and Ryan. He had the least to drink and is not near as hung over." "Please, don't worry about me, go back to your game." He sighed, but left her to dress on her own. Her head pounded as she felt around for her comb. Finding it, she combed her hair and found her way to the bathroom. She managed to brush her teeth alright, then walked back and dug in her bag for clothes. Finally surrendering to the fact that she couldn't see what she was holding, she called, "Keith?" "Yes, Baby?" "Could you help me?" She sighed as he came back to the bunks. "What color is this shirt?" He chuckled. "It's the green one with shamrocks on it. Do ye want me to get ye some jeans?" She nodded, embarassed. "And my sweatshirt?" He handed her some jeans, but he couldn't find her sweat shirt. "Here, wear mine." She smiled gratefully at him and went back to the bathroom to change. She emerged a moment later dressed, and found the couch by herself. Keith set her on the floor in front of him and began rebraiding her hair. There was a long silence and she asked, "What?" Damian stuttered, "We... we didn't think Keith could really do yer hair like that." Lyla laughed. "Yup. He does it better than me I think." George and Paul got up a moment later. She heard a shocked gasp from Paul and giggled. "You didn't think he could do it either?" Paul finally said "Uh, no. Not really." George laughed and Paul turned on him. "Did YE know he could do that?!" George laughed again. "Ya, I knew. Who do you think taught him how?" Everyone turned to stare at George. "What? I got a wee lassie meself, got to know how to do something with 'er hair." George turned to Keith, "Yer doing it upside down again, Keith. So, yer sharing clothes now?" He gestured to Lyla, wearing Keith's sweatshirt. "Oh, I couldn't find hers, so I just gave 'er mine. The bus IS cold." George nodded. "So we have the day off. What are we going to do while we are in California?" "Surf!" Keith yelled. Then he looked guiltily at Lyla. "I mean, if you don't mind coming to the beach with me?" She smiled. "As long as the other's go for it." They all said sure, and they went to find their swimsuits. "Keith, would you find my suit? I have two in my case." He unzipped her bag and dug around til he came up with two suits, a one peice black suit, and a green bikini. He handed her the bikini. "This was what I could find, I didn't see the other one." She took it then looked suspitious. "Are you sure?" "Mmmhmm..." He smirked. "Stop smirking, Keithy baby." Lyla smirked herself. She headed for the bathroom where Paul and Damian were arguing over who got the bathroom first. Lyla stumbled and fell on Damian. "Excuse me." She flashed a smile and shut the door in their faces. She laughed as she heard groans from the other side of the door. The groans stopped the instant she open the door. Taking a guess, she playfully snapped, "Hey, eyes up here." She heard embarassed coughs and stammers and knew she was right. "Really?" She slipped a jacket over her swim suit and smiled at the small groan that escaped the lips of one of the guys. Damian laughed. She settled on the couch to wait for the rest of the group. Normally Lyla would read while she waited, but... She sighed. Someone plopped on the couch in their swim trunks. "What's up?" It was Keith. "I was just...I...I miss reading." Keith nearly slapped himself. Before the accident, Lyla was always reading. "I'm sorry. Would ye like me to read to ye?" She smiled. "Sure, but I think we are ready to go now." Just then the rest of the guys came out in their suits. "How did ye know that?" "I heard them coming." They piled into the van with George driving. Keith sat next to the door with Lyla against the window, his surfboard next to him. Ryan and Damian were in the next row behind them, and Paul climbed in the back. The drive to the beach was uneventful and quiet. They were only ten minutes away. When they arrived, the sound of the ocean hit them. Keith crowed in joy as he saw the waves. Ryan agreed to sit with Lyla so he could surf, and Ryan could tan. They found a quiet spot and Ryan, Lyla, and George lay out towels and baked in the sun. After an hour or so, Lyla felt her skin growing hot, and hid under her towel. She heard a soft splash and footsteps on the sand nearby. "Keith, don't you dare get me wet!" "Aww! Yer ears are getting too good." And he snatched her towel before soaking her. She shreiked and jumped up, lurching in his general direction. Her fingers brushed his arm as he dodged. She chased him until she tripped. Her foot slipped in a hole she couldn't see and she cried out when her ankle gave way. Keith turned when he heard her cry and gasped, running towards her. Gently he eased her into his lap as the rest of the guys ran up. "Ryan!" Keith insisted, "Ye had first aid training, help her!" Lyla winced as Ryan gently inspected her ankle. "I think it's just twisted. We need to put ice on it for a while, then she should be fine, if a bit sore." They all agreed that it was time to go, dispite Lyla's insistance they enjoy themselves. "The good waves have died down anyway." Keith said.

They got back to the bus and Keith helped Lyla into the bathroom to change, standing just outside the door. She called to him when she was done, and he carried her to the couch. The lads sat on the floor so she could put her foot up and they got her some ice for it. Then Keith got up and diappeared in the back of the bus. "Keith?" Damian called. "I'll be right there!" He hollered back. When he reamerged, he was holding the thickest book Damian had ever seen. It was about two inches thick. "What is that?" he asked. Keith laughed. "Eragon. Lylee, how long did it take ye to read it last time?" She giggled and replied, "Eight hours, spread out over a couple of days." "Well it's going to take me a bit longer to read it too ye, I'm not that much of a reader." "Oh! Thank you Keith!" He just smiled, sat on the floor and started to read.
It took a week and a half for them to finish the book, and Damian listened to every word. When they were finished he pouted. "But does Eragon beat Galbatorix?" Lyla smiled at him and wordlessly handed him the next book. He grinned and said thanks, before disappearing to his bunk. Keith grinned at the boy's excitment. "But now what shall WE read?" Lyla dug in her bag and pulled out two more thick books. She ran her fingers around the edges and felt the covers before putting one back. "Let's read the Hobbit." Keith was getting used to her knowing who was coming by their footsteps, but she just correctly picked out a book by feeling it! She had learned where everything was on the bus, and could navigate mostly without help. She even knew when Sharon had on her glasses, claiming she could smell the plastic frames. When she caught a cold, Keith insisted she see a doctor and he told her that her eyes were getting better dispite the fact she still couldn't see. She was getting better, she didn't cry out in her sleep when Keith got up for some water anymore, but she still stuck very close to him during the day.
