Only for love, or never would I be married. Somehow, I had to get out of this dreadful arrangement. I wouldn't let my life pass me by, longing and wishing for a life full of adventure, warm memories, and love.
Interrupting my thoughts, Trudy stole quietly into my room, and crossed over to where I stood, gazing longingly toward the eastern horizon.
"Miss Molly, we all are well aware of your predicament. And we want to help you escape from Mr. Johnsen and your mother."
I turned to look at her, into those soft grey eyes that cared for me and my wellbeing. Few cared for me as much as she, this I knew well.
"But how?" I managed to croak out softly, throat raw and voice distorted from yelling and much silent sobbing when nobody else was about.
"We have a plan. If, if we do not succeed, I will go to my grave knowing I have failed you. And I wish to avoid that at all costs. Do not worry, I cannot tell you much, it would only serve to endanger you more. Trust me."
Putting my pallid, dewy hands in her aged, cracking palms, I put all my faith in her. I trusted her to bring Emmet and I together again, I trusted her with my very existence.
"I trust you." I said, for once not doubting a word that left my lips.
